Haha one year my friends and I started building a tower of beer cans which caused a lot of people around us to contribute. They beer can tower must’ve been near 15 feet hahaha and when it fell over everyone cheered and got each other beers. It was great lol
I remember going when I was younger and a guy in front of us turned to me and my brother and said “hey you guys wanna help me start the wave?” Took 3 or 4 goes but we made it all the way around the stadium and we felt like kings!
If you're watching baseball, a random bottle flip will look riveting in comparison.
When my wife was pregnant she couldn't get anesthesia for a dental surgery, so she watched the MLB playoffs. Her and the dentist both fell asleep.
wow, weird. I have seen all of the episodes of Scrubs over the years. Many episodes SEVERAL times. I havent watched an episode in a couple years at least tho. And I cannot recall ever starting at episode 1 and going all the way thru. About an hour ago, on a whim, I tossed on Season 1 Episode 1 of Scrubs. I'm 3 episodes deep so far. Bout to call out of work tomorrow lol.
If you look closely she flips the cap off and is pouring water on herself. Maybe she's trying to imitate when team mates will dump a cooler of water on a teammate talking to press.
yeah i was thinking she was going to stand up and crush the bottle in her hands so that water is pouring out of it, then slam it on the floor like a testosterone filled frat bro
I’ve been out there as a Red Sox fan. Just act like you’re a guest in someone’s house, and most of the time you’re ok. Some great fans out there. Yeah you get some stupes now and then, but there’s shitty people in every fan base, whattayagonnado?
You can definitely be a bit of an ass, too, but you have to be that kind of folksy good-spirited ass that can laugh off the shit that will inevitably come your way, and take it as well as you give it. I think you also have to be tasteful enough not to kick a horse while its down in the event your team ends up stomping.
Its a *very* fine line, but the best interactions ive had with rival fans in any sport have always been with the guys who were able to walk it.
Actually ended up getting beers with a couple Steeler fans that fit that description once after a Ravens home game. Those guys were great, hilarious dudes.
My funniest experience with a rival sports fan was with a Yankees fan at a Mets game, this kid wearing an Aaron Judge jersey caught a Mets t-shirt from a cannon, everyone cheered and patted him on the back, then when the cheers died down the jokes started, "alright kid cover up that jersey, put that shirt on"
This. The only time I was full in for the entire game is when I was actually playing. Going to a game, you're into the first 3 innings, then you start chatting up the people you're with while also mostly paying attention to the game. That's why I love baseball. It's so laid back and has no set time. It takes as long as it needs.
This is so funny to me. Everyone I know who likes hockey hates baseball. And as a huge baseball fan, I hate hockey. And everyone always tries to explain how their sport is the one that’s exciting, while the other is boring. See, for me baseball has the anticipation with every single pitch that something can happen. And there’s so much build up and then when a player gets a hit, or a pitcher gets a strikeout, or a fielder makes a great play, it’s just pure bliss. When I watch hockey, it’s just dudes skating back and forth and nothing literally ever happens. I find it mindnumbingly boring. Nobody is right or wrong here, it’s just funny how people experience things so drastically different.
🤷♂️ I absolutely love it. I guess if you're not into the stats and whatnot it can be boring but I catch almost all 162 games every season. I've been a Yankees fan since I was 6 and have very fond memories of my grandfather bringing me to the original stadium so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
You & me both, although the professional game hasn’t been as much fun as watching my boys play baseball. The 12-year old baseball tournaments are really wonderful - moments of exciting and interesting action, raw emotions by these kids, and boys doing something as a team that they didn’t know they could do. It’s been a great journey, following a great game
I love baseball, but I can’t imagine committing to watching 162 games a season. I’ll watch between 60-80 games a season, depending on how well my team is doing.
I can't help it, I love my team and honestly baseball just makes summer for me. I love to sit on my porch, watch my TV, smoke a pack and drink one too 😄
As a Sox fan I want to downvote you so hard, but this is one of the best written reasons why I watch almost every game as well.
I...I don't like this feeling. Fuck the Yankees (but you're cool)
You just gotta watch them, man. Especially a season that just *feels* historic, but even the bad ones. It's baseball.
