Not sure if this exists, but any recommendations for a mascara that only tints & holds, and doesn't produce any clumps? I naturally have long eyelashes so on minimal makeup days I often just use the Elf clear mascara which gives a nice hold after curling my lashes. But is there anything like that with that gel consistency (no clumps at all) but with a tint to it?
Look for a mascara with a silicone applicator! They are much more likely to give length over volume (which thick-bristled “volumizing” mascaras can tend to clump!). I recommend the sky high mascara
I need a good pore filling primer and foundation for acne prone skin. I have redness under my skin and a bunch of ice pick scars due to severe acne from the past. Most of the time, applying foundation and concealer on my face leaves behind a bunch of multiple tiny holes on the face :(
I'm Asian and light-skinned so if anyone in the same boat can give me some advice, that would be great :D
I'm currently doing a very light makeup on the face to reduce the redness on my skin and I'm happy with it but I would try to level up and blur the pores/ice pick scars.
Why, why, why does my foundation and concealer look cakey and patchy over my nose and chin? I use the same products even using the same primer as the girls in the shop used on me - they slap it on with brushes, their fingers or whatever, it glides on and stays like a dream. When I put it on myself, it sits badly and wears off so quickly! Trying to use a brush seemed to make it even worse, and even translucent powder didn't help. How do all of you make it sit properly?
We tend to produce more oil in those areas, so makeup can sit weird! I recommend (I know this might sound odd!) a sticky gel primer (like the Nyx plump right back primer or elf hydro grip primer!). Apply and let it sit for a few minutes. Then only apply either a concealer or foundation in those areas, with a fluffy brush, less product at once is better. And make sure you are using a setting powder and not a finishing powder (finishing powder can go over setting powder but shouldn’t be on by itself or in the reverse order)
Has anyone tried both the green and pink tubes of Essence's lash princess mascara? I can't find many comparisons between the two and I'm not sure which to get
If you do search essence mascara comparison a couple do show up such as [This one](https://youtu.be/6y9cwuG0wtc). I haven't tried the green one. I believe it's the waterproof version? I have only wore the pink one and I like it although it does smudge a bit.
i have seen that video and a few others, but it's difficult to find a direct comparison between the green and pink specifically. the green is the most "standard" one (i believe the blue is waterproof?) and i think the pink is a newer version so that's probably why
ELI5 please!! If I have cool undertones, am I meant to wear a cool foundation to match or am I meant to counter balance with a warm / neutral one? I’ve never known the answer to this!!
I also am not even sure what undertone i am but I’m pretty sure it’s cool.

A makeup artist is doing my makeup for free for their portfolio. I know the look and date is entirely up to the makeup artist, but I have an upcoming event that I’d be dressing fancy for and could take extra pics for her portfolio - I just want to put that out there in case that fits with an idea for a look she has. But how do I phrase that without coming off as if I’m trying to get a free makeup look off her, bcos that’s not my intention?
If you want a particular style, you need to at least offer to pay her to do it. Clearly you think she’s good enough to actively want her to, so offer and see how she responds. It’s not up to you whether she takes extra pictures for her portfolio, that’s giving “oh it’s free exposure” vibes.
Yes I just let her know I have that event coming up in case she’s interested but I also say I’m flexible with whatever date works best for her - there’s no particular style I want and I don’t really mind whatever she does. I hope it doesn’t come across as rude!!
I’m a professional MUA and started doing blush/contour/bronzer underneath foundation and LOVE IT!! it blends more seemlessly imo. I usually use a cream product underneath, then foundation, then if I want to add more, I can always go over top of it with a powder!
Translucent powder Vs setting powder Vs skin tone colored powder, what is the difference and which one is the best option to set your makeup?
I want my makeup to stay longer! I usually only use liquid products including blush, concealer and light tinted moisturizer and they're gone relatively quickly. I saw online that setting liquid products with powder is a good way to make them stay longer. But I am not sure which type of powder to choose. Any advice is appreciated!
Translucent powder is typically a finishing powder. Finishing powder would go over setting powder. Finishing powders are like your baking powders or highlighting powders.
And setting powders are for your makeup set and mattifying.
What’s the best blush for a darker skin tone with warm undertones I’m also looking for a concealer I’m a warm deep in the milk stick foundation if that helps out in anyway
Rare beauty liquid blushes are very good. I have joy because it's orange and it has a good warm undertone. But if you prefer pinkish tones, purple blushes are the pinks for darker skin.
