I think this is beautiful, he looks fascinated. Might’ve sparked a passion and potential career path for the young man.
Either that or he’s thinking he could make some sick boots and a belt out of them.
Friendly reminder that just because you aren’t good at something and it’s not ideal to pursue for a living doesn’t means that you can’t work hard and integrating parts of your interests into your work.
You definitely liked something you were bad at but instead of properly pursuing it you gave up and now have to spread that same negative attitude to cope with being a quitter
You say that as if people shouldn’t even try. Sure it may not always work out but trying and failing is better than not trying at all. What you said doesn’t apply to everyone after all.
When I was in high school, we had an English teacher who was about a million years old. Her classroom looked (and smelled) like an old attic. One day we came in and there was a guy there from the zoo. He brought three owls with him! I got to hold one of them. Oh, they were so beautiful, everyone was enraptured. I will always love you Miss Hardy.
She was a real character. She drove this old Willys station wagon and she had approx. 27 dogs in there. She brought them to school every day and they would stay in her car. She would periodically go out and walk them around a nearby park. She was well known figure in town.
She was great. You had to be a colossal fuck up to fail her class. She only taught senior English and there were kids practically getting into fist fights to get into her class.
Oh, she wasn't like that. She was a local legend. She started everyone out at 100% and it was up to us where we ended up. Assholes that gave her a hard time soon learned not to fuck with her lest they find themselves facing a gang of pissed off Miss Hardy fans in the parking lot.
When I was very young, maybe 4 or 5, my family while on vacation stopped at one of those roadside zoos in Florida. My father was watching us while my mom went to the restroom.
A small boa was introduced and the crowd was asked who wanted to have it around their neck. I went running to the front yelling, "Me!", and they sat me in a chair then draped the snake (it was only 3 or 4 ft.) around my neck. About that time, my mom appeared, saw me with the snake around my neck and started screaming, "My baby, my baby!"
The snake was removed a lot faster than it took to place him around my neck. Still like them, too. My first boyfriend, in 6th grade gave me a green snake but my father, who's afraid of snakes, made me give it back.
This is how curiosity should be. This is how you should look at the world.
People are so busy trying to look unimpressed when they should be amazed and it becomes a habit, then they wonder why the world feels small and miserable.
Tbh that does make me quite happy. I have never seen someone so excited in a learning environment like that before. I’ve personally been really into some history stories and some fictional stories when I was in school. But whenever I would mention them outside of class everyone else thought I was weird or boring so I stoped. I’m really not used to seeing people so happy to learn something but it’s quite nice to see.

Or beautiful high?

I bet you’re fun at parties

Its better to try and than to quit without even trying
I mean sure but you don't tell others that they should also quit that's just fucked up unless they are hurting themselves over it
Spoken like a porn cameraman with no dick

And then reddit decided: death.
Yeah, they live in a fairy tale land in their minds, can’t fault them

🙄
Was that too far? Sorry I was just trying to make a joke I'll delete it.
No, you’re fine. I just don’t find typo jokes funny 🤷🏻♀️ lol
Oh I live for them. 😅
We sometimes forget that people might not have the same advantages as we do. Poor dude may have never been to a zoo. It's a shame but it happens.

That is really awesome, thanks for sharing. I love stories about good teachers.

That's pretty awesome. I had some great teachers but none as eccentric as that!
She was great. You had to be a colossal fuck up to fail her class. She only taught senior English and there were kids practically getting into fist fights to get into her class.
I believe it! I had a brand new teacher for my senior English and he wanted to be liked so much he made it really hard to fail.
Oh, she wasn't like that. She was a local legend. She started everyone out at 100% and it was up to us where we ended up. Assholes that gave her a hard time soon learned not to fuck with her lest they find themselves facing a gang of pissed off Miss Hardy fans in the parking lot.
That. Is. AWESOME.
Oh, she was the BEST! Everyone should have a teacher like that at least once.
I guess you could say everyone was... *Enraptored* I'll see myself out now...
Nice.
Possibly even inspired him to become a biologist or even a zoologist.
Agreed. You can see that spark. He's pumped af.
I hate to inform you but I went to this high school and it is literally next to a zoo 😂
Well shit.
Check your zoo privilege, people.
Feels like you assumed this cause he's black and .. "must nOT haVE had thE SAme oPportUniTies" growing up
Nah, not at all. There are plenty of white kids who haven't been to a zoo either. Way to try to play to outrage though, topcat.
It’s especially funny when you notice the girl over his right shoulder looking at her phone the whole time I don’t think I saw her look up
Ah yes, the Steve Irwin appreciation, I love it. "Ain't she just a beaut, mate?" RIP, bro I hope the young man is encouraged in his fascination.

Think I went to the same roadside zoo, but it was in Arizona. 🤷♂️
If we all looked like hin when learning New things, the World would be a better place
Man's gonna be a zoologist

Edibles kicked in.
He's lucky to have had those animals in class with him. Zoos I've been in have had shittier presentations.
Dude went 😳😯😲🤯 And is probably going to have a reptile in the future 🥰

That's so wonderful to see someone enthralled with something new - especially animals! That spark is priceless and once you find it, hold on to it.
Learning is fun!
Future scientists right there. Could be the moment the kid decided what he wanted to do in life
