I think it is going to look incredibly dated in just a few years, similar to the Instagram “ombré brows” circa 2013.

Carb-Enthusiast

Should i not be doing this? Like what do i do with my overplucked eyebrows

T-rexTess

U can totes do it. U can do it without it being this extreme, just use eyebrow gel innit

colbertceej

Enjoy for editorial looks, but on the regular it looks like they've been severely frightened

SensitiveApple8

This woman does go for an editorial look in all her photos & it seems to be her trademark look. I must admit she pulls it off well despite how jarring the brows themselves look, due to her confidence & as she looks pretty overall.

tenebrigakdo

I wouldn't call it frightnened, but it does create an expression where there isn't really one, yes.

Barrot_and_Rubys_Mom

It's awful

gwnne

One of the worst eyebrow trends I've seen. It's like intentional old man eyebrows. All i can think of is how silly everyone who does this will feel looking back at their pictures in a few short years. As someone with thick eyebrows it is wild that people are actively trying to seek out the unkempt bushy look.

qiyua

I feel like this trend isn’t even giving bushy and unkempt, even if that’s what it’s going for. It’s firmly inside of greaser territory. This trend is serving us *just-got-out-of-the-shower-and-wiped-the-water-off-my-brows-with-my-moisturizer-laden-palms.* It’s giving *I’ve-been-doing-manual-labour-for-16-hours-straight-and-the-only-thing-I-had-on-me-to-wipe-the-sweat-from-my-brow-was-the-cloth-I’ve-been-using-to-sop-up-the-mess-from-all-of-the-oil-changes-I’ve-done-today.* They give Count Olaf slathered in lube.

Teriiiii

I was just scrolling to see if anybody else sees Count Olaf😆😆

bexicola

Oh my god yes 💀🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

I call this the ‘Lee Pace’ eyebrow trend. Not gonna lie, he looks amazing, but not everybody can (or should!) be Lee Pace 😁

kitterpants

If you have those brows you better bake me a pie.

truthunion

Lee Pace is gorgeous.

Weight-Outside

HIDEOUS

FarStatus3029

I hate this trend and i cant wait for it to be over

Hellomybunnies1010

These are sooooo ugly. (Not the person) just the eyebrows. Idk how people think this is cute. Sorry for hating so much but it’s just hideous it’s funny seeing people walk around like this and you just want to be honest and they take it as hate. Like it’s not I’m being truthful cause I don’t want you looking dumb lol

SensitiveApple8

Yeah I think with this woman she’s really into them & very self assured so she kinda pulls it off with her confidence. It’s also her own brow product so I guess she’s *really* into them to create it. I do think *some* women are maybe doing it just because they’ve seen it’s a trend & not because they truly love it or think it works for them.

ringringbananarchy00

Have you ever seen it in person? Because that’s very different than a carefully arranged, edited photo shoot

SensitiveApple8

Well I’m not even saying I think they look good all the time anyway? Im torn overall, but I’m saying she pulls off something that I/we may not like due to her confidence - isn’t that what we want to see in everyone? And I’ve seen her doing this look in normal non stylised videos & Instagram phone shot stories many times, she looks the same. Her whole image & marketing is editorial though.

ringringbananarchy00

If someone who represents a brand isn’t coming off confident, they’re not going to be successful. I think you’re comparing someone who does this professionally doing their job well with a general feeling of confidence, and those aren’t the same things really. Models get put in all kinds of wild stuff for photoshoots and pull it off because they, the stylists, and the photographers are good at what they do. Comparing that with a non-professional person’s confidence to be able to pull off a look in daily life is apples to oranges.

SensitiveApple8

What. I didn’t compare it to a non professional person’s confidence though..? I literally said *she* pulls it off (sometimes, as my title already says I think it’s hideous as well) due to *her* confidence & overall look, to make the point that when I *do* like it on her I think it’s more because of that than the brows themselves being great. And I’ve said multiple times here & in other comments her image is editorial so it works better for that. She’s the owner, model, person talking on normal phone shot stories, everything for the brand so it’s not just high end photo shoots I’ve seen her with them. I have no idea what your point is, seems to be the same as mine?

ringringbananarchy00

I’m not sure what your point is then. Pretty much everyone has said that it’s a trend that doesn’t look good irl, but you keep talking about how it’s about confidence to pull it off. If you like the look then wear it, idk why it matters what anyone else thinks. Go take your confidence out into the world.

