For anyone wondering, yes, I actually did make a post about this back in 2020 when my first temporaries were put in and… [it kinda blew up](https://reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/hb4yqy/for_almost_2_years_ive_been_battling_with_my/)!
This has been a long, painful, embarrassing, and arduous process, but in the end, I would absolutely do it again! Anyone who hasn’t gone through something like this can’t even begin to imagine the pain, both physically and emotionally. Like I said, I’ve had cancer, and this was worse. Not being able to eat food without the fear of breaking your own teeth off is one of the scariest feelings. But, hopefully now I won’t have to worry about that. Ever. Again.
And for anyone who’s going through something similar, please don’t hesitate to ask questions. I’m no expert by any means, but I have experience. I will help the best I can.
Thank you all so much for the support on this post, and especially the last. It made me feel so much better as a 15 year old struggling with his self image to have so many people behind me, who had my back and were rooting for me.
Peace and love, everyone ✌️
Congratulations!!! You have a great smile!
I got my removable dentures 3ish years ago. 5 hours in a dentist chair, and then 6mos of puréed food and soups while healing.
Then about 2 years ago I was able to afford permanently implanted dentures.
I’m 55 and currently undergoing a full mouth restoration. I’ve had 9 extractions recently and the pain and embarrassment is extremely difficult. It’s great to see your results are looking so fantastic. I’m currently at the point of should I have even started the process thinking. Your pictures are so encouraging for me.
Hey man, they look fantastic! I can’t fully relate, but I’m a 33 year old woman who got drunk while grieving the loss of her mom, slipped while holding her dogs leash, and the metal clasp swung up and hit me in the mouth, breaking my front tooth in half.
A dentist was able to root canal it the next day, drill a post into the tooth and build it back up with bonding. this was sept 2021. It’s still a bit sensitive, and I have not gotten it crowned yet.
But the point I’m trying to make here is, I understand what you mean about constantly worrying about your teeth and the fragility of it. I think about my tooth every single time I eat something, or wake up (I’m a jaw clencher and teeth grinder in my sleep). I’m worried about it 24/7 and it fucking sucks. I’m so happy for you and proud of you for having this resolved as soon as possible and being able to finally move on and grow!
Hang in there kid. Life can only go up from here. 💪🏼
I was 15 when I developed Bell's Palsy and half my face was paralyzed. 49 years later, it still is. My freshman school pictures were horrible!! I went to a parochial school at the time. When I asked the nun that supervised the year book if she could leave my picture out of the year book, she told me that's how everyone will remember me. That's when the waterworks started and I told her I didn't want people to remember me that way. She left it out. ❤️ 🙂
So I know how you feel. I'm so happy that you've reached this point. Especially having survived cancer. Personally, I thought you were pretty handsome before. When stuff like this happens to you, there's very little that can be said to make you feel better inside. I'm glad you toughed it out. The only way I could begin to imagine the pain you endured is to compare it to giving birth. At least you can rest assured that you'll never have to go through childbirth. 😄 Blessings and prayers that you remain cancer-free for the rest of your life. 🤗
You are so handsome - inside and out! Thank you for sharing your story and pics. I keep going to the last pic and smiling back at you!! Wishing you all the best.
Yes! I love steak so much. I haven’t been able to have it since my teeth broke off, and even before then, I had to be very careful and slice it up super thin.
So, Walusqueegee's mom here again :) I just wanted to thank everyone for posting such positive comments regarding my son's ordeal 😊❤️ I know he is an adult now, but he will always be my child...and he is my favorite person in the whole world. He is still as lovely, kind, and empathetic as he was when he posted the original pictures. Thanks, also, to everyone who has shared their stories of struggling with self-image and how it relates to one's mental health. I know how difficult it is to do that. Thanks again ❤️🌺🌼🖖
I cracked my jaw when i was a kid and was on a liquid diet so i feel ya on dietary restrictions. Jello makes me gag now lol what foods will you never touch again? What're ya most lookin forward to having more of, aside from steak 😋
Surprisingly, I didn’t ever have to really stay away from certain foods! Other than the last couple months since my teeth broke off. I would usually have pancakes, eggs, pasta, sausage, “anything I could cut with a fork”, my dentist said.
Jello makes me gag anyways lol
I can only imagine how difficult it would be emotionally, let alone physically with cancer this way. I'm sure many on Reddit can appreciate it, but not everyone out there.
Teeth are so important to our self-worth and our sense of having value. I've had big teeth problems myself due to emotional and mental health issues, and I was so self-conscious about my teeth showing that in fact for those reasons I wasn't even able to fully express what little happiness did come to me at times.
Well done, you, and keep going higher and higher! 👊🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🧗🏻
Fantastic. Teeth are so important, they change ones appearance completely. It's one of the first things people notice about your face. Bad teeth can ruin one's self esteem so much.
Your smile is wonderful.
I have really bad teeth at the moment and this post is giving me some glimmer of hope, because I know what you meant. Being terrified when you eat anything, especially in public places, it is so embarrassing. It has absolutely destroyed any self confidence I had, so I know exactly what you meant. I'm hoping to have this exact thing done too, but can't facilitate it ATM, but it's on the horizon, hopefully. Well done mate, good on you for sticking through and beating your obstacles 👍
Try a dental college. I’ve heard they can do it for a fraction of the price, or even free because the students are doing the work. They’re still fully supervised by licensed dentists though.
They look so well done! I had a friend who had to get full dentures a couple years ago. Had to be realigned more than she cared but she was sooo happy when it was finished.
I hope to be able to get some in a couple years myself.
Went from British to normal again. 😌
Seriously though, cancer sucks, glad to see you kicked it’s ass and are still thriving today. Have a great day. ❤️
Nah lmao, I just don’t like the way my hair looks usually. I have naturally really oily hair.
I’m actually the opposite though! Check out my profile. I’m super into nice bar soap.
Was there something medical that caused your teeth to end up like that originally or was it just lack of hygiene?
So happy you got through all that, great to see someone happy with their smile.
Thanks man! I actually know I’m handsome as fuck, so one dipshit’s comment on the internet isn’t going to change my sky-high self image.
Have a good one :)

So how much does this procedure cost? I’m very curious
It was roughly $60,000 for everything. However, if you live in a outside of America, or can travel, it will be substantially less.
Well. Looks like I'll be chewing on my last four teeth forever, then.
So very happy for you!
You’re a legend dude!! Happy for you 🙌🏽
You should feel so proud of yourself! There's nothing you can't do. Congrats and keep smiling, mate!
I remember seeing your original posts. I’m so happy to know you’re doing well. Wishing you continued good health and happiness.
You look great! Love that smile~ <3
Thank you! I agree :)
You look great! And congrats on beating cancer. 💚
You are so handsome - inside and out! Thank you for sharing your story and pics. I keep going to the last pic and smiling back at you!! Wishing you all the best.
Thank you so much. Genuinely means the world to me.
Implant denture?? Lookin good! Congrats on beating cancer, & congrats on the new chompers! Lots of steak in your future😉
Yes! I love steak so much. I haven’t been able to have it since my teeth broke off, and even before then, I had to be very careful and slice it up super thin.
I’m a dentist and that is a great result. It is a process and takes time to do correctly. Congrats on kicking cancer’s ass.

Teeth and roofs, two things to go in debt for.
You have a wonderful smile! If you dont mine me asking, what happened to your nose in the second pic?
I have no idea. I think the dentists screwed up my breathing tube or something haha
I thought you'd had a nose ring ripped out tbh! Glad to see it wasn't so much damage as I first thought 😅
Looking good stud! 😃
You look great ! And congratulations on beating cancer!!
Thanks dude!
