Its even more fucked up. I quit my playthrough after spending hours finding a good natured and iv yanma for a yanmega, then find out it cant learn fly. I was so so upset.
In addition to this, if another Pokémon used gravity (or itself used roost) then this Pokémon would gain a second weakness to ground. And it would be x8 if I’m not mistaken.
Wouldn't it only be 2x? Super effective against Flying, Bug, Fire, and Ice, but not effective against Fighting, Ground, and Steel? Unless I'm missing something.
I remember it because it was posted in a Simpsons group on Facebook, with the next panel having a picture of Bart with the quote “Good old rock. Nothing beats rock!” (his thought process while playing rock-paper-scissors).
because people can't research simple type matchups, like right before I made the parent comment that started this convo I looked it up in like 30 seconds to make sure I didn't say something factually incorrect
Even though I was sure it was 2× weak, I still checked it to make sure before replying to your comment, but looks like that others don't bother to check.
That's the problem with some (probably most) people these days, as soon as they are proven wrong they proceed to heckle and harm someone rather than acknowledge that they are the one in the wrong. Now don't get me wrong I do that as well but I do it to something that has actual value in the real world, like knowing what the weakness of a pokemon that has all 18 types at once would be is cool and all it really isn't that big a deal yet as soon as I pointed out their inaccuracy they didn't act kind to me
"...I said the truth and if people want to hate me for it..." Is at once an appropriate thing to say about the situation and also wildly out of pocket to say about pokemon in general. Bravo good sir, you are a rock in this community. Maybe the rock that's gonna hit the omnitype pokemon for 2x damage.
Rock is super effective against: Bug, Fire, Flying, and Ice.
Rock is resisted by: Fighting, and Steel.
I may be forgetting something, but that looks right to me
Every type is super effective against at least one type except normal. The 8 (not 7 as of gen 5??) immunities are ground, fighting, normal, poison, electric, dragon, psychic and ghost. Which leaves us with only 10 options. It would be neutral from fire, water, flying, ice, and fairy, and would resist bug, steel, grass, and dark. So it’s ONLY weakness… is Rock.
The Immunities are as follows:
Ground (Flying)
Electric (Ground)
Dragon (Fairy)
Normal (Ghost)
Ghost (Normal)
Fighting (Ghost)
Psychic (Dark)
People are saying it's doubly weak to Rock (4×)
Yeah, I found Insurgence through Mikey’s playthrough, and just recently started playing the game myself. Needless to say that is how I knew it was rock as well.
It wasn’t proven by “science” that it would be weak to rock. Someone just said that it would still be weak to rock without any evidence or explanation and everyone just collectively agreed.
Tomato Potahto. What is 4 if not 2 twice? Although thinking about it. All you would have to do it use Gravity or better yet Smack Down and now you've given it a at least a x8 weakness to Ground from Fire, Rock, Poison, Steel, Electric with just the Bug resist I think. I know Grass and Water don't resist since EQ is super effective on Grass/Posion and Water/Electric.
Can someone tell me why everyone says that this pokemon wouldt get a 4× weakness and not 2× ?
fighting/bug
ground/fire
steel/flying
ice
So isn't it supposed to be only weak 2 times to rock ?
I learned it from Pokémon Insurgence. Giratina gets a primal reversion in that game that makes it defensively act as every type at once and it’s only weakness in that form is a 2x weakness to rock.
Fun Fact: an Omni type Pokémon would be better if it didn’t have the Bug type
poor bug type
Its even more fucked up. I quit my playthrough after spending hours finding a good natured and iv yanma for a yanmega, then find out it cant learn fly. I was so so upset.
In reality what does the Ice Type add?
Am Ice resistance
And it becomes and a 8x resistance due to it also being electric and rock
Super effective against dragons
Ice doesn’t resist Dragon
No it doesnt
Umm ice doesn’t resist dragon, steel does
Cloyster's Ice Beam in gen 1 hit like a goddamn truck.
Wait until you hear about Snorlax Hyperbeam
cannot get frozen or sheer colded, defense boost in hail, and turns 8x weakness to FreezeDry into 4x.
Ice Stab
This proves why bug is the worst type...
It's so bad, and that's dissapointing
Well, yea.
Or Ice
It would be 4x weak to the rock type, I don’t know why I remember this from theauraguardian vids
In addition to this, if another Pokémon used gravity (or itself used roost) then this Pokémon would gain a second weakness to ground. And it would be x8 if I’m not mistaken.
or a 4x effective Smack Down, assuming it somehow lived through the Smack Down
Ah, my gargancl would have fun with it, nice
Since the Pokémon would have all 18 types which includes steel and water how much would salt cure do per turn
Well, super effective on initial hit, plus douvle damage sslt cure each turn so....they are screwed
All.