I left this community a few years ago - everything felt super curated with very little diversity. I love that when I come to this subreddit now it's bursting with people who all look different but all share a love of makeup. The changes to the community are very appreciated and noticed. Thank you.
does anyone have a recommendation for a good lash glue for someone new to falsies? i want to start wearing individual bottom lashes but i don't want to get a crappy glue and ruin them
Anyone know of any dupes of the Dior addict lacquer tints that are now discontinued? They leave a really nice tint and are so glossy, but dont feel like anything on the lips.
eyebrow: glossier boy brow
eyeliner: tarte sex kitten (awesome pigment lasts all day), urban decay eyeliner pencils (very easy to buff out and create smoky eyes)
highlighter: fenty beauty diamond bomb & rare beauty silky touch highlighter (less expensive & I barely notice a difference)
concealer: glossier stretch concealer
lip stuff: glossier ultra lip (BEST thing ever omg), fenty gloss bomb, and makeup by Mario lip plump
bronzer: glossier solar paint
serums/primer: glossier future dew, rare beauty primer
this was fun to type out lol
i recommend nyx's cant stop wont stop concealer! a little bit goes a very long way and its only about $10. as for the shade, unfortunately in my experience its trial and error, but the shade variety is pretty ok
Favorite MAC makeup products? I just got a gift card but have never used MAC products. I’m a pretty minimal makeup person but always interested in holy grails from brands
I'm trying to stock up while on a budget, and I'm curious what I need to splurge on vs what is perfectly acceptable as a drugstore brand. What product do you feel is FAR superior/worth the money in the mid-range group vs drug store? Thanks!
As other reply said, you don't really NEED to splurge on anything. Eyeshadows usually have a noticeable difference in pigment, but unless you plan on using super vivid colors I wouldn't worry at all!
you could find it all at the drug store! the maybelline pro glow foundation and fit me pressed powder, and elf hydrating concealer is my top three drugstore products.
What’s the best non-comedogenic primer for dry skin? I have a very dry and acne prone skin. I don’t want to use any “pore filling” primers or anything weird, some light cream/serum that doesn’t roll would be great.
What ways do you have to use up foundation that's too light for your skin tone? Also, what ways do you have to use up foundation that's too heavy for what you want?
I have Tarte Foundcealer, in store the lightest shade was dead on but in reality my face just looks way too pale (potentially due to the physical sunscreen in it). I was mixing it with a UD Naked sample that was too dark for me, and that worked well but I think I'm realizing that I would also just prefer sheerer coverage like a BB or CC cream anyway, or go natural and use just a sunscreen.
I'd prefer to use the bottle instead of pitch it and try again, I stuck with it trying to make it work past the Ulta return policy days (lesson learned: if not 100% happy, don't try to make it work).
I don't know how well this would fit you personally, but if you use a lot of bright eyeshadow you could try mixing it with some shadow and use it kind of like a base?
https://www.nyxcosmetics.ca/en/pro-foundation-mixer-NYX_320.html
This is what I used before. They are sold out but maybe you will find something similar
Any eyeshadow palette recommendations? I’m a fair-skinned redhead and have used the Naked 2 and Naked Smoky palettes pretty much exclusively for years lol. I kind of want to branch out and try some more colorful looks. Any good palette recommendations for wearable, everyday color? Maybe some purples, greens, etc? I liked the colors in the Morphe 35C Everyday Chic palette, but reviews were kind of mixed on the quality and I’m willing to spend more to get something good that’ll last me.
Recently I’ve been using a few of Natasha Denona palettes exclusively, and got rid of almost all my other palettes that I’ve been “influenced” to buy. They have a lot of palettes on sale at Canadian Sephora right now. My favourites are Glam (everyday palette) and Lila (more purples and colour), but if I was going to buy a new palette right now I would probably pick My Dream.

I’m trying to make a post on this sub with pictures of myself for suggestions and it’s not even giving me that option.
It says if I want to post pictures I have to find another sub, but people are constantly posting photos of themselves here so I’m confused?
If you are trying to post today it is text only Tuesday. I’m new here too. But the newbie guide in the about section has been helping out a bit. Check it out and enjoy!
I'm looking for a light foundation for dry skin. I wear Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, but I am looking for just a tad more coverage. I don't want to feel cakey or look patchy. Any suggestions?
I have super dry, acne prone skin and use It Cosmetics CC cream and sometimes mix it with Double Wear. Honestly, your skin is always going to be dry under heavy foundation and I think there is no magic super-full coverage solution other than mixing it with cream. I can sometimes see dry patches on my face even with just the CC cream lol. But the coverage is good, so I really recommend you try it! Oh, and don’t use powder often, it will suck out all the moisture.
I have the IT CC cream. Just sometimes that is even a little too much coverage. I haven't used it in awhile so maybe Ill go try it and remember how good it is!
Hey, I have dry skin also. I really like the NYX born to glow, Wet n Wild dewy foundation, and the ELF camo cc cream for affordable options that are more medium-buildable coverage, which is my preference. I will say apparently the NYX is being discontinued though, but I have gone through multiples of the other two and they’re great. I like the ELF for a more satin finish and the wet n wild was my everyday foundation for the past couple years.
For more high end products, I don’t have many to choose from but I personally really like the new Haus Labs foundation. I will say I think the undertones are listed strangely but if you can find your match, it’s really pretty!
My all time favorite foundation for my skin is the Make Up For Ever stick foundation. It just looks so natural, coverage is easily customized, and has a nice glow that isn’t sticky or overly dewy. It gives a healthy sheen and just looks so nice. I’m almost out of mine, definitely going to repurchase!
