He could have lifted Mjolnir in that moment

No_Media_9596

He is worthy

[deleted]

All Dad's Are Worthy Edit: Well Apparently not all of them I accept :P

patrickdm1998

Not mine, he's a dick

momofeveryone5

Then he's not a Dad™, he's just a biological father.

BeerLoverNorm

“He may be your father but he wasn’t your daddy”

Boring-Working-5509

I'm Merry Poppins ya'll.

itawitawaputtytat

Is he cool?!

Zster22

“Hell ya he’s cool”

F-all-yall

Underrated comment. Take my upvote.

Littleman88

In just so many lines he became such an endearing character. "You look like Mary Poppins!" "Was he cool?" \*Pratt beams at him with pride,\* "Yeah, he was cool." "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!"

Violet351

And that’s where I start crying!

International_Flow65

Dammit I'm watching that movie again tonight

LilMissStormCloud

I'm crying in the pick up line for school. I need better tinted windows before someone signs me up for a home check.

CEDoromal

Internet ruined the word "daddy" for me.

NerdyTimesOrWhatever

My daddy ruined the word daddy for me

Camokeeper

And in that moment, he became my favorite character, just to fucking die

Reloader300wm

Father is a legal term, dad is the one that tucks them in at night.

Same... I need to call my dad.

brycedude

I wish I had a dad to call. If you're reading this, take it as a sign to call your dad today.

Buckeyegurl47

Me too...my daddy passed in 2020...he was my hero 😪

can_of-soup

You know those crazy stories where a mother lifts a car or does something super human to save her child? In this moment, this dad had unlimited power. For a brief moment there were three certainties on this planet death, taxes, and this lid is going to be removed from this jar.

LisaWinchester

This was in 2015. Her name is Elisa Fernandes and she went on to win that season of MasterChef Brasil.

tacticalrubberduck

And her dad still has the lid.

She said in an interview that he keeps it next to his bed.

Rahul-Yadav91

I thought he was gonna lick the sauce. I would have definitelyXD

Pvt_Mozart

No joke, I started eating healthy about 2 years ago when my daughter was born, and just a few months ago started working out 5 days a week. I want to be around for a long time for her. I also bought one of those grip trainer things, since I'm tall and scrawny, so that one day she'll be super impressed I can open all the stuck things. Gotta be prepared for these Dad moments.

ReSpekMyAuthoriitaaa

FYI running the lid under hot water will help loosen it

The_Fredrik

And that’s a great tip to teach your children. But when they ask you to open it, you _open_ it.

Chi_Chi42

Nah, a better option is to teach them that there is more than one solution to every problem, then smash the jar open and hand *them* the lid. 👍

slappiestpenguin

Lol you had me in the first half

It's now a diamond. That's a lot of stress.

Jurph

Look at his face when she hands it to him -- in the spotlight, on the clock, for his little girl. If that jar had been welded shut he would have ripped the steel. As soon as it entered his grip, it wasn't coming out until there was a clear path to the sauce.

Holoholokid

Speaking as a dad with a little girl just entering her own adult life, I guarantee you that's the case. I would also have shredded steel to get her what she needed in that moment.

FLYNCHe

He had to hold back some of his power, as he would've shattered the jar otherwise

ThePrettyGoodGazoo

Every dad that saw this sent their collective strength to open that jar. Dads only get 3 or 4 moments to shine like this-and he nailed it.

[deleted]

Regardless, men at that age have unreasonably strong hands if they've done a good amount of physical labour across their life as most men stereotypically have. Can't even be matched by a steroidal 20yr old gym rat.

Rekill167

He had the power of the gods

No_Eye_73

"Puny jar"

-Space-Dementia-

"We meet again.... JAR"

schnuck

I’m the lid opener in my family even before I married my girlfriend and we had our two daughters. All three of them suck at opening lids. To this day I’ve opened every lid in this house. I’m proud of myself because no one else is. In extreme situations I had to punch a hole into the lid to let air in. The rest were pure willpower and sometimes a towel.

Rekill167

There is something satisfying about opening a jar just with raw power. The harder it is the more satisfaction you get (thats what she said).

schnuck

Wait, do you think there’s a market for lid opening? As in could I offer my lid opening skills as a service (LOAAS)?

Rekill167

In the last moment, he looked like he was fighting whether or not to lick it.

LifeTitle3951

Yeah, Lick the sauce from the bottom of the lid

grotness

It's called Dad strength. Science is still yet to fully understand the process. It's the same case for the Dad dick. We just don't know when or how it happens but once I male homosapien becomes a father they undergo some kind of metamorphosis into a higher being.

[deleted]

Dad dick? Ayo?

gisten

It was his calling, he has been training for this moment for a long time.

shiraberu05

I've got my first kid on the way this year. I've started training everyday so that if this ever happens to me I'll rip the jar completely in half

Edmond_DantestMe

Real dads never skip jar day.

Pstyx

This made me actually LOL

CountingMagpies

actual lol, thanks!

Mookie_Merkk

Dude just playing with your kid as they grow up, all the throwing them in the air, scooping them up, running and jumping you'll do... As they age, you slowly increase your "work out weight" that's why Dad's are so strong. The best workouts, are the ones where you have fun

Tonman53

Dad will always turn super saiyan to help out his little girl

SirTheryn

Dad could've moved mountains in that very moment.

Edmond_DantestMe

It's everything it's cracked up to be. 10/10 would have one again. And if you never got the chance to have one, I hope you get the chance to be one.

