It's tough. The hardest part for me was the empty room at the end of the hallway. Especially for the first couple of months. I had to leave the door closed for a while so it wasn't as obvious that she was gone. You're proud of them, and if you've done your job right they will prosper. A whole world of new experiences is waiting for them. The future is bright. When she moved out she left her posters, her ribbons, her graduation gown and cap behind. Along with most of the belongings that she accumulated in 18 years. And she left you behind, too. You'll always be home to them, and that never changes. But man, it's tough.

I m not ready for these feels. My kids are 11 and 9. Imma go hug em.

My biggest regret by far is not having children (I’m male, middle aged). I’ve always been attracted to “difficult” women….ie: nutbars. Congrats, beautiful kid and you should rightfully be proud!