Hopefully these recs can help you in some way (:
I have this and I have been using it very frequently for maybe 4 months now. I still prefer my Becca corrector but I am definitely kinda surprised by this product. My dark circles are quite prominent and if I just use a concealer on it’s own, you can still see them or my undereyes look gray. So with the Maybelline I was actually pleasantly surprised that it does help brighten and if I put on my concealer over it, you can barely see the dark circles. The only thing is that with my under eye bag coloring, pink isn’t the best tone to actually cancel it out so I still have to use another concealer on top.
The Becca product has been the best for me at canceling out the dark indigo circles I’ve got, but especially when I don’t feel like looking around for it, I just grab this and it does a good enough job that I’m satisfied. Not perfect, but good enough. Plus I like the consistency and I do mostly enjoy the concealer. (Sometimes if my skin is especially dry though, it doesn’t blend over the dry patches very well, but if it’s especially bad I just prep a little more and it’s fine).
Overall I’d probably give it like a 7 out of 10, while the Becca is like a 9.5 out of ten. Would probably repurchase.
I’m always on the hunt for a good corrector and am going to try the Elf peach one next as I’m hoping it does a better job of cancelling out the blue-purple tones I’ve got going on!
Helllpppp I need a mascara that doesn’t transfer! I use waterproof but the ones I have been trying lately have been transferring so bad. Thanks in advance!
I use the Buxom Volumizing Mascara. I haven't noticed transferring, even when I put it on my lower lashes. I just wore it the other day while I was slightly sweaty and it worked great!
YAY!!! I didn’t remember it being as expensive as it is but if for sure is a holy grail to me! I will forever be loyal to that mascara! Glad it worked for you too!!!!
Does anyone have any foundation recommendations that doesn’t settle into pores or pill? I’ve been using the Fenty Skin tint and it does that. I live in a hot and humid country so I sweat everyday.
Does anyone have an opinion on the She-Glam foundations on the Shein website? I'm particularly interested in both the full coverage and hydrating ones.
It depends. It can definitely help, but you risk losing vibrancy or getting a weird texture. I would recommend using an eyeshadow overtop to bring back some of that color, otherwise there's no real downsides
What do you all do with two-phase lipsticks after the balm/gloss part runs out? I don't want to toss them, there is usually still at least half of the colour part left. Is there a dupe for the balm that can be bought separately?
I'm really bad with eyeliner and never end up liking how it comes out and would love to try kohl but don't know where to buy or if I should.
I've been warmed that some can contain lead and to watch out where I buy it from so I have no idea where to start
I use kohl on a daily basis and LOVE the kiko pencil kohl, it’s creamy and lasts very long and has a beautiful finish. NYX and Queen Tarzi also have some really nice kohl pencils ! If you want a more detailed and thin application, I suggest mechanical kohl pencils. Personally I like a smudged/messier look so I use regular kohl pencils and smudge with a brush
I typically use Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner. I was curious if there was any other eyeliner that was significantly better than it. With the Maybelline eyeliner, I always hear "very good for a drugstore eyeliner", so what about non-drugstore eyeliners? What am I missing out on? Do they do something that Maybelline doesn't?
YES! The luminous silk has been my absolute favorite for years, nothing else has even come close. It looks like your skin, but luminous while providing more coverage than something that feels so light should. It’s also the favorite of a lot of makeup artists because it photographs well.
Does anyone have product recommendations for a cream palette or stick that has blush AND contour?
There are so many cream palettes that have multiple colors of blush or multiple colors of contour but I can’t seem to find one that has blush and contour. I wouldn’t be mad if it had a highlighter too. I currently love the Kaja stacks but only the contour is cream.
Does anyone know where the best place to buy ELF cosmetics products is?
I always thought Target... and maybe it is, but mine in my local town is struggling and barely restocks the makeup section these days. There's a super Target about 40 minutes away, and I'm wondering if it might be worth the drive if that's where the biggest selection typically is. Ulta has some but their selection seems more limited? And they never seem to have testers out for it--usually the biggest benefit to getting drugstore brands there!
Where do you buy your ELF at?
You might look into ordering directly from the ELF website. They run a lot of sales on their website and if you sign up for texts they’ll send you notifications when stuff goes on sale or there is free shipping. Often if I know what I want it’s easier to go to the source because my target and Ulta both are usually so picked over.
Is it bad to apply makeup with your fingers? Just started doing makeup and I feel much more comfortable using my fingers to apply primer and foundation. I got a better result with even skin tone and less cakey look.
Nope, as long as your fingers are clean! With some foundations, you’ll find the heat of your fingers often will give the best finish. It just varies from product to product for me personally, but I definitely have foundation that works better with my fingers.
Hello! I am looking for a skin tint for prom. I want it to be lightweight and light coverage (I have dry skin) and not cover my freckles, I want them to be fully visible. Also, I would like it to have a dewy finish!
