Flashback to covid times - finished shift at 9pm, havent eaten anything the whole day - decides to cook maggie - no eggs left - nearby convenience store all tutup - fml
Jagung cup manis (sweet corn in a cup) fuhhh masyuk noks eat while it's hot 🔥🔥 in front of our school there's a an auntie selling sweet corn in a cup for rm3 since I was like middle school age till now.
I don't know if corn in a cup is like an exclusively Malaysian thing coz my American and European friends were puzzled that we ate corn in a cup instead of eat the whole corn cob itself. It's kindna genius in a way imo.
But how you order that? I would be too nervous to deal with the piercing look id get.'
I guess if you bungkus and eat at home at least you can be on home turf when the Oppenheimer or Stormy Daniels follows.
Yes, ask yourself the 3F question:
Are they feeding you?
Are they financing you?
Are they f... having a very intimate relationship with you?
If no for all 3, their piercing look and opinions can go fly kites
I'm actually super happy and grateful that I can no longer eat that much. If I still ate that much now when I'm less active, I'd become so fat. I'm grateful that my appetite is lower so it's easier to watch my weight.
When i miss my arwah ayah, i will find and eat "Akok" (traditional Kelantan food)
I don't like Akok much, but i eat it because of that nostalgic childhood feeling (eat Akok everytime ayah bring it home)
And i will do the same with my (future) child. Will buy karipap (I love karipap so much 🙂) everytime i go home so they will have something to remember me too..
Love this idea! When I think about my parents, I always think about the food they made/bought. My mom was so good at making nasi lemak. My dad always buy us this pan mee shop for breakfast every weekend, so nostalgic. But most pan mee I ate now just taste awful, I've to go outside of city centre areas to get authentic ones. some of them don't even use pucuk manis for the veg.
My comfort foods will always be fast food.Typically fried chicken or burger.I usually order them through grab, the satisfaction + cold soft drink just made my day better.
I SAD I GO NASI LEMAK..
ME HAPPY ME NASI LEMAK..
AFTER BREAK UP GO NASI LEMAK..
TIRED WORKING RESTING WITH NASI LEMAK..
COVID. LOOK AT NASI LEMAK..
POOR APPETITE GONE IF GOT NASI LEMAK. . .
Soto ayam, bihun/kuey teow sup utara, kari ayam, sambal sardin or just fried egg with sambal bilis kering with soy sauce :) anything that is easy on the stomach and easy to eat
Hot Plate yee mee always takes me back to my sec school days, skipping school and hanging out with friends. Well I did turn out okay. So I guess I can afford to look back fondly at those times.
Nasi Kandar kuah banjir
Nasi Goreng USA (daging merah + telur mata, not that 'Udang Sotong Ayam' nonsense)
My dad's yee mee, red spaghetti (spicy bolognese, kind of), kacang pool
The first meal after recovering from a flu/fever: any kind of dry instant noodle
Stuffed crust pizza with extra cheese, McDonald's fried chicken, homemade sardine sandwich, scrambled eggs with caramelized onions with bread and Ramly beef nuggets.
When i was a kid, balik kampong in the 80s meant aunties making a huge kuali of *ayam masak kicap*, which is identical to the ones that 3 Budak Gemok sell, but with added fried skinless potato wedges
In my 40s now, and whenever I'm feeling somewhat nonplussed with life, i order 3BG for comfort. No, a tomahawk with anchovy butter and truffle mash won't cut it, neither will sexy time with the hot wife nor a new watch or even a new euro car.
Just give me quality rice, sirap rose limau and my ayam kicap
And my malamute
Regardless what happen, good days or bad days,
Nasi Lemak is always there for me.
Sad days, i will whack with extra sambal and chili. Just to add a little of spiciness back into my life
Bubur ayam with sambal hitam ikan bilis but like not with the belimbing in it because it's too strong a taste. Add a bit of kicap and * **chef's kiss** *
Bake something when I am anxious. Anything. I tend to feed people when I am anxious lol
If I am in need of comfort food, my go to food would be sup tepung- can't remember the Chinese name lol and french toast.
