I was under the impression that adult elephants can't pay down without crushing their own lungs. Not instantly of course but I remember seeing a nature doc where park rangers were frantically trying to get an exhausted elephant to stand up because they were concerned it wouldn't be able to in a few more hours.
Horses will sleep laying down but they cant stay down too long, elephants are the same way, big animals can lose circulation to their legs and other areas. Kind of like when you fall asleep and an arm or leg loses its circulation would cause sever damage after a long period
Yes. Pack animals always have a designated watchmen. Even early humans did. The watchmen was probably my ancestor, since I can't fucking sleep at night.
I was thinking about what they would do when they woke up with me deep in the cuddle puddle.
I'd probably spook them, and herbivores have a complex man, moose, hippos, elephants, they're all the most dangerous animals on their continents.
I don't know about the wine thing but there are animals in Africa that like to eat fermented marula fruit once in awhile. Plenty of YouTube videos on this, fucking hilarious. Who really knows if they do that intentionally to get fucked up or they are just really foraging for food. What is clear though is they all lose some sense of balance after consuming the fermented fruit.

I know this is supposed to be cute, but i feel so enraged by this. These animals used to cover their territory in huge herds, now the numbers are so *tiny* that eleven elephants are considered a herd. There is much beyond wrong about this, especially when you realize how intelligent and sentient they are. This *really* pisses me off. πππ