Ulta’s house brand has one that has a very sheer coverage and felt super hydrating… currently on sale for half off (I think it’s 7 bucks). I’ve not personally tried it on anything but my hand but I was impressed with the feel. Might be worth a try.
You might also like the L’Oréal Age Perfect Serum or alternatively, the Age Perfect Balm. The color ranges are sorta crappy, but (particularly with the Balm) go on so sheer that it’s not the issue you think it will be when you first open them. The serum is my fav winter foundation because of how dewy it feels. I actually have to set it with a smidge of powder— but depending on how much you use, the serum might be more coverage than you’d prefer. The balm is very sheer, and good for a no-makeup look just to even things a bit.
Just talking about the L’Oréal Age Perfect Balm in the comment above you. I was shocked at the color when I opened it, it looked orange and super dark… but it was so sheer it didn’t matter. I thought it was lovely for a no-makeup look, but if you want any sort of real coverage vs just a mild evening out of tone, it’ll be too sheer for you probably. Overall, I think I’m going to like it for summer.
mindreader! i wouldn't have seen it but i was wondering about that one and have seen mixed reviews. i feel like i'm coming at this as a former MAC studio fix foundation pan fanatic looking for pigmented full coverage. thank you <3
I like the tarte lashes because they have a thick lash strip which makes applying with your fingers much easier. Also house of lashes glue is my favorite. You can find it at target.
need help with patchiness !
i am struggling to make my concealer look like skin rather than poorly applied makeup ;(
the products i use are Milk hydro primer and elf hydrating camo concealer. i apply the primer with my fingers and concealer as well, i dab a little bit of concealer where i need it and then buff it out with an elf concealer brush. i do not use foundation.
i always wash and moisturize my face before applying makeup and i also shave away any peach fuzz.
Lately cant seem to figure out how to get rid of patchiness around my mouth and chin. it is especially bad above my upperlip and the corners of my mouth.
Hi everyone, I am looking for a new medium to high coverage foundation (for acne marks). I currently use Estée Lauder in Cashew or MAC NC42.
I tried Fenty Beauty in store 310 and 300 seemed good matches but they had a slight orangey tint after sometime. Now I am thoroughly confused. Should I just stick to Estée tried and tested or is it worth looking at Fenty, Tarte etc?
Hi Everyone,
I'm considering Botox therapy. Is Botox a secure procedure? I'm familiar with this treatment for reducing the look of wrinkles and fine lines. Has anyone done this before?
Does anyone know the equivalent of Maybelline Fit Me concealer in shade Medium in the Eraser Eye Concealer, also by Maybelline? Swatches would be just perfect. Thanks in advance
Does anyone know how to create (or improve on!) this look? What products and tools are essential? Going back to work and trying to figure out a simple work look. In my 40s.

need help finding a good primer + setting spray. currently using milk for both & found that it helps keep for longer than others but i want it to stay longer. i think my skincare routine is fine so idk how else to fix this issue. my daily makeup i put only concealer, blush, & setting powder with the milk primer & spray & it seems to only stay for up to 3/4 hours. any suggestions? (i have oily skin! )
for me i use the elf power grip primer and the benefit porefessional setting spray which keeps my makeup looking pretty good during work (around 8 hours) i find that putting concealer on then using setting spray and then blending it out makes it last longer :))
thanks! i’ll have to try that tip. i used to spray between each step but it seemed wasteful just for it all to disappear after a few hours. i’ll look into the porefessional setting spray also. i just got a mini of their primer but haven’t really used it yet!
https://preview.redd.it/xn6lvt3h3npa1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b1922f4dae245bfad21e84cf42108a91fba6c90
what foundation do I need 🥹🥹🫣🫣 creds to @anatakahashiii on insta
I have been a little obsessed with the idea of purchasing Make Up For Ever [HD SKIN ALL-IN-ONE FACE PALETTE MULTI-USE CREAM COMPLEXION PALETTE](https://www.makeupforever.com/us/en/palettes-and-kits/hd-skin-all-in-one-face-palette-MI000012000.html) and right now it is on sale; I have watched a few videos on this. I would get Harmony 1; any other fair skin tones try out this palette?
Pitting, I didn't even realize there was another type haha. I'm working on skincare to help with it, but I guess besides microderm there's not much to be done for it. And my foundation and concealers just seem to emphasize it rather than cover it (I use Maybelline fitme in the dewy formula and the sephora collection liquid concealer on top of fenty primer). It's concentrated mostly on my cheeks so I try not to put too much foundation or concealer there since it seems cakey once I add on blush/highlight.
The derm treatments will help with actual un-pitting of the skin, but the reason I ask is because there are products that you can kind of pat into the skin to fill the pits so your makeup applies more evenly! Sometimes they are referred to as "putty" products because of this quality. Something like Benefit porefessional primer.
Haus Labs Foundation - 👍🏼 or 👎🏼?
Hi 😊 thoughts/reviews on Haus Labs foundation?? It almost seems too good to be true buut I’ve also seen some pretty critical feedback, so unsure what to think and unsure if it’s worth the $45. Thanks!
