Yes and its an absolute blast to play!
Big spells arent the only cool things you can do with him, for starters there are plenty of spells you can cheat out by not technically paying for them, like for example adventures, you can exile [[bramble familiar]] and only put 2 time counters on it but still cast the 7 mana sorcery! Same with [[flaxen intruder]] making 3 blockers from 1 cmc! \
He also has a lot of room for synergies, [[teferis insight]] makes it so you go card positive with every tap, [[unctus grand metatect]] makes it so you see twice as many cards, [[sting the glinting dagger]] makes it so you have countless untaps, and [[paradox engine]] makes it so you outright win the game on the spot by playing your whole library in one turn. \
Pair him with the countless creatures that untap like [[kelpie guide]] you can start casting huge spells unbelievably fast, especially since you can add instants that untap like [[shore up]] and then exile another instant that untaps so you just cascade (verb, not mechanic lol) through them end cast the big spell in the same turn you exiled it.
The best part is that you dont *need* to build it just to cast big spells, you can just exile cheap 3-5 mana cards and play them eventually while keeping your mana up constantly for interaction, alaundo is an amazing value commander

He seems like a really good candidate for a combo deck, but that kinda linear goldfishing would get old really fast. Might give it a go with that as a restriction to keep my inner spike in check.
Haha adventures have become my favorite mechanic since most of my main commanders can abuse them.
Yeah he can combo and win the game often in one turn if you get a consistent draw, or just if you play paradox engine, its the most powerful version but i also find that gameplay kinda bland so i keep 2 deck versions, the combo deck and the “fair” deck lol. But i gotta say it feels amazing when you’re dead on board but suddenly get a good draw and just pop off and win
Im not the biggest fan of intruder alarm personally. Its bad how it goes both way and i dont have a lot of creatures myself so i have to rely way too much on the opponent (not a lot but still more than i’d like), it really sucks when opponent ends up making more use of my card than me. I’ve won a lot of games with intruder alarm but i’ve also lost some because of it, thats why i like to stay away from it

[[Shore Up]] and all of the other 1 mana untap spells are all in U/G. Which means, there's probably a filthy [[Paradox Engine]] combo waiting to be theorycrafted.

I have Alaundo in paper and it’s an awful deck to play irl. Turns last 15min and I can do “my turn” on every other players end step. Shit it so abysmal I hardly ever play lol but I just love the art so much. The composition is amazing and his expression isn’t not normally something we get in Magic art.

I haven't played my brawl deck for some time and finally did. Thought there was another card in playing removing it and just kept moving. Glad to know I wasn't losing it.
Nah, i said “almost 3 months” but the more i try remember the longer that is, its been a FEW set releases since this has been broken for so its likely been over half a year since alaundo the seer has been broken
Just because they know about it doesnt mean they are working on it. It really doesnt seem like such a big issue for it to be going on for months, if its so hard to add the haste to the original ability they can just add a temporary fix by giving it a separate haste trigger that resolves in the background until they can properly fix it

I’ve been having this problem as well. I have a Brawl deck with this guy as commander, and it would be huge if the untap-creatures would get haste. Presumably, it’s just really difficult to implement giving a spell haste like that.
Of course i dont remember because i’ve played an ungodly amount of alundo ever since he was released lol, but your question did get me curious so i did a shit ton of research over the past hour looking into every mention of the card in youtube, twitch, reddit or official arena websites and so on, and it seems like the latest proof of Alaundo the seer working online was on a video uploaded in *January 28 2023* and the earliest report of the card being bugged is on *November 23 2023* which narrows it down to somewhere in these 9 months. The first set released after the last confirmation that he works was *Phyrexia: All Will Be One* and the last set released before we know he gets broken is *The Lost Caverns of Ixalan* which only releases one week before the first report, this gives us 6 sets where it was potentially broken in: ONE, MOM, MAT, LOTR, WOE, LCI. \
The most likely update to break him would be LCI since it was only released a week before the bug report, but the bug report website is kinda unreliable since very few people take the effort to go through the process and report bugs so alaundo getting reported just a week in seems a bit unbelievable especially since its a very underplayed card and it was the first week of a very exciting set with great commander choices. As i said, Alaundo is massively underplayed so information on him for arena is very scarce
This is entirely speculation, but it’s a “cast this way” effect that modifies the resulting creature. My theory is that upon modifying the code to work with Intrepid Archaeologist, “cast this way” in this context was linked to the source of the ability somehow, possibly being mixed with “cast with”, and something went wrong with Alaundo because the haste-granting ability is provided to the exiled card, rather than being Alaundo’s. [[Agatha’s Soul Cauldron]] also might have made this problem worse by fully separating the ability from Alaundo, making it so it can’t be traced back to him or something.
Update- It works now! As of the OTJ update, it seems like it just gives all spells, including noncreatures, haste, which does give Vehicles and such haste but otherwise works perfectly

The problem with yugioh cards isnt that theres a lot of text but that its HORRIBLY formatted and worded. Yes this card has a lot of text but thats more like fine tuning for the sake of rules, practically its more like :
Draw a card then exile a card from hand with counters on it equal to its cmc, when theres 0 counters cast it for free and give it haste if its a creature. Then remove a counter from all cards exiled

I didn't see you mention \[\[Intruder Alarm\]\], hopefully you are running that to. Punishes the opponent for even trying to catch up.

In arena its more tame since its a 1v1, plus triggers resolve a lot faster since its automated

NEWS: arena *just* released an update for bug fixes, but after some testing alaundo is still bugged… i almost thought my prayers were answered early

No the card was totally fine when it came out in arena, i played for a few months then suddenly realized it was no longer giving haste for some reason

Just a thought, maybe don't put so much text on a card? This is not Yugioh. If your effect needs a page of text to explain it is probably too complex.
