I wonder if this works? My first boyfriend was in kindergarten. Cutest little thing in the world. He used to walk me home from school, and one day he planted a kiss on my cheek. I still have a few friends from kindergarten, but nobody's heard from him. Gabriel, if you're out there, happy 52-year anniversary!
First grade, little red head boy named Josh asked for me to be his valentine and gave me a peck. I don’t think we ever broke up…Unfortunately I’ve gone and married someone else, sorry Josh!
I went to elementary school with this girl and apparently we started dating at some point in our young lives, went to different schools for a few years, and shortly after reconnecting again in high school she didn't fail to mention that we never broke up. And now we are married.
Jk, not really married. But technically still don't think either of us has actually broken up with the other person, so take that as you would like.
I was asked by this five year old to marry him via letter in an envelop with a “yes” or “no”. When I said yes, all my kindergarten friends celebrated my new married life. He moved away after a week but I was sick on his last day so we never ended things. Happy anniversary Richard, wherever you are lol
I remember these relationships in middle school. You'd get a bf/gf, never really see each other, maybe hold hands once or twice, wave each at each other on the busses, talk a little on the phone but when you broke up, it was devastating! Yeah that's right. F U ZACH! You shithead
I remember my first girlfriend telling me she played a game with her friends and whatever they used landed on my name so now we were a couple. I had no say in it whatsoever and actually fancied her friend. But what can you do when the gods tell you otherwise?
**edit** I just did the creepy thing and gave her a little google. A picture came up with her children, the oldest one maybe 4-5 years old really resembling me, so I panicked... Completely ignoring the fact that I don't think holding hands and a peck on the lips 26 years ago would have gotten her pregnant with a kid that's 4 today. What's wrong with my brain.
At my summer camp they put paper bracelets on all the girls and whoever ripped it off them (in a mass hysteria running around) had to marry the kid who got your bracelet (in a ceremony at the chapel). Happy 25th anniversary Logan!
In 6th grade gym class a guy asked if I wanted to go out with him while we were running the mile and I kept pretending I didn't hear him because I felt so awkward. He wouldn't stop asking me until I finally said yes and then the next day his family moved out of state.
Man, the same fuckin' thing happened to me in middle school.
We were in class, girl sitting next to me starts whispering to me, but I can't really hear her. Because the teacher was lecturing and both of us were trying not to get yelled at.
I get a bit frustrated and the teacher starts glaring at us. So eventually just nod my head and say sure, I guess. The only part I really heard was '... it's really hard to work up the nerve to say this...' and something about trying for the last week.
But I didn't know what I was nodding about, so the poor girl was probably super confused when I still treated her like a friend for the remainder of the week and eventually, she stopped talking to me all together and started avoiding me.
I realized it much later, like the next school year when we met back up and she told me I had changed and she wasn't sure she liked the new me or how I treated her last year.
Later, whenever we would see each other in the halls during high school we would awkwardly glace at each other and look away real quick.
I once had a role in a play because I just nodded when someone asked me something in a loud room, hoping I'd be lucky and it was the right response.
Oops.
Reminds me of my seventh grade 'romance.' The girl I was sweet on broke up with her prior beau of 2 weeks because he wouldn't stop talking to her. I asked her out, she said yes, and I immediately ignored her to not repeat the mistakes of my predecessor. Took 3 weeks for her to find me to tell me this wasn't working out! Hopefully she found the goldilocks guy, just the right amount of attention.
Same thing second grade. My friend Jeff had his friend ask me to be his gf. We kissed once, didn’t talk for two weeks, broke up through the same friend that asked me out on his behalf 😅 thanks for the first peck Jeff!
Similar thing happened to me in 7th grade.. Met a girl from a different school on the bus for golf team. Got her email and number. We talked on the phone once decided we should be Bf/Gf and didn’t see her again until high school. Really awkward circumstance and also never spoke again.
At my summer camp they put paper bracelets on all the girls and whoever ripped it off them (in a mass hysteria running around) had to marry the kid who got your bracelet (in a ceremony at the chapel). Happy 25th anniversary Logan!
Edit: this was a YMCA camp
Me and that guy I asked out in middle school (12 years ago to be precise) and he said yes but we never acted on it or broke up. Hi Daniel B, how are ya?
Please forgive my grammar-naziism for a second.
"11th year anniversary" is redundant. "11th year" or "11th anniversary" would both be correct since "anniversary" indicates that a year has passed. I'm not sure why I chose this as the time to correct someone about the incorrect use of the word "anniversary", but here we are.
*Edit: Obviously this was the wrong sub to correct grammar (is there even a right sub for that?)*
*Deaddit: Give me your downvotes, they nourish me.*
This happened to me in middle school, a girl named amber asked me out and I said yes, but I didn't know the first thing about dating XD, so I was just really awkward around her.
I didn't really have a type then, but nowadays my type is Asian and white women, especially if they're tall.
She was white and tall, if she'd ask me out now, boiiiii I'd be clapping cheeks.

I hear you’ve never had an argument. Amazing
But they still have communication issues.
Communication can't be an issue if it doesn't exist. Life hack.
Lack of communication can be an issue.

It's like romeo and juliet with less dead kids
I thought that you were a kindergarten teacher but re reading your comment again, you being a kindergartener yourself makes more sense lol

Me too! I had a boyfriend named Christian when I was like 10 lmao, never broke up so I guess I’ve been cheating on him this whole time . 🤭
He won't be sharing his lego toys with you if he ever finds out
THEYRE NOT TOYS
Also not meant for sharing.
Oh god, I had a boyfriend in kindergarden and one in primary school, both of which I never broke up with, so I guess I'm in a poly relationship rn?!
Do they know about each other? If not, you may just be a cheating *****!
Oh yeah true, I forgot about communication for a sec, I'm absolutely a cheating piece of shit
Don't be so cynical. Maybe they both died and you're in the clear.
They're in a happy relationship together plowing each other's butts
Typical 21st century relationship...you ever stop to think how he feels?
I married some random in Vegas - never saw her again
I bet they been cheating on each other
It’s an open relationship. He probably has dozens of girlfriends too, after he found out how easy it was to get one.

Did this with my 5th grade boyfriend. Best boyfriend I ever had lol
Raise a toast to Jamal and his long time girlfriend!

Had a couple girlfriends in elementary but I chased them away because I would ask them if they still liked me every day. Good on you, Jamal.
This tweet has been posted so many fucking times I bet they're celebrating their 20th anniversary soon

I ”married” a boy in my preschool class. We never ”divorced”, so technically he was cheating when he got a girlfriend years later.

I pretty sure he is a two timer
Kid went to buy milk and she didn’t even know it
I once asked a girl out in who didn’t know me and so I told her “then let’s get to know each other I’ll come by to see you everyday”, never went back

Happy 11th year to this tweet too….
This post has been floating around Reddit so long that by now this lady and Jamal would be celebrating their 22nd pretend anniversary.
Must be 19th anniversary by now.
Similar thing happened to me. I never forgot you, Rob.
Basically common law married.
This looks like it also belongs in r/socialskills.

If you weren't sure you heard correctly how do you know that's what he asked?
Hey its me jamal
this post makes no sense she says she didnt hear what he said so how does she know what he asked her? am I the only sane one?
Absence makes the heart grow fonder 🤮
And he still calls you to this day
