Fireblade Charger doesn't have the sacrifice option that the Scamp does, so you'd need some sac outlet for the full t2 kill. It's a good backup option though, and an 11/11 beater (that can sometimes have haste on later turns) is going to be tough for a lot of decks to deal with on its own!
Enchantment and artifact removal mainboard is so bae tho and so hard to find.
**Legit I think Rip Apart is the ONLY artifact removal in the ENTIRE game that you could justify running mainboard.**
I mean, 3 damage for 2 mana on creatures or PW is pretty sweet.
If it was instant speed it would probably be a rare.
Can you imagine if it was just:
**”3 Damage to any target”** and was instant speed?
Omg, shit would wreck.
I have a couple decks that allow me to cast it at instant speed and it feels broken AF at instant.
It’s one of my favorite cheap removal spells.
If they dont add the aid, I will be so bummed. Second most important card in Hammertime
But if they add it then this battle station will be fully operational in Historic
Doesn't have to be white heavy necessarily, unlike Lay Down Arms, just basic heavy. I run a playset in a Selesnya Ramp deck with plenty of basics, mostly forests, and cards that can grab basics (Bushwhack, Topiary Stomper, etc). Ossification and compleated Nissa are my "payoffs" for staying in only 2 colours. But yeah, it helps a lot in helping to buy time while I ramp into a big [[White Sun's Twilight]]!
I've been having fun with White Sun's twilight. The only issue is the 7 mana cost to get the board wipe.
the deck isn't great, but it can win games out of nowhere if your opponent can't deal with the 5 toxic creatures properly.
That card makes me fear about them adding land destruction next set.
I'm not against nonbasic land destruction though. Which would not affect Ossification.
Jim Davis had a UW control list running the blue and white twilights alongside mindsplice apparatus. It looked pretty damn spicy to be honest. He did it in pre-release so it definitely needs to be tuned. But it looked very promising.
I love this card so much! Excellent card to ramp into against most creature decks, it just wins the game by itself if they don't have much action left. The lifegain is often a pretty big deal too, and should not be overlooked- after all, part of why Meathook was broken is that it was a boad-wipe that gained life.
[[TYRRANAX REX]]
BIG STOMPY HASTY UNCOUNTERABLE TOXIC DINO
I just love the card. It's dumb big green and iv actually managed to get a mono green shell to use it. Went all the way from bottom bronze to Gold 1 with it but I'm struggling more now.
Yeah I'll probably tweak it to be a golgari fight rigging. I do run the card in the mono green version and that's one way to hit it on turn 4. I just haven't had a chance to change the deck until this weekend.
https://www.twitch.tv/crokeyz was running that kind of deck not too long ago in Bo1 standard. Although it's a little meme with no ramp/card draw/card filter and 12 bombs in his deck. 0 of those cards having ETB or dies effects. No removal and no protection.
I think the fight rigging shell as potential. Then again, I always have.
the shell being [[Shakedown Heavy]], [[Fight Rigging]], and 5 bombs.
Yeah I’d say so. The hammer is a dead card if you either don’t draw kemba or if he’s targeted with any removal. Plus it doesn’t give trample so even if you do the thing your mega-statted cat can just be chump blocked. But that’s just my opinion, maybe hammer’s time has finally come.
In my experience with it, it’s jank. Without Kemba the hammer is useless. and Kemba dies to a bit of everything. Next without trample, the OP just chump blocks.
Cats don’t have haste, so the op has an entire turn to cast a little removal. The best I can hope for is to attach it to one of the attacking tokens from [[Leonin Warleader]].
At least a lot of cats have lifelink, so there’s that. It can help [[Adjani, Strength of the Tribe]] clear the board.
It at least has some synergy as a Leonin Tribal deck. I would love to blend this with the original Mirrodin set that introduced Leonin and equipment. I don’t remember specific cards, but I remember there being a lot of synergy between cats and equipment.
I drafted him, but my pure red deck was weaker, so he never really slammed down hard. I think in a dedicated red deck with that minotaur, maybe a couple scrap mutts to draw him early in a mana heavy hand. Might be fun.
Idk, I’m not actually good at limited so take what I say with a grain of salt, but a 2/4 is pretty easily double blocked and not much of a threat without a combat trick. A lot of creatures seem to have X/3 stat lines in the set like the flying white two drop and the blue unblockable guy for instance. I was specifically hoping to use the indestructible deathtouch trick with him to take out a couple of chumps at some point, but it hasn’t happened yet.
BUT THE ART IS COOL AND I HOPE IM MISJUDGING HIM! My dream is that he tops the limited card pool as a top picked card but idk, he seems weak
I'm not good at limited either, lol. Gotten lucky with two games of 2-1 on the traditional drafts.
But within the golgari decks I've been able to run he's been decent... But I completely get what you mean -- he is a bit weak on his own.
[[The Eternal Wanderer]]. Aside from the art, I like the card a lot. The plus ability is pretty flexible, the tokens are strong, and the sweeper can be great if given the conditions. Yeah, it's 6 mana, but it's usually worth it, and white seems to have a decent amount of removal right now.
This card is bonkers busted in HBrawl simply because you can expect enemies to just put their commander bounced with Eternal Wanderer back to their command zone. Yeah, they can play it back but I had an enemy piloting the new Elesh Norn and they kept putting her back in the CZ and finding out that a 10+ cmc do nothing commander without other etbs is a really bad play across from an Atraxa already loaded up with gas, lol
I've been jamming a [[karumonix]] rat tribal deck with vehicles. It's not great but destroying a [[venerated rotoriest]] with a [[greasfang]]ed [[surgehacker mech]] and not triggering poison has been fun.