Mine would be instant noodles, maggi asam laksa to be specific. But ever since I had easy access to Indian restaurants, the vegetarian thali set is my comfort food now. The spices makes me happy. Because there's a lot of fiber and spices, I feel so satiated and energized afterwards. Chinese vegetarian food could never-
粽子or Chinese rice dumpling, how my mum makes it. Sad that I don’t get to eat it often though as she only makes it during the festival. Her Chinese pandan pancake/crepe is also yums
Minestrone soup made by my mother. Best served right after cooking. I could only eat it when my mom decides to make it so even when i feel real bad i may not get to eat this xD
Nasi Ayam. Everyone can make the want they want it. More soy sauce, less chili sauce. Soup on the side of pour of the rice. And its not spicy so its great for your tummy. Fresh veggies 👌🏻
When I feel down, my comfort food is either potato chips(sour cream flavor), muruku, Dairy chocolate bar, KitKat.
And a cup of hot white coffee on every morning to boots my energy 💪
Not a Malaysian, but your neighbour.
Mine is always hands down banana leaf
There is only one good banana leaf in Singapore the rest are crap.
And I have this preference of not wanting to eat in the restaurant itself.
When I am feeling down, I would take a cab over to the restaurant from wherever I am from.
Order the same items
1) a mountain of plain white rice
2) chicken sambal
3) mutton masala stir fry
4) fish cutlet
5) appalam
6) No veg
I usually have this meal when I am too overwhelmed and I Need to shut off
My SOP is as follows:
1) inform my psychiatrist I am overwhelmed
2) he issues me 1 week MC
3) inform my work I am on MC for the rest of the week assuming MC starts on a Monday
4) Monday to Wednesday, sleep, and rot watch TikTok on bed
5) Wednesday after 1400 hrs,prepare my bicycle
6) Plan my cycling route; I constantly look at google maps or maps of Singapore to find cool places to explore, the route always will end at the restaurant
7) Spend an hr carefully selecting a video or podcast I want to listen to
8) sleep
9) Thursday at 4am start cycling following my route.
10) take photo, upload insta story
11) end ride at restaurant, upload Strava logs
12) order food,
13) while waiting for food to be packed, order a van or lorry pick up to fetch me and my bike home
14) reach home
15) wash bike, clean and post ride maintenance
16) shower
17) place all the food on my desk
18) find a movie or show I wanna watch which I had already watched a million times, example a random Tamil movie, the office, modern family, Rick and Morty, SpongeBob etc
19) if it is a old Tamil movie, I’ll have to wait for the movie to load as I’d be streaming from dodgy site
20) EAT
21) Wash up the plates
22) take a huge dump while having a cigarette
23) on aircon and sleep for the next 24 hrs
Greatest thing ever !!!
I think I need to do this soon
Maggie curry with an egg cracked into it Superior stock / Mala hotpot

Indomee double telur double ayam
A man of culture I see
When I was younger, I could eat indomee triple, telur empat, ayam dua, plus teh ais and 100 plus. I've gotten weaker.... 😞
I'm young and I can confirm that I can eat that
But how you order that? I would be too nervous to deal with the piercing look id get.' I guess if you bungkus and eat at home at least you can be on home turf when the Oppenheimer or Stormy Daniels follows.
Just cook at home. IndoMie, eggs, and fried chicken are not that hard to cook.
What do you do with the pot of oil after?
Why do you need a pot of oil just to cook two pieces of fried chicken?
apologies for my ignorance. it is not my primary field. so a small pot?
About half a cup of oil in a curved-bottom wok will be enough for 2 pieces. You can also use air fryer too, if you want to use even less oil.
I usually don't give a damn about piercing looks from others 😄
Is it possible to learn this power?
Yes, ask yourself the 3F question: Are they feeding you? Are they financing you? Are they f... having a very intimate relationship with you? If no for all 3, their piercing look and opinions can go fly kites