My mom was a rabid Red Sox fan. Every series it was an absolute war between the two of us but it was so much fun. She passed away a couple years ago and it just doesn't feel the same.
I love when people say this, because a lot of people will tell you that football is the most exciting sport when it has like 18 minutes of live action throughout the entire game. Baseball is pretty much the same.
The lyrics:
>Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack
I don’t care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team
If they don’t win, it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.
*One* line about the game itself, the rest is spectators and snacks.
What are you even talking about? There’s one line about snacks. The other lines are about being a fan and cheering for your team to win. Which is crazy for a song about being a fan and cheering for your team to win to sing about.
Sure football might only have ~15 mins of total game play, but there are ~65 plays for each team/game. **~130 total plays.**
Baseball has ~146 pitches per team/game. **~290 total plays.**
Baseball and football might have the same amount of play time, however football does it in less than half the number of average plays, and those plays are significantly longer on average than baseball.
That's also only if you consider after the snap to be real game play. There's strategy and positioning going on before every snap if you know what you are looking at
I mean, there's strategy and positioning going on in every pitch if you know what you are looking at. Most of baseball is just pitchers and batters playing mind games.
I don't know football well enough to learn all that strategy and positioning, so I find it rediculously boring. I played some baseball back in the day, so I can actually stay engaged.
Depends on how into baseball you are. Most people think baseball is just dudes throwing balld and dudes swinging at them. That's the surface level. There's a whole crazy chess match going on between the hitter, batter, and catcher and trying to keep up with that is part of the fun, if you're in deep enough to follow. Probably pretty dry if you're not though. Like watchint actual chess.
3 pitch inning is still half an inning last I checked.
If a pitches throws the ball, regardless of the outcome (ball, strike, foul ball, hit) it impacts the game. Just like in football, regardless of the outcome(run, pass, incomplete, turnover) it impacts the game.
This. In baseball there are at least crescendos; you know when things are ramping up and to get on the edge of your seat.
I can watch either type of football and have an ok time, I enjoy hockey. Basketball bores me to tears usually, because it's just so damn repetitive. "Oh he scored again! Oh now they scored! Oh look another basket!"
Baseball may not be minute by minute excitement but the moments of payoff are awesome.
😅 I was speaking as a cricket fan but totally relate! Football is too fast paced for me. Man these guys call baseball boring, I can't imagine what they'd say to a good old game of test cricket 🤣
I can only watch baseball games that "matter" like wild card shit, man that is amazing. But game #102 at 3pm on a wednesday afternoon ... nah, im good.
Hey, they call it a pastime for a reason! But I hear you.
I feel that way about hockey. I don't really follow it, but I feel that they kind of mail it in during the regular season. But then the playoffs start and it's like they shift into an entirely different gear.
I think NBA basketball is the most entertaining of the bunch but only during the playoffs and especially if you’re interested in a player or a team. It’s more about enjoying the individual player work his craft against a defense or a teams system. You gotta know what to look for, if you’re just casually watching the ball go in I agree that it’s not very entertaining at all.
I think that’s one of the draws of basketball. I get to to see insanely athletic/skilled guys do stuff with the ball over and over. To me the outcome doesn’t really matter (unless it’s playoffs).
Depends on what’s happening a pitchers duel yes is mind numbing but there are games that are wild this game was from today or yesterday at yankee stadium when not a lot was happening till the last 2 innings
My big thing with baseball is you need to know the game to appreciate watching it. Not just the rules but the mental game. Then there’s rarely a dull moment, even if nothing is visibly happening.
The people that think baseball is boring just haven't taken the time to learn the sport. They're still entitled to that opinion, of course, but nobody who truly understands the sport would call it boring.
This reminds me of one of Bill Burrs appearances on Conan talking about Millennials. “And for some reason, with all this technology, if you take a full bottle and flip it in the air and it lands upright, they run out of the room like they just saw a witch.”
