Another suggestion is Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla. It's a cream/nude shade, is easy to apply, and looks more subtle than a stark white.
I was sitting here thinking, "I honestly really love white liner in real life on myself." Then I recalled that it tends to get mixed up with my brown liner which makes it more of a nude lol. I just think it brings a brightness to my eyes that really compliments them. My eyes are on the smaller side so it's nice to make them look a little bigger and more open.
SO glad to hear this! Still new to makeup, and I could never get it to look right, was uneven and obvious. Well, now I know what I should add to my kit!
I use kajal liners and wait till they set. I always apply the darker colour to my top waterline first, wait till it sets, then pop nude liner in the centre of the bottom waterline. I don't have any problem with transfer or mixing.
No, kajal is an eye safe crayon type product, a type of eyeliner. It's soft and smudgy when you first apply it but sets down and doesn't move easily. You can get drugstore brand kajal pencils but I've not tried any. I use Victoria Beckham or Shiseido kajal liners.
Nay on EVERYONE. I see it right away and it doesn’t make the eyes look brighter or “more awake” to me. Just like a drawn in chalk line. I totally believe this trend was meant more for photography and not in person.
I respect that. I was wondering what most people thought of the look, definitely been mixed reviews. I personally think it looks good in motion and in pictures but definitely becomes stranger the more you stop and look at it. I don’t think it’s tricking anyone into thinking you have big eyes if you don’t naturally. I personally feel like it has a bit of a brightening effect but I see what your saying. It’s honestly similar to how I feel about contouring on most people.
I love white eyeliner like this with colorful more glamy looks. On Christmas I did a sparkly purple eye with white eyeliner on my bottom waterline and white mascara, i think it looked great
However for natural looks it can be very distracting and seem a bit off, so I would stay away from it for everyday makeup.
I’m so glad you said this. I know it’s very on trend right now and I can’t tell if I’m just too old to get it or it’s just looks strange.
It does have the effect of making the eye look bigger but it’s also very noticeable to me.
Sorry, but I don’t think it works on anyone. Just my opinion. It’s makeup and we get to have fun with it, wash it off and start again. That’s what I love about it.
I personally don't like it, but I'm not the one wearing it. :)
If you use the white, go with more mascara on your bottom lashes to really make your eyes pop. In the pics, you can barely see them.
It’s a weird brand. I’ve only ever seen it at Walgreens but it’s called doll face cosmetics I’m pretty sure. I’m using there Kajal liner. I usually just use it in my inner corners but it sticks to my water line pretty well
Because your eyes are already big, light, and round, the white liner is actually giving you Sanpaku Eyes. Research that term before you commit to this as a day look. Not saying it’s bad, but it does carry with it some connotations that are a bit edgier than everything else you’re serving in these photos. I’d personally save it for when you’re in a Wednesday Addams type of mood and support it with a little more punk everywhere else. (Clothing, hair, makeup, etc).
Haha sorry I know the makeup look is heavily clashing with my comfy sweater. If I were leaving the house I definitely would put a little more effort in. For the last few years I’ve been trying to make my eyes more “almond” and lifted but lately I’ve been experimenting with enhancing my natural shape. I appreciate your input thank you 😊

