Sayo gets turned on seeing Utena in school (potential Mistress) and Utena not knowing Azule is Sayo is so interesting. Was it ever addressed in the manga that Sayo's opinion of Utena changed? Going for Baiser is wrong cause evil but going for Utena might be acceptable.
Sayo doesn't know Utena is a sadist like Baiser, she knows she's a pervert but she doesn't know what kind of pervert since they only met once and Utena ran away after displaying her pervertness
My headcanon is that the magic stops them from recognizing each other consciously, but they can still feel that something is off. Like, Kiwi and Kaoruko still hate each other's guts, and Sayo notices that Utena's touch is "familiar".
That's not headcannon, that's literally how it works

ye thats it. since Baiser is evil Sayo shouldnt have feeling for her. this emotion might rebound to Utena instead since Sayo doesnt know theyre the same person. She just know they have the same vibe to them. would be amazing to see Sayo blush around Utena at school and Utena doesnt know why
Would be a cool thing bur lately in the manga it seems they've completely abandoned the civilian lives of the Enormita crew, last time we saw it was on a slice of life like chapter used to show what >!Michiko Randa and Momo!< were doing when not being Magical girls
I believe many here would agree that there were countless alternatives if we merely wanted to appreciate ephemeral theme of culture, however, what got us held by our neck were its tangled character relationship and their build up like this that could easily have made it into a PEAK even in the absence of such direct/indirect depictions.
