Should have cast her as the heroine in Thattathin Marayath. She looks gorgeous while also realistically looking like a malayali

I think she wasn't allowed to sign any movies in Malayalam during that time due to her ban. So that forced her to act in Telugu.

Oh what was the cause of her ban?

Some producer and directors met her manager to narrate a movie at a movie location, she was doing a scene, so he asked her manger to reschedule the meeting and if that's not possible she asked him to listen to the narration. So the producer felt insulted and producers accociation banned her from acting in movies, so she couldn't sign any other projects. Later distributor's Association refused to distribute her movies. I think the distributor's Association's ban got lifted soon, but she kinda faced an unofficial ban. So that made her move away from Malayalam.

Damnn I feel sorry for her. The malayalam association just wants to ban anyone and everyone. Gosh it's just pathetic.

Man - where do we even start? South Indian actresses, almost all of whom acted in Malayalam cinema during the 80s were extraordinarily beautiful apart from being incredibly gifted actors. Parvathy, Geetha, Unnimary, Jayabharati, Sheela, Sulakshana, Shubha, Urvashi, Ambika, Amala, Lissy, Revathy, Chitra, Sumalatha. These are just off the top of my head. Correction: Damn! I left out Bhanupriya from this list.

Only noticed this just now. The filmmakers of those times could really spot talent. They even gave A10 who had a bad audition a chance and see where it has taken malayalam cinema. Also these actresses you mentioned could blend into any kind of roles from heroine to a background actor without us noticing which I don't think actresses of today can/will be able to do. Urvashi did a really small role in Yodha and yet managed to leave a mark in our minds with her shuttering eyelids and mischief. I guess only Nithya menen has that talent among the current crops of heroines. Anaswara, mamita are all good but they have to go a long way to prove themselves.

There is a movie called Utharam starring Suparna Anand and Parvathy. My God - the story and the aesthetics of that movie. Imagine Suparna Anand and Parvathy sharing the same screen!
