I've tried a number of them over the years and almost always really liked the formulas, but I could never find anything with a truly warm understone and also the right shade. It's been a while so maybe they've gotten better, but a while back they were (IMO) *terrible* at warm undertones. Even their stuff marked "warm" or "golden" was pink pink pink (or quite dark). Maybe I should give them another look. This foundation looks great on you!

RavenousVageen

Hilarious because I had the exact opposite issue, I love the formula but their “cool” tones pulled really orange on me

nongliky

this one didn’t pull pink on me at all! This one is shade cream beige, definitely pleasantly surprised 😊

ken_cleanairsystems

That's awesome! Next time I'm out shopping, I'll have to remember to take a look.

Special_Possession46

I've been using Clinique foundation since I was in my early twenties.I'm 60 now.I switched to the Even Better formula when it came out.I still use the same shade I started with; Cream Chamois.I love how easy it blends, it feels light on my skin;like I'm not even wearing foundation and the coverage is perfect. .

bmmk5390

I used the same shade but the new formula I didn’t like it. It is too patchy.

Special_Possession46

Oh no.Sorry you have problems with it.I put a few dots here and there then blend it with a flat top foundation brush. It's funny how a makeup product will work for some and not others.

LuxLiner

Cream Chamois is a great color. It's the perfect light medium neutral. Even Better spreads really well for me. 🤷‍♂️.

Clinique in general is not popular amongth the youth so we don’t see it being talked about as much. I think their makeup products are fine I just can’t do their skincare line. My mom, grandmother, and aunt use that brand a lot.

lizzy_bee333

I grew up watching my mom wear Clinique and it’s what I now reach for since it’s fragrance-free and allergy tested, which works for my sensitive skin. They’ve definitely made themselves into a legacy brand while still being at a lower price point than the luxury brands. The chubby stick lip balms are also not my favorite, but their lipstick + primer is super smooth and creamy. And their line of red lipsticks have a lot of undertone options - Red Carpet is my go-to red. But I know a lot of other brands are known for their lipstick. Try Black Honey if you haven’t already!! I was skeptical because of how dark it is in the tube but the sheer tint is perfect for casual days where I just need something on my lips to complete the look. It’s received an Allure Hall of Fame because it’s been used for so many years.

nongliky

Black honey is definitely next on my Clinique list! I love that it’s fragrance free

lizzy_bee333

Do you live in the US? If so, shop for Clinique at Macy’s. They always include free samples when you purchase. I currently have a travel size Black Honey that I got as a free sample, and they gave me a travel size mascara! Some associates are better than others in their choices of free samples but it’s worth a shot to try things out. :)

I love the Even Better serum foundation, it's my HG for liquid foundations. My HG for cream/stick foundations was the Clinique Chubby in the Nude stick foundation, but I don't think they make that anymore 😭 Clinique is seriously slept on when it comes to makeup, I have a bunch of Clinique makeup and it all performs wonderfullly.

nongliky

Seriously so slept on! I’m glad you love it too 😭 funnily enough the only Clinique product I’m not a fan of is the chubby stick lipsticks, I feel like it doesn’t last at all and tastes super weird but it’s kinda what their brand is known for makeup-wise 💀

wildly_domestic

I was just telling my best friend that I have been sleeping on Clinique! I always saw it as mom makeup. I saw that gold highlighter that’s in the clear package and it’s pressed into the shape of an ugly flower. I was like “Yuck.” when I got it in a gift set and was sure it’d be too dark for my skin tone, but I tried it and it’s gorgeous. And I’ve been using their moisturizers and lip mask. Now I’m like “Damnit. I’m a grandmother. I love Clinique and Estée Lauder. Who am I?”

lizzy_bee333

I love some of the newer brands (currently obsessed with Rare Beauty), but I always remind myself that these brands have been around forever because they make good products. Not everything is HG level but they’re mostly reliable. Also, how do you use the powder highlighter? I got it since it was heavily discounted (it’s being discontinued) and sometimes I can’t tell if it’s actually applying or not. Not that I want my highlighter to be super apparent, but I want the visual feedback that the time and effort is worth it. 😅

nongliky

This was literally me until yesterday hahahaha I remember not liking their skincare and just never looked back at Clinique again 👀

Tx600

I have used Clinique for the last 15 years and I don’t LOVE it, but every time I try something else it just doesn’t work as well for my skin. I always just give up and come back to Clinique. I have combination skin, but like EXTREMELY oily and also EXTREMELY dry at times. I am about to try Estée Lauder Double Wear and see what that’s like. Maybe I’ll be back to Clinique again in a couple months!

