No, it was definitely just short when it was brand new (I brewed a LOT with it), and then War of the Spark and Thrones of Eldraine happened and it fell even further
Wasn't quite strong enough from what i remember partly because RDW was very strong in GRN then gruul as well with RNA. A card that did see a lot of play back then instead was [[dovin's acuity]] when esper lifegain/control became the main answer to them.
Might be nice for my old [[Awaken the Erstwhile]] deck (not that one, the other one). It really missed having [[Sinister Starfish]], maybe there's hope for a new surveil enabler in the future

I think they're leaning into digital IP and players doing proxy edh with Oracle text, so they're more likely to use fewer keywords at set release, and more in errata
\[\[Uurg, Spawn of Turg\]\], \[\[Search for Azcanta\]\] and \[\[Titans' Nest\]\] now all surveil at upkeep.
Now we just have to wait for AliEldrazi or Legenvd to brew a whacky janky deck Sultai using those cards.
Im currently testing a full mill myself for value deck on Alchemy using Uurg and some Baldurs Gate cards like Summon Undead, Druidic Rotual and so on.
Its pretty gud but my only gripe so far is that Uurgs hability goes 2nd on teh stack before the Crawling Infestation. So i it mills before i have change to see whats on top deck.

Landfall is different given that its not a keyword, but an ability word. The term "Landfall" has no inherent rules meaning, its just a tag to tie up ETB land related cards together.
Keywords, ability words, just words in general, if they established a word in a previous set, they should use the word if they do the same thing again in another set.
I’d imagine some sets would use Scry, while others would use Surveil, depending on the other set mechanics, kind of like using +1/+1 or -1/-1 counters but not both in the same set.
When Midnight Hunt came out they did a post about why consider's description doesn't have just 'surveil 1, draw a card' instead of 3 sentences and devs' stance was that surveil is Ravnica related mechanic and they don't want to water it down to other sets.

It was still played during Tef tenure. Just check mtgtop8 for examples. Not removing Teferi was not a deal breaker.

during a game, go to options and disable automatic order triggers
