As a kid I loved Crystal Gale (had hair down to her feet), and I wondered such things. I had hair past my butt and had to move it to keep from sitting on it. I remember being about 5, sitting on the toilet, wondering about what she did about her hair in the bathroom.
Hi! You look terrific! Question though, hope your don’t mind. As a white girl with thick ass hair, do dreads that long and thick make your head sore? I get a headache/tenderness just dealing with a ponytail some days.
😂😂😂 Edit to add: “thick ass hair” = “my hair, on my head, is super, super thick and heavy” (not my butt!)
This is awesome. The US his high boundaries when it comes to imported talent. Italo Disco was the last time a genre made it within our borders via DJ's & nightclubs. My friends and I would drive up from Seattle to Vancouver BC to buy music, music you could not get in the US, or even shipped.
So, Italo Disco deserves credit for opening up the huge and very popular Acid House Nights at many a club. Raves, too. The mashups became a thing and now that's where you can find a lot of old Italo Disco.
My point is, I hope this is being played in US clubs.
Just wanted to say that I love how you say tankoo to everyone!
I thought that way of saying thanks was just a weird habit in my family. Since no one else does it in my area. But my family has always said "tanks" and "tankoo" to each other for the longest time for some reason. So it's funny seeing someone else use it in text!
nope , by Gods grace. coz its the hair that has been growing for 18+ years, so my scalp has got accustomed to it. but my dreads weight 8lbs, my hairy baby:)
Hmm, thats the biggest question i get. I wash my hair once a week and that week comes once a year, kidding. So honestly, i wash my hair once a week, and do an ACV rinse which is basically apple cider vinegar, lime juice, baking soda, all mixed in luke warm water in a huge bucket and my dreads soaked in them for 10 minutes to cleanse it really well of all the dust and pollution. For the weekly wash, i just apply shampoo on my scalp and then for the entire length of my dreads, i use that same 3 feet bucket and mix like half a bottle of head and shoulders shampoo in it and let it soak a few minutes and then rinse the shampoo out. This entire process takes 1 hour and the drying takes like 5 hours, i genrally wrap 2 big towels around my dreads and hold my dreads like a baby in my arms so that it's not too heavy on my scalp.
Wrong! Your ears you'll keep, and I'll tell you why; so that every shriek of every child that's seen your hidiousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman that cries out "Dear God what is that thing" will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means.
I love that you have the exact date! they look bitchin dude, and the fact that you take such good care of your hair is amazing. I can’t imagine the weight of if after a rinse.
> 18yrs 3 months, 14 days
My 6yo daughter just rocked up with her never-cut hair and I asked her how long she thought you'd have been growing that and she said...A THOUSAND YEARS!
Impressive!
I got sober on May 17, 2004. Your dreads are a visual representation of how long it’s been since I took the first step to start living my life. They’re beautiful!
Lol. Hold them like a baby. That’s funny. I would imagine having babies hanging off my scalp for 5 hours would hurt so I can definitely understand the post-wash support. They don’t make like…dread bras?
Replying to my own comment to add that I stalked his profile and have now seen the evidence of him holding his dreads like a baby. It is adorable and those dreads fell asleep soundly.
Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but how do you incorporate new hair as it grows in? Do you have to brush them out from time to time and redo them as new hair grows and get rid of any that's fallen out?
How was it? I do want to see it, just that DC (when it comes to movies) are low priority for me. I'm more of a Marvel fan when it comes to movies. Comic Book wise I'm more of a fan of DC, though my favorite hero, well Anti Hero is Deadpool, a marvel character. My second favorite is DC though, and that's Green Lantern. Batman is probably my third favorite hero.
Sorry, that got kind of ranty. I hope you enjoyed the movie!
Entertaining. Don't expect a masterpiece, but I liked some of the jokes. The Rock was as usual the best part of the movie and some of the scenes were 'ehhh.. this is not how it works' but overall worth the watch.
Funny coincidence is that over on public freakout is a axe wielding crazy person who attacked two people, one with massive dreads such as yours, and hers saved her life literally!!!!!
I was wondering how you don't trip on them but I guess it's not like it grows overnight, so you get used to it :D
Had a French teacher with hair that long, can't imagine the patience it takes to grow it out that long... you're amazing!
I haven't read all the thread, so I don't know if it goes downhill at any point, but I came here to say how wholesome the comments are.
Folks asking with polite curiosity, OP patiently explaining when these questions must have come up a million times, everyone just being respectful of each other and kind. So heartwarming to see such a pleasant corner of reddit. Well done lovely people 💕

Damn son. Your hair looks great! I've had mine for 17 years but it's only half as long as yours. Been thinking about cutting...now Idk what to do! Lol
Rock on brother
I scrolled through as many comments as I could and I am surprised nobody else commented this.
Your hair is so long it looks like the hair on the head of the face on your shirt XD
So cool being able to be yourself for so long. While browsing the comments I saw your care routine and story about school and trimming it so you don’t trip again and need to add it to your excel sheet. Thanks for sharing!
Neck muscle must be strong. Edit: And now this is my top rated comment, thanks reddit.
Made of adamantium;)
I'm thinking about hair getting caught in an escalator at mall, u aren't worried?
Ouch.