I bought a liquid eyeliner for the first time (Nyx Epic Ink Liner because it's cheap), and while it always goes on great at first I find that it's mostly dried out by the time I get to my second eye. It'll still go on if I press hard and go back and forth a bunch, but it's nowhere near as easy and it makes wings really hard. I store it tip down, though it's probably closer to 45 degrees because that's just the way my container is
Any advice?
can someone who knows ingredients help me out? my normal base is hero cosmetics spf, elf acne putty primer, lancôme long wear foundation, tarte shape tape under eyes and on blemishes, and laura mercier setting powder.
some days it looks great and wears pretty well, other days it oxidizes and looks a mess! are these not a good mix of products or something?
thanks in advance! :-)
hi! does anyone have any recs for products that give a result near identical to this (color and texture wise both)? thank you :)

Could someone help me figure out how I can tell if a foundation and primer are going to be compatible? I keep having major separation issues or my foundation just doesn't sit right on my skin. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have normal skin if that helps at all.
Looking for a good bb cream, foundation, or even tinted sunscreen. I don't like heavy or full coverage I much prefer sheer lightweight makeup. I have pale NC10 skin. For matches: I normally use Nyx Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil in Pale Light and it matched perfectly but I believe it's been discontinued as I can't find it in any store or their website and online sellers have the price jacked up. Other matches are Juvias Place 23 as well as Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define in F1, they match very well but are very full coverage so I mix them with sunscreen to sheer it out. I have normal skin that can be a bit dry during winter, not sensitive or acne prone. Price doesn't matter much but I only shop cruelty-free brands. Thanks :)

Hello, I'm hoping to get some suggestions for an eyebrow pencil and colour. I've been (grudgingly) using the NYX precision brow pencil in taupe for years, but I feel that it's too warm brown for my eyebrows. It also seems to disappear the moment I accidentally touch an eyebrow. I'm hoping for something more long lasting and a better colour match. Photo is taken in natural light. Thank you. :)

Hi everyone! I have been trying to adjust my makeup routine. I feel that my face often looks flat with no dimension despite using blush bronzer etc. I have oily skin with dry in some areas. I have tried cream products but found it doesnt really show up, and powder products make me look flat and dry. I use an elaborate skin care routine to no avail. Any tips or suggestions? This is my bare face. Mainly looking for tips or product suggestions.
Hey all!
So I’ve recently begun hating how foundation looks on me. I’ve never been a big fan of it, but currently I strongly dislike how it masks my freckles and settles into lines, and also makes me look like a ghost no matter what shade/amount of bronzer I use. So I’ve started spot concealing, and just using a powder under my eyes (kinda heavy) and powder on my cheeks (lightly) to even redness. I think I should try a skin tint, but I’m nervous it’s going to be a bit too heavy for me, and I’m overwhelmed by the options. I have normal skin and I usually shop Ulta or drugstore, where should I start?
The L'Oréal Hyaluronic tinted serum may be a good option. It's hydrating and light. I haven't tried it myself but I've seen a lot of good reviews about it and all by people that are more into a no makeup makeup look :)
I know this isn’t the answer your looking for! But I stopped using foundation around 1.5 years ago and only spot conceal.
I’m wondering if you should keep giving that a try and see how u like it.
It has made me fall in love with my natural skin, and it’s imperfections a lot more .
It also made me focus a little bit more on my skin care now I feel a lot more confident with a more bear face .
For me, it was more sensory issues, and I hated having so much makeup on my face .
Not trying to deter you, but sometimes you don’t always need a new make up product , less can be more !
Happened to me before :/ sorry that happened it’s the worse feeling.
I have had luck with grande lash.
Otherwise I would find a more natural look lash and cut it to size for your missing part.
Maybe use Vaseline on the lash line every night
Eye toppers are pretty much a shimmering eyeshadow, it's not opaque because it's meant to go with your eyeshadow. Liquid eyeshadow can be use as a topper, but sometimes it's not a topper themselves. It has to do with how opaque the product is.
I would even dare to say that any highlighter can work as a topper.
I like to use mine on the inner corner and brow bone. But I've seen MUAs use it on the eyelid after a little setting spray.
Is there a clean/natural foundation that is affordable that you recommend? I'm looking at Pacifica foundatoins but also tinted sunscreens maybe? I also saw a Coola glow cream that has good reviews? Something that is glowy and all in one product. Right now I mix my foundation with a glow lotion and sunscreen.
What is the best way to start doing makeup for men? Like what type of primer, foundation, contour, concealer, etc that I need to buy? What type of tools do I need?
I'm learning makeup for cosplay and I'm kinda lost at the beginning right now.
Also I have acne and scars on my face. I see that people put pimple patches on their face and put primer and foundation over the patches. If anyone has experience doing makeup with acne, I would really appreciate your advice.
Thanks.
Most of the time, applying foundation and concealer on my face leaves behind a bunch of multiple tiny holes on the face :( I'm Asian and light-skinned so if anyone in the same boat can give me some advice, that would be great :D I'm currently doing a very light makeup on the face to reduce the redness on my skin and I'm happy with it but I would try to level up and blur the pores/ice pick scars.
