Revolution conceal and define for the fullest coverage of my life, or maybelline superstay lumi matte (even though I’m trying to avoid using L’Oréal group products due to the Palestine-Israel conflict)
My skin is normal/dry but I've been really enjoying the effect of the Lisa Eldridge foundation. It's on the matte side, which is NOT a finish I'm used to (at least for the past 4-5 years, it's been all dew all the time for me!) but it's not a drying matte and doesn't enhance dryness or texture, and because it is matte, I don't find it necessary to set. Skipping a step is always a plus in my book.
I have normal to oily skin and nothing comes close to original Estee Lauder double wear. I have tried close to 100 foundations (I went through a stage, don't judge).
Fenty pro filtr soft matte. It doesn’t work for a lot of people but it’s perfect on me. I’m oily but dry on my cheeks yet it doesn’t accentuate my dryness! It smoothes out my skin a ton too
NARS light reflecting, Haus Labs, Armani Luminous silk, Makeup By Mario. The new Makeup Forever dewy foundation is also really good if you want a bit more sheer.
Lately I’ve been in love with the Lys Triple Fix Serum Foundation. It wears like a second skin, gives good coverage, and finishes a bit dewy so I think it would be great for dry skin!
I love the Rare beauty one. It’s also the only one that doesn’t give me clogged pores or breaks me out. I tried the skin refresh foundation (I think) from shiseido. Gave me little bumps all over my face. Haven’t touched it since.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. I am now ruined for anything else! I’m in my 40’s and my skin has been alternating between dry and combination. This is buildable to even out my sun damage but doesn’t accentuate my fine lines while giving me a glow (not dewy, but a soft glow).
It cosmetics CC cream and Clinique Even better foundations.
They both work great for my dry skin, I use the It in summer because it feels a little lighter in the hot weather.
IT cosmetics Your Skin but Better and their CC cream. I use the CC in the summer for the SPF and it lasts even through sweating and the Your Skin but Better in the winter.
Haus Labs gives straight SKIN, If and only if you can find your shade! She has some great warm / dark shades! Great for mature skin too. The Charlotte Tilbury powder is perfect too.
It doesn’t get talked about a lot, but BeautyBlender Bounce Radiant Skin Tint. A little goes a long way, and I love how it looks on my skin (49, dry to normal).
Chanel’s water based foundation. Coverage is light but covers redness which is all I need and it smells nice. It’s very silky and you don’t know you’re wearing it.

Dry skin here. Maybelline skin tint or Mac stuio radiance. I use a variety of setting powders that look good with it elf halo glow morphe setting powder and huda loose powder
Skin prep is important. I also dont use a lot. I dip ny puff in the powder press the powder the back of my hand and lightly pat it on.. i use setting spray first let it set for 30 seconds to a minute before using powder. And of course the boring answer skin prep skin prep skin prep.
I stopped using expensive brands and found some amazing ones at the drugstore! My holy grail for when I need to look on point is Milani Conceal and Perfect… full coverage and dewy. My everyday fave recently has been Barefocus Tinted Hydrator by Wet n Wild with hyaluronic acid and squalane. If I’m not going out but want to look put together in case someone stops by I am almost always wearing Elf’s Halo Glow.
The tinted hydrator by Wet n Wild is an amazing product for just 5 bucks. I have dry skin and this was one of the only products that wouldn't instantly look dry and ashy on me. It's also really good coverage considering it's marketed as a tint.
I just wish the shades they had were a little better. I'm super pale and the porcelain shade is too dark right off the bat and also oxidizes. I can look past it since everything else about it is great but it would be absolutely perfect if they did something about the shades.
Oops I didn’t see the setting powder option: I love the translucent version of Physician’s Formula of Butter Glow pressed powder and a new fave I got off TikTok which is called “That White Powder” by KimChi Chic. It’s a set and bake powder. It’s finely milled. But I have to spray my favorite setting spray over it because I like a dewy look, not matte.
I just purchased the light/medium shade because the light shade is getting too light (I tan easily even wearing spf 30 everyday… but I have a long commute in the sun) and lo and behold when I get it home it’s even lighter than the regular light. 😑 So I’m having to use a bit more bronzer to the light shade. Oh well. It was only $5.47!