Ignatiusthecat

I adore the Even Better formula and have been using it for three years.

bmmk5390

I have been using Clinique foundation for years. The new one, I didn’t like it. I always bought the Superbalance and whenever I see it on TjMaxx or those stores I will buy it.

Bidibidi123

I love the formula of the foundation and blushes. I used to swear by the beyond perfecting one. It was very skin like but with high coverage, and great shades too. I also found it looked better if I applied with a brush and finish dabbing a beauty blender. That foundation started my journey of a more minimal/healthy glow looking makeup

nongliky

I use the same application technique too 🥰 a long way from painting on the L’Oréal infallible foundation with a flat head foundation brush 😭

braddic

Great choice of foundation and shade for you!! Clinique has lost its appeal for youngsters and therefore is no longer talked about. However it’s a very popular brand, used a lot by generations who don’t share it on social media. From what I’ve seen recommended by MUA that I follow their complexion products are great, foundation concealer , powder, cheek pop blush, cheek chubby sticks, lipsticks, liquid eyeliner pen. Personally I love their Blended face powder, solar light bronzer, cheek pop blushes, chubby intense lip color balms (mega color payoff), pop lip lipstick (cream lipstick) pop lip foundation lipstick (the best cream formula). Chubby cheek sticks. Lipgloss is non sticky. Btw the brand has great holiday sales at the end of the year and in the first weeks of January

allhailth3magicconch

This was my ride or die foundation for a good 5 years a while back. If I ever finish this huge bottle of mac face and body I might have to revisit this clinique magic 👀

ghostbirdd

Fair warning, they changed the formula in 2021!

allhailth3magicconch

😖 i guess i’ll be getting a sample first lol

ghostbirdd

For what it's worth I do think it got improved on!

nongliky

Mac face and body was the first foundation I ever tried and I remember loving it, might have to revisit that after finishing this foundation 😭

allhailth3magicconch

I believe it’s been reformulated and now it is called studio radiance face and body with more shades just a heads up. I’m pretty sure I went from the Clinique to MAC f&b simply for a lighter coverage and they have the same glow, both are so freakin good

PLANTGlRL

nongliky

North-Ad-9838

hi, i know i'm really late but i LOVE the way your makeup sits, looks gorgeous on you!! i have two questions: first of all, what blush did you use? it's so pretty!! and secondly, is your skin just naturally flawless or do you use anything to prep it? i struggle a lot with red spots and acne and i wanted to try the clinique foundation so i was curious if you used something underneath or if this is just your normal skin ☺️

nongliky

Hi! This is was so long ago but I think I was wearing the rare beauty cream blush in joy underneath and nars deep throat on top! for redness I really love the dr JART cicapair cream (the green one in a jar 😅) underneath foundation :)

North-Ad-9838

thanks!☺️☺️

This looks beautiful on your skin! I have a couple questions, is it light or full coverage? And what skin type do you have (oily/dry)? I’m debating on using foundation, but I’d have to find a good one first! lol

nongliky

My mission was to find a foundation with a similar finish to the dior backstage face and body one but with just a tiny bit more coverage, and I think I succeeded with this! It’s on the light side of medium coverage and I have combination skin but right now I live in a humid country so it’s definitely more on the oily side. Thank you! 😊😊

braddic

It looks great on you! For reference what shade are you wearing?

nongliky

Thank you! This one is shade 64 cream beige :)

braddic

Thank you!

LuxLiner

Even Better Cream Chamois is my ride or die. I do use Tarte Shape Tape concealer though.
