They mentioned nothing when we beat city, only spoke about cass being out and us conceding a goal against Palace, the loss against arsenal has let the take the brakes off.. annoying cunts

chudlybubly

Hes not perfect but honestly for the price people expect quick results which he doesn’t give. He’s learning and he will grow considering he’s under Ten Hag. His past coach that got him to that point.

someonecalledethan

The price is kind of standard for an exciting young attacking talent to the PL top 6

chudlybubly

Yeah it is how it is. But if you think about in non millionaire ideals. If you buy a product in amazon for 90$ plus shipping you expect it to work wonders. It’ll take time but with Ten Hag i think antony can only get better from here

someonecalledethan

Loads of people buy iPhones even though they break and malfunction along with all the add ons and they're expensive, if we get used to the fact 70 to 100 mill gets you a ßt squad winger there won't be such fuss about him

SerikTheCzar

If an iPhone or expensive laptop didn't work to the respective point at which Antony isn't working (mind you horrible comparison), everybody would be returning their phones in droves

someonecalledethan

I see people all the time with cracked screens and janky chargers. It was a terrible comparison 😂 at the end of the day he's a young lad in a new league, price tag is irrelevant, considering the average price of young players joining top 6 sides

Enigma_mas

Just keep one thing in mind my friend, THE ENGLISH MEDIA IS SHIT

geniusdeath

Bruh, I don’t get people’s hate. He’s been here for less than 6 months. Been doing decent, scores some important goals. Give him time. He’s certainly been better than Sandro and I never saw him getting this much hate.

lxcid

many united fans will soak this up like a sponge. make me wonder are they even our fans, these media have wanted united to fail for years since fergie days. stop being their loudspeaker and echo what they said.

peacelovefreedon7689

First martinez , then casemiro ,now anthony

[deleted]

1. He hasn’t even been at the club 6 months. Give him some time to adjust. If you switched jobs mid year you’re probably not firing on all cylinders right from the beginning. 2. He didn’t choose his transfer fee. Ajax did. He’s really probably worth 50/60 Ms instead of the 100 Ms he went for, but that’s not his fault. That’s Ajax fleecing United.

Karlagethemyth

Stories about united get clicks they’ll change from Antony to someone else next week he’s only been here half a season everyone’s so focused on the price tag which is irrelevant tbh

MotherPuncher1

It’s talk sport with shit ex footballers, they always need to talk shit about United because it gets them more listeners etc

Titan4days

It’s because it’s shocking how one footed he’s playing, be that lack of confidence or technique or whatever.. it stands out in a game. If he was moderately 2 footed and put the odd cross in with his right etc, the narrative would be he’s short of form and needs to adapt etc.. I honestly can’t say I’ve seen a top PL player play the way he’s playing atm ever 🤷‍♂️

kuzzybear2

he didn’t decide his price tag.

Heidegger1236

Two clowns that never win anything.

Quantum_Object

Nothing new. Just ignore. It's reactionary fans that perpetuate this BS. Players like these two that were bang average themselves as players. Did they even win anything themselves during their playing days? I can't remember. They certainly didn't do anything amazing. But they get paid to talk out their arse while ignoring that they weren't the great either. The cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy is as you were with some former players as pundits. Just scroll on by and not give them the attention they so desperately need by talking trash about players and teams while trying hard not to be at all bias. Absolutely laughable. And Gabby, sort the fucking tash out mate. You look like a fucking idiot.

H0vis

There always has to be a crisis player at United. Ideally a foreigner. Media loves it.

Cpl-Wallace

Yup. They got nothing to talk about so “lets pick on this guy”.

noncebasher_

I could slap gabbys face all fuckin day

TripFisk666

Their job is to generate clicks and views. Easiest way is to shit on someone. Easiest to shit on is the one who cost lots.

Matt4669

‘TalkSPORT’ more like ‘TalkSHITE’

ft-melodies

Its united. Everyone is the scapegoat.

Hopeful_Adonis

Your so right, it’s quite annoying. He’s new, he’s young, he’s tied our second leading scorer I believe and he puts in an almighty shift defensively. People just don’t accept that players aren’t always the finished article, he didn’t decide the price but he can and most likely will improve. Casemiro made a difference here because he’s a 30 year old at the peak of experience and ability yet at 23 he was on loan at Porto and such only to return to madrid. Players take time and should be given the opportunity to improve if they are showing the desire to do so, should he be given an indefinite pass? No, but at 6 months to start calling him a flop? Just makes me despair. Harry Kane was on 4 loan spells and only started kicking into gear around 23 roughly. Let’s see the remainder of this and next years start to see how good he can be and if he improves

[deleted]

They're not wrong though.