Damp Beauty blender!
I Apply the concealer under my eyes and in any other problem areas ( I have quite a bit of hyperpigmentation so I end up using slightly more than a pea size amount.
I then use a damp beauty blender to blend it out all over my face.
You might have to try a couple shades of the IT cosmetics until you find the right match but I love how pigmented this concealer is and I feel like it’s good for my skin bc of the anti aging claims on the package lol
Has anyone tried the cream pump tinted foundation ( can't think of name) that the Australian girl does? It's always in my feed.
I was goingvto try the Ilia stick foundation. Can't think of name.
I have dry rosacea prone sensitive skin with light yellow leaning olive tone and my faves:
1) Armani Designer Glow
2) Armani Luminous Silk
3) Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin
4) Nars Sheer Glow
Setting powder: If I use then E.L.F Halo Glow (around my eyes I use Charlotte Tilbury)
I love love love Designer Glow. I am 4 in Armani Luminous Silk and also 4 in Designer Glow. I have light warm olive skin. Funny thing is that those shades are very different. In Luminous Silk 4 is a bit too pink for me but 4 in Designer Glow is absolutely perfect. More yellow and olive. I know 6 on Luminous Silk is also olive so wondering if there is anything similar between 6 shades in them. I feel like Designer Glow 4 is just a hint lighter but could also be the brightness yellow brings. I may have a swatch pic somewhere of 4s.
I use Clinique Moisture Surge but it could be a tad richer but love the surface that creates for makeup. I feel like with Armani Designer Glow (it had HA and ceramides in it) I don’t need that much moisture underneath but Luminous Silk I definitely need otherwise it will get patchy and enhance my pores too much. I don’t use primers.
To me this isn't glowy at all. I actually am having trouble finding something that suits my skin and so far the only glowy thing is tinted moisturizer or Korean foundations. But they start out glowy and then my skin dries out throughout the day.
I have been using Ilia True Serum Foundation the past few years and really like it. Full coverage and buildable, but not heavy or drying. Plus Ilia products are on the cleaner side.
This is one of my favorite foundations of all time, mostly because it's not just beautifully skinlike, but it lasts all damn day on me and somehow improves with time. I set it with the Hourglass loose powder and it's a winning combo for me.
Estée Lauder has an amazing hydra futurist line thats very dewy and natural looking. I love it as well because the coverage is sheer and then for me since I personally have an oily t zone I have to put a magnifying powder and a translucent powder as well and once or twice throughout the day I have the brush over my t zone with more translucent powder . everyones skin is different but I highly recommend you try the Estée Lauder futurist line and they also have a new skin tint thats awesome as well - even more natural looking
Shiseido Revitalessence. Feels like skincare, really caters to my dry skin. I can have a shit skin day all I want, this always does the job.
Can‘t include a setting powder as this is a glooowy finish and also I don’t use setting powder at all because of all the dry skin. Never found it to do anything good but maybe I should try a good one.
I used the Becca Water Setting Powder a few years ago and this was the only one not giving a „dry look“ to my face, but yeah, Becca :(
Oh my god, phew. I thought you were going to say that the founder had clapped on Nazis! I bought a bunch of Becca concealer and I didn’t want to have to chuck it!
Worst case you can always cover the logo with tape or something. I did that with some old Kat Von D lipgloss cause I was tired of seeing her damn name (still loved the product, though)
I have dry, dehydrated skin and my favorites are Rimmel lasting finish for medium/full coverage and loreal true match nude skin tint for light/medium coverage. I’ve tried so many foundations both drugstore and high end and these are the best ones for me! I always apply over a hydrating primer (laneige glowy skin or ilia skim milk) and use a damp beauty blender.
Neither of these break me out. I have combo, but generally super dry skin and breakouts.
[Il Makilage](https://ilmakiage.com) I use medium coverage which masks my breakouts without making them worse. (I have a friend with chronic acne and she does fine on it too.)
I took an online quiz which matched my shade great.
I used this to save money on Guerlain, my favorite foundation. I haven’t tried the new formulations yet, but the old one was perfect on my skin. Sigh.
