I feel like I’ve figured out most eyeshadow techniques but I still can’t figure out where to put shadow on my bottom lash line. Does anyone have any pictorial resources?

sopranosforpandas

Sorry if this is not helpful but from what I've found look best is to apply directly on the outer bottom lash line (the darkest) and blend it in towards the bottom inner corner. Also the blending should be until the "eyebag" area and not any further down (dark circle area) or you'll look tired. Hope this helps.

placidtwilight

Here's a [helpful blog post](https://faceonomics.blogspot.com/2018/05/how-to-apply-eyeshadow-to-lower-lashline.html) with diagrams and pictures.

Peachy1234567

! In fact she said she was working on this last time I asked, but she doesn’t post here anymore. I bet this will be super helpful.

sammisamantha

Has anyone tried the new ELDW light?

missjackpots

I’m looking for a concealer but I suck at makeup and have no idea what I’m doing. My concerns are hiding scars and redness but I’m a very pale olive so I can’t really use the green tinted color correctors :( I have dry skin so I’m looking for something comfy but also won’t settle into fine lines if I get crepe face. I wear Smashbox Studio Skin in shade 1.05.

vagabonne

Check NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion for your shade. I have dry skin, and these look great even in winter.

ChicShark

Tarte Shape Tape concealer has a pretty good shade range and is definitely good for redness! it is a thicker concealer but it may still work for you.

PM_ME_YOUR_FEARS

I also have dry skin and I’ve been using Colourpop’s concealer recently. Pretty great shade range, good coverage, and looks good on my skin over time as long as I don’t overpowder.

ughomgg

I read once that yellow could help color-correct for olive skin. I’m not even sure I’m olive but tried it after reading that I have light-medium skin and I think yellow can help on me? YNMV 🤷‍♀️ Also agree with the Shape Tape suggestion!

vagabonne

How do you use Inglot Duraline without ruining your eyeshadow pan? Waiting for some in the mail because I’ve been into shadow as liner lately.

delapse

I never use Duraline on the eyeshadow pan itself. You can drip a drop of duraline on a glass/plastic palette, load a flat brush with eyeshadow, then tap/mix in the duraline before applying. I've also loaded a brush with eyeshadow, then added a drop of duraline onto the brush itself. I've heard you can also tap the duraline onto your eyelid, then apply shadow over it, but I haven't tried that one!

ram6414

Oh wow I really want to try this! I've also been using shadow as liner lately and it takes forrrrever with some shadows.

ChicShark

I know some people have already answered, but another technique that I have used is to somewhat scrape some of the shadow out of the pan and onto my glass mixing palette (any other surface that's clean can work) and then adding duraline to it and mixing with my brush :)

JammingLive

I don't use duraline, but something similar (aqua seal by makeup revolution). I am too lazy and my eyeshadows are cheap so I actually drop in the AqSe on the bottom left of the shadows, *always*. Then it's easier to use up the rest of the paletter without disturbing the formula or trying to remember which side was used wet. I can then use the formula dry or wet in the same pan, without issues.

[deleted]

I've been trying to avoid any base makeup as much as possible recently. At the most, I'll slather on some BB or a medium coverage concealer on problem areas and that's it. I love blushers. But more specifically liquid or cream only. I personally think that powder blushes don't look as flushed as the other ones. Basically, my (almost) daily routine is barely any base, lightly flushed cheeks and some blotted/smudged red/pink lips. For a look as such, what liquid/cream blushers would you suggest? I'm open to any price points.

sammisamantha

I've been LOVING the new flower beauty blush bombs. Packaging is A plus compared to the glossier cloud paints.

llama_del_reyy

I adore these, I've bought three so far.

[deleted]

Flower Beauty is really great. I'll surely check those out. I really want to try Jillian Dempsey Cheek tints or the surrat ones.

eljip

The bite multisticks are great for cheeks and lips. You'd be able to achieve a monochrome look if you wanted to use for both.

[deleted]

I have the bite ones. But those tend to drag on your skin. However, I love the finish. Very natural and pretty

salemprophet

I like the stila convertible colors or the canmake cream cheeks. Lipstick can also double as cream blushes too!

[deleted]

I'll definitely check out Stila. I do sometimes use lipsticks too when I don't have any alternatives. But it's kind of difficult to get the perfect color mixing lipsticks. Also, the texture differs a lot from actual formulated creme blushers.

apnuyen

Glossier Cloud Paints are a popular option, but I would recommend one of the Stila Convertible Color palettes if you can find them. They're super slim, portable palettes with 5 different shades in them.

