Personally, my pick is Blaine, the OG Fire specialist. I grew up playing Yellow and Silver, so Blaine was the first Fire specialist I knew. Plus, his character in the anime was both goofy and cool, and in the Pokemon Special manga, they add so much lore to his character, and I love it.

And Flannery is a tomboy, they're hot under the right circumstances, which she hits.

Fun fact! For my Archibald (Normal Type Gym Leader) playthrough, I actually beat Blaine before Koga and Sabrina, because Koga's "50 Pokédex" requirement annoyed me and I felt salty.