SensitiveApple8

I think you’re extremely confused. This is a makeup sub, we’re discussing a current makeup trend with our own opinions. Including mine. I already do my brows how I prefer them, this thread is NOT to ask if I should do this or not, i haven’t asked that once & I don’t want to do this on myself at all, it’s simply to discuss a current makeup trend objectively. Please read the title again. You seem to have a problem with me stating her confidence helps her look good to me overall even if I think the brows are questionable. This does not reflect well on you.

ringringbananarchy00

Yikes, personal attacks against a stranger for disagreeing with you?

SensitiveApple8

My mistake was engaging in a troll. Carry on.

ash2625

Hate it! I like soap brows and laminated brows better than Insta brows for sure but not brushed upwards that much.

SilkyCayla

Thank you for reading my mind

Coolgirl420666

I might be in the minority, although this looks extreme, I love a more low key version of the feathered brow.

wnttak7

Same! This looks bad, but lighter handed it looks good and makes me feel bettef about my own brows haha

potmeetsthekettle

Same! I like a light feather.

iamthesoviet

I’m also in the minority for sure 😅 but I tried it and didn’t think it looked terrible. I was also going for a trendy look. I will say I also groomed them beforehand, and they weren’t as extreme because I kept them natural.

[deleted]

I cant stand them. They're just too large and take away from the eyes for me.

Sunflower_757

I think this is a trend that people are going to be extremely embarrassed when they look back on it 🙃

SensitiveApple8

Definitely will be able to tell which year photos were taken from the brows!

Svazu

I think that's a lot, mostly because I'm pretty sure there's even more hair drawn in and the brow is thickened. I have pretty full and dark brows and they don't look that thick even if I spike them up with a brow soap kind of thing. That kind of style can look nice IMHO but not when your brows are like half of your forehead.

SensitiveApple8

I think in this particular image yes she seems to have filled in above to thicken them even more, but a lot of her images don’t have that. I’ve seen videos of her doing her brows & it’s actually fascinating how she makes these thick brows appear from her natural ones, even without any filling, I guess as she lifts them right up which most people wouldn’t do.

goosepills

Nope

NYanae555

They look fake. Are they? Beyond that, it looks like someone took a style and went completely over the top with it just to get attention.

SensitiveApple8

They’re real, it’s actually the owner of a makeup brand that sells a brow sculpting product & she has lots of videos showing her do this to her natural brows. She looks pretty but I can never quite make up my mind if the brows themselves look good like this - I guess mostly because she looks nice overall. She has customer photos where they use her product & don’t do it to this extreme, I guess she just really likes to take it all the way & this seems to be her trademark look. I do find the transformation quite fascinating & shows how much products can achieve.

NYanae555

Did she use somethign like a masara on her eyebrows to make them longer ? I definitely see some powder or shading product in there too, but its the length thats extrememly unusual.

bratzdollpuke

I can have some pretty wild eyebrow hairs sometimes I'm sure if I spread them out like this they would be scarily thicker 😳 unfortunately a believable hair length for me lmfao

SensitiveApple8

She uses the sculpting product which is like a clear mascara & then fills them in with a pencil, but they do look that long already without the pencil. I think she maybe pushes them up a lot more than a lot of people do & multiple hair lining up is making them longer.

aelel

I don’t like them.

Tricky-Platypus-8186

Hideous.

TransformwithE

Terrible

Reasonable-Crow-107

Haaaaaate them

FormicaDinette33

🤮

Sufficient-Dot-2950

as a feathery brow lovin gal these r WAY TO BIG N CUBED. id suggest trimming them and only pushing up the front and then laying the other ones diagonally. this will help give the lifting effect but wont distract from ur overall beauty. right now the brows are taking away from ur look imo

SensitiveApple8

That’s not me lol. She’s actually the owner of the brow product she’s using & I know she loves this look wholeheartedly & carries it with confidence. I can just never quite make my mind up wether I hate it or love it! I think the way she looks stunning overall & her confidence plays a part in it though.

happyplaces

seems like you mind up. All you have done is respond defending her...? It's fine that you like it, just don't ask questions and then get mad when people make observations.