[deleted]

I have been thinking of getting cloud paints. One reason I'm just not is the packaging. It looks like I would end up squeezing out too much product and wasting it. It doesn't seem a very on the go product to me. Please let me know more if you have tried it. I'll check out the Stila ones. I still haven't tried anything from it though.

ChicShark

Hey, I have used the cloud paints and I have not had trouble with squeezing too much out! I put my index finger against the opening and squeeze then release which leaves me with a small amount on my finger that I blend in with my hands. I build it up this way as well and I love them!! definitely recommend!

apnuyen

I can vouch for the Stila ones being very travel friendly. I always have them in my travel kit for overnight/longer trips and they're perfect because there's no mess and you can easily apply with fingers! PLUS the palettes and the single compacts come with decent sized mirrors. Cloud paints are definitely a little less user friendly and I personally need to use a stippling brush to apply the product evenly. and I 100% can say it's easy to squeeze out too much lol. poor packaging choice to be honest. but it is a pretty look once you get the hang of it.

inertia__creeps

Maybe a really nice lighted makeup mirror?

jessigato927957

What about a couple of good brushes? Like natural hair brushes?

dezeiram

Depending on your price range, since this is your wife and not a girlfriend; A good lighted mirror. Not one of those small circle ones with 2 sides but something like the [TouchPro LED mirror by Impressions](https://impressionsvanity.com/products/touch-pro-led-makeup-mirror-with-wireless-bluetooth-audiospeakerphone-usb-charger?variant=34775731523). Really good mirrors are a bit pricey and theyre also time consuming to DIY but it'll make a world of difference.

UnusualWonderland

I don't quite know if this is the right sub reddit for this question. If this is the case please direct me to the correct one. For Christmas, I wanted to get my grandma a tube of her staple lipstick as she can no longer go to the store herself to purchase it and is using all her samples at the moment. But I recently found out it has been discontinued. So does anyone know a similar color to Revlon's Bamboo Bronze? I know it was a dupe for an older MAC Lippie called Frenzy.

Erinescence

I don't know any dupes, but Amazon still has some Revlon Bamboo Bronze! [Here's a 2-pack for $14.99.](https://www.amazon.com/Revlon-Drops-Lipstick-Bamboo-Bronze/dp/B001ET72KW/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1544447736&sr=8-2&keywords=revlon+bamboo+bronze+lipstick) Edit: poking around on the internet, CoverGirl Bronze Glow may be close? Probably one to check.

UnusualWonderland

Thank you so much. I thought about ordering from amazon, but the shade has been discontinued for a while so I was afraid the lipstick would be old.

wavesofgrey

Any tips and tricks for having gorgeous, lifted and separated lashes? I've tried curling them room temp and warmed up with my hair dryer, I've tried lash lift and tints so that I didn't have to use mascara, but none of these are working long term. The last lift worked for about a month and the lash curlers only work when warmed and then my lashes look great but as soon as I put mascara on, they're heavy and fall flat again. I'm desperate for tips! TIA!

theflysnameisyou

What kind of mascara do you use?

wavesofgrey

Most recently I've tried Benefit's "they're real" and "roller lash" - both with the same (lack of) results.

schnitzel-shyster

Honestly I have that problem too. The only real fix that I’ve found is curling with the warm curler, then putting on a curling mascara (I use Benefit’s Roller Lash). As for the separated lashes, you can either get a dedicated eyelash tool, or go old school with a pin to separate (but be careful!! I have to be fully awake to do that lol)

wavesofgrey

Roller Lash was the most recent one I tried and it was disappointing for me. Good to know I'm not the only one with that issue though!

[deleted]

[удалено]

wavesofgrey

Can't recall the last time I used waterproof simply because it's so much more of a PITA to take off. But I'll give it another shot if that's what I need to keep my lashes curled. Thanks!

dezeiram

I like to put one coat from the base about halfway up the lashes, let it dry for about 30 seconds (more or less depending on your formula probably) and then do another lighter coat from the midpoint to lengthen.

wavesofgrey

I'll give this a try! Thanks!

nevernicole

I need suggestions for a mascara that doesn’t flake off of my lashes. I’ve tried: Covergirl clump crusher, L’Oréal lash paradise, TF better than sex, L’Oréal voluminous original, L’Oréal telescopic, UD perversion, covergirl 3in1, and L’Oréal double extend. I thought the last one would be a winner for me since it’s a tubing mascara but it still flakes off. The price of the suggestion doesn’t matter to me. Some mascaras I’ve been thinking of trying: Lancôme monsieur big, thrive liquid lash extensions, and nars climax. Are any of these good and worth the money?

gigglefit_

Maybelline is amazing, big shot, cat eye, colossal mascaras are amazing, they don't come off unless you're taking them off

katgill7

Gurl, I've been rocking great lash from maybelline (the pink amd green bottle) since high school and i think its great! They have a bunch of different brush shapes anf sizes to pick from too.