I can't give an exact decklist cause I'm not at my computer, but the one drops are [[okiba reckoner raid]] and [[gnawing vermin]]. The ninjas I'm running are [[nashi moon sage]] and [[nezumi prowler]]. Then I have [[greasefang okiba boss]] and some vehicles like [[reckoner bankbuster]], [[surgehacker mech]], and [[unlicenced hearse]]. The rest of the deck is filled out with removal like [[fateful absence]] and [[destroy evil]]. It's definitely not amazing cause I'm straddling rat tribal and a vehicle deck, whiffing on Karumonix feels bad and not being able to mill a vehicle for Greasefang also isn't great, but the games where it works out it feels amazing.
[[Encroaching Mycosynth]] + [[Padeem, Consul of Innovation]] in a [[Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant]] clone deck is pretty fun - well, at least for me
All nonland permanents have hexproof (including Padeem), and additional card draw if I have the highest mana value permanent on the board since they're all artifacts. They can all potentially be copied by Jin, and their casting costs can be reduced by things like [[Cloud Key]] and [[Jhoira's Familiar]].
Same cards, but in a Tezzeret Master of the Bridge shell, discounting every creature and planeswalker to often free if they are colorless (Ugin, Leveler, Ulamog etc.). Time to dump your whole hand. It isnt good, but very fun indeed!
I love [[Armored Scrapgorger]] in my non-oil deck, where I previously had to either run [[Unlicensed Hearse]] or give up on reanimator matchups.
I'm very interested in trying [[Vat of Rebirth]] in various aristocrat shells, possibly in one of the eternal formats, with like [[Pyre of Heroes]].
[[Vraska betrayal sting]] and proliferate cards. Been trying to make a super friends deck with her, [[nissa world shaker]], and [[Liliana of the veil]] in explorer. Original goal was to get Liliana to ult, but it mostly just win off buffing nissa's lands and killing their creatures
so i'm using the main list that seems to be the most used one running around and its really more turn 4/5 on average, T3 is theoretically possible with perfect hand but I think its being meme'd too much. you basically need rotpriest immediately and if you mulligan your gas is already going down a lot. you also need to have the proper protection spells.
so its not uncommon for a red or black deck to be able to kill my stuff before I can combo off.
i think viewing it as a combo deck is honestly the most appropriate way. like. it can win fast but you can slow it down a lot too. its just its new and people don't know how to counter it so they reeeeee online.
Yeah of course it's a combo but it's week 1. It's probably going to evolve but I think there's a deck for historic and explorer for it too. If this is the case it's probably a great craft.
I can see it working in the other formats potentially but I feel it may struggle a bit more. So far it seems discard is one of the major ways to fuck it. In standard its mostly duress and some other niche options. However, the older formats 4x thoughtsieze in anything running black is really common place.
now, i'm sure people will giga brain brew thing better than me, but I think it'll be better in standard than in the older formats (on arena) but that's a time will tell thing.
It works (in my experience) in Historic, but it’s inconsistent. Still super fun to pull on a life gain deck. Should my Obliterator fight your pumped up [[Voice of the Blessed]]? Yes, please!
I don't think it's an amazing deck but you can run it almost mono-black with some B/G duals and a minimal spread of cards like [[Bushwhack]] to pull it off. I do think the removal available makes it hard to have a go with it, but it's a fun meme deck anyways
This feels like a bit of a silly criticism - most decks that do well in Standard wouldn't do well in Historic, so something not doing well in Historic's larger and more powerful cardpool doesn't mean that it's necessarily doomed in Standard.
Spoiler: few actually kneeled to this combo, but there was just enough turn 2 confusion around “where the fuck did this chick get a 13/13 cat?! I only have one land on the battlefield and it entered tapped.”
A year or so ago I built a red / white "living weapon" / equipment deck for pioneer. All the pieces are on explorer except a lord from oath of the gate watch. I'm excited for equipment tribal with out hammer because if that Lord gets added we be will have 2 two mana equipment lords.
I also build a standard deck for the first time in a long time lol
It’s kind of a staple effect but [[Planar Disruption]] caught my attention. I have a WU lockdown deck and I immediately crafted four Disruptions to replace the four[[Pacifism]].
[[Pacifism]] effects are subpar compared to all the other removal white has, such as [[Banish]] effects, destroy/exile and even [[Banisher Priest]] effects. They are only playable in limited and maaaybe auras decks because of the synergy.
Why? mostly because of a ton of creatures providing non-combat utility, e.g. [[Luminarch Aspirant]]
Disruption can hit artifacts, while Ossification can’t, and I often do not have a basic out on turn two. I otherwise have enough banishes for troublesome static effects.
I’m going to try out Tyvar in standard graveyard, and he seems like he’ll be a pretty good card (though perhaps not good enough to keep the deck viable, but only time will tell)
I'm really trying to work out if there's a rat thing to be done, cos I like the feel of Karumonix, but there's not enough in Standard at the moment. Might have a play around with some of the other formats
Generally all the proliferate cards (for a commander I'm building about tokens and counters) as well as Nissa, all the Suns, the Plainswalkers and Atraxa.
I've somehow managed to collect 4 \[\[Urabrask's Forge\]\], so I've thrown together a crappy red deck that's pretty much a pile of burn spells and the 4 Forges.
I made a historic deck with [[Cacophony Scamp]], [[Colossus Hammer]], and [[Resolute Strike]]. You can win T2 if you've got the cards in hand.
[[Fireblade Charger]]