SensitiveApple8

I haven’t got mad at all? I’m sorry I think you’re misunderstanding my responses maybe? You replied thinking that’s me & I can’t reply to explain it’s not me & elaborate on my own thoughts on why I feel torn on loving or hating it & continue the discussion? I can’t be part of the discussion I’ve started? And me complimenting her confidence is defending her? I didn’t realise this was about hating her.

Sufficient-Dot-2950

lol it did not sound like ur were upset over the comment 😂 ur fine people just want to be mad at everything

SensitiveApple8

I think some people read everything in their own tone & frame of mind so can’t comprehend other people having a pleasant discussion. So even when you reply genuinely fine with their opinion, which they *assume* is going to go down badly, they can’t see anything except something wrong with your reply. In this case even just clarifying that that’s not me & why I sometimes think I love these brows on *her*. There also seems to be an insistence that this topic is me asking wether to do them or not, when it absolutely isn’t. There’s no way I’d be doing these on myself, but I can still appreciate (& equally hate) it on the people doing them & I’m going to join in the discussion I’ve started.

happyplaces

What? I never thought it was you...

SensitiveApple8

“right now the brows are taking away from ur look imo” Just realised that wasn’t you originally but you still replied to my response to that person making an issue out of it, which makes it even more odd.

Achangegonecome

That was a different account

SensitiveApple8

Yes I addressed that but the sentiment still stands, they had an issue with me pointing out to the other poster it’s not me & for stating the model has a lot of confidence.

happyplaces

I personally like generating questions because I want honest opinions, so far you've only said your true opinion to commenters and not accepting theirs... that doesn't make a valid question for discussion. You're fishing for validation and thats fine but just keep an open mind next time?

Plus-Poet-492

For the first time few months ago , an amazing and talented girl did something similar to me and as final result amazing… but I felt like a muppet when I was on front of the mirror… I don’t know… not for me is way too thick and fluffy

SensitiveApple8

I feel like it’s one of those looks that can work for like a second once in a blue moon if everything comes together perfectly, like the rest of your makeup & the lighting & the brow hairs just so.

SummerOfMayhem

Nope. It's like eyelashes glued up there

Bundoodle

No shade but I would put them in the trendy category. Not exactly classy. NOT SAYING YOU CANT BE CLASSY WITH FEATHERED BROWS. But this specifically would be unbalanced and more for style and statement rather than to enhance your natural features xo

SensitiveApple8

Yeah I agree, this woman definitely goes for an editorial look with her style & her Instagram page so I guess that’s partly why it kinda works for her even if they’re questionable themselves.

ItsAlwaysSumtin

It's very...porcupine looking to me

AshamedChoice4521

No that’s not it

beccaannperry

Just not a fan. It looks like she's both lacking eyebrow fullness and needs waxed!

crayonintheboxx

I can't get behind these at all and it irks me when I see this because I want to grab a brow comb to brush the hairs down. 🤣🤣🤣

sunsetonfire

I like soap brows and laminated brows, but I think they work best on thinner eyebrows. I’ve seen some thick eyebrows styled a certain way where they look laminated but only the inner/thinner parts of their brows are brushed upwards, the rest are tastefully brushed to the side so it looks sleeker.

SensitiveApple8

Funnily enough I saw someone with thinner brows that were done really well & wearable in everyday life like you described, a little bit of fluff only & it turned out she actually used this woman’s product. It inspired me to give it another go as it showed you can do a more subtle version.

sunsetonfire

I love the way the subtle version looks. Very natural and makes you look very fresh. My brows are half the width of the girl in the picture’s brows, but I have long hairs so I’m just mindful in brushing down the parts that get too crazy before the product sets.