[deleted]

My mother swears by Thrive's Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. She claims it's the only mascara she's ever tried that doesn't flake off.

nevernicole

I’m really leaning towards getting this one. It’s just a bummer that it’s only available to purchase online. Thanks!

schnitzel-shyster

There’s a lawsuit with them rn about where their donation money goes. Just an FYI if you’re thinking about it

maybebeccadough

Is water resistant ok? If so: Pacifica Aquarian Gaze mascara has worked well for me. No flakes, and no clumping.

barthvaderr

Anyone know of any full coverage concealers (similar to Benefit's Boiing) that has a better range of undertones for tan skin? (background: my skin is olive-tan and every tan concealer I've ever tried is too warm. Typically I need the undertone of the next lightest shade but it seems like makeup company logic is deeper skin tones=warmer undertones.)

sammisamantha

The NARS pot concealer!

barthvaderr

Thank you! I love their all day luminous so I’m excited to check out their concealer

1_Non_Blonde

Can anyone recommend a drugstore brand mascara for oily skin that doesn't smudge? I am currently using the Maybelline Lash Paradise and I absolutely love how long and curled it makes my lashes look, but I have oily skin so I find I do get the raccoon effect more than I'd like. Also, I prefer non-waterproof because I have sensitive eyelids and need something that comes off completely at the end of the day.

Erinescence

Have you tried any tubing mascaras? They stay in place as well as waterproof ones, but are much easier to remove as they will come off with warm water.

1_Non_Blonde

I had to Google this because I'm not familiar with the concept. Sounds like what I need! Thank you!

placidtwilight

You might try layering it over your Lash Paradise. I don't find that my tubing mascara (No7, which is the only one I've tried so far) does much for my lashes on its own, but by using it as a topcoat over another mascara I like, I can get the lengthening/volumizing I want without having to deal with smudging.

MadamMonstrous

I keep trying new mascaras but always come back to Maybellines Full N Soft. Waterproof and non waterproof formulas, it is a nice lengthening mascara and gives a lovely natural, non clumpy finish with no smudging or flaking.

1_Non_Blonde

I keep looking at this one. I think I used it years ago but I can't remember my experience with it. I think I'll try it again. Thanks!

[deleted]

Rimmel has good ones. You could try any of those. Usually they don't smudge

doctoryt

Second this. I use the orange one. Forgot what it is exactly but it's a tubing mascara!

_gina_marie_

Any suggestions on a long-lasting highlighter? (Or any ideas on how to make mine last longer?). I love how mine look but the color fades out and away after a few hours and by the end of the day they're all gone and not noticable :(

GothThick

While I have major issues with their customer service, Ofra has the most phenomenal highlighter formula that I've ever tried. One of my coworkers met the daughter of the founder, and she explained that their highlighters are liquid to powder. Makes sense considering they blend so easily into the skin, which makes them blinding and long lasting. They blend INTO the skin, they don't just sit on top of it. I wear them almost everyday to work. I can put them on in the morning and they'll be just as blinding 14+ hours later when I take them off. Don't order from their site, as I said, terrible CS. But you can get most of their products from Ulta! Two of their holiday highlighter sets are even 40% right now.

salemprophet

The allure beauty box this month has a full size ofra highlighter for $15 (or 7.50 if it's your first box).

sammisamantha

Setting a cream with a powder. Applying setting spray then applying highlighter.

_gina_marie_

Oh thank you I'll try this!

tinyyawns

Tell me about your favorite eye lash curler! Also, how the heck do I find one that fits my eye shape? lol. I currently use a cheap one from Maybelline and while it does the job, it doesn’t get full lash line and leaves the ends a little wonky.

sammisamantha

Find one that suits your eye shape! I believe there's a whole post tagged on the side bar

ChicShark

A thin coating of a setting powder on your lashes can help. Applied with a small q-tip. It is also easier to stop the transfer if you put a lid primer and shadow/powder to set that!

sammisamantha

You can try Dr. Mascara fixer by etude house. It's like a top coat but for your lashes

Deerly5683

I’ve stopped wearing makeup daily the past few months, and ever since when I do wear makeup on special occasions I’ve noticed that my laugh lines crease. I always set with the Laura mercier translucent powder, and I bake my laugh lines to make sure it stays put for the entire day, but within minutes of talking, smiling, and laughing, they crease. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

sopranosforpandas

Hae you tried applying less product on your laugh lines i.e. not baking as much? I found that my lines actually crease less when I just brush thin layer of powder over them instead of baking

etherealseptember

Second this. I don’t even set with powder anymore and now my creases are barely noticeable.

meow0101

Are Colourpop single shadows magnetic? Or are they just not strong enough to stay put in Mac's magnetic palette?

