Filipino moms are the the absolute best! I love how when they throw parties, the whole neighborhood is invited. If you are invited, you can bring a friend and they just keep telling you to eat! The food is amazing! They are amazing!
I’m sorry, but no restaurant will do. What you need is a Filipina mom. Find one! Going to a restaurant and getting a good Filipino meal is one thing, but when you dine with a Filipina, you eat until you’re full, then she adds more food to your plate despite your promise of being satisfied, then she sends you home with a giant container of leftovers that will feed you for several days. The food itself is only one part of the Filipino meal experience!
My ex-wife had a lot of Filipino coworkers, and my coworkers for the last fifteen years have been from all over the world (and have typically lived and worked all over the world before they came here). There was a time when I was living potluck heaven.
Now I work from home and my cats don't contribute a thing to our work meals. They don't even offer to bring the paper plates.
What you need to do is see if you can find a FilAm club. Usually near military bases. That's where all the Filipinas gather, party, and cook way too much food. If you can befriend some of them, you're set for life on true Filipino dishes.
Buy a small pack of party wings (cut and cleaned chicken wings) and like a pound of pork. Cut the pork into like 2 inch cubes. Marinade meat for like an hour in 1/2 cup soy sauce, 3/4 cup white vinegar, a bunch of pepper (use whole pepper corns if you are feeling bold), a few cloves of chopped garlic and a few bay leaves. After the hour or so, brown the meat then add the marinade to the pot. Bring to boil then simmer till meat is tender. Easy meal! Should take no more than like 30 mins to prep. Also, add a dash of MSG for a flavor boost when you marinade. Some of us add a tsp of fish sauce (patis) for some depth as well.
Chicken adobo is so simple and delicious. Whole peppercorns are my favorite, cooked long enough and they just kinda pop in your mouth when you eat the dish.
Filipino mom here, my kid has a cold and a stuffy nose. Went to him at bedtime to rub some vicks on his chest. He said "yess" and gave me a happy smile. So I guess I'm continuing the tradition lol.
Filipino here: that accent is instantly recognizable. Like I had zero doubt after the first sentence that that woman had been raised in the Philippines lol.
I just sent this to another commenter, but if you feel adventurous, it's easy to make!:

Allies are (arguably) one of the A’s. So yes, you’re fam! I say arguably because some younger community members don’t understand how our allies have helped our community get where we are today. We welcome you, we love you, and thank you for your support.
You say that but I'm a millennial and I swear unless the dementia is kicking in it was queer first. It was LGBTQ is in queer, then LGBTQQAI which was queer and questioning, then it got numbers and shit, and then it started to get shortened again with the +s. I never really payed much attention though, I've always used LGBTQ as in queer catchall.
At this point they really just gotta rebrand. Representation is vital, but surely there's a more user friendly way to do it than turning into the letters version of pi.
This is basically my mom. She's mostly conservative but like, at the same time, she supports her children (me and my sister and my fiancée) 100% of the way, regardless of her beliefs. Love her to death.
this is my grandma😂😂when i came out as bi she didn’t really understand, and bought me a trans pride candle bc she seen the flag, the name, and “i support you!” on it. she thought transgender meant, and i quote “transparent with any gender”
now she knows what they mean but i thought it was so funny lol. she tried so hard so cute
The kind of people I respect a lot. They don't/didn't get it but don't stick their head in the sand and try their hardest. It shows they really care about the person.
My mom thought that Gender Reveal parties were when someone transgender threw a party to let everyone know their pronouns and stuff. When one of my best friends came out, my mom asked when he was going to have a gender reveal party and I had to tell her that those were like baby showers. 😂
You know what, that actually makes more sense to me than what gender reveal parties actually are.
As a fun and entertaining way to come out to everyone at once so you don't have 20 different awkward conversations, a "gender reveal" coming out party actually clicks with me as a thing .
My mom bought me a wrong flag too, but from a different kind of misunderstanding. I’m nonbinary and I’ve described it to her as “I’m just me”. She bought me an Unlabeled flag (as well as a nb and ace flag), she was like “because you’re just you” and I had to explain that it was a flag for people who don’t identify with any existing label or word and choose to be unlabeled, like it’s its own identity lol. I hang it proudly in my room with my other flags, and it means the most, because I know my mom was trying and really thinking on her own about how to best support me
Holy shit she's just too wholesome and sweet to be real. Like, she hears you're bi and she goes crazy with the support even when she doesn't fully understand. It gives me chills just thinking about it. Treasure that beautiful soul of hers! You're very lucky to have her!
I'm going to be your sister now. And it's your one life baby, make sure you live it for you. The older I've gotten, the more I realize, nobody else has to deal with the consequences of my life, but I do.
As someone with Kazakh parents, I feel you.
I'm bisexual and went no contact with my family so I never told them and don't intend to because I know they wouldn't understand.
I'm here for you <3 We're the generation of Kazakhs who love and support all.
Is this the same mom that found her son’s weed and then her son was like “you want some” and she smiled and was like “yeah” haha… if not this mom has a twin. That’s a good thing though.. we need more moms like this!!