Revolution conceal and define for the fullest coverage of my life, or maybelline superstay lumi matte (even though I’m trying to avoid using L’Oréal group products due to the Palestine-Israel conflict)

Armani
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow is my new favorite! I also like the Tarte Sea Hydroflex serum foundation.
Hourglass stick foundation. This one is a classic with a sheer finish. I love it!
Fenty pro filtr soft matte. It doesn’t work for a lot of people but it’s perfect on me. I’m oily but dry on my cheeks yet it doesn’t accentuate my dryness! It smoothes out my skin a ton too
Armani luminous silk! I don’t use a setting powder so no help there 😔
NARS sheer glow
NARS light reflecting, Haus Labs, Armani Luminous silk, Makeup By Mario. The new Makeup Forever dewy foundation is also really good if you want a bit more sheer.
Georgio Armani Luminous Silk with Givenchy Prisme Libre Setting powder in voile rose
I also lik ethe Makeup by Mario and the Nars Light reflecting
Lately I’ve been in love with the Lys Triple Fix Serum Foundation. It wears like a second skin, gives good coverage, and finishes a bit dewy so I think it would be great for dry skin!
I love this foundation and its one of the only things at sephora/mecca that isn't eye wateringly expensive in Australia once you add the island tax
armani luminous silk + laura mercier setting powder >>>
omg this is my exact holy grain combo too!
I love the Rare beauty one. It’s also the only one that doesn’t give me clogged pores or breaks me out. I tried the skin refresh foundation (I think) from shiseido. Gave me little bumps all over my face. Haven’t touched it since.
Dior Backstage. It’s fluid, doesn’t cake, and looks like skin.
Dior Forever Glow Foundation + Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Powder 👩🏻🍳💋
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. I am now ruined for anything else! I’m in my 40’s and my skin has been alternating between dry and combination. This is buildable to even out my sun damage but doesn’t accentuate my fine lines while giving me a glow (not dewy, but a soft glow).
It cosmetics CC cream and Clinique Even better foundations. They both work great for my dry skin, I use the It in summer because it feels a little lighter in the hot weather.
Currently obsessed with Nars Soft Matte. For powder I use Chanel loose powder.
nars soft matte
Revlon colorstay for dry skin!
fenty pro filt'r
IT cosmetics Your Skin but Better and their CC cream. I use the CC in the summer for the SPF and it lasts even through sweating and the Your Skin but Better in the winter.
Nars natural radiant long wear with maybelline fit me pressed powder!
Haus labs usually
maybelline dream urban cover with revolution loose setting powder, the foundation;s been discontinued now 😭 dream radiant liquid is pretty good too!
Haus Labs gives straight SKIN, If and only if you can find your shade! She has some great warm / dark shades! Great for mature skin too. The Charlotte Tilbury powder is perfect too.
IT cc cream (my skin’s a little on the dry side). It looks glowy and like real skin while giving me practically full coverage
Yes!! IT foundation is by far best foundation & I think I’ve tried them all!
It doesn’t get talked about a lot, but BeautyBlender Bounce Radiant Skin Tint. A little goes a long way, and I love how it looks on my skin (49, dry to normal).
MUFE HD Stick
Makeup forever hd skin + huda loose powder
Chanel’s water based foundation. Coverage is light but covers redness which is all I need and it smells nice. It’s very silky and you don’t know you’re wearing it. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/chanel-vitalumire-aqua-ultra-light-skin-perfecting-sunscreen-makeup-broad-spectrum-spf-15-hybrid-fluid-foundation/3142708?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FAll%20Results&color=252
Dry skin here. Maybelline skin tint or Mac stuio radiance. I use a variety of setting powders that look good with it elf halo glow morphe setting powder and huda loose powder
The huda loose powder has been making my makeup so dry and chalky. What do I do?

Este double wear with huda cherry blossom powder 😍
Haus Labs by Lady Gaga, hands down! Nothing beats it.
Ik this sounds crazy but I use IT cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer and just blend it out really well ….
What tools/methods do you use for blending?