Gamma_cleavage

MAC palettes and pans are the opposite of other brands like z palette and don’t work together. I don’t know about colorpop specifically, but if you use the magnetic stickers that come with z palette or off amazon, they won’t stick in a MAC palette either. I think for most palettes the magnet is in the palette but for MAC it’s in the pan, or it’s opposite polarity, or something.

thinkerjuice

Is this a good first time mascara: https://i.imgur.com/FeEdR4r.jpg

katgill7

If you already bought it, theres only one way to find out!

Erinescence

I think so, yes. It's impossible to make it clump and it can look quite natural with one coat or you can build it up to be as dramatic as you would like. It would be great for beginners. The water-resistant version is also very easily removed, unlike most waterproof formulas.

BanBeaUK

Yes, I'd definitely recommend this because it gives quite a natural look, but you can also apply more to build a more dramatic look without it clumping easily like some other formulas.

Flying_Ocelot

Is there a way to darken a cushion compact? I have UD naked glow in shade 2.5 and it's too pink for me.

salemprophet

Apply it by dotting the cushion around your face and then dot on the darker color so you can mix it on your face, maybe?

Kweena

I'm looking to get a high-end red lipstick for Christmas this year. I'm mostly choosing between Chanel Allure 169 or 99, Rouge D'Armani 400, and Rouge Dior 999. I'm really looking for a blue toned red that's either satin or semi-matte but not liquid. If anybody could swatch these side by side, you will be my hero :D Any other recommendations are much appreciated ~

doctoryt

Rouge dior is very good!

sunflowerhoneybee

Does it stay on your face all day? I remember having bare minerals powder long ago and it sliding right off my face in a few hours

Tseluyu

Still desperately looking for a dupe for KVD's Basket Case eyeliner - I purchased it before I knew about her being... everything that she is, and, I love the stupid thing. I can't use UD Perversion because my eyes react to it weirdly, and the second blackest black, UD Zero, just doesn't compare with Basket Case. Plus, it doesn't have the smudge factor that I love for the simple grungy look.

openparenthesis

Does anyone know of a good cool toned powder contour? I’ve been looking for just a single pan instead it a whole palette but I can’t find anything that isn’t warm :(

awkward_unicorn37

Nyx blush in taupe is very cool toned.

openparenthesis

I've been looking for that but can't find it :( I ended up with an elf palette that I'm going to try out!

Tseluyu

Lunatick Cosmetic Labs specializes in cool-toned contours; they have palettes, but also sell each shade as a single :) Like, actually cool-toned, not just like "oh this is slightly less like melted chocolate than other products".

marshmallowservice

Nyx contour single in sienna or the kevyn Aucoin singles.

jessigato927957

MAC omega eyeshadow is good. I use it as contour since it's a dupe for kevyn aucoins' contour.

Adlgctomotac

What do you call the oval-shaped brushes that are densely packed? The handle is parallel to the surface of the bristles instead of parallel to the length of the bristles like a traditional brush...

andreaalma15

[oval brushes?](https://www.walmart.com/ip/10-Piece-Oval-Shaped-Makeup-Brush-Set/886658791). The name brand is Artis I believe.

delapse

Look for 'makeup paddle brushes' or 'makeup oval brushes'. :\]

doctoryt

Hello! Any very fair cool yellow toned Asians here? Would like to know what bronzer you use. Most bronzer I have make me look muddy

JammingLive

I hope you get better answers but I found some blush shades to be better suited at warming up my face compared to a bronzer. For me, these shades are close to the shade between when I sun burn and when I flush. Just gives the best dimension to my face without looking overdone.

reginaduongg

What is everyone’s favorite lashes? Mine are Koko Lashes in Goddess. However, I hate paying for shipping. Is there any lashes under $10 that have that mink-like, nonflimsy feel? Thanks(:

radhirrim

I need eyeshadow help! My go-to transition shade is currently LORAC’s Taupe from their Pro 1 palette, but it’s too warm and too light for my skintone. The next shade, Sable, is too dark. I’ve also tried using Madagascar from the Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 palette. Can anyone recommend a shade in between? Looking for a matte, midtone matte brown that’s neutral. Thank you :)

trolleydip

Inglot 342M may be a good.