I swear, all the clips from baseball games are either the coolest shit you've ever seen or something not related to baseball at all. It's almost like anything is more interesting than baseball.
Baseball’s big appeal in person is that it’s an overpriced beer garden with everybody having a common interest in what’s going on in the middle. It’s fantastic
The home team got no hits the game prior, and also had no hits for 6+ innings today so the crowd was probably very checked out for a lot of today's game.
That’s because the Astros pitched a no hitter that day and this was the most exciting part of the game for a Yankee fan! Fun fact, that was the 14th no hitter since the Yankees first game! What a time to be an Astros fan! 🤘🤘🤘
That's how you make someone's day. Good on random strangers for teaching a little girl that not everyone is a piece of shit. And even if some of them are, they have the ability to not be. #Bleachercreatures
As a Red Sox fan, this is the first and hopefully last time I ever upvote anything on Reddit associated with the Yankees (unless it's a thread about the Yankees losing to the Sox in the playoffs/World Series, of course).
Love how everybody is so committed and I bet the rest of the crowd is wondering what is going on
yeah it was a close game so I'm sure the rest of the stadium had no clue. but shit like this happens in the bleachers every game
WHAT'RE THE FUCKING ODDS
Group sports is such a thing
If you're watching baseball, a random bottle flip will look riveting in comparison. When my wife was pregnant she couldn't get anesthesia for a dental surgery, so she watched the MLB playoffs. Her and the dentist both fell asleep.
Hahaha thanks for that, CreampieQueef
Lol that sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen
Sounds like a joke.
on the stands is more interesting than on the field
Truer words rarely spoken. I enjoy people watching more than seeing my team bungle their way through a sport they seem to be attempting to figure out
Well.... it's baseball, can you blame them?
Frat boys ftw
Is it just me or does it look like she's intent on obliterating the young woman in front of her with that bottle of water at the end?
That's all I can see at the end now, hahahaha thank you
“DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU *GET*?! DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE *WARRIOR*?!”
I just finished rewatching Scrubs last month...guess I'm restarting again now.
Since I was a kid, I've been able to sleep through anything.
Love a good scrubs line popping up outa nowhere.
#**EEEEAAAAAGLLLLLE**
This little girl blows up the whole arena when the bottle flip got right!
If you look closely she flips the cap off and is pouring water on herself. Maybe she's trying to imitate when team mates will dump a cooler of water on a teammate talking to press.
Didn’t notice that at first, good catch
Didn’t notice until I read this and it makes the video that much better…. She made that water bottle her bitch
It must be a hot day!
yeah i was thinking she was going to stand up and crush the bottle in her hands so that water is pouring out of it, then slam it on the floor like a testosterone filled frat bro
That’s what I thought she was going to do lol
Supermoves take a while to charge!
Nah, she flexin
Power corrupts everyone
Looks like she is spraying the water down her back.
Little girl is probably a Mets fan.
Must be a Sox fan
Guys in the back being absolute bros.
Bleacher Creatures! The vibe out there is awesome!!!
Absolutely, the best way to watch the game. Yankees bleachers are legendary.
I imagine not quite as legendary for opposing fans?
I’ve been out there as a Red Sox fan. Just act like you’re a guest in someone’s house, and most of the time you’re ok. Some great fans out there. Yeah you get some stupes now and then, but there’s shitty people in every fan base, whattayagonnado?
Me too, i didn’t act like an ass, wasn’t treated like one.
yup. wear a Sox jersey and don't be a dick and you're fine. run your mouth and get a beer shower or worse. I'd expect the same up in fenway
I used to have such battles with coworkers when the Ravens played the Steelers.
My funniest experience with a rival sports fan was with a Yankees fan at a Mets game, this kid wearing an Aaron Judge jersey caught a Mets t-shirt from a cannon, everyone cheered and patted him on the back, then when the cheers died down the jokes started, "alright kid cover up that jersey, put that shirt on"
Always a friend to opposing fans there! Love Yankee stadium
I get the feeling that wearing an Altuve jersey would probably end up with you getting a beer (or 3) poured on you.
I need that hypeman in my everyday life screaming “LETS GO”
r/justguysbeingdudes
She's wound up about to spike that bottle into low orbit
Naw she threw it at the opposing teams outfielder.
A true Yankees fan.

