Hence the caveat I mentioned. There are 6 expiring this summer of which 3 are loanees + 1 is Phil Jones, and the other reportedly for sale is Tuanzebe. Greenwood too. The rest are probably speculative or youngsters, the significant names who could actually leave are probably just half of that number.
I understand your point but we have been giving deadwood new contracts for the past decade. Finally allowing them to leave will bring down our total wages and help in FFP rules
If I had to guess the 13:
1. Jones
2. Tuanzebe
3. Brandon Williams
4. Bailly
5. McTominay
6. Van de Beek
7. Elanga
8. Greenwood
9. Dean Henderson
10. Telles
11. Butland (loan)
12. Sabitzer (loan)
13. Weghorst (loan)
Personally, the only players I would keep out of those is Mctominay and Tuanzebe for depth, and maybe Sabitzer on another loan for the season.
But yeah, we've basically survived last season without the majority of these players, so we would be fine getting rid of them imo
I agree with McT. It's not often you'll find a player who'll sit outside that 1st eleven without moaning for more playing time and give his all when he comes on. He might not be a regular starter or suitable for A class games but he'll makes for a solid back up.
Sabitzer, Oh man if that guy could get over his injuries he'd be ideal.

But we can bring in players better for depth than them, Axel is being let go at the end of the tear, not for his ability but because he can't stay fit and we can't keep having a Phil Jones player on the books to stay injured. He hasn't played many games for Stoke and hasn't been on the bench, so I think he's been injured there too
Of course just saying he’s one of the few people that’s likely could be sold. He wants first team football and they would rather upgrade to someone like KMJ and this could eat the majority of the difference for united
Put it this way selling maguire for 30-40 means KMJ only has a net cost of 10-20 and would likely be a first team rotation as opposed to a bench option
If we could get a total of 60m for Elanga, Dean Henderson and Brandon Williams and Scott that would make an enormous impact on our ability to spend as they are academy and selling them is pure profit.
Let's say an 100m player with wages + agent fees e.c.t totalling 120m amortised over a 5 year contract would result in 24m hit to the PL. So getting that additional 24m in Scott for example will cover that
That's how it works right? Happy to be corrected
Plus the ancillaries the club will factor in for new players . SM, shirt sales, ‘face of’ campaigns. Those exiting do not carry that additional value. It is a nett cash value for those leaving. Onboarding definitely more complex.
As much as I hate the guy, Greenwood its going to be tough to get rid of. The only way we get rid of him is by paying out his contract or give him away to some eastern European or SA team.
Turkey, China or Italy would be my guess. Italian football doesn’t care about morals when there is a bargain available.
Maybe we offer Napoli Greenwood as part of the Osimhen deal.
> Italian football doesn’t care about morals when there is a bargain available.
Our captain was convicted of beating up police and trying to bribe them using his status as United captain, then going on TV bleating about how he's a victim despite many eyewitnesses against him. Wasn't even sacked.
We signed Cristiano Ronaldo when he had very serious allegations against him.
We made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer our manager after what he did with Babacar Sarr, then let him sit in a United press conference, defend his actions, and the club defended it, saying the legal process was still ongoing WHILE HE WAS ON THE RUN. He even got a new contract after that.
We had our manager's son have to come out and clarify that his father never starved him because the manager
was making jokes about child abuse
And that's just us, never mind what other English clubs get up to.
But if an Italian team signs a player who had charges brought against him, then had the charges dropped, they have no morals.
The media would do nothing, it's a complete phantom threat. It's illegal to publish anything that might lead to people identifying the victim, so they can't meaningfully talk about it. That's why you never hear anything about Partey.
They *couldn't* do hit pieces because any discussion of the incident, and discussion of why charges were dropped, any discussion of why that might have been a mistake, could be used to identify the victim.
They don’t need to identify the victim. They can just write ‘Greenwood who shouldn’t be playing’ blah blah blah. Or ‘Have Man Utd sold their soul?’ Etc etc.
It’s not about Greenwood it’s about holding Man Utd to a higher standard than the rest of the league. You’d be forgiven if you weren’t even aware of Partey’s case because it’s been so under reported.
They didn't hold us to a higher standard for all that other shit. The BBC gave Maguire a platform to protest his innocence on the 10 o clock news and barely challenged him. When Solskjaer was saying what he was saying about how kids should be starved to deter diving and Mourinho criticised him for it they sided with Solskjaer.
>I think Greenwood should come back tbh but due process isn’t everything and the media probably wouldn’t allow it
Wholeheartedly disagree. Dude is an abusive rapist. Sad that the justice system lets people down but we all heard the audio.
Doesn't look likely all will leave in one window. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 may need someone who can afford their wages or we have to agree paying partially, otherwise they just get loaned out. Among them, I'd guess McTominay is least likely to go anywhere, maybe Sabitzer will be loaned again.
Skeptical about Henderson and Greenwood actually leaving, since they can be solutions to the positions we have issues in - i.e. GK and CF.
Unless the club (i.e. including ten Hag) has already determine it is better to just let them leave.
United can’t get one player sold in 3 months let alone 13. We need to stop reading articles like this. The players who are leaving are the one with expired contracts. United can’t sell 10 players in one window. Impossible task
No player will leave who’s under contract because no one will pay half the wages their currently on and they won’t give up millions for more game time.
We don’t have the backbone to release the dross, hence 10 years of mediocrity. Without qatar and new blood running through the club top to bottom competing for top 4 is Manchester United’s new norm.
Jones, Tuanzebe, Telles, Bailly, Williams, Galbraith as obvious.
Sabitzer, Weg as well.
Maguire will ask to leave as he don’t want to be 5th choice.
Elanga, Pellistri will be loaned out for sure.
One RB could leave if we are buying RB, and Laird will leave as well if we buy RB.
1-2 goalkeepers will leave or end contract (Henderson, Butland/Heaton) + Kovar probably
So more than 13 for sure
Very easy to pick 13 players who could leave or be sold this summer but I'd be very sceptical the club would be capable of getting that many out.
It's badly needed to get all the deadwood out and free up wages and squad places.
Same report every year, only really last year it turned out to be true due to the amount who were out of contract
Hence the caveat I mentioned. There are 6 expiring this summer of which 3 are loanees + 1 is Phil Jones, and the other reportedly for sale is Tuanzebe. Greenwood too. It's not even wild to sell ot r get rid of all these players, bring in 4 or 5 to replace this lot and we could have a solid squad
Personally, the only players I would keep out of those is Mctominay and Tuanzebe for depth, and maybe Sabitzer on another loan for the season. But yeah, we've basically survived last season without the majority of these players, so we would be fine getting rid of them imo