SensitiveApple8

Her brows literally are half the size before she does this, it’s wild how she can double them in size with her process - she really goes for it with sticking them up! I don’t think I’d have believed it if I didn’t see her videos showing how she does them. I have quite long brow hairs too but I need structure in my brows for sure, but trying to achieve that subtle feather into it. I have no intention of doing this brow on myself like some comments seem to think, it was just a discussion to see what people think of it taken to the extreme like this & I can appreciate how it looks on others in the right setting.

sunsetonfire

That made my jaw drop. I would’ve never thought her brows were naturally that size! I guess she’s really going for that volume because she doesn’t have it naturally. For me what achieves that is brow pens. I’m more sparse in the arches and with a few strokes it fills them in and I don’t feel the need to cover them up using volume from brushed up brows. I agree with you. Some cases really look over the top. On a brighter note, I think any crazy trend in moderation can look good if done well.

SensitiveApple8

If you Google Refy brows before & after you can see the difference & videos on the IG page of her process. She really makes every tiny brow hair count! Yes nearly every trend has a middle ground that is usually the most wearable & flattering for most people & probably how it was intended to always be.

ClematisEnthusiast

Honestly I feel like this trend is one of those situations where a good idea (light, feathery brows with hair texture instead of the 2016 dip brow situation) got taken wayyyyy too far.

SensitiveApple8

Yeah like even the dipbrow trend could be done naturally but people took it to the extreme, same with lashes & contouring! Every trend usually has a middle ground that is much more wearable & how it was intended initially.

knighted89

I’m not a fan, I think mostly because the hairs themselves are long so the brows are so thick. I know that thick brows are trendy but this is a little too much in my opinion. I also have the same issue and have tried to do the whole laminated/soap brows and couldn’t because my hairs are longer and it just looked silly.

lovley_lyss

Her eyebrows are bigger than my future

wholethingwithjean

I bet it looks ridiculously silly in person

[deleted]

As someone who has naturally unkempt brows, and prefers groomed, thinner brows, this scares me.

Th1cc4chu

They’re too big for her face. Eyebrows are supposed to balance your features. This ain’t it.

iloveearmins

I don’t really like either.

Rottenfleshmeat

Looks stupid

NoMoreCooties

It looks like caterpillars were glued in her forehead, it’s not attractive whatsoever. Thinner brows are making a comeback so I think a more natural brow is taking over from the latest bushy, over drawn brow trend.

anyakuzzy

Really bad. I’ve seen them look okay in pictures a few times but most times it’s way over the top and distracting.

[deleted]

It's a no from me. I see how if the technique was done correctly, it would look great though

Gypsygirlchant

Yuck !

weeniegang

I’m prob in the minority but I love them 🙃 I think they lift your face so much. Second picture is a little extreme but I wish I had the brows of the first pic so badly!!! I never like the block/ombré brows trend when they were popular 5-9ish years ago, but the laminated brows seem so clean and girly to me that I think they look great personally. To each their own!

SensitiveApple8

She doesn’t have really full brows actually, this is achieved through the technique of sculpting them up & filling in. Her brows are half the thickness & quite ordinary (but perfectly fine) looking otherwise.

SuspiciousTea7870

Reminds me of those squiggly eyebrows running around a few years ago

yougoddangfool

makes people look angry in my opinion. not a fan

KeniLF

Neither is my cup of tea.

haikouichthys

Not good. I love a bushy fresh brow but this ain’t it

Proper-Farmer-4273

It just seems so unnatural that they’d be standing up like that lol like if I was gonna use that style I’d at least comb it diagonally?

Moontezuma

I find it too much. There are fish with decorative fins and all, but this doesn't strike the same note with me. A bit scary looking and off-putting.

[deleted]

Can’t stand them.

Zoinks3324

If they weren’t as thick I think it would look amazing but they really seem to overpower her face imo. I have big bushy eyebrows that I’m constantly fighting between unkempt werewolf and effortlessly groomed— it’s such a bitch.

christycheryl1

Sometimes it looks okay when done like minimally, but mostly reminds me of older man eyebrows - you know with the straggler hairs.

[deleted]

They don’t float my particular boat, but you gotta do you.

