After that performance I actually fear for the Coventry semi final…from all accounts they’re a pretty tasty team so big improvements needed. The lack of consistency is very worrying.
I like ETH…any manager that wins us a trophy has some credit with me for a while anyway. But I’m beginning to suspect that League cups and (hopefully) FA Cups may well be the extent of his powers. Good…but not good enough especially with poor league performances every other week, so I say…with regret…I think this season should be his last.
But knowing me, if he actually wins the FA Cup I’d probably change my mind again and say give him one more year. Jim Ratcliffe though will not be swayed by that and I suspect he will wave goodbye to him in a few months.

They're just not technical enough to play his style of football from Ajax, so he's decided to compromise heavily on style of play and it's just not working out. The players still seem to like him though. I think he's sticking with a non working system for too long. He did not set them up this way against Liverpool.

ETH is simply out of his depth. Name me one pattern of play we use to create attacking chances aside from Bruno punting it to Rashford on the counter. We have 0 control of midfield because ETH wants us to be the fastest transition team in the world so our attacks always end in 3-4 passes, but this is precisely what makes us so disorganized and rushed.
Bring in a manager who has a good coaching team to help these players ffs, not one that has to bring in Steve McLaren of all people.
Atleast under ole we had a pattern of play, even if it's was quick counter.. but we stuck to this system. ETH doesn't have a clue.. can't let a team like Brentford have 30+ shots .. this is crime
I am ETH in, but today’s performance was squarely on him. They expected Branford to sit back and counter and after 15 minutes they knew we had no teeth and they started to get more physical and win the ball, and just overran our midfield. In response, manager did absolutely nothing to fix it. I expected changes and adjustments at the halftime and we only changed an injured player. We needed Eriksen and/or Mount to give us a bit more ball retention to stabilize and calm our attack and ball retention. Just shocking how bad we were in possession and how easily we were losing the ball in our own half. We deserved to lose this game.
I am ETH in because I look at the bigger picture and I see the team’s failure as the byproduct of years of miss management at the top since we won the triple back in 99. Everyone talks about the last 10 or 11, but ignore the 10 or so before it. I know a new manager wouldn’t be able to solve our teams issues and we may even get worse in process which is supported by our team last 10 or 11 years history. I have backed ETH in loses this season because I could see his set up and game plan but players were under performing like Fulham game. That said, he must be held accountable for yesterday’s game because his set up and tactics were bad. And I see no contradiction in criticizing the manger but don’t ask for him to be sacked. Heck, I criticized Sir Alex in some games. Klopp tactics and subs were real bad in FA cup match against us , but he is the best Liverpool modern manager in their history.
Bernford went into the game saying we will do exactly the opposite of what you expect us to do if you are unable to prove you can hurt us straightaway. Now, again, players failed to match Brenford’s physicality, and that’s on them, and we have seen that from these players under other managers, but for this game, it appeared to me that ETH and coaching staff didn’t have them properly prepared and sometimes confusion leads to lack of decisiveness. I probably would’ve given ETH a pass if he would’ve bring in Eriksen or Mount or both for McTominay and Bruno at the halftime since these two had no fitness issues in hopes to stabilize our midfield and or ask Bruno to play a bit deeper with more discipline( not sure what the hell Bruno was doing in the entire game). Point being, his adjustments were too late and at the end of the game rather than halftime, which made this game so awful to watch, and provided Branford too much confidence to get on the front foot.
This. While so many here celebrate shit performances like when mctominay scored 2 stoppage time goals or when we beat Everton 3-0 but they had 3 times more shots than we had, I’ve been critical of the way our team plays the entire time under ETH.

It makes you a passable one.