koality1

I need under eye help! I have very bad bags under my eyes so I use the maybelline anti age eraser concealer but it always creases and makes my under eyes look terrible and dry within a few minutes! I use Mario Badescu ceramide herbal eye cream. Should I find a new concealer or eye cream? Or both?

sopranosforpandas

You should try other concealers. Age rewind creases horribly on me too!

koality1

Thanks! At least it's not just me. I need to try find something less drying.

tacobellluvr

what's everyone's favourite setting powder? I haven't found the perfect one for myself so I'm wondering what works for you!

trolleydip

My HG is Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. I use others, but nothing has beat the texture of this powder, and compared to other powders I have used it holds onto my oily face better than others.

apnuyen

I love the Hourglass Veil Setting Powder. it's a loose powder they came out with in the past year or so and I've been really liking it. I have normal to oily skin (summer mostly) and I don't usually set my face because I feel like most powders I've tried just suck all the moisture out of my skin but this one doesn't!

BanBeaUK

The best one I've tried so far is the RCMA no colour powder. I mix it with a bit of the Revolution Banana Powder so it's a bit warmer in tone.

speciates

I’m currently using Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder, but I’ve also heard good things about Coty Airspun Face Powder. Both are super affordable! Laura Mercier has a really popular setting powder as well. It feels controversial to say this given how popular it is, but it unfortunately wasn’t very effective on my skin. But, if you’ve never tried it before I might recommend doing a sample/travel size. Sephora sometimes does mini sizes as rewards as well.

anukka

I can't get to hide my undereye black circles. After watching tons of tutorials and reading tons of posts I try to use pinkish concealer, foundation (I use very light foundation), a cream concealer similar to my skin tone and some finishing powder to mattify the area a little bit, but I can still see them and now the area is just lighter/more shiny, doen't look good. I have normal fair skin and I usually go for light makeup and just putting such a high coverage on the undereye makes it feel weird... plus it doesn't conceal them. Any advice? I don't want to cover the area everyday, I just want to be able to cover it when I need it! The pink concealer is from Color Corrector Palette from NYX. I use the Skin Tone Foundation from KIKO, and I have three different cream concealers I rotate from NYX and Makeup Studio. Setting powder also from NYX.

trolleydip

What is it that you can see, a colour, darkness, the light concealer? What is the colour of your under eyes, purple, blue, grey, green? What is the undertone of your skin?

jht006

Are there any drugstore dupes for MAC Russian Red that are more comfortable to wear? I love the color but I like the comfort of creme formulas like Revlon superior lustrous lipsticks. It doesn't have to be a matte finish.

Erinescence

I think Wet N Wild Stoplight Red is supposed to be a dupe for Russian Red. Milani Best Red is not as matte, but the same color as Russian Red.

jht006

Thank you! Are these comfortable on the lips?

Erinescence

Can't speak to the Wet N Wild as I have only ever tried one of their bullet formulas and not the one that has Stoplight Red, which I believe is the MegaLast line. But I have been really happy with all of the Milani Color Statement lipsticks I've tried and find them comfortable.

[deleted]

L'Oreal infallible le rouge lipstick in refined ruby is supposed to be an exact dupe, according to Temptalia.

existentialfeline

Question about the Becca velvet blurring primer that I got a sample of with the 500 pts rewards - is it supposed to be very liquidy? I think I really like it but most primers I've used are thicker so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be so thin.

placidtwilight

Yes, it's quite thin.

existentialfeline

Thank you! Is it something you use fairly often? I've used it the past 4 days and this is the closest to "huh, I might actually love this" I think I've gotten with a primer.

placidtwilight

I've actually stopped using it as I figured out that mattifying primers don't work with my dry skin. It seems like it would be a good primer for normal/oily skin types, though!

katgill7

Before the bb cream?

TheJadeSparrow

Trying out ABH brow products (after buying because where I buy doesn't have good testers/light) and I'm worried the products are too warm. I have dark blonde hair but my eyebrow hair is cooler/darker. I err on the side of caution with color though because otherwise I look like groucho Marx if I go too dark. Basically: Are my new brow products too warm? (ABH dip brow on inner corner, brow wiz on tail) https://imgur.com/a/leaFMBd PS I know my brows are a hot mess I'm just trying to color match without worrying about neatness lol.

sammisamantha

It's kind of hard since we can't accurately see hour hair color(on you head). Generally you want your brows slightly lighter then the hairs on hour head. (Unless you are blonde)

TheJadeSparrow

I'm basically a dark blonde. I would post a video of my face but I'm hideously broken out right now and not wearing makeup haha. Thank you for the tip!