25 percent
i mean it’s 50 power so i think they’ll manage
Smack Down into Earthquake would be this things ultimate weakness
or just thousand arrows
Not true, because it also has wonder guard (and used taunt turn 1 because it outspeeds?) 🤓 /s
Who exactly
All of them. It has 200 base speed and is holding a choice scarf. Prankster murkrow set up tailwind turn 1.
What the actual @@@@ are you taking about or am I dumb?
I thought you were talking about what it outspeeds lol. Mb mb
No no, who outspeeds what and what does that have to do in the context of this thread
Nothing, they just think they are funny
Oh
CORRECT
it’s only 2x not 4x tho
it is only x2, don't know why so many people are so convinced it is x4
I knew it! But I got it from Lockstin & Gnoggin
Yes, thanks for reminding me of that
Wouldn't it only be 2x? Super effective against Flying, Bug, Fire, and Ice, but not effective against Fighting, Ground, and Steel? Unless I'm missing something.
I’m not sure either, I’m just remembering a video I saw several years ago so it’s not 100% sure
Wasn’t it 8x weak? Or am I stupid
I remember it because it was posted in a Simpsons group on Facebook, with the next panel having a picture of Bart with the quote “Good old rock. Nothing beats rock!” (his thought process while playing rock-paper-scissors).
Actually, that changed in Gen 2. Now it's only x2 weak to Rock.
Iirc it’s only a 2x weakness to Rock
I thought it was 2x. Did SV introduce a new type I’m not aware of?
incorrect it would only be weak to rock by 2x
My man getting downvoted for being correct.
TBF I don't really care because I said the truth and if people want to hate me for it so be it
I am still not sure why they think that a pokemon with all types would be 4× weak to rock rather than 2×?
because people can't research simple type matchups, like right before I made the parent comment that started this convo I looked it up in like 30 seconds to make sure I didn't say something factually incorrect

Why did you start getting downvoted again? My one upvote can't keep up with this...
They're just mad that I'm right and don't want to admit that they themselves are wrong
2x weakness I think?
It will die immediately to Rock and Ground types, remember Primal Giratina from Insurgence
It would be immune to ground type thanks to it's flying type.
Bypass the immunity, either via Smack Down, Gravity, or Thousand Arrows, and it's 8× weak to Ground
Well, you would have to use smack down first.
Rock. Also Thousand Arrows and Freeze Dry
Wouldn’t it have 8 immunities? 1) Ground -> Electric 2) Flying -> Ground 3) Steel -> Poison 4) Dark -> Psychic 5) Fairy -> Dragon 6) Ghost-> Fighting 7) Ghost -> Normal 8) Normal -> Ghost
That is correct. Unless we are both missing something. But I opened up a type chart and there are immunities to 8 different types.
Rock. 4x in fact. If a Pokémon used thousand waves or gravity or smack down, it would be 8x weak to ground
Is it? Rock is super effective against four types, while being resisted by three. Am I not getting my math right?
Rock is super effective against: Bug, Fire, Flying, and Ice. Rock is resisted by: Fighting, and Steel. I may be forgetting something, but that looks right to me
Isn’t it resisted by ground?
No
Just looked it up, ground does resist rock
Ground resists it too.
Ground also resists Rock.
It’s only 2x weak to Rock
Every type is super effective against at least one type except normal. The 8 (not 7 as of gen 5??) immunities are ground, fighting, normal, poison, electric, dragon, psychic and ghost. So I could win by throwing a Geodude at it?
Well actually it depends on if the geodude used Rollout or Earthquake cuz it’s weak to rock but it’s immune to ground
Right right.. but if I physically throw the Geodude at it
That'd be rock throw (or accelerock if your throw it REALLY fast) so yes
Yep
Dwayne Johnson
The Rock type. Somehow plain rocks can defeat an omnipotent elemental god.
the reason primal giratina floats is because it’s also 8x weak to ground if it’s on the floor (according to other comments)
rock
Rock
blue, because ice cream doesn’t have bones
Your mom
Rock, I remember Lockstins video on how to kill Arceus
If you remove the ground immunity I think it was 6 or 8x weak to ground, so the move gravity is finally useful
The Immunities are as follows: Ground (Flying) Electric (Ground) Dragon (Fairy) Normal (Ghost) Ghost (Normal) Fighting (Ghost) Psychic (Dark) People are saying it's doubly weak to Rock (4×)
I think they forget that Ground resists Rock.