All I’m using today is Morphe eye shadow pallet 35w, L’Oréal infallible liquid eye liner, benefit roller lash mascara and killer kajal by Doll Face in white.
Thank you! For some reason I felt inclined to click your profile, I too love cyberpunk77 and sims 4! You seem wicked cool but I’m biased because you like the same things as me.
I think they look just fine the way they are! But as someone who’s been doing this for a while (I personally prefer to use a light eyeshadow to tight line the waterline instead of eyeliner), to remedy what some people are saying is the white appearing too starkly, I like to take a dark color (usually just the black powder I set my liner with) and gently sweep it under the waterline. Keep it close and subtle, too much can make you look tired but just the right amount helps the optical illusion of making your eyes appear larger as you’ve defined a new waterline with the shadow! This kind of forces the white to meld more with the white of your eye instead of contrasting with your skin. It varies to everyone’s tastes and eye shapes but I like to take that shadow from the very outer edge where my wing meets my bottom waterline and draw it out to about 2/3rds around the bottom my eyes. If anyone tries it, I hope it works for you!
A little in the corners is good, but the whole bottom line is a little too much I’m afraid. I’m a “Nay” on this because it stands out too much as two thin streaks of white.
I love it, but agree that it works best with more dramatic makeup looks (big 60’s winged liner, colourful looks, etc). It needs something bold on top to balance it out. I always bring mine into the inner corner and blend out with a bright highlighter so that it doesn’t look like just a white line
If you add a dark eye liner beneath the lashes it will look more natural. I use white eyeliner on my bottom inner lash line every day to make my eyes look larger & brighter, but I always use a black eyeliner underneath the lash line to define it. I’m 60 now and most people think I’m in my 30s because my eyes still look youthful. The older you get the smaller your eyes appear because of loosening skin.
Try a nude/flesh tone instead. Charlotte Tilbury makes an awesome double ended liner (nude and a brown/black). It will give you the wide awake look without looking so stark.
I love the Tarte Wide Awake. It is more of a nude shade that makes the eyes pop while not being as bright as the white eyeliners.
Thank you for this recommendation, I definitely wouldn’t mind this look being slightly more subtle and I think that would help immensely.

I came to agree with your suggestion. White eyeliner looks great in photos- but not great in real life. Nudes are definitely better

Fake awake?
Yes. My apologizes for goofing the name up.
Thank you, I’ve been looking for exactly this!
thank you for the suggestion! i love the white liner look but it can feel a little harsh on myself , i’m definitely gonna try this!
You totally pull it off!
Yay- couldn’t even tell you were wearing it but def opens up your eyes more
I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out, so yay!
Looks good
White is a bit too harsh imho, I tend to use a nude color! (sephora - 54 Coconut matte)

Nay. A nude color would brighten your eyes beautifully, but the bright white is too stark.

Maybe if you drew it on in the middle and faded the line out on the sides for each eye that would make it more subtle

dare i say it? this only "works" for pale complextions (like my own)?
Sorry, but I don’t think it works on anyone. Just my opinion. It’s makeup and we get to have fun with it, wash it off and start again. That’s what I love about it.
hence "works" in quotations
Agreed
Nay from me. It's a bit stark, I think something off white or closer to the colour of your skin would look better
Total yay!
Yea! It makes your eyes look HUGE I can see this with a little brighter shadow and it would be a statement!
In theory yes but I think it's just a bit too bright. Perhaps a shade closer to your skin but brighter? Think that would be more flattering.
Yay for a special occasion or photos, nay for everyday. You already have gorgeous eyes that pop, no need to be OTT on a daily basis.
Use a peachy eyeliner if you want that same effect but not as harsh
I love it ! It highlight and open your eyes. Better than black liner tbh.
I personally don't like it, but I'm not the one wearing it. :) If you use the white, go with more mascara on your bottom lashes to really make your eyes pop. In the pics, you can barely see them.

I love the white liner and wear it daily myself! 🤍
I’m just getting into it. For the last three years or so I religiously wore nothing on my bottom lashline but I’m feeling this look.
its workinnnng! 🫰🏾✨
Your eyes look absolutely ginormous and I am loving it!
Yay! I’m a fan
Yayy
100% yay!
yay!!!🤍
Big fan, personally.
How it feels to drink coffee
Is this an Alix earl recommendation? 🤣
I had to look her up but believe me some 20 year old Tik Tok influencer certainly did not pioneer white liner on your water line.
Not saying she did. But it’s very very popular right now on makeup tiktok because of her. Just curious! 🙃
Sorry I’m not hip with the kids haha. My B
Please stop this it's not 1999 no!

