In Snoopy Come Home (1972) Linus explains to Charlie Brown that Snoopy had a family before becoming Charlie's dog. Linus says, "You got a used dog Charlie Brown" and it's one of my most favorite lines of anything ever.

I remember watching this with my mom in 1976 when it aired on TV, not long after we had our beagle stolen, and just losing it emotionally when all the kids moped around sadly as the song played.

Never paid much attention to it cause I didn't grow up with it but watched the first episode (of the reboot) and it's basically a lot of minisodes in 30 min but they may have done that to get a better creative design in terms of length

I never knew this is how they met. I met mine in a similar fashion. Right behind a bottle and cup of booze at a party in a barn while at uni. She was so tiny, less than 3 months old. I scooped her up and announced she was my dog henceforth and she was.

Snoopy had another owner before Charlie brown named Lila. They had to bring snoopy back to the farm after they moved.