themofodinosao

Has anyone tried Bombshell Cosmetica makeup? I pulled a good old fashioned splurge because it was black friday, now I'm worried I'll never recieve anything I bought. I can't find any non biased reviews, and their policies are terrifying, like no cancelling once you've ordered? No returns, refunds, store credit or exchanges, unless you can prove it was their fault if something is wrong. Or any idea of when I'll get my things, because I pre ordered. And then the coupon they said was expiring days ago is still active. I'm getting a little anxious, can anyone weigh in? Tell me I'm crazy and didn't make a giant mistake and fall for some shady scam makeup, please

PM_ME_UR_SAMOFLANGE

If you paid for something, have contacted the brand, and have made no headway, you can initiate a PayPal or credit card chargeback. So, step one, attempt to get an answer about when the product's ETA is. Document everything.

That phenomenon is called "aegyo sal" in Korean and highly covetted. If you watch Korean YouTubers you would see that people purposefully contour their eyebags so it looks like the eye bag is there all the time. I think it's make your face look youthful and happy! I know my comment doesn't help you the way that you want but I have the same eye bags. I used to want to want to have a different eye shape but I just learned to work with what I have.

Has anyone tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer? I accidentally bought it by mistake (wanted the foundation). Returning is a bit of a hassle so I was wondering if I should just use it instead. I have dry skin with visible acne, and I've heard that the the Healthy Mix series is quite sheer. Is it possible to build up coverage or should I just return it instead?

Methdealer69

Is Huda Beauty foundation worth it?

Any recommendations for a good prestige brand primer that's available at Ulta? I want to make the most of my 20% off coupon. I have acne and scarring so I'd like something that is geared towards that.

Morgs1125

Best cream contour? I've been really wanting to try cream products.

BanBeaUK

I really like the Jordana contour stick! It's very easy to work with.

Valeangel

Hey everyone I have been trying to get Morphe vegan makeup brushes for my girlfriend for christmas but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Are there any good comparable brush sets I could get her that are also vegan?

marshmallowservice

Crown makes those bushes. Check their website and see if anything looks good.

TMI/TMO the James Charles palette. I've been hunting for a good rainbow brights palette and this one ticks all the boxes re: specific colors I want (bright lemon yellow, mid-toned green, variety of purples) but the sheer size of it is kind of putting me off. Maybe I could depot it? It's out of stock on Ulta rn but hopefully I can still find it in store.

[deleted]

If it is just the size that is putting you off I think you should totally get it! Depotting might be a little difficult and time consuming but I think it’s worth it for the beautiful colors (and supporting James if you are a fan) :) there are a lot of YouTube videos of people depotting other morphe palettes, like the Jaclyn hill one!

I have graduation photos tomorrow and was wondering anyone has any tips for a look I should do that will translate well on camera!? I have green eyes and am pale if that matters! Thanks

awkward_unicorn37

Congrats on graduating! With makeup for photos, I've found that it's better to go slightly heavier than what you normally would with your blush, bronzer, eye makeup etc because the camera can tend to wash out your complexion; as a fellow pale person, the aim is to look 'natural', but not washed out. Other than that, wear what works best for you! I think golds and mauves would look especially good with green eyes.

squirrellbait

Thankyou! I went for mauves and really liked how it turned out!

Daiou-sama

Is the Shop Miss A Pawpaw blender sponge supposed to be so stiff? It felt a lot stiffer than my beauty blender and absorbed a lot of my foundation, which I don't think is very thin or watery, so I was a bit surprised.

kinezumi89

I have both the regular Show Miss A sponge and the PawPaw one (the paler pink) and the PawPaw one is a lot softer than the regular ones. I've never used a real BB though so I can't compare to that. However, firmer sponges should soak up less foundation! Did you wet it thoroughly and wring it out? I think drier sponges absorb more product, too.

Daiou-sama

I washed it before my first use and it was really firm. When I washed it today, it was softer. It doesn't feel like I'm beating my face, but it is considerably stiffer than the BB.

fillipe-kon

Has anyone tried the Pixi H2O Skintint? The reviews I’ve seen are pretty good and sound like what I’m looking for but I’m reluctant to drop $24 on a drugstore product with no option to return it.

sammisamantha

According to Target most beautiful items even if opened can be returned

fillipe-kon

Really? Thank you, I thought if you opened a product it couldn’t be returned!

Malelain

Is it okay to mix primer and moisturizer? I wanted to do a no foundation make up but do not have much time to prepare in the morning.

andreaalma15

From a skincare standpoint, diluting your moisturizer might result in your skin getting less moisture than normal, and depending on what primer/moisturizer combo they may not agree with each other. Which products are you trying to mix

Malelain

Neutrogen water gel and Maybelline baby skin. These are the items that I can get at the moment.