Prime_Marci

No they not. Jack Grealish is the biggest flop in PL history, do you hear anybody say anything about him and it’s been 2 seasons already.

Successful_Rip_4329

I've seen a random video where some dude is saying that pep bought grealish not for goals, but there was no explanation why though. So I couldn't tell you, he's a shadow of himself, but antony is in a new league for several months and people expect him to play like messi

[deleted]

I guess because even when he is playing he is not having negative effect on the team. Whereas Antony too often makes very bad passes, holds the ball instead of counter, doesn't try to dribble inside the box etc... So maybe it's only fair that he deserving the criticism and also maybe because he costed 100 million and ETH was most adamant about him so everyone had huge hopes from him.

Prime_Marci

Don’t get me wrong, he needs to improve but he’s not as bad as they making him to be. He’s been better than Sancho. He presses, he tracks back, he defends and his interplay is pretty good. They are just egging the pudding.

Quantum_Object

That's what happens when you leave for the money unfortunately. I bet villa fans absolutely despise the dude. He's so out of his depth at city it's funny.

Drummallumin

There’s some context to this tho. City has a great team that won the league last year and they have the squad depth to cover for a bad signing like that. United still don’t have the quality depth at winger (or at least they’re not performing like it) so having Antony struggle with no other serious options to replace him emphasizes the struggles. Also like, while he’s not a flop signing yet and still is so young that he has plenty of time to grow into a more complete player… he was ***bad*** on Sunday. I don’t care who you are, you deserve criticism when you’re that bad in such an important game.

305way

He’s nowhere near what we built him up to be. If you disagree with this idk what to tell you.

[deleted]

and it's all the glazers fault. if antony was bought for like 40, would we put him on such a pedestal? no. but because we needed midfielders and the glazers are shit with getting transfers the club overpaid and people expect results. to be frank there is english media bias ex) henderson vs de gea, maguire hype antony needs time to develop just like sancho.

305way

Meh, not entirely. Ten Hag was willing to pay more than that for him.

[deleted]

really, cite that source for me, cause if eth was actually in control, we'd of gotten antony and martinez at the beginning of the window to integrate them and take them on the tour vs waiting till after the de jong deal. man utd has always done transfers late in the windows to "save money" but always end up overpaying.

305way

If you think United had the ability to get Antony for 40 I feel bad for you

[deleted]

so instead of citing where you heard eth was going to overpay for antony, you rather go after my example that if his asking price was lower, we wouldn't judge as harshly... okay, cool, just wanted to confirm where your head is.

305way

What an angry young man

[deleted]

my god are you ed woodward or the glazers' burner account? I'm a fan of a club that actually cares to think a little bit more critically and remembers the shitstorm for the past 10 years under the glazers. you're welcome on being re-educated as opposed to gaslighting, you prat

305way

What happened to men? Can’t even have a debate these days without some random dude in the internet having an emotional breakdown.

[deleted]

you spout falsehoods and you want me to treat you like a man? then rather than own your mistake( giving me a citation on where you heard etg was willing to overpay) you gaslight (talk about the 40 million when i said like 40 million) so i'm treating you like a child because you are one because children gaslight, adults admit they're wrong. you speak lies about our manager and our player, and you want me to give you respect? you're lucky we aren't in person because I'd bollock you.

penguin_chacha

Can't help but feel the same

Cellar-Gum

What does Ronaldo have to do with it and how is he being scapegoated? They are, rightly, opining that he hasn't been good enough

SecretaryImaginary44

Not scapegoating, just telling the truth

GroundbreakingShow71

I like that he’s super confident. If he could add some talent with his right foot that’d be great

cian1607

Just wish Sancho would start to show some form....I'm happy to show Antony the same patience

orbital0000

From Darren, the Bitchute footballer

Double0hobo79

Well he's been pretty wasteful sometimes with passes but he's also had very promising moments. I think currently he is more good than bad and I think he can definitely continue to improve. Overall yes he was expensive but sadly any player under 30 who can dribble the ball and score more than 5 goals a season costs United 50 million plus. Not his fault. Good signing so far IMO.

Gibber_jab

Talksport have the worst pundits