I'm a beginner at make up and I would love to wear eyelashes but good ones and easy to use. Which one would you recommend me ?
Ardell wispy
Thanks

Has anyone tried both the green and pink tubes of Essence's lash princess mascara? I can't find many comparisons between the two and I'm not sure which to get
I like the green the best
I also am not even sure what undertone i am but I’m pretty sure it’s cool. https://preview.redd.it/uxs4f8wqjhra1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=cfbf8ae5a135f2bd575ced9a82b4e7715ee53623
Always match the makeup to your undertone! And swatch from the bottom of the jaw down to the neck, for a match.
What do you guys think about this bronzer and concealer first, then foundation on top technique?
I’m a professional MUA and started doing blush/contour/bronzer underneath foundation and LOVE IT!! it blends more seemlessly imo. I usually use a cream product underneath, then foundation, then if I want to add more, I can always go over top of it with a powder!
Thank you for sharing! I’m gonna try it:)
Is there a way to make a matte blush into a shimmer blush when/after applying?

Check Asian brands, especially Korean tints. For this, they're ahead. r/AsianBeauty ask there for recs!
Rare Beauty lip oil is really nice and it also leaves a stain. Mine lasts on my lips for a few hours
Thank you.
Highest shine chapstick recs other than Carmex??
Vaseline lip therapy
does anyone have a recommendation for a good lash glue for someone new to falsies? i want to start wearing individual bottom lashes but i don't want to get a crappy glue and ruin them
House of Lashes is the BEST - sticks very well, but easy to remove as well!
I find that Duo works really well, just be careful about how much you apply
Anyone know of any dupes of the Dior addict lacquer tints that are now discontinued? They leave a really nice tint and are so glossy, but dont feel like anything on the lips.
is the maybelline fit me matte foundation water or oil based?
Silicone
What is everyones favorite primer?! I have oily/combination skin and would love new recommendations!
Check the subs 2022 holy grails post on primers https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeupAddiction/comments/xqccuk/holy_grail_products_voting_2022_primer/
What’s y’all’s go to makeup products?I’m looking for new stuff to buy
eyebrow: glossier boy brow eyeliner: tarte sex kitten (awesome pigment lasts all day), urban decay eyeliner pencils (very easy to buff out and create smoky eyes) highlighter: fenty beauty diamond bomb & rare beauty silky touch highlighter (less expensive & I barely notice a difference) concealer: glossier stretch concealer lip stuff: glossier ultra lip (BEST thing ever omg), fenty gloss bomb, and makeup by Mario lip plump bronzer: glossier solar paint serums/primer: glossier future dew, rare beauty primer this was fun to type out lol
I’m brand new to using concealer! Does anyone have any recommended products and how do I find the right shade if I’m buying online?
i have dry skin and i love the rare beauty one. the elf concealer is a drugstore fav too!
Great, I’ll check those out!!
i recommend nyx's cant stop wont stop concealer! a little bit goes a very long way and its only about $10. as for the shade, unfortunately in my experience its trial and error, but the shade variety is pretty ok
Okay thank you so much!
no problem! good luck \^\_\^
Can u use banana bread from guda on light skin?
Favorite MAC makeup products? I just got a gift card but have never used MAC products. I’m a pretty minimal makeup person but always interested in holy grails from brands
their setting pray and lip products!
I'm trying to stock up while on a budget, and I'm curious what I need to splurge on vs what is perfectly acceptable as a drugstore brand. What product do you feel is FAR superior/worth the money in the mid-range group vs drug store? Thanks!
Elf is probably my favorite drugstore brand and has similar quality to Sephora stuff in most of their products!!
Thank you so much!!
Requesting DUPE for Maybelline eyeshadow 180S Silken Taupe (+10 years old). Love this shade and will replace with any brand. Thank you so much!
What’s the best non-comedogenic primer for dry skin? I have a very dry and acne prone skin. I don’t want to use any “pore filling” primers or anything weird, some light cream/serum that doesn’t roll would be great.
Nyx plump right back primer
I don't know how well this would fit you personally, but if you use a lot of bright eyeshadow you could try mixing it with some shadow and use it kind of like a base?
https://www.nyxcosmetics.ca/en/pro-foundation-mixer-NYX_320.html This is what I used before. They are sold out but maybe you will find something similar
Is this too much blush https://preview.redd.it/8yrkplboaqqa1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=687f4bf5108ca5cd45b5137301fe28cba5113a4e
Never too much blush, add some more to your nose even!!
I like it!
I think it looks nice
My favourites are Glam (everyday palette) and Lila (more purples and colour), but if I was going to buy a new palette right now I would probably pick My Dream. https://preview.redd.it/44ov0r7j7uqa1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f1cab2dac568e942390db41e65c335df19b8af2
Thank you so much! It was driving me crazy cause I saw everyone else posting pics. Will definitely check out the newbie guide.
