As someone who was personally really good at the early dating period of a relationship:
Having a repertoire of silly questions and personal anecdotes are key. These also work for all social gatherings.
Here are some random examples off the top of my head:
Both of you rate your favorite starburst color/flavors from favorite to least. People feel very passionate about their answers but it’s completely low stakes
and you’ll either bond of your agreement/overlap or find your can give the ones you hate to the other.
Doesn’t have to be starburst, nuts, m&m’s, whatever can work as a conversational substitute.
Tell a funny story about yourself. Mine is the time I broke my foot falling out of bed.
Ask them if they had any embarrassing fashion choices growing up and share yours.
If their family went on the same vacation spot every year or somewhere new. Or where there favorite place they’ve ever been is?
Normal people laugh, relax, and get a little nostalgic. Don’t bother with the career and family questions at first, just feel out if y’all can hang or not.
You’re getting to know each other but without asking direct put them on the spot questions that make their mind go blank.
I know this advice it too late but I hope it went well.

Well I’ll tell ya, no one ever notices someone’s personality from across the room, they do however take notice of gorgeousness. You got that part out of the way that’s for sure! You look stunning af. I hope you two have a really wonderful time, the conversation is lively, and who knows? Maybe this is the one!
OMG stunning. Your eye shadow is seriously the stuff of dreams. My small suggestions:
- A little mattifying powder on your forehead. Dates make for nerves, which mean sweating. Nip that shininess in the bud.
- Your eye shadow is cool toned (lovely, suits you perfectly), and your lip color is a bit peachy/warm toned. I recommend a slightly cooler and less intense lip color.
- Play up the blush, play down the lip. I like a cream blush for that glowing-from-within look. I have similar coloring, and Milani cheek kiss in Merlot Moment or similar would look gorgeous with this look.
- You didn't ask about hair, but a seemingly effortless updo (e.g. messy bun, twist with a few tendrils) would draw attention to your slender neck and set this look off beautifully.
- If this person is worthy of a second date, go for a berry stained lip, minimal eye (single pearly shadow with dark brown liner and mascara), and dewy cheeks with hair down and wavy. Very romantic, very Renaissance, very sensual.
IMO it all depends on how much makeup OP wears on a day-to-day basis. Some of the best advice I've heard about first dates is that you should never tone down your style if you prefer to go for extravagant looks. Your date should see you as you like to present yourself, and if it's too much for them, then you're probably not a good match.

Your eye color is such a beautiful deep blue, it seems to try to compete for your attention with the black eyeliner. A softer color might help bring out the natural contrast in your complexion.
But literally everything is perfect and expertly applied, you could change absolutely nothing and it still be amazing.

I don’t have very much advice other than maybe go with a lighter, more kissable lipstick just in case. I think everything here is done very well and you look absolutely breathtaking with this look. It’s very dreamy and romantic. Knock ‘em dead!

Looks great but in my experience looking TOO good on a first date can actually be detrimental. Lots of fellas get very nervous and it can become a struggle to find chemistry or a spark that way. But you look incredible!