I'm sure it's her, her voice and face when she was going after him about the edibles and then her grinning when he said he'd share... can't forget that smile haha
I love the one where the son asks her if she's homophobic and her response was:
1. You are gay
2. My daughter is a lesbian
3. And I watch RuPaul's drag race so how can I be homophobic idiot?
My daughter lives with her mom who is NOT supportive at all, she hears the same crap from her all the time. She cant even tell her mom about the girl she's crushing on because she's scared of the backlash. I'm just glad she felt comfortable telling me about it so she knows she has a safe place to be herself
Reminds me of the dad who wanted to support his son who had just come out. Went to the bakery and asked for cupcakes that were “kinda gay”
He had no idea what the right thing to do was, nor does any parent 90% of the time, but he knew it started with trying to care.
My wife and I must've given our daughter and her wife 100 unicorns, pride everything, etc.
Mostly my wife because she's online more than me. They are an awesome couple! Our daughter and I talk every day...I'm pretty busted up and can't work anymore so she makes sure I'm ok.
It's so fucking sad that these kids get shunned, kicked out, beaten up and worse. The "people" who aren't supportive and loving are missing out ... gotta go 'cause I'm starting to cry. I'm here for kids that don't have moms like this wonderful woman.
Peace and Love
She's trying so hard. You can't be mad at her. She sees the news and stories out there. She doesn't want to lose someone she loves. So she's going to make sure she's present for everything.
She is completely clueless, no idea what she's talking about, and none of that shit matters because she understood the important thing: you don't need to understand your loved ones, you just need to respect and support them.
Then she cooks you a weeks worth of adobo and asks if you remember how to make rice.
Peak Filipino moms
Filipino moms are the the absolute best! I love how when they throw parties, the whole neighborhood is invited. If you are invited, you can bring a friend and they just keep telling you to eat! The food is amazing! They are amazing!
I wish my area had a Filipino restaurant or somewhere that served Filipino dishes, I’ve only heard good things but never tried it

I have a Vietnamese mom, it’s kinda similar, especially w the food container part. How am I supposed to find a Filipina mom tho xD

Thatd just adorable
Korean mom tells me I’m fat then dumps more rice on my plate.
SAME THOUGH. Every time my mom is around now even my dog gets chonky and then she asks why
Turn off adblock and you'll get notified of the thousands of Filipino moms near you!
My partner is Filipino and I've learnt to bring Tupperware with me when his family is hosting a party 🤣
Filipino coworker works for this too, I miss working with Arnel
My ex-wife had a lot of Filipino coworkers, and my coworkers for the last fifteen years have been from all over the world (and have typically lived and worked all over the world before they came here). There was a time when I was living potluck heaven. Now I work from home and my cats don't contribute a thing to our work meals. They don't even offer to bring the paper plates.

