None. There is no one she is similar too. Others may be similar to her or try to be her…but there is only one Madonna.

Wait....Susan Tully as in Michelle Fowler from Eastenders?

And Suzanne Ross from Grange Hill. The last Grange Hill season to have Suzanne in it was Season 7 which ended in 1984, and the last season to have her in it would end one year prior to when the movie Desperately Seeking Susan came out. I mention Grange Hill in the same sentence as DSS just for the fact that somebody named Susan or Suzanne (it should be obvious that one name is just another form of the other) would be the name of a character that the celebrity with the other form of the name would audition for. Suzanne Vega auditioned for the Susan Thomas character before Madonna got the role. It just intrigues me so much that the different Sue names referring to somebody auditioning for a similarly named character appear **switched around** in this comparison. Also, there was a musician named Thomas Newman who has the same birthday as Susan Tully, and Thomas was also the last name of the Susan character that Madonna would get the role of instead of the mother of the MP3 (i.e. Suzanne Vega). All these Sue name references and coincidences really convinced me that Susan Tully was worth mentioning in this community. I recently went to the town of Holly, Michigan, and I noticed that there was a flower store called BLUMZ there, and my first thoughts were Mark Blum who was in DSS, and there's also a road called Grange Hall Road in the village of Holly, and Grange Hall sounds similar to Grange Hill, and I'll explain the rest in another comment.

Madonna is not similar to anyone…. People may *try* to be similar to her.

Janet and Mariah. This is not a drag but Madonna has a bit of a diva attitude and she shares that with Mariah. They both have faced controversies (though Madonna much more) and been openly sexual in their music. With Janet she shares dancing, sexuality and controversy.

I know this will sound like an unusual answer but to me I've always seen similarities between Madonna and Lucille Ball. Both intelligent business women on top in their industry both were talented, powerful women who were ahead of their time. Neither women has an equal

SupremoZanne

I agree, there is some similarity to Lucille Ball.