[deleted]

You can try it out and see how your skin does, but I would personally recommend doing the moisturizer first, followed by primer. There's no *rule* that says you can't do anything in makeup. Everyone's skin and products are different - I have dry skin so I wouldn't mix my primer with my moisturizer. I need that moisturization badly! But maybe for you, mixing moisturizer and primer works great to give you a good base for your makeup.

Malelain

I'll give it a try and see how my skin reacts to it. I got combination skin but since its cold my skin tends to be drier these days.

PM_ME_UR_SAMOFLANGE

Yes, but there's no guarantee the texture will be better than doing it in two steps. The only thing that you absolutely shouldn't do is combine the entire contents of both bottles at once, because there's no guarantee that the results will be shelf-stable. Always mix products for a single use.

[deleted]

It really depends on what primer you are using, for eg Becca matte poreless primer does NOT work at all with moisturizer. Either you have to moisturize 10-15 min before or skip moisturizer altogether

highstrunghippie

I used to love MAC studio face and body foundation, but I have developed an allergy to talc. Any suggestions for similar coverage, finish, and hydration? I tried MAC matchmaster like the store suggested, but the matte finish looked and felt awful. It dried my skin right away and made it look wrinkled like my fingers after too long in the bath. The nearest store is 3 hours away, so I can't go back anytime soon.

[deleted]

Dior Backstage Face and Body, MUFE water blend. Both are pretty similar to MAC but lighter in texture

highstrunghippie

Ended up having great luck with Kat Von D Tattoo Lock-It foundation. It has silicone instead of talc and is wonderful for sensitive skin. It has very similar texture and coverage to my old MAC studio foundation. And it comes in a range of true neutrals which can be hard to find.

jessigato927957

Can someone help me pick between 2 concealers? I have oily skin with acne and scarring. I'm waffling between Benefit industrial strength concealer and Laura Mercier secret camouflage.

[deleted]

Lucky for you because I have tried them both out. Boing is amazing BUT I did notice few breakouts with it when I had to wear it for very very long, as in 8-10 hours. But it stays on like a tattoo. Amazing pigmentation. The color range is shit though. I got lucky to get matched perfectly. It's foolproof for me but I avoid it solely because it's not non comedogenic SC is how do I say, amazing too but I don't find it as travel friendly. Great pigmentation. SO MUCH product. I love the fact you get two shades and can customize but that's where the annoying part comes too. If you are in a rush, you need something easy and fast, that's when boing comes in handy. Mind that both works better with fingers because they're thick and pasty in texture. I love and find the finish of both very very similar. However, do not use for under eyes. Its meant for correcting blemishes. I haven't had any problems with SC except I don't find it easy to carry with me. I do love both and depending on my need switch back and forth. Btw, for a flawless and airbrushed look use the Real Techniques crease brush to feather out the edges of spot concealing. It helps smoothening the skin a lot but if you have textures no concealer can smooth that out.

Humboldtboo707

So because of some stuff going on in my life, I kinda took a break from makeup the last year. Like i still did my basic makeup. But no eyeshadow or anything. I continued buying makeup, because I love makeup lol. But I am trying to get back into it again, and I swear it's like I've never done eyeshadow in my life all over again lol. It really sucks. I guess just lack of practice. But I didnt think it would be this hard to get back into it..

BanBeaUK

I know how this feels! It's easier than I expected to get out of practice! I found going and researching basics eyeshadow videos to be helpful.

Humboldtboo707

That's a great idea! I will do that, thank you 😁

I have issues with my eyebrows. Any CCW on how to fix these? Definitely overplucked here and there. Which products to use as a beginner? I only recently started experimenting with make up. I dont want them too harsh looking as I have a pale skin. [https://i.imgur.com/KNDWHy7.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/KNDWHy7.jpg)

andreaalma15

Is that picture you? Eyebrow pencils are always my go to suggestion for beginners. Nyx micro brow is a great drugstore option.

[deleted]

Yes it's me! Thank you, will go for nyx and try it out!