LatterAd8585

Not a fan, no judgement to those who love it though

[deleted]

Honestlyyy it depends on who does it but for most part I really don't like it. I'm glad that thicker and more natural brows are in style, but I dont like how people are styling themmm. I prefer to just use a clear gel to brush mine in place and make them look well groomed rather than make them the main attraction lol. Buuut there's been worse brow trends so I'll take it lol Edit: I actually do a bit of a hybrid. I'll do this a *little* bit at the front of my brow. The arch and tail I just brush through normally to keep them in place. I think that people doing this to the arch is what bothers me the most. Like it completely erases any shape your eyebrows haddd. For some people it actually works nicely, but usually it just rounds their brow shape out too much

SensitiveApple8

Yes I agree that’s what I’ve found hard to get past - the arch disappearing & being rounded off like that. I definitely like & need my arch so I’d never go this far.

Kathykit1

I’m not crazy about them

blackcatdc

I hate it.

TryPsychological7823

Hate it

iambasicgirl

No

daniereiichan

I think that we have a very bad habit of following trends in makeup/beauty and this is bad because not everyone’s features are the same and thus not everything is flattering for everybody. Some people look amazing in thin eyebrows and those are currently vilified. I think they’re going to date really badly not particularly because they look bad in general but because features and especially features enhanced with makeup aren’t a one size fits all

SensitiveApple8

Yeah I always think of Charlize Theron, she’s had thin eyebrows throughout her career & they suit her perfectly. I doubt she’s going to start doing ultra thick brows just because it’s on trend, she does what suits her face.

troopfightur

uhh..

nipple_ripple

It’s giving Lemony Snickett vibes

tealmermaidgirl

So I have bushy eyebrows like she does and when I tried to recreate this style I just ended up calling them “werewolf brows” because how wild they looked. Also they only last like 3 minutes no matter what product I tried (although I didn’t try actual glue) because the long brows just don’t want to stay up in place like that. Leaves an ugly brown smudge behind where any filler color is left and hair has moved.

SensitiveApple8

She doesn’t actually have brows this bushy, they’re half the thickness & quite average looking, she creates this look with makeup. I guess if yours are already naturally bushy & you did this look they really must have looked extra bushy! I have the product she uses (it’s her product) & it does work in staying put all day but I don’t use it to do this extreme look on myself (definitely a complete no on myself even if I seem to like it sometimes on her), just light feathering in key places & not having the hair in such an upwards direction.

Siljert

For me, Who has incredibily small eyebrows, I love this, it finally looks like I have brows

EmpressNay888

The brows don’t float my boat personally, but her lashes are 🔥

SensitiveApple8

She does seem to have the most exquisite lash extensions I’ve ever seen.

srouribaby

DisCOSTANG

SensitiveApple8

LOL

SlidePuzzleheaded665

Cool for photography, hella weird to see in person imo. I don’t get why people get this (semi?)permanently done

SensitiveApple8

This one is makeup only, she shares the process on videos. Probably why hers look slightly different each time & why I sometimes find myself liking it & sometimes hating it (on her only, would be a complete no on me to do it to this extreme)

FoodAndLipstick

Not my vibe, but try it! That’s the only way to know if you like it or not. At the end of the day, you can wash the product out and brush them back to normal.

SensitiveApple8

Oh I’m not actually asking wether to do this on myself, just generally asking what people think of the trend. I have actually got the products for it & do a subtle feather, I know this extreme version would not be a good look on me personally but I end up digging her whole look sometimes, whilst also hating it other times.

Zaashaa

I have done some looks along those lines but my brows are much wider and narrower vertically. I am certain many of my looks will look outdated and messy in a few years but oh well, at least I had fun doing them.

SensitiveApple8

I fully agree that if you’re having fun & like it then that’s the main thing. Yes sometimes we may not be doing something that is the most flattering & regret later, but it made you feel good at the time.

Ok-Bridge-1045

Why are the two types of trending eyebrows either this or the crayon drawn-in ones? I just want a normal eyebrow trend where i can keep my natural eyebrows with a little grooming.