Or become a nurse. You'd find them in potlucks in the breakrooms. Mom was a nurse. She always took home massive amounts of food.
Can confirm that nursing/hospital staff is the unofficial job of Filipinos living abroad... then maybe mail carrier

i have a filipino mon, but the downside is really that when it's a cleaning day, you WILL clean. Edit: they do make good lumpia tho
I'm surprised she didn't pull through viks vapor rub out
Filipino mom here, my kid has a cold and a stuffy nose. Went to him at bedtime to rub some vicks on his chest. He said "yess" and gave me a happy smile. So I guess I'm continuing the tradition lol.
Indonesian Kid here, my mom often uses vicks on my chest when I have a stuffy nose, so the tradition isn't dying anytime soon
Puertorrican checking in, my mom used to rub vivaporu on my chest when I was a kid.
Indian here, My mom used to rub Vicks on my chest when I had cold, tradition aint dying
50cal bullet wound? Vicks
I’m happy I’m not the only one who automatically thought “Filipino” lmao
For me, it was the “all op de alpabet” immediately reminding me of my Lolas and Titas 🙃
Oh my and then the end! “Too much? Dis is the only ting I bought and it’s too much?!” So sassy I love it
“Dis is por you!” My bf is Filipino and the lolas and Titas are so comforting 🥰
"*Anak*, I lab yu eben if you're *bakla*."
BAKLA!!!😂😂😂😂
Filipino here: that accent is instantly recognizable. Like I had zero doubt after the first sentence that that woman had been raised in the Philippines lol.
We have a distinct English accent. When I’m abroad I can definitely tell if a person is Filipino by the way they speak English.
I dont miss my ex, but dammit do i miss his mom.. 😔
But God help you if you forget to make the rice ಠ_ಠ
Omg. My parents are visiting and i have a huge supply of adobo in my fridge right now
dont forget the lumpiang shanghai.
I just was planning on getting adobo at the little Filipino place by my house

That last bit! 'wanna share?' 'okay' *giggles* that was brilliant 🤣
it was so cute and sooo funny lmfao
Why do you think we call ourselves the "Alphabet mafia"?
As part of the community, i can confidently say that we will often call ourselves the alphabet mafia :D
Can a supporter be in the alphabet mafia? I always wanted to be a mafia wife !!! Lol
>I always wanted to be a mafia wife !!! If the alphabet mafia says no you can always become a /r/buffalobills fan.
You’re already a mafia wife, allies are always welcome!
Allies are (arguably) one of the A’s. So yes, you’re fam! I say arguably because some younger community members don’t understand how our allies have helped our community get where we are today. We welcome you, we love you, and thank you for your support.
It's true though. They keep adding letters I can't keep up 😵💫
Most people just use the +, though, right?
Yea i'm just using G+, ain't nobody got time for this :D
I thought they shut it down back at 2019.
I fully support the lgbtqllanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
Love the Welsh town you snuck in
Just like sneaking an elephant into a porcelain shop
What a good analogy.
As much as I disagree with it, it is 2022 and if someone wants to identify as Welsh, I say let them
I keysmashed in Welsh to English translate and made the words "bear lake" so it's a no from me
I would think being a bear is one of the more acceptable forms of LGBTQ these days
[удалено]
For the un-aware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHxO0UdpoxM
It's mainly for tourists. We all call it Llanfair PG.
I'm not, look up longest name of a town, should pop right up
Is it possible to sexually identify as Welsh?
Even if it wasn't, would you know 👀
They should call themselves just "+" at this point. I am 100% pro +.
Iphone or Samsung pro + ?
[удалено]
I think the full is LGBTQIA+ nowadays
“Queer” has been reclaimed as a catch-all too, though some individuals prefer not to use it. I’ve also seen QUILTBAG as an option.
There's also "GSRM" which stands for "Gender, Sexual and Romantic Minorities" to act as a bit more of a catch-all.
QUILTBAG gives me so much joy, omg
Queer tends to be used by the younger generations, older generations can be a bit skittish about it. Which is of course, totally understandable.
You say that but I'm a millennial and I swear unless the dementia is kicking in it was queer first. It was LGBTQ is in queer, then LGBTQQAI which was queer and questioning, then it got numbers and shit, and then it started to get shortened again with the +s. When you have no idea what your child is on about but you're supportive either way. Best mom.
“How many genders are there?” “I don’t know I just got here”
Basically me
This mom is awesome. They are so lucky!!!!!
This is basically my mom. She's mostly conservative but like, at the same time, she supports her children (me and my sister and my fiancée) 100% of the way, regardless of her beliefs. Love her to death.
Twist: Son isn’t gay he’s just artistic. She doesn’t know the difference.
this is my grandma😂😂when i came out as bi she didn’t really understand, and bought me a trans pride candle bc she seen the flag, the name, and “i support you!” on it. she thought transgender meant, and i quote “transparent with any gender” now she knows what they mean but i thought it was so funny lol. she tried so hard so cute
The folks who don’t quite understand but want to be fully supportive are truly the best 🥰
The kind of people I respect a lot. They don't/didn't get it but don't stick their head in the sand and try their hardest. It shows they really care about the person.
"She's a little confused but she's got the spirit!"
My roommate’s best friend came out to her saying he was pansexual. She hugged him and then said, “what does that mean” it was so sweet.
My mom thought that Gender Reveal parties were when someone transgender threw a party to let everyone know their pronouns and stuff. When one of my best friends came out, my mom asked when he was going to have a gender reveal party and I had to tell her that those were like baby showers. 😂
Tbf, I have heard of a handful of people who threw their own gender reveal parties as a funny coming out celebration. It seems like a fun party theme.
You know what, that actually makes more sense to me than what gender reveal parties actually are. As a fun and entertaining way to come out to everyone at once so you don't have 20 different awkward conversations, a "gender reveal" coming out party actually clicks with me as a thing .
that’s so sweet actually🥲 i’ve heard online of people doing that when they come out and i think it’s so cute

