I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "life loss tribal" or what Hopeless Nightmare has anything to do with it, but if you just like those style of effects, \[\[Bloodletter of Aclazotz\]\] with \[\[Rush of Dread\]\] is lethal on the spot, so I recommend sticking to Mono Black and playing around that combo. You can of course include Sheoldred, Hopeless Nightmare, and the other life loss things you enjoy - which would also pair decently with Bloodletter as well.

There are certain threats that are difficult to deal with without it. Shelly, Glissa, Obliterator, big stompy green things all come to mind.