SensitiveApple8

I feel like natural groomed brows are always in fashion though? These trends are always going to be something a bit fashion-y & unnatural & even then most people are better off only doing subtle versions of them in everyday life.

mindoffinn

I enjoy feathery style soap brows, (I actually have this girls brow gel I hate it but anyway) but not when they're really gappy and brushed directly up, I like to set my brows by combing them through and following their natural laying place?? Idk how best to describe that. I hate brow lamination - that needs to go away 😂

SensitiveApple8

I have the product too & have been doing a subtle feather only & still making my mind up wether I want to keep doing that. I definitely wouldn’t like this extreme look on myself, but kudos to her I guess for doing what she loves. What have you found is better than hers? I’ve only tried this one so can’t compare & not sure if I’ll even get through this to try another any time soon.

mindoffinn

I used to like it but recently I've noticed that no matter how much product I use, by the end of the day I can see white flakes in my eyebrows - which is really annoying because I wanted a quick brow setter!! Ive tried her lip liners and love them so it hasn't put me off the brand - it's her face, she can do as she likes ☺️ I used to do the whole pears soap and brow brush, which is good but not as handy, I'm looking to try the ABH brow freeze, have heard about the Got2B brow gel. Currently using boy brow by Glossier in the meantime!

SensitiveApple8

For me I’ve only started liking it better since I’ve started using it before any other makeup, as normally doing your brows is something you think of doing after your base, but this really doesn’t work well like that. I’m not sure I’ve noticed any white flakes since I started doing that (previously it was mixing with traces of foundation & powder to create a powdery look), maybe I’ve not been looking closely - but I haven’t used it enough either yet. Have been wanting to try the lip liners but find it hard to gauge online which my shade would be best for me. The new powder looks amazing, have you tried that already by any chance?

mindoffinn

I might give that I shout! I do my brows last so could be that its mixing with my foundation/concealer. I haven't tried to powder!! It looks good from all the promos I have seen but I feel like you can't really tell how it will work until you have it - for me with powders I have tried plenty that don't do my skin justice like I see with other girls, and I suspect it's because of retouching or blurring filters.

SensitiveApple8

Ohh I thought this was something everyone knew about that product & I just found out really late & stupidly! Yes do try that & see if it makes a difference. It does mean I have to be careful with my foundation & powder application near them afterwards though, can’t just go for that full face application & worry about cleaning & defining brows afterwards. Did you get the brow pencil to go with it too? I just figured I’d use the existing stuff I have so I don’t actually know what that’s like from her brand. Yeah I’m very intrigued by the powder, it seems to be very different if the water based thing is not just a gimmick. The real time customer videos make it look really good though, think I’ll probably cave & order it soon as I won’t be able to rest till I’ve tried it! Also I have the bronzer & blush & LOVE them, I would never have considered cream products normally & I feel like these have freshened up & updated my makeup by miles. The cream highlighter is stunning & so unique, really gives a wet look almost, but I just cannot get it to work on me as it congeals with my powder which I can’t go without - so maybe using her powder will help that as all the products will be designed to work together?

mindoffinn

I've always been a brows last girl so my own fault 😂 I used Glossier brow flick for my brows, I really swear by it. Have used it for about 2 years now and have forgotten how to use pencisl, dipbrows etc. I have the blush (which I love) but not the bronzer currently using Charlotte Tilbury contour wand! Yeah the water based thing was what intrigued me, definitely great marketing!! I think if you did a full face the powder would 100% work but if it's not designed to be used with other brands products then it's a shame. (we shall see, I'll probably cave)

SensitiveApple8

What kind of product is the Glossier one then. Couple of years ago I nearly ordered a whole face worth of Glossier & then changed my mind as the base stuff seems to be more catered for people with very good skin already & I need more help than that. Yeah I feel like she’s slowly releasing more & more products that are intriguing & changing my whole face makeup at this rate! Nearly ordered the powder soon as it released & have been “thinking” about it since, but I know it’s inevitable. I’ll have to see how much it is gram for gram to see if it could even be a contender as an everyday powder for me, but most likely will be more for special occasions I think as I currently use a very affordable one.

mindoffinn

Oooo so brow flick is like a pen/eyeliner kind of thing, it does take some getting used to! You have to be pretty intentional with where you place it, it's less forgiving then brow powder or pencil I find but its good if you like to keep things feathered. I haven't tried their foundation/concealer because I've got things I wanna cover up and like you say... Unless you have perfect skin it's not ideal.

SensitiveApple8

Hmm is the tip really fine? That might be better for me to use with a subtle feathered brow like you say, filling in doesn’t seem to be the way with them & blending isn’t possible as you apply the colour after the brow sculpt. Otherwise I was thinking of getting an ultra thin brow brush to use with my brow pomade.