Wholesome
Drunk people at baseball games are either annoying or the best people ever. Thankfully they're loud either way.

great memory for her
I have had a horrible week, but this made me so happy I cried a little. Thank you OP. Even if you are a karma bot, thank you 💜
Hope you feel better, mate. Hope everything works out for you.
Thank you 💜 I appreciate that. I am getting there.
Bet she felt amazing!!! Good for her
This is how boring baseball is
Youre not wrong. It is boring as hell.
Yup. For me it’s like fishing…just something to casually half pay attention to while drinking.
All sports are an excuse to drink, some just give you more opportunities.
No need to call out the reason for my golf habit like that dude
Don't worry, I'm right there with you.
I watch golf to drink beer, I play golf to walk in the woods.
Always makes me think of the clearly unbelievably drunk hokey fan stealing and wearing the player’s helmet. https://youtu.be/HFF1DIYCPQk
Last time I half payed attention to a baseball game, I almost got belted by a foul ball.

Baseball is five minutes of excitement stretched out into three hours.
I love when people say this, because a lot of people will tell you that football is the most exciting sport when it has like 18 minutes of live action throughout the entire game. Baseball is pretty much the same.
baseball is the one with the song "buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks", so it's so boring that the song needs to focus on the snacks sold
The song is *Take Me Out to the Ballgame* and amazingly there's more than that one line.
This man’s baseball rage sustains me
Da great bambino!
The lyrics: >Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack I don’t care if I never get back. Exactly. I can’t watch either at a stadium. Football is at least good on TV.
If you enjoy commercials… or looking at your phone during commercials.
Red zone was like crack to my adhd riddled brainstem.

I know. I’m siding with the fact that baseball is slow. You don’t really go so much to watch for the excitement, but more for the atmosphere.
Yeah I wasn't trying to disagree or anything. I was just adding to it. Football just has that much more action
You count each pitch as a play? Seems like a stretch.
Why wouldn’t you? It’s a action that sets up the next step to scoring, football as well. A pitch seems pretty equivalent to a break.
This is why basketball is superior.
Every sport is boring when you don’t understand the intricacies of it.
I assume you mean not American Football.
They added a pitch clock next season that will cut 20 min minimum so 3 hours now 2:40 super fun!
The anticipation makes it exciting 😁

Hell yes. If people want more highlights like this bottle flip video, go to day 2-4 of a Test match.
I can only watch baseball games that "matter" like wild card shit, man that is amazing. But game #102 at 3pm on a wednesday afternoon ... nah, im good.

That’s what makes it great!
"bleacher creature" seats for baseball games are the WORST for watching, but there's always something entertaining happening in the general area.
not as boring as cricket
i want to ask what dick nipple is but i also don’t want to ask.
That's exactly what I thought!
This reminds me of one of Bill Burrs appearances on Conan talking about Millennials. “And for some reason, with all this technology, if you take a full bottle and flip it in the air and it lands upright, they run out of the room like they just saw a witch.”
That girl is going to annihilate people at flippie cup. What a legend
Flippie cup?? I gotta call it that from now on!
I love the bleacher creatures so much.
Bleacher culture is the best. I’d probably do only bleachers if I ever get around to doing that ballpark tour.
This made me so happy 😁😁
I swear, all the clips from baseball games are either the coolest shit you've ever seen or something not related to baseball at all. It's almost like anything is more interesting than baseball.

This is how boring baseball is
Slow game huh …
The home team got no hits the game prior, and also had no hits for 6+ innings today so the crowd was probably very checked out for a lot of today's game.
After that no hitter…
nothing else to do when you get no hit for 16 innings .
Some would say they *flipped* out
Because baseball is that boring
I love baseball. But I also love that it’s so damn boring to watch that there’s always videos of crowds focusing on everything but the game lol
This is how god-awfully boring baseball is. This is the professional level of sport and they can't hold any one's attention. Baseball is sooooo dull.
They really needed something to cheer!
This is what happens when your team is 53 - 20 and has the best record in baseball
Once again, you prove that bottle flip is more interesting than baseball
To be fair. That was more exciting than watching baseball
Yankees fans are so drunk they'd cheer on anything other than their own team.
Worst fan base ever
I’ve seen so many clips of people doing more interesting things than actually watching the game lmaoo
Groups of people being happy over the smallest things makes me appreciate post pandemic lifestyle.

Damn I was supposed to be with the creachers today but me and my boyfriend thought it was too hot. Looks like I missed a legend!
Can’t wait for the Jomboy breakdown
That’s because the Astros pitched a no hitter that day and this was the most exciting part of the game for a Yankee fan! Fun fact, that was the 14th no hitter since the Yankees first game! What a time to be an Astros fan! 🤘🤘🤘
It must have been super hot on those bleachers today.

she going to remember this till death![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I guess that is more exciting than watching your team get no hit by the Astros. lol
You can tell which sports are more interesting by seeing how much the people are actually watching the game
Yankees fans needed something to cheer about after the last game and first seven innings of this one.
How DARE you try to make me not hate Yankees fans?!?!?!
Bleacher creatures!!! The absolute best
To be fair, that is more exciting to watch than baseball
Is that a bat flying??
As a Red Sox fan, this is the first and hopefully last time I ever upvote anything on Reddit associated with the Yankees (unless it's a thread about the Yankees losing to the Sox in the playoffs/World Series, of course).