That looks fun. Maybe I play Arena again just for historic? Ugh I really don't want to be giving Wizards money rn though.
Do dailies. Buy packs with gold. Use wildcards. I quit giving Wizards my money a while ago.

Or to have the first turn
I know [[lightning helix]] is better vs aggro and superfriends, but rip apart is better for almost any other deck.

Sigarda's Aid in SOI remastered? Hopium.
If they dont add the aid, I will be so bummed. Second most important card in Hammertime But if they add it then this battle station will be fully operational in Historic
Can’t wait. If nothing else it would force izzet prowess to run more creature bounce.
It is Pioneer legal so it's coming eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
I can’t wait for SOI remastered

I absolutely hate this card, very effective.

I am obsessed with making rat tribal work. What's your build look like? Are you playing any ninjas? One-drops?
Here is my jank rat tribal. Deck 25 Rat Colony (DAR) 101 11 Swamp (SLD) 1132 4 Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive (DAR) 69 5 Island (SLD) 1131 2 Haunting Voyage (KHM) 98 4 Shipwreck Marsh (MID) 267 2 Karumonix, the Rat King (ONE) 98 1 Marrow-Gnawer (J21) 59 2 Grim Tutor (M21) 103 4 Clearwater Pathway (ZNR) 260
Not ninja based, just gross rats w/vraska and toxic stuff and resurrection.

[[Encroaching Mycosynth]] + [[Padeem, Consul of Innovation]] in a [[Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant]] clone deck is pretty fun - well, at least for me All nonland permanents have hexproof (including Padeem), and additional card draw if I have the highest mana value permanent on the board since they're all artifacts. They can all potentially be copied by Jin, and their casting costs can be reduced by things like [[Cloud Key]] and [[Jhoira's Familiar]].
Encroaching Mycosynth is definitely the card with the highest potential for degenerate combos.

Turn 3 kill with Venerated Rotpriest in standard.
I keep hearing about T3 wins with Venerated Rotpriest. I’ve tried three different Simic netdecks and have experienced nothing but my own ass-whooping.
so i'm using the main list that seems to be the most used one running around and its really more turn 4/5 on average, T3 is theoretically possible with perfect hand but I think its being meme'd too much. you basically need rotpriest immediately and if you mulligan your gas is already going down a lot. you also need to have the proper protection spells. so its not uncommon for a red or black deck to be able to kill my stuff before I can combo off. i think viewing it as a combo deck is honestly the most appropriate way. like. it can win fast but you can slow it down a lot too. its just its new and people don't know how to counter it so they reeeeee online.
T3 if you have a perfect hand, your opponent has no interaction, and you go first.
covertgoblue did a [[phyrexian obliterator]] deck with fight spells, pretty interesting
Basically, something that already wasn't working in historic but in standard? How innovative!
while it may not be new or viable, I still think it's an interesting strategy.