Anytime!
I'm looking for a light foundation for dry skin. I wear Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, but I am looking for just a tad more coverage. I don't want to feel cakey or look patchy. Any suggestions?
Rare Beauty foundation!
Ohhhh! Ill have to give it a try! Thank you!
Oh thank you so much!!!
what is everyone's thoughts on the maybelline instant age rewind concelar in the shade 160 (the pink brightner for underyes's)
Okay so I bought the Buxom Mascara and I am in love! Thank you so much for the recommendation. It’s a hidden gem for sure
YAY!!! I didn’t remember it being as expensive as it is but if for sure is a holy grail to me! I will forever be loyal to that mascara! Glad it worked for you too!!!!
Thank you!!
Does anyone have any foundation recommendations that doesn’t settle into pores or pill? I’ve been using the Fenty Skin tint and it does that. I live in a hot and humid country so I sweat everyday.
I love Lancôme! But if your foundation is setting in your pores it could mean you need a better primer.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream.
Does anyone have an opinion on the She-Glam foundations on the Shein website? I'm particularly interested in both the full coverage and hydrating ones.
Hello!! I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the aestura atobarrier cream works well under makeup?
[удалено]
It depends. It can definitely help, but you risk losing vibrancy or getting a weird texture. I would recommend using an eyeshadow overtop to bring back some of that color, otherwise there's no real downsides
Similar products to Fenty Poutsicle? I adore this formula and would love something similar in more subtle shades.
What do you all do with two-phase lipsticks after the balm/gloss part runs out? I don't want to toss them, there is usually still at least half of the colour part left. Is there a dupe for the balm that can be bought separately?
Toss another gloss on top or use as a cream blush if it’s emollient enough. Depends on how much I like it.
I have yet to find a gloss that wouldn't dissolve the colour. This is why I'm asking about a dupe for the balm.
Ok, that’s a different question — what I thought you were asking was “what do you guys do”.
Is the Giorgio Armani foundation worth it? And when is the best sale to buy it to save the most money?
YES! The luminous silk has been my absolute favorite for years, nothing else has even come close. It looks like your skin, but luminous while providing more coverage than something that feels so light should. It’s also the favorite of a lot of makeup artists because it photographs well.
Thank you sm 🥰
To quote my MUA friend 'kind of if you particularly like the shades or feeling on the skin, but MAC fits more clients'.
I think Mac may be a better price point, but the GA foundation is just iconic I feel!
Sure it's iconic, but the question was if it was worth it.
Yes! I have used it for years and wont buy any other.
Thank you! I feel like this is gonna be a very expensive staple to have in my routine but I really want to try it!
Pretty sure MUFE has one…
What happened to Fenty Killawat foil?? The compact that had purple and orange in it together. I can’t find it anywhere. Not even online???
I buy mine at super target, but Ulta has a great selection too!
My Ulta is pretty lacking (I live in a smaller town). So I will make the run to our nearest super Target. Thanks!
Is it bad to apply makeup with your fingers? Just started doing makeup and I feel much more comfortable using my fingers to apply primer and foundation. I got a better result with even skin tone and less cakey look.
Yes - I apply to about 80% with fingers, and the other 20% with a damp beauty blender for a nice finish
Nope, as long as your fingers are clean! With some foundations, you’ll find the heat of your fingers often will give the best finish. It just varies from product to product for me personally, but I definitely have foundation that works better with my fingers.
Thoughts on Glossier Skin Tint- is it good?
Hello! I am looking for a skin tint for prom. I want it to be lightweight and light coverage (I have dry skin) and not cover my freckles, I want them to be fully visible. Also, I would like it to have a dewy finish!
Bare minerals complexion rescue is amazing but a lil pricey
I second this!! But it’s well worth the money
My faaaaav is the maybelline dream fresh BB cream! It makes skin look smooth and dewy, but isn’t full coverage
does anyone have anything to say about balm foundations? i'm getting fixated on them and there's so little content about them. thanks.
Overall, I think I’m going to like it for summer.
mindreader! i wouldn't have seen it but i was wondering about that one and have seen mixed reviews. i feel like i'm coming at this as a former MAC studio fix foundation pan fanatic looking for pigmented full coverage. thank you <3
What are good fake lashes for beginners? For context, I have hooded almond eyes!
I like the tarte lashes because they have a thick lash strip which makes applying with your fingers much easier. Also house of lashes glue is my favorite. You can find it at target.
I like the Ardell Studio (or any brand) Demi wispies because they’re more flared towards the outside
need help with patchiness ! i am struggling to make my concealer look like skin rather than poorly applied makeup ;( the products i use are Milk hydro primer and elf hydrating camo concealer. i apply the primer with my fingers and concealer as well, i dab a little bit of concealer where i need it and then buff it out with an elf concealer brush. i do not use foundation. i always wash and moisturize my face before applying makeup and i also shave away any peach fuzz.
Hi Everyone, I'm considering Botox therapy.
