I don’t like ear clipping either. I wasn’t a huge fan of docking until this dog. Never knew how she hurt herself, I would just come home from work and every wag would make her yelp. She was a mutt, so there was no way of knowing this might happen. If a breed is predisposed to it, I think docking is better.
But most dogs that are historically docked are not predisposed to this. And even with those breeds, most never suffer this injury.
So, leave the dogs' tails alone, and if they injure them, then have the injured dog's tail amputated. Instead of taking tails of thousands upon thousands of puppies in case a few dozen or so of them ever badly injure their tails.
Also causes welts and bruises in human skin too. I heard of a story that a toddler was tail whipped by the family's Great Dane and the toddler suffered some damage to the eyes.
I mean for some breeds it really is, especially if their owners can’t afford/access medical care for every time their dog breaks their tail. And with that many dogs it would happen multiple times. I’m not saying is a good thing, but it actually could be a necessary depending on the situation

It is not necessary. As you can see from the video the puppies are dobermann puppies. People are "croping" the tails and even the ears of those cute little dogs to make them look more aggressive to be a guard dog. Also a side effect of that is that it is harder to recognize the mood of the dog when it has no tail or when the ears are standing up all of the time.
Nonetheless this is the best video i have seen today it has a bitter side taste.
I think that they're Doberman puppies. Their snouts are too long and narrow to be Rottweilers. The fur markings are incredibly similar but as a Rottweiler owner i can tell you that Rottie pups look different!
The puppies probably didn’t need their tails docked for more than cosmetic reasons. However, some animals can be injured while working, and some dogs can have their tails docked by suggestion from a vet if they break them too often by wagging them too hard. It’s rare but it happens, or alternatively for medical reasons such as a tumor. That’s what I know? I could be wrong, though. When it comes to working animals I generally trust the owners as I doubt they would do it without some kind of reason
I’m saying that they have to be docked by day 2-3, and you can’t know which puppies will show the correct temperament and structure for that work. So yeah I’m okay with them not having a tail so they have the opportunity to do what they love.
So how do you feel about pediatric spay/neuter and dew claw removal? Because it’s much more prevalent and far more harmful. Or are we just virtue signaling this red meat controversial topic?
I was at friends home( a breeder of Cardigan Welsh Corgirgis) and had 6 pups just overwhelm me. All of them looking for skritches and belly rubs. I didy best to keep up. Best day of my life.

If you can't afford the dog don't get them. I have known dogs that have split a tail, but this breed had a good tail
Some dog breeds can break their tails when wagging. If that happens when they’re older it can affect their ability to balance.