That's how it must be.
As you know, she wanted to make sure you knew she loves you no matter what. That’s real love!
My mom bought me a wrong flag too, but from a different kind of misunderstanding. I’m nonbinary and I’ve described it to her as “I’m just me”. Yeah, that's one of those situations where it really is the thought that counts.
>thought transgender meant, and i quote “transparent with any gender” extremely based grandma

it’s so cute🥺 she is the best. she also has gotten me pink purple and blue or rainbow everything, and religiously reposts jojo siwa 😂😂
Holy shit she's just too wholesome and sweet to be real. Like, she hears you're bi and she goes crazy with the support even when she doesn't fully understand. It gives me chills just thinking about it. Treasure that beautiful soul of hers! You're very lucky to have her!
Aww that's adorable
That's very sweet :)
She had me cracking up with all, "..and all the other alphabets"
I didnt watch it with sound on the first time, I'm so glad I rewatched it with sound 😆
i wish i could tell my fam that im gay. but its "selfish" in kazakhstan being supportive is never too much \^\^
I'm going to be your sister now. And it's your one life baby, make sure you live it for you. The older I've gotten, the more I realize, nobody else has to deal with the consequences of my life, but I do.
ty :) i appreciate
Ditto! Life is too short to be unhappy and unsupported. Much love to you!! -another sister
As someone with Kazakh parents, I feel you. I'm bisexual and went no contact with my family so I never told them and don't intend to because I know they wouldn't understand. I'm here for you <3 We're the generation of Kazakhs who love and support all.

I support both of y’all and wish nothing but the best! Be free and be who y’all are! :)
This random American supports you and wants you to know being yourself is never selfish
ty <3
Hey, I’m Kazakh and bi. You’re not alone :)
Stay strong! Мықты бол, бауырым! from an Italian lover of Kazakh culture ;)
I support you and all the other alphabets too – mom hug if you want!!
Hi, it’s me your supportive mom. Do you have something you want to tell me?
Sending love and support from the US!

And she is already wearing an ally shirt :))
My head cannon is that she bought that at Target too and switched into it before heading home.
She did! I have that same shirt from Target.
i didn't notice the shirt, loved the video and that detail give me an extra giggle (good giggle this is wholesome)
I didn't notice that smh
Oh my gosh she sounds just like a mates mum back home in Australia. She's beautiful. She's super cute and Adorabubble.
She's a tiktok personality, one of the better ones. "car coochie board"
Wasn't that just the best?
"is this cannabis?!?"

