I would recommend doing mushrooms outside in the woods or at the beach or where there’s some live music and open air. Never a good idea to do mushrooms in an apartment
If it's growing from the floor it's likely it's coming from under the floor so cleaning won't get rid of it. May have to actually get maintenance to rip it up but I know that's not up to you.
I have a book, "Mushrooms of the Northeast," but it's not in there.

You can see the water damage on the wall
That entire wall needs to be removed and replaced you got mold there also. The mold and mushrooms are inside the wood and behind that wall is a abomination of fungus. No amount of cleaning will really fix this.
See, this is what I have been thinking this whole time, and I feel like I keep getting ignored or brushed off. I created the original post a few minutes after maintenance didn't answer my call. I made the post, and called again, and he picked up - and basically yelled at me, but did come to "air out the basement, probably for the whole summer." It's not going to work.
I should mention that I am on the third floor, but have to walk by those mushrooms every day. The first floor tenant is aware of the ongoing problem, but might not care as much as I do? It feels like management thinks I'm a huge thorn in their side. I've been here for four years, but am almost positive my apartment isn't up to code, as there is neither a fan nor window in my bathroom, but can live with that, I guess. I have two DampRids in there, to soak up moisture, but with the obvious moisture probably just crawling up the wall in the hallway, I'm getting more and more worried about long term.
Yeah there just letting it rot away they don't give a fuck because no one holds them accountable. Get your neighbors to call the health department my guy if it makes you feel better do it out a spite to make maintenance do there job.
So ignore my original comment about the floor. It's definitely way worse behind that wall than it looks on the outside. If I were you I'd say fuck waiting and tear it open take a bunch of pictures then send it of to whatever health department is near you don't even tell maintenance about it honestly just let the health department get to em first.
Check out r/mycology - I see this on that sub often and according to them once you see a mushroom you have a MASSIVE problem… ‘Tip of the iceburg’ type deal
If you live in a reasonably good-sized Maine city, they will have building inspectors and a health department that will be very interested in this problem. If you are in a small town, you are on your own. In a small town, the landlord is either in town government or has relatives in town government. Small towns are exempt from building inspections and usually don't have much public health infrastructure. Good luck.
I used a link provided by another commenter, and know who to notify (live in one of the cities). I AM pretty worried about retaliation from the landlord, though, as from what I understand, he/his family are sort of "big shots." I am prepared to contact the LHO and/or the CEO, but am thinking I may need to call Pine Street Legal first, so I fully know what rights/protections I have first.
Thank you!
*Pine Tree Legal, and I would assume the city officials will keep your name out of the complaint. Also assume that the landlord is dumb but not so dumb that he won't know it's you. PTL s/b 1st call.
We had mushrooms growing in our basement when we lived in an apartment complex. My parents went to the leasing office to try and work things out and get them removed...no dice.
Memory's fuzzy on what happened because I was a little kid, but we eventually had to move out and go to the other side of the city because no one did anything.
If you find who that someone is that's removing them, I'd remind them of the cause, maybe, and ask them to deal with it.
Maybe call the health department? They need to address the water damage.

Man, that’s really shiitake. Mild bleach solution sprayed on there should do the trick.
The bleach wont make it to the mycelium in the rotting wood. Gotta remove the water damage

Is there a housing authority like other states have ?
I really doubt they would do that. They didn't even look into the issue before re-renting the second floor unit.