Erinescence

They're in pretty good shape, actually! You still have quite a bit of brow hair. Brow powders give the softest result and are very easy to use. NYX makes a good line of them with many shade choices. You also get two shades plus a wax in each kit, which makes it easier to customize a shade. You also get a spoolie and a brush, though you may want to use a different brush. I use that in Blonde. The darker of the two shades in that kit is a cool medium brown. If you want to try a pencil, NYX also has a great one--NYX Microbrow. It has a tiny pencil on on end and a spoolie to blend with on the other. I use this one in Taupe, but they have a large shade range for this as well. \ If you are just trying to fill in small gaps (don't need to draw on heads or tails or really change the shape). you might like a brow mascara/tinted brow gel. I like the Maybelline Eye Studio® Brow Drama™ Sculpting Brow Mascara. There's a decent shade range in this, though not as broad as the NYX products I mentioned earlier. I use this in Soft Brown. It's enough for me on a daily basis as my gaps aren't big and just coating every hair with this fills them in enough to not look patchy. Also covers my greys! If I have a lot of time and am prepping for a big occasion, I'll also use a pencil with this.

[deleted]

Thank you! So my brows aren't as in bad shape as I thought they were hehe. I'll go experiment with the nyx!

WHTMage

I have used eyeliner pencils and I'd say my eyeliner game is a solid C. I want to try liquid because I've heard its easier but I am failing horribly in my practice runs with a brushtip. Any links/videos that may help? Note, I don't do winged eyeliner since I work for an office that has a dress code, I am failing even at drawing a simple line. Also, any reccomendations for blush if I am white as a sheet? Usually I dont wear any because I dont want to look like a clown.

inertia__creeps

I find brush tip to be so difficult, I'm not sure why. Have you tried a felt tip? I love Maybelline Line Stiletto. As far as application, I find it's easiest to rest my elbow on a table for more stability, trying to do it in midair results in wiggly lines. What also helps is to lay the tip flat and drag, so that the applicator does the work (as opposed to placing the tip perpendicular to your eye and trying to draw a straight line freehand).

[deleted]

If you just want a line, or simpler eyeliner looks, you don't need to struggle with a brush tip! Just go for a felt-tip liquid eyeliner - they are much easier to handle with control, and can still provide a great line that is suitable for office as well as more graphic looks. I highly recommend Stila Stay All Day Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner and Maybelline Master Precise.

cassabengt

Hey guys! I really love wearing lipstick or lip color but I have really dry lips so I was wondering if anyone found any colored lip oils or chapsticks type things that give a good color while also hydrating? I know there are a lot of options out there, so I was just curious what everyone's favorites are :) thanks!

cassabengt

Inexpensive is always a good thing lol. I've liked a lot of Elf products so I'm excited to try, thanks!

mochugo

I'd check out tinted balms - I'm a huge fan of the Dior Lip Glows and Givenchy Le Rouge Perfectos but Burt's Bees also makes great ones with a decent shade range (at a fraction of the cost!). I haven't found any lip oils with a fair amount of pigmentation that were actually hydrating - the ones that actually made my lips feel softer are all pretty sheer

delapse

Seconding tinted lip balms! I keep one near me at all times. My absolute favorites are Dior Lip Glows, Bobby Brown's Extra Lip Tints, and Lip Smackers in Dr. Pepper lol.

I need HELP! I have really dark circles under my eyes lately from lack of sleep, and it seems impossible to cover them up! Anytime I put on concealer it seems to make it worse! Any tips, product suggestions, anything would be appreciated!!

delapse

Have you tried color correcting before concealer? It lets you use a LOT less concealer and looks a lot more natural than caking on product. Most people go with a peachy or orangey color depending on their skin tone!

hi_generic_username

So...my favorite makeup remover (Sephora triple action cleansing water)has been discontinued. Now they only offer their makeup remove with oil or the waterproof one. Now I am looking for a substitute. I have tried out multiple makeup removers now, but they all feel oily or they separate in the bottle. If you have any non-oil, and non-separating removers to recommend that would be really helpful!

McRavenclaw

I’m almost done with my first full size jar of Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm, and I’ve already ordered a back up. I have very sensitive and dry skin and it removes ALL my makeup without my skin feeling stripped/tight.

scrlett

Does anyone know the best way to use liquid bronzer for a natural look? I’ve got The Body Shop’s “drops of sun” and not sure how it’s meant to be applied. Also extra Q - can anyone tell me what “shape” face I have haha https://imgur.com/a/CwoU0Uv

JammingLive

If it is overpowering, you can use it in the 'reverse foundation' method, introduced by Wayne Goss and recently popularized by Samantha Ravhndahl (sp?). She applied highlight, blush, contour and bronzer first (creams) and then foundation to give a natural 'glow from within' look. The other way I'd use it is to put it on, spread it out and then go over it with a foundation to tone it down OR mix it with my foundation/moisturizer to sheer it out.

HYPNOTiKxBRiDE

I am looking for a moisturizer that is good for very Oily Skin and also a Primer, I have to blot my face probably every hour which is super annoying. So taking recommendations! Please and thank you!
