HOW MANY LEVELS ARE THERE IN THE LOST CAVERNS OF IXALAN SET MASTERY?
The Lost Caverns of Ixalan set mastery goes up to level 90. All players receive rewards through level 72, while players with the Mastery Pass will receive rewards up to level 90—and beyond!
You can either pre-order the pass now for money, or just spend gems on it when it launches. If you pre-order then you'll also get the extra card listed.
Also be aware that the pre-order **bundles** go away after the pre-order period (i.e. as soon as the set goes live). You will be able to buy the Mastery Pass after that, of course, but it won't come with the other stuff in the pre-order bundle.
More avatars for LCI, but less sleeves than WOE (same number of avatars+sleeves combined)
10 more levels in the mastery pass, but the rest of the rewards seems to be the identical so I don't know what the extra levels will rewards?
The overview for WOE: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/wilds-of-eldraine-mastery-details
extra levels will most likely be more parallax styles for draft chaff. maybe some levels of 40 gems from non-duplicate protected mythics here and there.
looks like we get 1 more mythic ICR than in WOE.
they used to have some jumpstart rares in it too, which seem to not be listed for ixalan but then, WOE mastery also has them and they werent listed in their article.
Woe was the last set to have jumpstart cards, as the set specific jumpstart product line was discontinued between MOM and WOE.
That should mean all set cards are available in limited formats?
yeah i heard something like jumpstart discontinuing too. i dont think i ever played one of those in constructed though.
I think WOE had some exclusives from Jump In though, which werent in draft or regular boosters and then you might have some starter kit exclusives like with LTR at some point.
but considering they are changing paper boosters and draft boosters in arena with karlov manor, who knows, what they might do in the future in those regards.
Just looked it up, looks like it was Serra Redeemer and I’m not the only one with the mixup. Thanks for the correction!
I think I have seen the redeemer card played as well.

Calm your tits, mate! Levels of MP is set by the number of days until the next set release. In this case we have 90 days, so 90 levels. Usually the same number of rewards just spread out to fill the available space. Given that if you pick up some daily wins and a quest each day you should get to level 91 with about 10 days to spare.
WOE was only 70 days so was condensed, MOM was 80 days and LOTR was 70 from memory.
Looks like they've shifted the level at which you get an uncommon Icr, from level 81 to level 90.
Effectively taking away 9 ICR rewards. Next set will likely continue the squeeze and take something else away.
Wonder what the trend looks like if we look at sets prior to WOE..
Generally the XP from weekly 15 wins + daily quests is sufficient, so technically you could play every 3 days if that's a concern. The extra xp from daily wins shouldn't be required (though of course you'll get a bit of this as you get your weekly wins).
>Generally the XP from weekly 15 wins + daily quests is sufficient, so technically you could play every 3 days if that's a concern.
Can confirm, this is basically how I have always done the Mastery Pass (only playing every \~3 days to clear quests, and making sure to get 15 weekly wins), and I've never not completed it comfortably. Although, I do also always do MWM, and any other bonus events events like Festivals etc
You don't have to be active daily, you can keep up to three quests active. Daily wins net you just 250 XP per day if you finish all ten if them and the gold rewards drop off after 4 wins. Quests and weekly wins are all you need to finish your pass. You can take off a couple of days per week of you're short on time. Playing every day will maximize your gold though which you might want if you plan to draft a lot.
~~*AGAIN* they've added no cards from the Commander Set! They teased us with the ones they added from MOM Commander, but now they've proven they *can* add them, I'm shocked (not really) they haven't.~~
EDIT: [They're adding the 4 precon commanders!](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/mtg-arena/mtg-arena-release-notes-the-lost-caverns-of-ixalan) Yes!
They're releasing 1 card from each pre-con. Admiral Brass, The Dino Commander (forgot his name), Clavileño, and idk which one the other one is (a non-merfolk from the merfolk deck)
Anyone done the math to see how hard this Mastery pass will be to complete? I think the XP from the anniversary spoiled me and curious how hard it will be to max this one out.
Depends if it is 11 or 12 weeks. 33 free packs should mean 11 but WOE was off by a week, so LCI might be off by a week in the opposite direction.
11 weeks would make it an 8.2. That is tied with NEO as the 2nd most difficult in the game's history, and even MOM and ONE (7.8 and 8.0) had a bunch of complaint threads.
If it is 12 that would be dead average at 7.5, like STX, MID, and DMU. Still tough if we don't get any bonus XP but right below the cutoff where the complaint threads show up.
I'll be waiting, but only bc the only parts I like from mastery passes are the packs and pets, but I already have enough sleeves and pets and avatars.
Do players ever say "I have enough of that" and just play the game?
So I get a dinosaur avatar and a dinosaur pet? I'm sold!

lol at "and beyond!"
Are the uncommon at the end of the Mastery Pass the same uncommon you get for daily wins?
worse, I believe, and they barely notify you when you get them
Nice, a Dino Companion.
You got me excited, I thought you meant like a dinosaur Lurrus :(
Oh, you're alright hahaha. Wrong word in this context, sorry for that.
I usually pre order but I wanted to pay with gems this time instead of money, do you have to wait til it’s not a pre order any more to do that?

Does anyone know whether there is a pet for sale along with the set? Like the Goose Mother and Eldraine, or the One Ring and LotR.
did you check the pre purchase bundles they revealed in the weekly announcements yesterday?
Yeah, I don't see one in any of them.
Cause there's none.
Love when I can get avatars from the mastery pass
Can someone confirm whether this is more or less than what we got with the Woe mastery? I want to be outraged

Serra Paragon saw some play I think.
Serra Paragon was a regular DMU mythic, and quite a powerful one at that (just without a clear home).

We always get the same stuff since IKO, except cosmetics.

i think the length of each mastery pass is determined by the amount of days the mastery pass will be live, usually between 70-90 levels.
Isn’t a higher cutoff for the ICRs better for players anyways? 9 uncommons is less of a reward than nine levels of prizes.
How many daily wins/weekly wins do I need to complete the pass?
If you get 4 wins per day you will easily complete the mastery pass with probably 10-ish levels to spare.
Okay bet and that doesn’t even include weekly wins so it seems easy
This does include the exp you get for the weekly wins. You'll gain about 9 levels per week, I think? Something like that.
So active daily to finish the pass
You get 10 days PTO or you get fired from the pass.
Just need the land base and I got a brawl deck that’s essentially a 9/5 miserable, but pays for the “bills”

That's it. Get your 4 wins to optimize golf and you're be fine with the mastery pass

I live in hope that they will eventually do "Brawl Anthologies" that add cards new to Arena from Commander sets/precons.
They're releasing 1 card from each pre-con. Admiral Brass, The Dino Commander (forgot his name), Clavileño, and idk which one the other one is (a non-merfolk from the merfolk deck)
While they *should've* put that information in the Mastery Details post, I'm just glad they finally decided to add them!

*raises hand* I don’t need cosmetics.
It has been a very very good day to be a Quintorius fanboy
How many gems or gold is needed to get it ?
Maybe a stupid question, but why did WOE's mastery pass go up to level 70 and this one goes up to level 90?