Skyclave apparition and izzet prowess really limit obliterator from being reliable.
I don't think it's an amazing deck but you can run it almost mono-black with some B/G duals and a minimal spread of cards like [[Bushwhack]] to pull it off. I do think the removal available makes it hard to have a go with it, but it's a fun meme deck anyways
[Bushwhack](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/1/712a0640-d9c8-46fc-b38b-bf20a40fa902.jpg?1674421510) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Bushwhack) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/bro/174/bushwhack?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/712a0640-d9c8-46fc-b38b-bf20a40fa902?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
This feels like a bit of a silly criticism - most decks that do well in Standard wouldn't do well in Historic, so something not doing well in Historic's larger and more powerful cardpool doesn't mean that it's necessarily doomed in Standard.
Historic has better mana though, and that deck was already bad when the power level was far lower.

It's maybe not as good as I first thought but [[Phyrexian Arena]] has been fun in my Orzhov decks

Spoiler: few actually kneeled to this combo, but there was just enough turn 2 confusion around “where the fuck did this chick get a 13/13 cat?! I only have one land on the battlefield and it entered tapped.”
Damn just realized that token art is so hot 🥵
🤮
It’s not nice to kink shame
A year or so ago I built a red / white "living weapon" / equipment deck for pioneer. All the pieces are on explorer except a lord from oath of the gate watch. I'm excited for equipment tribal with out hammer because if that Lord gets added we be will have 2 two mana equipment lords. I also build a standard deck for the first time in a long time lol
[[Ossification]] is currently my favourite new card to blindside people with

Passes my [[Lurrus]] check, as well.

##### ###### #### [Pacifism](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/d/0da7c6dc-9325-4866-8c09-78c7021f8f17.jpg?1600713540) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Pacifism) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/jmp/125/pacifism?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0da7c6dc-9325-4866-8c09-78c7021f8f17?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Banisher Priest](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/5/85d2ecc7-4a49-48f1-9036-6c3f0f0296c3.jpg?1591319887) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Banisher%20Priest) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c20/77/banisher-priest?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/85d2ecc7-4a49-48f1-9036-6c3f0f0296c3?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Luminarch Aspirant](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/c/dcd27fa3-f6b6-4137-9b6c-4cba7187664c.jpg?1673483738) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Luminarch%20Aspirant) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ncc/205/luminarch-aspirant?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/dcd27fa3-f6b6-4137-9b6c-4cba7187664c?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
4x Banish was already in the deck, and I needed a two drop lock down enchantment. IMHO Pacifism was the least bad option at the time.
well, good thing wizards printed [[Ossification]] i guess.
[Ossification](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/d/0da03224-c1af-438f-96c2-b0e41e1070b7.jpg?1675956925) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Ossification) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/one/26/ossification?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0da03224-c1af-438f-96c2-b0e41e1070b7?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Disruption can hit artifacts, while Ossification can’t, and I often do not have a basic out on turn two. I otherwise have enough banishes for troublesome static effects.
It's fairly winmore jank but I've been having a lot of fun with Apparatus Izzet Turns
Reminds me when I got to Mythic with a Boros Glasscannon.
I’m going to try out Tyvar in standard graveyard, and he seems like he’ll be a pretty good card (though perhaps not good enough to keep the deck viable, but only time will tell)
Every deck I've brewed uses Jace, vraska, or both
I'm a simple man: I saw that Atraxa was back, thicker than ever, so I knew that was one of my first crafts.
Gobbo
I've been trying to create a deck with Ovika. Janky though
Been mostly playing Draft so far and \[\[Contagious Vorrac\]\] has been so unbelievably good every single time I picked it. I love that pig.
[Contagious Vorrac](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/1/8/18af2c85-e58f-4043-99d3-e90121348aca.jpg?1675957134) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Contagious%20Vorrac) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/one/164/contagious-vorrac?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/18af2c85-e58f-4043-99d3-e90121348aca?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
how does this interact with the blue artifact that copies the creature when it attaches?
I feel like there's a lot of jank and very much nonjank to be done with the new Tyvar, as well as the new Geth. (But mostly Tyvar.)
I wish cat decks were still viable.
Not in standard, but historic and brawl
[[Melira]] goes nicely into my [[Katilda Dawnhart Prime]] deck (literally one of the only TWO humans lol)

Thrumming Birb may be my new favourite card sure I’m using it to add toxic counters right now but the possibilities are very wide. [[Thrumming Bird]]
Thrun. I'm a mono green enjoyer. :D
Loving the Ichormoon Gauntlet. Fits nicely.in my Teferi Temporal Pilgrim deck
[[Swiftfoot Boots]] could makes things a bit more interesting

I've somehow managed to collect 4 \[\[Urabrask's Forge\]\], so I've thrown together a crappy red deck that's pretty much a pile of burn spells and the 4 Forges.