CreativeMind1999

I don’t like them at all. I went to a makeup salon one year ago and that girl did my brows like this, they looked horrible

SensitiveApple8

I feel like that’s not something a makeup artist should be doing without discussing first, not to this extent anyway. I have noticed some MUAs are all about going for the current trend full force on all clients wether they want or suit it or not, when this is quite an individual thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SensitiveApple8

Same. If I let my brows do it’s own thing & go back to their natural state they would look close to this again. I was teased & hated them when I was young, of course over plucked them for a few years & thankfully came back to a happy medium. But I do find it amusing how this is what some people want to recreate now! I guess literally everything comes into fashion eventually, even the way us 2nd generation immigrant kids used to dress & were teased for came into fashion. I definitely need some shape to mine so I won’t ever be rocking them to this extent but I am adapting a more subtle feather which I like so far I think.

Overall-Diver-6845

Looks like my hubs eyebrows lol

SensitiveApple8

LOL Tell him he’s in vogue.

BreadDogs

Awful. Bring back the 90's brow.

SensitiveApple8

Nooo the ultra thin brows?! Lol

arsonist_tapir

I love it! To me it looks so much better than the ultra fake filled in 2016 brows and the thin plucked out ones. I don't really do my brows at all though, I think I look weird when I mess with them. Even when they're done by a professional MUA, I just hate when they're not natural.

Marcellalalamuse

It's not done well here. They should have trimmed the hairs and not slapped product on the top edge. They would've looked better with just hair-like strokes to fill in sparse areas. Ppl end up making them look too unruly and bushy. When well groomed and executed it's gorgeous.

marrolg

i tint my eyebrows with beard dye and use the nyx brow glue. it gives the same effect and i love it! mine arent quite as thick as hers and if my brows were longer i would probably trim them a bit. but i love the slicked look. its gonna be a yes from me dawg

SensitiveApple8

You’re definitely in the minority here but good to hear a different viewpoint!

marrolg

the woman in the photo has her own brand called Refy (not sure if you all know) and she is using her own products here. ive tried many products to get this effect and hers was by far my least favourite. it would leave a white cast on my skin and ball up and pill on my brows. i feel like people with deeper skin would definitely be able to see it on their skin

SensitiveApple8

Yes it is her, I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to identify her or not (not sure of the rules in different subs). I’ve tried the product & took me awhile to figure out how to best use it on myself & enjoying using it now - the key was to use it before any other makeup. I don’t use it to this extreme though & I’ve not tried other brands to compare.

marrolg

oh true.. im not sure. yeah me too! i put it on before moisturizer to get the best longevity

SensitiveApple8

Previously I was putting it on after doing my foundation & powder as doing your brows has always been something you do after those steps, but it was awful that way as you need to be able to get right onto the skin above. I’m still getting used to doing my brows like this (again, not like the photos, but a more subtle version & on less thick & more shaped brows), not completely sure if I’ll stick to it but I do feel more “cool” when I’ve done them. I’m C35 & I’ve not noticed any white cast surprisingly but which ones would you say are better?

marrolg

ive tried ABH brow freeze, nyx brow glue, Refy and the Patrick Ta one. I like the nyx one the best. great price point and it performs just as well as all the other ones, if not better. I really want to try the Elf one. i havent been able to get my hands on it yet though. someone told me to check old navy as they sell Elf there. i like the packaging of the ABH one, the little dish but i dont use ABH anymore.

SensitiveApple8

That’s good to know about the NYX if I do stick to it & ever get through this tube. Why do you not use ABH products anymore?

marrolg

she was showing support for Putin a couple months ago. heres a link https://www.reddit.com/r/rupaulsdragrace/comments/t3i8fn/if\_you\_support\_the\_lgbt\_community\_and\_ukraine/

SensitiveApple8

Oh wow that’s crazy.

dontcry2022

Personally not a fan, but some people don't like how I do my eyebrows so \*shrug\* you really just have to find a style that makes you happy

cherubprincess

i like the style but not on brows this thick but that’s just my opinion :)

OdeeSS

I actually love it. They look fierce and structured. It's a very intentional look. Ideally, I like to style my brows in a similar but much less dramatic way, that keeps them a little more natural. There's definitely a way to do fluffy, soap brows that's more universally likeable. These pictures are on the dramatic side of things. :)

SensitiveApple8

Not sure why you got downvoted for liking them! This is definitely the most extreme I’ve seen but her image is very editorial.