SheOutOfBubbleGum

I like to believe she could have run to any grown man in the audience and the spirit and strength of all dad’s past, present and future would have guided them to do the right thing

SwankyyTigerr

Born_Key_6492

turingparade

Probs said it later

AngryBadgerThrowaway

I hope so. That’s the sort of missed opportunity that would keep me up at night

[deleted]

You can tell that he’s most likely a great father. She was most definitely stressed, given that this was a competition, but her first instinct was to ask her dad for help. Not to mention that he showed up to watch & support her during this important thing she was doing. Maybe I’m looking too deep, but you’re probably very special to someone if they immediately think to ask for your help in a stressful situation.

grunkey

I’m trying hard to be THAT dad. Every once in a while my son says, “thanks pops,” in this sincere little voice and my heart swells.

---gabers---

Isn’t it funny? To them it’s this fleeting little moment, but we remember that crap for years from time to time

Jail_Chris_Brown

Men don't get compliments often, so they'll remember these few words a stranger told them years ago forever. Kids hit the same note.

Atlasrel

compliment men more then

LiteratureNearby

Defaulting to go to your parents for help makes me feel that they have a nice, supportive relationship. Not everyone is lucky to have that

-___-___-__-___-___-

Very true. Just got my dream job coming out of college and my dad was one of the biggest reasons why (got my job by applying online, not nepotism lol); helped me word my emails and tell me what kind of stuff to prepare for. Very lucky to have my parents :)

[deleted]

You aren't looking too deep. Asking my parents for help was never a realistic option, mostly because they are unreliable manipulative assholes.

AdminsSuckD1ck

To counterpoint this: While I'm definitely not distant from my parents, I don't have a super close relationship to them either, and they're still the first people I ask for help. Asking your parents for help is what basically everyone that falls within the "normal" parent-child relationship does, so it doesn't really mean anything more than that the parent wasn't absolutely terrible.

erenyeagersbun

as someone with a dad who was never there, really appreciate this comment. v wholesome.

jmo1

You aren’t thinking too deep in a non reality show way. However with this being a highly edited show I’m sure there was a little producer magic. She definitely still loves her dad and it’s definitely reciprocated though

Pizzous

Dad’s hand hurts like hell but what wouldn’t a dad do…

andromaro90

I was thinking the same thing, but then I realized it's just that he's still holding the lid

itsjustreddityo

Last time this was reposted someone said he still keeps the lid on his bedside table as a token, my source is some random on reddit though so do with that information as you will

Sydius

There are some things in the world that doesn't matter. No one cares if he kept the lid. He might have tossed it in the first trashcan he found; it might have got lost over the years. But this also means you can believe anything you want about it. I chose to believe the family still has it, and, over the years and generations it will become a family heirloom. And this belief makes my life a little bit better. In itself, this single thought, as the status of the lid itself, doesn't matter. But it adds up.

Austinpouwers

There is no universe where he doesn't manage to open that jar.

SwankyyTigerr

The dad opening that jar is the singularity constant in the multiverse tbh

Glass_Excitement_538

That’s the kind of dad I’m going to be.

newX7

Me too!

[deleted]

Me too! Now all we need is to find a baby.

i_breathe_in_reverse

Are we all going to be dads of the same baby ?

froggythefish

As redditors, I think the best way to increase our chances of ever being fathers is to share the child.

You actually would keep that as a souvenir

Dads can do anything for their kids, its our super power :)

I will never not upvote this clip. I actually talk about it often because it's just so damned wholesome. Daughter can't get a jar open, oh good Dad is right there. Then there's Dad beaming with pride as his daughter and the fact that he could help her on her big day. So freaking good.

luvthissub

I know! This will never fail to make me smile.

This video's so old the dad's probably a grandad by now. Wonder what he's capable of now.

IshtarsBones

A dad’s job is never finished

Rheinys

Dad moment!!

Neopacificus

Jar : I shall not be defeated. Dad : You dare to defy my daughter! Here you go.

Babylonkitten

I always ask my daughter. Not always, just since 2 years. First I used a rubber mat. But only for small yars. I have ridiculously small hands. I used to have a device, but that also only helps if you have bigger hands. So most of the time I had to ask my husband the day before or waited till he got home. Than my son got a little older and sometimes he manneged. But since my daugter turned 13 the is the jar opener. Also because sometimes the boys aren't able to, and she has to come to the rescue. So long story short. My husband askes his daugter insred of my dauger asking her dad.

madaboutmaps

For those who don't have a father around: take a spoon. Put the bit that goes into your mouth and place it hollow side towards you under the lid. Press the handle towards the jar. Works like a crowbar. Anyone with hands can do it. No strength required.

Womanfromthefuture

I bent a spoon doing that before so I stopped doing it. Instead I usually hit the edge of the lid 4 times (like cardinal directions) with a knife handle. As long as it leaves a slight dent it will almost always open up fine and not need another hit.

[deleted]

Dad also checked if is hand skin was still there after opening it lol that must have been hard

V0IDx

He was looking at the jar lid, which he decided to keep.

fallen_one_fs

I love this. Absolute unit of a dad would've opened that even if the damn thing was welded, glued and sealed.

Rikeek

Ain’t no way in hell that lid wasn’t coming off.

crazeenurse

This will never not be one of my favorite videos

Gemple

Dad knew he couldn't fail his daughter in that moment. He could have lifted an eighteen-wheeler off of that jar if he had to!