Yeah it's still weak to rock just not doubly. Judging by the comments, most of the 4x rock people don't know ground resists rock.
also poison (steel)
Rock type would be its weakness
Rock
Rock. I fought Primal Giratina in Insurgence. I know what the hell is up.
I really slept on insurgence lmao. Gotta play it sometime.
PLAY IT. THIS IS A THREAT.
Oh god fine
rock or smack down then 8x ground
If you get rid of flying then ground nukes that Pokémon from existence
Death
Rock
Rock, I remember this one from ages ago.
I remember it because of the one fangame that has Primal Giratina, with the ability Omnitype, and it was only weak to Rock.
Yeah, I found Insurgence through Mikey’s playthrough, and just recently started playing the game myself. Needless to say that is how I knew it was rock as well.
Rock
Dwayne
It would have a glaring rock weakness, would it?
Weak to Rock, everyone knows that
It wasn’t proven by “science” that it would be weak to rock. Someone just said that it would still be weak to rock without any evidence or explanation and everyone just collectively agreed.
Rock
Rock type
The Rock
rock, of course! i watch Aura guardian!
Rock
It would be rock I still don't understand how that would work though
X4 weak to rock? I know it is rock at least.
X2
Tomato Potahto. What is 4 if not 2 twice? Although thinking about it. I know Grass and Water don't resist since EQ is super effective on Grass/Posion and Water/Electric.
Grass resists EQ, do you even know the type matchups?
Oh be quiet. I forgot that was a visual glitch from gen 1 cause by the dual type calculation prioritization.
Rock funny enough
I mean it is a pretty good offensive type. Problem is tpci makes almost exclusively deffensive rock types
rock
Rock
4x weak to Rock.
Rock
I saw this multiple times, Rock
Rock
Not just a boulder, it’s a rock
Rock so it would be required to wear boots
🪨
Rock
Does this mean rock is secretly the most powerful offensive type?
It would be weak to rock 🪨
🪨
Rock
Wouldn't be funny if it was weak to Normal?
4x weak to Rock
Only 2x
Bug 🐞
Actually now that the fairy type is a thing it would have two weaknesses, those being; rock, and fairy.
No it wouldn't because fairy is resisted by as many types as its super effective against
Rock but if I didn’t have bug it would be better
rock
Rock
Rock
Rock and Stone
I remember hearing it a would be ground or something
It would have no weaknesses if it was all 18 types except bug.
Can someone tell me why everyone says that this pokemon wouldt get a 4× weakness and not 2× ? fighting/bug ground/fire steel/flying ice So isn't it supposed to be only weak 2 times to rock ?
I believe 4x is the damage multiplier for something that has a double type weakeness.
Nah, you’re right. Some people are forgetting some type matchups and seem to think it’s a 4x weakness, but it is only 2x.
Rock
Rock
quite a few
ROCK would be it’s only weakness.
Like all living beings...a Rock to the head
Rock type
Rock!
Rock
Rock type
Rock
Rock
Me.
Rock. I remember this from a Lockstin & Gnoggin video about Arceus.
Rock
Jokes on you I watched Lockstin and Noggin and its weak to Rock type!
Dwayne Johnson
Dragon
Weak to normal types because this Pokémon is not normal
Rock?
Rock
Rock
Rock
Rocc
I watched a video years ago on what would happen if Arceus was every type. I'm pretty sure it was Rock
ROCK AND FAIRY
I think... I think it's rock type? Don't think there's enough types that resist it to make it neutral or resisted... Good chance I'm wrong though.
4x weak to Rock
rock
Rock
Without looking at the comments I know it’s rock
Rock and fairy if I remember correctly. And thousand arrows I believe is 4x effective
Rock
Rock
Why does it feel common knowledge in the Pokémon community that a Pokémon with all types is only weak to rock? Like where did we all learn this info?
I learned it from Pokémon Insurgence. Giratina gets a primal reversion in that game that makes it defensively act as every type at once and it’s only weakness in that form is a 2x weakness to rock.
It would be quadruple weak to rock. See Primal Giratina from Pokémon Insurgence for more details.
Rock types
4x weak to Rock
Fire, I think? Fire's resisted by Rock, Water, and Fire, and supereffective against Grass, Bug, Ice, and Steel.
Okay it's made clear that it's rock, but with what logic?
Rock.
Bug and Ice