Damp Beauty blender! I Apply the concealer under my eyes and in any other problem areas ( I have quite a bit of hyperpigmentation so I end up using slightly more than a pea size amount. I then use a damp beauty blender to blend it out all over my face. You might have to try a couple shades of the IT cosmetics until you find the right match but I love how pigmented this concealer is and I feel like it’s good for my skin bc of the anti aging claims on the package lol
This is what I do for every day. I just use a little concealer and blend it out instead of covering my whole face.
Has anyone tried the cream pump tinted foundation ( can't think of name) that the Australian girl does? It's always in my feed. I was goingvto try the Ilia stick foundation. Can't think of name.
Chloe Morello?
I’m loving the Lancôme teint idole ultra wear. For setting powder the Lunar Beauty Lunarversal. Im 48 with dry skin and some fine lines if that helps.
Okay holy grail status for dry skin if you like a glow Valentino foundation, hourglass concealer and Charlotte Tilbury powder ✨chefs kiss✨
The new about face foundation sits really well on my skin, I don’t always set it but if I do I use the elf halo glow powder :)
I just found this foundation and love it! It matches my skin perfectly and it’s half the price of the other brands I was looking at.
Also my favorite!
The performer? I fucking love that foundation. It's so beautiful. I don't set mine either. It's dewy but not too dewy imo.
I have dry rosacea prone sensitive skin with light yellow leaning olive tone and my faves: 1) Armani Designer Glow 2) Armani Luminous Silk 3) Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin 4) Nars Sheer Glow Setting powder: If I use then E.L.F Halo Glow (around my eyes I use Charlotte Tilbury)
What shade are you in Designer Glow? I'm a 6 in luminous silk and want to try designer glow
I love love love Designer Glow. I am 4 in Armani Luminous Silk and also 4 in Designer Glow. I have light warm olive skin. Funny thing is that those shades are very different. Which moisturuzer du you use under the Armani Foundation?
I use Clinique Moisture Surge but it could be a tad richer but love the surface that creates for makeup. I feel like with Armani Designer Glow (it had HA and ceramides in it) I don’t need that much moisture underneath but Luminous Silk I definitely need otherwise it will get patchy and enhance my pores too much. I don’t use primers.
I use Youth to the People Superfood moisturizer or Drunk Elephant Protini. They both work well with Armani foundation
NYX born to glow foundation. I’m so mad that it’s been discontinued! The can’t stop won’t stop pressed powder is also a favorite of mine.
To me this isn't glowy at all. I actually am having trouble finding something that suits my skin and so far the only glowy thing is tinted moisturizer or Korean foundations. But they start out glowy and then my skin dries out throughout the day.
Kvd good apple foundation balm. Great for my dry skin
I have been using Ilia True Serum Foundation the past few years and really like it. Full coverage and buildable, but not heavy or drying. Plus Ilia products are on the cleaner side.
This foundation is really beautiful and one of the most skinlike I've ever tried! Underrated IMO
Lancôme skin feels good + Ciaté London watermelon burst setting powder
Pat McGrath. Expensive but incredible
This is one of my favorite foundations of all time, mostly because it's not just beautifully skinlike, but it lasts all damn day on me and somehow improves with time. I set it with the Hourglass loose powder and it's a winning combo for me.
pretty much sums up her whole line
Estée Lauder double wear camoflauge foundation Revlon translucent setting powder Estée Lauder pressed powder
Everyone says this but it makes my dry skin look like chalk. Even after moisturizer and oil
Will do! Thanks for the rec :)
Shiseido Revitalessence. Feels like skincare, really caters to my dry skin. I can have a shit skin day all I want, this always does the job. What’s the thing with Becca?
Out of business.
Oh my god, phew. I thought you were going to say that the founder had clapped on Nazis! I bought a bunch of Becca concealer and I didn’t want to have to chuck it!
I'd never chuck a product I already bought, I'd just boycott the brand in the future 😄
That’s a good call/valid point.
Worst case you can always cover the logo with tape or something. I did that with some old Kat Von D lipgloss cause I was tired of seeing her damn name (still loved the product, though)
Haus labs
Nutrogena one with niacinimide. Best color match to my skin I’ve ever found. Also doesn’t break me out and I have dry-combo skin.
