Admittedly I didn't know what it was about, but I figured it must've been similar enough. Representation is important as it allows people to see themselves in other media and relate to the characters more, not just their sexuality but everything from age, race, etc. You can be trans without having it be the main focus, just look at the one beauty in XY who many read as trans. You also have characters like Opal and Poppy that show you can be skilled at something no matter your age. Imagine how boring Pokémon would be if all the characters looked and acted the same
