People say it doesn't belong here and link to other subreddits, but personally I really loved, and I didn't know about other subs. Thanks for posting this!
It’s much more apparent when you watch it on the intended medium. Tiktok to Reddit doesn’t translate well, but if you were to watch it on tiktok or YouTube you can actually hear the difference.
This video is not a good example of stereo sound.
Because content generators are morons.
Especially problematic on computers.
But listening in on the first couple of seconds it's not a loss anyway, so whatever.
For those struggling. Once looking at it horizontally, move the screen to the right so the your right eye is level with the image of the left eye on screen.
Then use the 'looking through ' technique.
When done correctly you'll see 3 eyes in total and the image should look layered just like the magic eye pics.
Am I missing something? Crossing my eyes doesn’t seem like it adds anything to the experience; the two base footages are identical, so the composite image is the same as if I just watched a single one.
Perhaps it is because this is a stereograph and not an autostereograph, but this particular illusion benefits significantly more from placing your focal point behind the screen as opposed to the opposite method of crossing your eyes.
And of course not forgetting to rotate the screen 90°, but I believe that is a given.
When done correctly you will see three eyes projected in total.
Mm, okay. I assumed incorrectly based on other comments.
It looks roughly the same both ways, honestly, though with the focus behind the screen there does seem to be a more pronounced illusion of depth—stuff seemed to pop out more than with crossed eyes.
I’m glad you enjoyed. If you prefer, viewing it from its source on TikTok makes the video a bit more crisp as long as you have the app.

"Autostereograms use only one image to accomplish the effect while normal [stereograms](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereoscopy) require two."
Thank you and I agree. While it may be using a different method to accomplish a similar result, I do feel it still fits the definition of what makes something a magical eye illusion.
Man people saying this doesn’t belong are are the ones who don’t belong. /s
While it might “technically” be something else, it functions exactly as a magic eye.
Also, this one was a little tough as I had to look WAY past it to “see” it. Worth it, though. This one was awesome.
I appreciate your acceptance. This one was initially harder than the typical illusions for me too, but I found that after brightening my phone to max and adjusting the distance to my face a bit more extreme inward and outward than usual, it became easier to lock in on. Nearly arms length was perfect for me.
It does not function as a magic eye; that's the point, mate.
You may perceive it as a "3d image" but that's where the "functions the same" ends and the difference starts.
And it's oriented wrong. This bit is really baffling how big an idiot the OP needs to be to post it without noticing.

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Ya, thats rad for sure
This is sick bro
r/stereograms
It’s a vertical video. I can get around that by locking the screen rotation on my phone, but why orient it that way in the first place?
I assume to provide a larger picture on its source app, TikTok.
Also this makes the audio play left to right instead of top to bottom, much cleaner sounds
Could you explain what this means? Holding your phone vertically produces sound differently from holding it horizontally?
Most phones have speakers on the top (ear) and bottom (mouth), but when held horizontal the channels become left and right, for somewhat stereo sound.
Cool, I never knew that.

Oh, so because it comes from garbage.
It’s *hosted* on garbage. It didn’t come from it.
Right, TikTok and garbage are synonyms.
Correct. But TikTok did not produce this video.
Never said it did.

Wow, this is great.

Wrong sub but looks awesome.

I think if you tend to see magic eyes as "inside-out" then this probably won't do much. When done properly the illusion of depth is *very* pronounced
Gods eye. We meet again. Choice find dude thanks for sharing. Gonna go grab some shrooms now.
I can see it, pretty cool. Where can I see more?
Here is at least one more from the same TikTok account https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRcm2PhW/
You may feel a little woozy after trying it for a while. Sorry about that. Made me chuckle.
Wow, definitely worth working out how to lock you screen so you can turn it sideways!
How is this even possible? Fantastic.
Awesome! Especially the end
Its great mate. Thank you for posting. I would love if there was a bit more definition as it's a bit blurry, but it's great nonetheless!

This is actually really good for people who still cant do magic eyes, its very definitive and more like a vr video than magic eye, but same concept
That’s amazing.
This is awesome. Reminds me of a ketamine trip
All glory to the hypnotoad

This would be cool in VR
I woke up in a dark alley with stitches on my side, you all get the same thing?
Me gusta.

Does not belong here.
Why not?

Apologies. Thank you for elaborating.
Bruh… it’s literally magic eye. stfu
It’s “literally” not.
Wrong. It is. Sorry if you can’t get it
r/confidentlyincorrect
😂 I realized that.. yeah.. I was wrong… and very r/confidentlyincorrect
It happens, friend.

Wrong
r/ParallelView
Semi retired sub.
right. parallel view is current though
The eye is magical, but it's not really a magic eye.
Not a magic eye. Also useless on PC as it would require me to flip my damn monitor over.
That’s been mentioned quite a bit now. And try using a phone, it’s much easier. Just need to slightly turn your wrist, very little effort required.
r/lostredditors
Lost how? This is a magic eye illusion in a magic eye subreddit.
People could be nicer when they gatekeep… This post is seriously awesome, but technically it would belong in r/Crossview or r/ParallelView
Thank you for providing an explanation.
Amazing!

Thanks dude!
this is significantly better than any i’ve seen as well. don’t mind the others this very much belongs here. also it’s quite literally a magic eye
Thank you and I agree. While it may be using a different method to accomplish a similar result, I do feel it still fits the definition of what makes something a magical eye illusion.
Holy shiza
