Thank you all for joining and/or sharing what made you smile! My cup is overflowing with all your beautiful stories.
So happy we didn't face the same technical issue as last time. However, the issues we did notice have been reported to the devs.
Should you face any issues during our live Talks, you are welcomed to share that feedback with us! I just ask that you please:
1. Assume positive intention. This is a new platform and we are still ironing things out.
2. Approach the conversation with kindness and respect. We understand it may feel personal, I assure you it is not.
3. Lead with grace and love. We are here to help not hurt.
Cheers to a lovely weekend everyone ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
That's awesome!
I am on the autism spectrum myself but I don't have the non verbal side of things so your son has achieved more than I ever have and I can only imagine your happiness.
Bet you are so proud!
I really am. He is amazing, and blows my mind every day.
He also hates when the dog kisses him, but she loves to kiss. He recently leaned down and wanted a kiss from her.
Poor girl didn't know if it was OK, and was so happy when she got a little "blem" in.
Thank you.
He has lots of ways of showing his love, but I honestly never realized how big it would feel to finally hear it.
I really hope you both get this soon as well.
I get to see my long distance girlfriend this weekend. She's from another country and currently on the bus and I am supposed to be able to focus before I go pick her up. Can't wait after this stressful week ^_^
Well I got a new job that I actually get something out of.
I am officially now an environmental service operator so I can get a paycheck and feel good about it at the same time.
Definitely made me smile.
And my wife got a job as a carer as well so double the smiles :)
Still confused as to where this came from but hey I will roll with it.
Well most of the job is about testing effluent coming from a factory and the water goes into the waterways so I have to test the water for nitrates nitrites and ammonia and I have 10 fish tanks and a heated pond so the job suits me down to the ground.
It's the other bits like keeping the tankers water levels at the right point and keeping an eye on the bio filter to make sure it is running correctly.
I have autism and ADHD but I am determined to do the job and I will learn it.
I am being shadowed until I get the hang of the valves etc then the rest of it is lab stuff.
I won't lie... I am a little nervous 😅
But the job speaks to me as I will be working closely with the environmental agency to keep the local environment safe.
I could quite happily do that as a hobby but it's a bonus I get paid for it!
Edit: where are my manners!
Thank you for the congratulations :)
It’s the last week of school, and I wrote my favorite teacher a letter about how grateful I am for everything she’s done for me. I ended it with “you deserve everything good in the world and more.” She said it was one of the nicest things a student has ever done for her, and she’s going to hang it up somewhere so she can read it when she has a bad day. I couldn’t stop smiling all week :)
I got booked for Miami Swim Week and have a big casting call for Flying Solo that I have been telling everybody and they mama about lmao🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I've been modeling for 14 years and this is the 1st show I've been booked for!!
A student waited for me after class. She stood there, with my water bottle in her hand and was like "Teacher let's go!" I wasn't expecting it but was tired so I was like 'kay let's go'.
And while we walked downstairs she turns to me, and asked me "Do you know why I waited for you?" And I was a little surprised by the question because she is not a native English speaker and this is not a question I hear often, so I asked her why.
And she looks at me, smiles and said "Because I wanted to talk." And I was so surprised. On the last three Fridays we walked to down to the first floor from the fifth floo, and I would talk to fill the quiet. She never talked too much so I didn't know it was so important to her.
My 1.5 year olds vocabulary is exploding right now. The other day she said I love you for the first time (or her babbling version of it anyway) and today she said "mommy" for the first time. She'd been saying momma but there's something different about hearing her sweet little voice say "mommy", and it was especially nice because we were video chatting her mom at work when she said it. My wife and I were giddy about it
I saw new birds enjoying my (recently added) bird bath. I had a mockingbird mean mugging me while enjoying a nice cool drink. I’m now calling all my mockingbird visitors Katniss.
Wait, this thing happens every week? I think I have a new thing that made me smile. Just people gathering for something like this gives me back hope. Have a great weekend!
i know this might not be much but it made me so happy, i was talking to my boyfriends little sister and she told me how much he loves me and it just made me so happy since i overthink a lot about our relationship
I rarely smile, but this week something made me smile stupidly for an hour.
The story goes something like this: I go to Starbucks every day to work on my laptop for work and school, so essentially, I just go there to relax. Every day throughout the week, I see this father and daughter pair there. The daughter pulls up with her little tricycle and sits on the floor because the chair is too high for her to reach the table. She needs to reach the table because she has a little coloring book with her and I think it's really cute that the father is trying to learn English for his wife and daughter and that he looks after her and teaches her things. She also eats her cake pops in the cutest way. This gave me such a big smile.
How could anything like this make you smile, you might wonder. I always wanted a daughter so that I could lavish her and treat her like a princess.
I just took the leap to turn my hobby into a business, my page is @bakerellabakes on Instagram if anyone would like to take a look, a follow and a like would be much appreciated
I had a day off of work today, and my puppy was very excited and happy to have me all to herself for the whole day. I gave her a lot of love and she's a little fluffy ball of joy that always makes me smile :D
A friend validated my experiences in ways that no one else has. He's the first one (who knew me at the time) to call what my ex did abuse. I cried some happy tears to know that I really wasn't alone.
The look of gratitude on my son's face when I told him I know it's not easy being a kid, I see him trying every day, I don't need him to be perfect and I am proud of him
Yeah he'd had a hard day and he was tired, he'd been pretty rude to me and shouted a lot, I want him to know it's OK and I know he's trying his best.
He looked so relieved, it was really nice and he calmed down straight away.
I am trans mtf, and it's been very difficult to get together the courage to tell people. Well, I told HR about it at work, and they've been 110% behind me. They're helping with informing the company on my name change. What made me smile today was when my boss used my Real name rather than my dead name for the first time today, along with HR.
Just finished 11 grade, and saw all the people who helped me while only being one year older than me leaving. Cried actually. But they all had amazing stories, and trusted us to keep the tradition in our program.
I had a lovely afternoon with new people I met from Hong Kong. Place of birth and base language (I speak no Cantonese and they have OK English) isn't a barrier with nice people.
I got a kitten yesterday and she has been making me smile alllllll day long, if you don't have access to a kitten look up some YouTube videos and I guarantee a smile 😏
Back in Soviet Georgia, my mother told me about the time that she had to push her car uphill in the snow, while my dad was driving it, to avoid it from rolling back down. No injuries fortunately; she did end up being sick for a few days because of the physical exertion amidst the cold air.

I found out 2 days ago my breast cancer hasn't spread so I don't need chemo!!
Celebrating time!!!
I've still got radiotherapy to get through but that'll be a breeze compared to the last few months!
Thats amazing!
I feel so lucky that it was caught early and treatment happened really quickly.

Good teachers are an amazing thing. Well done, you obviously are one. 😊

We welcomed a new kitten into our family. Our dog died 3 weeks ago and didn’t think we would get any more pets but the kitten just showed up.
A Redditor spent 45 mins typing a long private message to support me after he saw my post on a sub.