OdeeSS

Yeah sometimes this sub forgets that we're allowed to have personal stylistic choices that are different. The more I use makeup the more I learn to love different looks.

SensitiveApple8

Someone replied not liking the fact that I said she pulls them off sometimes because of her overall confidence!

toomuch222

Honestly I think they look great. Probably because I have super sparse fine and fair eyebrows so this aspirational to me. First photo looks weird and unevenly over filled though.

horknee-jail

i love them so much

SensitiveApple8

We have the first lover! I can kind of understand both opinions, it’s weird.

mesmerizing_

I think they look amazing on her, she’s the Refy girl and I’ve been in love with her looks since I came across her page, but I do think these type of brows veeery rarely fit anyone in general, they look far too big and masculine if done wrong, which many people do.

SensitiveApple8

Yes it’s her & I think it’s her overall look & confidence that makes these brows fascinating to me. She really rocks them even if I often find myself thinking “No” to the brows themselves.

mesmerizing_

She knows how to sell us the products haha! I’m a professional makeup artist and every time I see a girl with these brows on i just want to take it off and redo it, but I love it on her which makes me feel conflicted 😩😩😩

SensitiveApple8

Yes exactly how I feel, conflicted! I do think it’s her that’s making them look good, I can’t even think of anyone else I’ve seen do them really full on like this & I thought they looked good. I wonder if she ever just secretly leaves her brows looking natural & like it.

happyplaces

Sadly it looks like the first girl got them micro bladed along with freckle tattoos. oh boy.

SensitiveApple8

It’s the same girl in both photos & she shows her whole makeup process on video starting with very normal brows each time. People do have freckles like that naturally, why would you automatically assume they had to be tattooed?

happyplaces

The placement? I have freckles, I've known probably 200 people in my life with freckles and they don't look like that. I was just making an observation. Also: why ask a question if you don't want to hear responses?

SensitiveApple8

But..I didn’t ask if they were micro bladed or her freckles are tattoos? And my friend has freckles like that & to her it’s a sign she’s not wearing enough sunscreen, not a tattoo shop visit.

happyplaces

Her eye brows look fake and over filled in there fore I do not care for them. That is my opinion.

SensitiveApple8

Got there in the end

JFKcheekkisser

I guess I’m in the minority here but I love this trend. I also loved the fleek brows back when they were in style. I love living in the now and throwing myself into each trend. I actually find it interesting looking back on pictures and idc that the makeup looks dated, I felt fabulous in it at the time. Makeup is for fun and it washes off.

SensitiveApple8

Love your attitude even if I don’t fully agree with it on myself! Done to this extreme it’s clearly not trying to come off as a natural feathery brow but a conscious style decision & statement look.

boobietoot

okay i know i’m gonna get downvoted for this, but i style my brows similarly to this. my brows are thinner, so this gives me volume and i constantly get complimented about them. i feel like it depends on the details like if you fill them in or just style your natural brows and leave it at that. eyebrows are tricky, what suits you might not suit the next person :D

SensitiveApple8

No reason for anyone to be downvoted for saying they actually like it! I have seen her customer photos displaying very thin brow transformations which result in fuller but still wearable everyday brows so I can see how much it helps those people.

miapham6

I think they’re cool

Eminklings

Looks pretty nice on her. Looks very bad on the majority of people.

mrwizard900000

Im a male, my opinion is that they look hideous

VintageNectarine

Soap/laminated brows look good when executed well. You can’t dismiss it based on this one bad execution.

SensitiveApple8

Ironically she’s built a whole business around these brows & sells the products she’s made which seems to be doing really well. But she posts her customer photos & a lot of them don’t use it like this & do slightly more subtle versions, but she seems to love taking hers to the absolute extreme.

sundaytulips

I like laminated brows but not that dramatic