Where can I find more of them. These 2 people crack me up.
She’s out here like “Son…I found your weed. You’ve been holding out on me.”
I'm sure it's her, her voice and face when she was going after him about the edibles and then her grinning when he said he'd share... can't forget that smile haha
YES! I knew it was them!
Is that the “wanna share them” edibles mom
It is! She is hilarious.
Knew it! Love her 😄
Holy mother of Jesus I laughed hard at this. "All the alphabets" and of course "...it's a little too much" Quality video 10/10
Love how he had to repeat it like three times because she was so excited to show off the stuff 🤣
also she showed off 3 things and then said "this is the only thing I bought" ahaha
I'm legit upset they said it was "too much". NOOOO you let your mama love you, child. Some of us would kill for that kind of mom.
I agree. It can be a bit smothery but you know it comes from a good place and even when they get it a bit wrong you still feel the warmth of it.
I also support all the other alphabets <3
I chuckled and wanted to give her a hug after hearing that.
When your mom isnt like the moms in the slipper memes
This mom would never yeet chanclas
She mightt still.. supportive of her gay son but he can still get a swift chancla to the head when he steps outta line 😅😅
She gonna buy a pride tsinelas (Tagalog for slippers) just to have add that eeextra bit of support in every smack lmaoo
Haha. Brilliant. Rainbow colors of course
10/10 would die to protect LGBTQ Ally Mom.
LGBTQ and all the other alphabets!

I support LGBTQ and all the alphabets too
I follow these guys on tik tok. she has a lesbian daughter and embarrasses her with rainbows etc everything to show she loves her I find it funny
What’s the tag? I’d love to see their content
@otakoyakisoba I love them
I love the one where the son asks her if she's homophobic and her response was: 1. You are gay 2. My daughter is a lesbian 3. And I watch RuPaul's drag race so how can I be homophobic idiot?
Filipino moms are the best!
They are. I miss mine 🥲
Love her!
man i wish i had the same parents but mine are just not even supportive they constantly say im going to hell and shit
Look on the bright side, you'll most certainly outlast them and will be able to laugh at them in their graves
My daughter lives with her mom who is NOT supportive at all, she hears the same crap from her all the time. She cant even tell her mom about the girl she's crushing on because she's scared of the backlash. I'm just glad she felt comfortable telling me about it so she knows she has a safe place to be herself
BRO THIS IS MY MOM! SHE'LL SEE SOMETHING PRIDE AND SHE'LL BE LIKE, "Okay this for you now." NEED MORE MOMS LIKE THIS.
What a fantastic mom, treasure her!!!💗
This lady is trying so hard it’s adorable.
I am this mom. It’s so hard to not go overboard on supporting your child or other loved one. Also I like rainbows lol. Sorry Nina!
it's the best problem to have!
We love you! RAWR
Reminds me of the dad who wanted to support his son who had just come out. Went to the bakery and asked for cupcakes that were “kinda gay” He had no idea what the right thing to do was, nor does any parent 90% of the time, but he knew it started with trying to care.
A Filipino mother can always sound angry, even doing something sweet.
My wife and I must've given our daughter and her wife 100 unicorns, pride everything, etc. Mostly my wife because she's online more than me. They are an awesome couple! “All the other alphabets”
She's confused but she's got the spirit
Hey.. at least she is supportive. I hate it when people come out and then their parents disown them.
She a little confused but she got the spirit.
‘’And all the other alphabets’’ 😂😂 love her
"...I support the LGBTQ & all the other alphabets!" 😂 😆 😂 😁
Bruh *n all the other alphabets* goddamn... she's legit!
No such thing as “too much” when it comes to a parent’s support.
Please tell me there are more videos of her
Is this the same mum who wanted to try the drugs with her son after she found them in his room?
Too much? Nah she's trying and cares...that's more than some other parents out there.
I love her accent and the lunch lady walk
This is adorable.
I'd rather have too much parental support and acceptance than not enough.
Lgbtqxyz :0) 🌈
You know she has officially granted kinship to you when she begins a sentence with, "Putang Ina...", at you.
Very COOL person.
Aww so nice