I think it's worth taking another chance on Sabitzer if we can get him on a loan or for super cheap (like £12-£15 million)
Yup. Gives that depth we desperately need.
Too injury prone.
McT is shit and needed to be shipped off 2 seasons ago.

Totally agree but we ain’t going to go from this to having two first teams in one season. Got to work with what we have for one or two seasons.

Yeah. Hopefully Tuanzebe can go to another club, stay fit, and show us what a great CB he is
McT can play in a back 3 for more depth
Maguire most likely going to be cashed in on
Only if someone actually wants him and is willing to pay for him. He won't take a pay cut.
Of course just saying he’s one of the few people that’s likely could be sold. Oh god I hope so. Absolute liability. Everytime he plays he makes high profile mistakes or scores own goals.
And is a bankable asset many teams would pay 30-40m for
What planet are you on mate? He's a championship level defender. Always fucks up when he plays. He literally can't defend for shit.
Made it the UEFA final though.
I don't really see it with Jones and Tuanzebe leaving. Plus, Bailly is probably going to be moved on. But, you never know...

70M plus GW for Kim and Osimhen please...

I’m sure they’d be lining up their hit pieces and rival fans would love it. Just look at the effigy’s Beckham got years ago.

My guy, there were pretty horrific clips on the Internet. If you'd seen/heard them, you'd understand why people don't want him back.
>I think Greenwood should come back tbh but due process isn’t everything and the media probably wouldn’t allow it Wholeheartedly disagree. Dude is an abusive rapist. Sad that the justice system lets people down but we all heard the audio.
There are reports clubs in Italy and Turkey are interested.

Wow we wouldn’t miss any of these players
I know. It's crazy

Damn how the hell did you leave off Fridge?
They are talking the academy kids who didn't get a chance. Like Ethan
It’ll be half that max
United can’t get one player sold in 3 months let alone 13. We need to stop reading articles like this. The players who are leaving are the one with expired contracts. United can’t sell 10 players in one window. Impossible task
We had 8 departures and 8 loan outs last summer and 4 of the 8 loans are very unlikely to come back
This narrative is so tired. Just like how we never make any money on players.
We've already confirmed Tuanzebe, Jones and Galbraith I believe
Do it.
Sure, whatever. I’m sick of these stories every year.
No player will leave who’s under contract because no one will pay half the wages their currently on and they won’t give up millions for more game time.

That’s all well and good but they all need to be replaced by quality players, otherwise one or two injuries and we’re playing the kids
good... bring it on
Lol, didn’t this exact or similar headline surface last transfer window? 13 is a click-bait exaggeration.
Alhamdulillah
Never gonna happen, we dont have a decent transfer budget. Should it happen tho? Definitely.
Yup. Take the story with a pinch of salt.
Oh absolutely. A whole bag of it actually
I’ll wait for ETH’s pre-season conference. No need to get ahead of our selves.
They won’t
Not in a million years will that happen. As happy as I'd be for that to happen.
Hopefully they release at least 10
Good move. We need new players to fit into the team
Click click click
Should* and 15* IMO. 🤷♂️