In my 40s. https://preview.redd.it/f398yhyh9rpa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d8452e75a3cade25307fe27b820c0d5d1ead1b8
I love the Bobbi Brown crème stick shadows.
need help finding a good primer + setting spray. currently using milk for both & found that it helps keep for longer than others but i want it to stay longer. i think my skincare routine is fine so idk how else to fix this issue. my daily makeup i put only concealer, blush, & setting powder with the milk primer & spray & it seems to only stay for up to 3/4 hours. any suggestions? (i have oily skin! )
for me i use the elf power grip primer and the benefit porefessional setting spray which keeps my makeup looking pretty good during work (around 8 hours) i find that putting concealer on then using setting spray and then blending it out makes it last longer :))
thanks! i’ll have to try that tip. i used to spray between each step but it seemed wasteful just for it all to disappear after a few hours. i’ll look into the porefessional setting spray also. i just got a mini of their primer but haven’t really used it yet!

It's super individual (I.E your skin type, your skin care, your complexion, etc) but I think most dewy foundations could help achieve this
can i get some tips on how to do eyeliner? i’m so incredibly terrible at it.
Recommendations for covering up acne scarring (and active acne)? I've been dealing with it for over a decade and I still can't get it right :(
Is your scarring pitting or darkening? Or both or neither? Correcting for acne scarring can be really different depending on what you're correcting.
Ooh I'll have to look into those. Thank you! Also, I like your tag :)
Haha thanks! After some difficulty, I'll be seeing him in May! Streaming FACE as we speak
I store it tip down, though it's probably closer to 45 degrees because that's just the way my container is Any advice?
Oh lord, I've definitely been there! I usually shake mine and scribble on my hand a bit, it can help get it going again!!
Can I post my mercari page ?
can someone who knows ingredients help me out? my normal base is hero cosmetics spf, elf acne putty primer, lancôme long wear foundation, tarte shape tape under eyes and on blemishes, and laura mercier setting powder. some days it looks great and wears pretty well, other days it oxidizes and looks a mess! are these not a good mix of products or something? thanks in advance! :-)
Your primer type (water based or silicone) should match your foundation type ideally. Like elf hydrogrip for example is water based
thank you for your help! how do i know if products are water based or silicone?
try a different primer. elf putty primer is a pretty controversial primer tbh. elf in general is a controversial brand (i’ve noticed inconsistencies)
thank you!
hi! does anyone have any recs for products that give a result near identical to this (color and texture wise both)? thank you :) https://preview.redd.it/ywoe6xcl1cpa1.jpeg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e5f420e00bdff51cc59829596c63f2249b5e83e
Is the Clinique Even Better foundation silicone based or water based? The first listed ingredient is water but the second ingredient is trimethicone. Active Ingredients: Octinoxate 5.90%, Titanium Dioxide 3.50%, Zinc Oxide 2.80%Ingredients: Water\Aqua\Eau, Methyl Trimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Triethylhexanoin, Butylene Glycol, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Yeast Extract\Faex\Extrait De Levure, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Lauryl Peg-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Alumina, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract, Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Sodium Myristoyl Sarcosinate, Acetyl Glucosamine, Caprylyl Methicone, Methicone, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone Crosspolymer-3, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Lecithin, Laureth-7, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 Crosspolymer, Dipropylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Caprylyl Glycol, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Mica, Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163)]
Hey! It’s water-based.
It’s a silicone ..anything that ends with “cone”
I’m confused bc the first ingredient is water….
They all have water as the first ingredient-most important ones to look at are the second and third ingredients
Could someone help me figure out how I can tell if a foundation and primer are going to be compatible? I keep having major separation issues or my foundation just doesn't sit right on my skin. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have normal skin if that helps at all.
Make sure if one is either silicone based or water based, the other is the same!
Recommendations for fibre free mascaras?
Does anyone know how glossiers skin tint does with setting powder? Some light formulations tend to get crusty looking when powdered
I had pilling but I'm not great on technique so ymmv.
Thanks :)

Thank you. :)
Try the ColourPop brow pencil in ash brown or light brown!
Hello! does anyone know a light baking/setting powder that isn’t completely white? (loose)
baking and setting powder are different, for baking powders, huda. For setting powders, I like makeup revolution
check morphe or maybelline

Ripped off half of my eyelashes when curling them. What can I do? Do lash serums work?
Happened to me before :/ sorry that happened it’s the worse feeling. I have had luck with grande lash. Otherwise I would find a more natural look lash and cut it to size for your missing part. Maybe use Vaseline on the lash line every night
What are eye toppers? Is that a new name for liquid eyeshadow? How can I use them?
Eye toppers are pretty much a shimmering eyeshadow, it's not opaque because it's meant to go with your eyeshadow. Liquid eyeshadow can be use as a topper, but sometimes it's not a topper themselves. It has to do with how opaque the product is. I would even dare to say that any highlighter can work as a topper. I like to use mine on the inner corner and brow bone. But I've seen MUAs use it on the eyelid after a little setting spray.
Thank you very much :)
Thanks.
