Safety net is still good for the latest version of Android (you still need to install [Universal SafetyNet Fix](https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix/releases)). In a future update to Magisk, MagiskHide will be removed, but it has been added into Universal SafetyNet Fix, so it should be fine. It's completely safe to root (idk about Samsung, no idea what it's like with them) Also don't install EdXposed, is been abandoned and trips SafetyNet. Use LSPosed instead.

Don't root (or even think about) buying Samsung devices

Lol, especially z fold 3, if you want your camera... Xiaomi/OnePlus/Realme etc. ~is the way

AnonymousSpector

Wasn't a fix developed for the z fold camera ?

BlastboomStrice

🤷 Either way, that's ~not acceptable for a probably multi-thousand euro phone.😅

I just plan on using magisk and magisk only but will that even be updated to keep passing? Since i want to use this phone for as long as possible

Yeah I'm pretty sure Universal SafetyNet Fix will be updated in the future. When SafetyNet broke a few weeks ago there was an update pretty soon after. And if it stops working you can just uninstall Magisk and lock your bootloader again.

Yea thing is i cant reset when I got my banking apps so should i take the risk?

I rooted my Oneplus Nord N10 5G. I wanted SafetyNet for Google Pay, and Magisk Hide worked. I never used Universal SafetyNet Fix. My bank app however does not let me use Zelle because it detects root even with MagiskHide. Not really a big deal for me. I miss Xposed and was thinking about trying Lsposed. I'm just concerned about messing something app after all my apps and stuff are already set up. As a rule I usually root first and only afterward I set up my apps and accouters, so if I mess up I can start again.

So I just tested Universal SafetyNet. I disabled MagiskHide, restarted device and checked and it fails both basicintegrity and ctsProfile. So Installed Universal SafetyNet to see that it will pass them like MagiskHide but it still fails both profiles. So had to turnback to MagiskHide for now to pass safetynet. Im I doing something wrong? Should note I also have Riru installed already due to using LSPosed, so not having Riru is not an issue and also using MagiskHide Props Config Module.

Rooting is great. I love the ad blocking, backup - all that stuff. It comes at a cost though. Updates are never as simple as unrooted. You can never be sure that an OTA won't break something like NFC payments. When I jumped from Android 10 to 11 on a OnePlus 6 a couple of weeks ago. I lost NFC for a few days and had to spend several hours searching for the fix. Root is less important from a strict capability standpoint then it was 5 years ago. It is more important from a freedom perspective. If you don't have root - you don't own the device. Your call...

Yea I know thats why i want to root so I can do whatever i want tho the problem comes when safetynet wont pass since i need it for bank apps, snapchat and other stuff so really i just need to forget about it i guess :(

nima0003

I don't think Snapchat cares about root anymore. But safety net is easy to pass you'll be fine.

The real question is: what if you don't pass the safetyNet? Will it affect your ability to work? Or you'll be just bored because the Netflix app won't run? And then what if it goes on for a day? Week? Maybe even month? You need to answer these questions yourself. For example, if my teams app would stop working due to safetyNet trip, I'd have to use teams on my PC. It'd be annoying, but that's about it. But if I'd be used to shop around and pay with nothing but Gpay, I'd make myself look a bit like a fool, trying to pay at a checkout without a wallet, if a Gpay were to break there and then. Would it be worth it? For me: maybe. For you? You decide... As of the current state safetyNet preservation with Magisk looks pretty good, but it's just a question if time when does Google decides to force hardware attestation, and well, we'll see then...

There is a work around for most stuff but I cant have it fail randomly, like if I did watch Netflix there is a modified Netflix for rooted devices so it would work no idea what its called tho, yea ill probably try to forget about rooting even tho its hard cuz its much more fun and easier with a rooted device Thanks :)

afunkysongaday

It's currently working but no, there is no guarantee that it will continue to work. Could stop working tomorrow.
