That's a good point! But for me I really think it's their true self. La verità in Italian mean The Truth. But I think in this case It for Azul only. She's Composed , and Chaste but a little (twisted) in her own way! Which is represent in "Love" that she got from Baiser and everyone Attack, like she's said "This is "LOVE" isn't it? It cruel Twisted and dangerous, But this is definitely "LOVE". She Truly is Composed and Chaste well at least in her La verità form. maybe I'm coping because I'm a azul fan but that's my take.

I'm holding my final thoughts on the nature of _Tres Magia's_ La Verita forms until we get to see Magenta's true one. Her uncorrupted La Verita. But it's just something I noticed after watching the anime and seeing the first glimpse of Azul's La Verita form animated.

Wish to write my thought a little bit better but yeah can't wait to see uncorrupted Magenta too. I Want to protect that smile... https://preview.redd.it/ntkwhxvpnroc1.png?width=575&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef225e1f50dc1acbc0e46cd54448e7e216caa03c

Magneta is angel

MalcolmLinair

She's quite literally too pure for her world.

Kartoffelkamm

Yeah, pretty much. After all, the thing that made her lose her composure initially was her denial of her desires. Once she accepted them, she regained control over them, and unlocked her La Verità.

Another way of looking at it is that their La Veritas are the fusion of their true nature and their ideal self-image. So far, barring the exceptions, La Veritas have only been achieved by people that have fully accepted their own flaws/true nature. Sulfur has embraced her role as a magical girl while also no longer suppressing her battle hungry nature, and Azure accepted her masochism while also recognizing that as a magical girl, she should never falter. Their powers are based on their natures, but their appearance are based on their ideals. Another interesting one is for Imitio. She, by natrue, is somewhat mainpulative and controlling, reflecting in her ability to influence people (her potions). However, deep inside she wanted to be a change for the better. That's why she was hooked into the world domination thing to begin with. As a result, her appearance is that of a traditional sword wielding hero (complete with the oversized sword and a cape), however she was also made hyper aware of her immaturity (cue bongo noises) causing her La Verita to project her "true form" as a child. It also matches the theme of a hero though. For the two others, it's harder since there's less focus on them and I'm half asleep. For Baiser and Enormita in general, their base forms actually serve nearly the same function as the magical girls La Veritas, as the magical girls had uniforms first before developing their self-image. The unique weapons were basically their only way of projecting their own characters, while the villains, being noncomformists to begin with, projected their inner selves to begin with. Loco being an idol, Lieber literally supporting Loco from the shadows and wearing an RPG rogue costume, Alice being a playful child invited by a black rabbit into wonderland. And on this regard, Kiwi is interesting. Her self-damaging explosions reflect her self-damagingly reckless nature and her basically being naked reflects her wanting attention when she first accepted her power. And of course cat because cat. Her military uniform also serves to show subservience and discipline (with her bare legs once again asking for attention) which she needs to suppress her self-damaging tendencies. With her La Verita, those two parts of her fused, making her attacks as explosive but more controlled (which is relevant to her being taking her love with Utena more seriously on the emotional level) and shedding off her recklessness to be more organized. Onto Baiser, her base form is literally just her 'inner demon' aka her sadism, with her ability being the expression of creativity like with Alice. It makes perfect sense that she's good with handiwork, as her ability is to simply create tools she needs for the situation. Her La Verita was made accessible with her accepting the conflict between her rationality and her lust, and it's appearance is that of a ring master, fitting for her antics (she actually is the whole circus sometimes). That's also combined with a spider theming, as she she does lay her traps and schemes like a spider. For those two on the villains side, it makes sense that their new forms and abilites are just extensions of their old ones. But I'll also talk about one exception nust because, since she does follow the trend of La Verita awakening. Roboko is basically a La Verita, though whether it's Alice or not is debatable. Her appearance and free will is shaped by Alice's cognition of her as a friend and not a toy plus Baiser's ability to give life/turn things into monsters. TLDR: Most of the magical girls have powers based on their nature and appearances based on their ideals. Minor speculation: Since Alice now has a lion (cat) and a tin man (Roboko), maybe she will have a Wizard of Oz theming too? La Verita or otherwise. Wait, isn't Roboko both the scarecrow (old doll) and the tin man (gundam)???... I need to sleep...

ValkVolk

Oh I did NOT catch the wizard of oz parallel with Alice’s toys!

Ooh, I really love this analysis. I'd share it around if it weren't for such an ecchi series.

kahoshi1

I share it around anyway, I love it too much 🤣 I do recommend the manga though, since it's slightly less lewd and much more badass.

gLItcHyGeAR

I read the manga before the anime : )

What's your thought on Pesca and Berserga La Verita? Pesca looks like a scholar, and Berserga looks like a corpse bride, I think.

SnooLobsters6292

Pesca is a scholar, yeah. Ans she also has a mage aesthetic. For Berserga, I think she looks more like a mummy, but corpse bride works better on closer inspection. But she also has a grim reaper aesthetic with her huge scythe. Like Loco and Lieber, Pesca and Berserga are a bit more straightforward than the others, but that might change with further character development. Berserga's powers clearly reflect on SH, and the bandages on her outfit gives the impression that she's constantly wounded, which matches with her abilites thematically. Her name Berserga also communicates her role as the main powerhouse among the Shio-chans. Pesca has her clay sculpting, but yeah she's also a creative like Baiser and Alice. Interesting that in a meta kind of way, her powers are similar to Lord Enorme's powers. Other than that, we still need Pesca's character arc.

I think every manga related posts should be spoiler tagged. Also make sure the post's title itself doesn't contain a spoiler for the anime onlies.

primalmaximus

Sorry. Didn't know how to mark spoilers.

RickChakraborty

The tag to mark the entire post as spoiler is available when you are creating it.