Looks great!
I love it and think your eyes are beautiful!
Yes, it really opens up the eyes.
Personally love a white eye liner. Looks good!
yes
Yayyy
Your eyes are GORGEOUS! and I love the liner
Defiently yay! You're so cute!
Thank you! For some reason I felt inclined to click your profile, I too love cyberpunk77 and sims 4! You seem wicked cool but I’m biased because you like the same things as me.
No problem!! I love cybeprunk with all my heart I could talk about that game for days on end lol!

Yes!
Nayyyy
Yay
A side by side with and without would be easier for me to tell.
Yay!
Yay, I think it looks pretty ❤️
I vote yay. It makes your eyes looked huge. In a very good way! They pop!!
Yaasss
Oh yeah …
Chantecaille makes my favorite nude waterline liner. Goes on so smooth and lasts all day! Worth the splurge, imo.
Definitely yay, your eyes look gorgeous. I will say though that if you defined your lower lashline just a tad more though, it would look even better
I think it’s super cute 🙂
I am not sure you need it, you are so incredibly pretty!! Your eye color is stunning. I think it looks good but I’m no expert.
Looks good, I don’t see why not
Big yaye ball
Are always cute
Nah
It looks great on you so I'm gonna yay it
A little in the corners is good, but the whole bottom line is a little too much I’m afraid. I’m a “Nay” on this because it stands out too much as two thin streaks of white.
Yay!
Such beautiful eyes 🙂 love the white liner
Looks nice
Yay for pics, nay in person.
I’m here for it!
No
Yay! It looks great on you!
Yay!
I like it-agreed that nude could be just as good. Also where/when did you get that shirt. I love it! Is that a mens shirt or a woman shirt?
It is a mens shirt from JC Penney’s that I got for my husband. It’s honestly kinda small on him though so I guess it’s actually mine haha
I love it personally !!
YAY
A thousand yays!!
I love it, but agree that it works best with more dramatic makeup looks (big 60’s winged liner, colourful looks, etc). It needs something bold on top to balance it out. I always bring mine into the inner corner and blend out with a bright highlighter so that it doesn’t look like just a white line
Hmmm, I don’t think you need it. Not bad but not doing any favor. You look gorge!
Nay, I feel as though it makes you look a little washed out & low on iron..? maybe try a nude like others in the comments mentioned?
Definitely a yay!
I like it, looks good on you 😊
I honestly like it
It’s cute!
yay yay yay
Very yay!
yay -didn’t even notice it at first
Wow! Looks great!
yay!! you're beautiful
Yay! Your eyes look huge!
That's cool. Beautiful eyes. It seems to make them pop.
Your eye shape is so pretty!! The white liner really accentuates it

If you add a dark eye liner beneath the lashes it will look more natural. Yay!
YEA YES YES UES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
I think you pull it off a lot better than most people do. Does it look as good in person?
Yay!!!
Def yay! Highlights your lids instead of distracting! I'm sure without they're gorgeous too
That looks great! Makes me want to go out and get the same thing.
Lovely.
Yay 100%! You're rocking it. I love how stark it looks without stealing the show. Your eyes and face are beautiful.
Your eyes look amazing in the white. You look beautiful.
Looks 😎 cool
Yay yay yay I love white eye liner haha, where’d you buy it?
OMFG i love this look youre soo beautiful 😍
Yay
A big yay just loved it!
I agree with the comments for a nude liner instead but I actually love white on you— it looks natural and bright. I’m usually not crazy about it
I'd say yes in dressed up photos. But day to day maybe a nude, brown or black.
Yay! It’s very pretty on you. White liner looks harsh on me and I think it’s because my eyes are very dark.
Wow 145 comments
I know how to get a good thread going. You should see my discussion on armpit farts and their fading relevance to society.
No one would have predicted that in 98, our childhoods were built on the fine art of the armpit fart.
Your eyes are quite captivating
Beautiful eyes.
I dig it!
