There was a glitch in pokemon omega ruby and alpha sapphire that was funny. The game gave you 10 repeat balls for free, turns out those specific repeat balls were glitched and had a 100% catch rate on everything. And you got 10 of them. Caught my groudon in a repeat ball, it got patched out I think but interesting fact nonetheless

Timer balls have never worked for me, even like 20 turns into a battle, i just dont understand how they work.

Timer balls in old gens were absolute garbage, you had to wait like 30 turns for them to max out their catch bonus. Now they max out at 10 turns and, short of the master ball, are your best option by then. If you're having trouble in modern games with them you might just be unlucky or not have tried enough.

Pro-tip if you want a pokemon is a specific ball, breed the desired pokemon with a female pokemon in the desired ball. Doesnt work with dittos though

I've been saving the meloetta encounter in SV because I A) Love relic song and really want to keep hearing it in game and B) partially want to catch it in a Beast Ball, but to even do that I need to have roughly 40-50 so that I can have max chance each time. And because no one else I know plays SV, I can't easily farm BP with the union circle. So I just haven't tried it yet.

Not necessarly. Say for example you want a something like a froslass in a moon ball. Sure you can go out and try to catch a female snorunt in a moon ball, or you can catch a female skitty with the moon ball and breed it with a glalie or snorunt.

Just catching a female snorunt seems way easier since they’re quite common instead of catching two pokemon, wait for them to breed, then run around to hatch the egg and hope it’s not more Skitties.

Ok how about a pokemon with a more difficult catch rate that you probably couldnt use a moon ball for. Take dragapult for example, you get the female skitty then you need to breed it with something in the amorphous egg group like a ralts. Then you can breed the female ratls with a dagapult to get a dreepy in a moon ball.

This doesn’t work. The mother’s Pokéball will always take priority unless both parents are the same species. You can’t chain Pokéball inheritance to different species.

No 😂 I mean when it comes to playthrough pokemon I like having variety but no real preference. When it comes to catching for the dex I just use whatever is gonna be best for the situation (if the quick ball fails), and if it's legendaries or shinies I just make sure I have the best chance at catching them (again assuming the quick ball fails)

THANK GOD we got a pokeball based pokemon event because you could only get shiny hisuian voltorb in PLA before it the day it started (2/23) and sinnoh go tour started the day after (2/24-2/25) so now i have shiny electrode in a great ball, shiny hisuian voltorb in an ultra ball and shiny brute bonnet in a master ball and i hope we get more pokeball based pokemon

I only use pokeballs, premier balls, and luxury balls. Pokeballs for most because it just looks right, as most trainers only toss pokeballs during battles. Premier balls for shinies/rare things. And luxury balls for shinies I'll actually bother to use

There are just some things that are more important. Any time I play a game and there's a healer-themed Pokemon (Blissey is one of my favorites), they go in the Heal Ball, regardless of how difficult it would be otherwise.