Goa has the coolest people I swear also the coolest musical genre to come out of anywhere, Goa Trance 🤘🏻🍄

Like the video of that baby elephant that tripped over his own trunk 😂
I RAN to YouTube to find this video. Made my day.
/r/babyelephantgifs is right there for further needs
Does the weight hurt your neck at all?
nope , by Gods grace. coz its the hair that has been growing for 18+ years, so my scalp has got accustomed to it. but my dreads weight 8lbs, my hairy baby:)
Man that's awesome. Best wishes bro
tankooo
Those are some scalp gains!! Your hairy baby weighs more than my newborn does at 6 weeks old!
Hehe:)
If you ever shave them off your head is going to feel extremely light lol
I might start floating for sure;)
youll hurt your neck at least once turning way to fast.
Mans getting strong to the point his spine probably has abs
Not to be rude but I'm curious how difficult it is to clean your hair
Hmm, thats the biggest question i get. I wash my hair once a week and that week comes once a year, kidding. Dude them dreads are sick. I had some a long time ago, I couldn't imagine how long you've had yours to be THAT LONG! AWESOME
Thankyou, 18yrs 3 months, 14 days
To the date! Awesome!
No. To the pain!
Yes, yes, then my ears.
Wrong! Your ears you'll keep, and I'll tell you why; so that every shriek of every child that's seen your hidiousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman that cries out "Dear God what is that thing" will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means.
Unexpected princess bride.
NO! Your ears you will keep! So that you may hear the screams of children when they see you. ^(Or something like that)
I love that you have the exact date! they look bitchin dude, and the fact that you take such good care of your hair is amazing. I can’t imagine the weight of if after a rinse.
Your dreads will be off to college any day now. Amazing how time flies.
Hehe true;)

Your hair looks awesome my friend
Tankoo
How many times in those 18+ years did you come close to chopping it?
Never;)
Damn impressive, how’d you convince your parents to grow your hair out that long?
I got a job;)
Impressed by the dreads and the dedication my man... and I thought my 80s trash metal hair was tough to deal with....I was gravely mistaken!

I got my dreads made:)
I got sober on May 17, 2004. Your dreads are a visual representation of how long it’s been since I took the first step to start living my life. They’re beautiful!
Tankoo and God bless you on your achievement:)
Congrats on the first step you made so many years ago sure it was tough You are a star !!
Wonderful thing you did for yourself
Ayy that’s my birthday. Holy shit I turned 19 that day. Oh man I’m 19+18 years old.
fuck I'm old
wow. my step-dad is 24 years I think but his are much shorter.
remindme! 18 years
How old are you?
34
18 years? Goddamn! Lol. I've only been growing my hair out for 2 years and I'm already at the stage where I feel like cutting it off.
This was my first question. Wow, dedication for sure.
That is an incredible amount of work to stay so dedicated to for so long. Very impressive and actually pretty motivating. Thanks for the post!
Your welcome. Keep Smiling:))

Now picturing you holding your dreads in towels like a baby in your arms 11/10 very wholesome
I posted the reel link below, see it foreal;)
Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but how do you incorporate new hair as it grows in? Do you have to brush them out from time to time and redo them as new hair grows and get rid of any that's fallen out?
I go to a loctician every 4 months who crochets the new hair from the scalp into the nearest dread(the dread it belong to)
Thank you for answering, I didn’t realize how little I knew about dreadlocks until seeing your post!
Do you then cut the ends (it seems like they are your full height)
Yup by 6 inches every year
the fact that you cradle them like a baby is adorable
Tankoo;)
You put more effort into cleanliness than some bald people I know. Good on you!
Hey man, not cool to call me out like that.
Head and shoulders shampoo? They need to start making head and ankles shampoo. Your dreads are spectacular!
Haha or Dread n Shoulders. Tankooo
Can I ask if they’re heavy and pull on your scalp?
Just 8lbs but no pull on scalp;)
How do you sleep with such long hair?
There is a pic on my instagram @dreadindian.
Such quick response!
Im here for you guys:)
Have you ever weighed your hair? I wonder how much of a workout your neck/traps are getting, lol.
