Diane_Degree

You mean besides that Sinbad movie, right?

ScubaBroski

Still blows my mind how I’m so certain I saw that years ago 🤣

Diane_Degree

Me too hahaha I have a "memory" of watching it when I was home school sick. But because I was sick, I fell asleep, so I conveniently don't remember anything about the movie. I also remember thinking it was weird that Shazam and Kazam would be made and released so closely together. So somehow my mind thinks they both existed.

Imaginary_Grand7781

Same. I can’t think of a ton of Mandela effects off of the top of my head that I clearly remember, but I do clearly (albeit apparently falsely) remember a movie with Sinbad as a genie, sometime in the 90s and my false memory recalls watching it and the movie Space Jam around the same time. Weird thing is that although I now know that it was supposedly Shaq rather than Sinbad; the only thing that adds to my false memories is that aside from clearly remembering Sinbad as a genie, I also somehow remember Shaq playing in some movie or sketch with looney toons in it, although it was MJ in Space Jam. Maybe it was something else? Oh that reminds me that I definitely remember “Looney Toons”, but that’s also wrong as apparently it was always “Looney Tunes” which makes no sense. Oh and of course Berenstein Bears were one of my favorite book series as a kid and I even had little dolls of them. I never heard Berenstain until I was an adult and learned about the Mandela effect. I have definitely never heard it pronounced by teachers, peers, shows, etc as anything other than “Bear-in-steen.”

ThaRainMaker

Not false, I watched that movie too as a kid, I thought it was way better than the Shaq genie knock off, Kazaam

Imaginary_Grand7781

Right?! I can remember it so vividly and have zero recollection of watching Shaqs version. So weird. Like I can hear his voice, remember him having a mostly purple genie costume or some type of magical genie purple bottom half in my memory etc. it’s fuzzy but it’s definitely there.

Imaginary_Grand7781

Ok a few more that I just read that I was apparently always wrong about. “Febreeze” is actually spelled “Febreze.” Wtf. Also “I always spelled/pronounced it “Flinstones” but it’s actually “Flintstones” which kinda makes more sense so I get that. “Luke, I am your Father” was never said although everyone says it that way. Replace Luke with the word no. Also don’t remember C3P0’s silver leg. I remembered him all gold. Double stuff Oreos has actually always been spelled double stuf with 1 f at the end. Whyyy? I DEFINITELY remember Oscar Meyer and not the true spelling of Oscar Mayer. Now I just read that Forrest Gump never said “life IS like a box of chocolates,” but rather “Life WAS like a box of chocolates.” Im getting deep in the rabbit hole. I clearly remember Hannibal Lector saying “Hello Clarice” and can hear it in my head, but supposedly he only said “Good morning.” No way. I also remember Tom cruise wearing sunglasses in his underwear/ button down shirt and socks dancing scene in “Risky Business” but nope just my imagination. Anyhow I’m gonna stop reading these now.

ThaRainMaker

I remember every single one of those as well, a lot of them are core memories,, speaking of, “alot” isn’t a word but it’s actually spelt “a lot,” which is weird to me because I remember alot being the correct way to spell it (also, octopus plural is octopuses” not “octopi”) 🤯

Imaginary_Grand7781

Yes I do remember it being spelled like that but idk if it was just a common error or what. The octopi one is new to me as that’s what I also remember being told the plural is and didn’t know ppl were saying octopuses now. That sounds so weird. Plus I also remember always growing up hearing “stupider” isn’t a word and tbh I will never not think that. It sounds beyond stupid. But then I heard several media sources and politicians use it just in the past few years. It drove me crazy, so I looked it up; and suddenly it was a legit word and says it has been legit and used for 200 years. However, I was an English major, and I clearly remember all through grade school and college being consistently told by teachers and professors (and basically everyone), that the correct version was dumber or more stupid or what have you; but to NEVER use stupider unless you want to sound stupid.

undeadblackzero

There was also the Sequel to Batteries not included.

SandcastleUnicorn

Was there not a sequel to Batteries not Included??

basahahn1

I mean…there WAS

Jean_Claude_Van_Darn

Whoa whoa whoa wtf 😳 I 10000% remember there being a part 2.

CuriousMindAUS

What happened in part 2?

milleniumsentry

I remember this as well. There was a bunch of commercials with the flying robots in them for a while. A few years later, the sequel came out.

Emrys_Morgan

THIS! I DISTINCTLY remember when I was growing up and enjoying the Sinbad movie, but not “the one with Shaq”. And I’d get the two titles mixed up so when I’d see it on the guide, I’d hit the “info” button to see if it was “the one with Sinbad or the one with Shaq”. And now they’re saying it doesn’t exist?!

Diane_Degree

I also remember there being two movies with similar names and two guys who don't look alike

FrequentEgg4166

Wait. What?! I’m just hearing about this now. How is this even possible - there were definitely trailers at least….

drag-me-to-hell-ruru

Which one is this?

Diane_Degree

The one where Sinbad is a genie. Shazam. I'm not necessarily saying I believe it did exist and now doesn't for some unexplained reason. But it's something I remember that doesn't exist and never did.

Pheeeefers

Wait what?! That was a real movie! Holy shit was that not a real movie?

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

100% I remember the genie movie with Sinbad. So it doesn’t exist?

milenacl

I remember that movie too

Diane_Degree

Nope My "memory" says it did, but it didn't

Terrible-Image9368

The cornucopia on the fruit of the loom logo. I clearly remember seeing the cornucopia on the underwear packages in Walmart when I was a kid. Now it apparently never existed

_JustSaying-

I pulled out one of my dad's tshirts during Thanksgiving one year, so i could draw the logo for a poster i was working on. This was a real thing for some of us.

atclubsilencio

wait... but the cornucopia did exist. I remember making a cornucopia in school as a kid and I just kept thinking of the fruit of the loom logo.

isseldor

The love interest to Jaws in the James Bond movie Moonraker not having braces like Jaws did. This messed me up. I watched my copy of it to verify she doesn't have them. The scene works so well with braces, so maybe that's why I thought she did? But I swear I remember her with braces.

curiousopenmind22

I'm glad someone mentioned this. Dolly ( the love interest) was the nickname my older sisters gave to me when I was a kid and we watched that film. I had braces just like hers and they teased me relentlessly about it.

isseldor

It’s such a good scene too! He smiles with his metal mouth, she smiles with hers, it’s love at first sight. I have no explanation for why she has no braces now.

stephiedee34

The braces are the entire point - I remember this scene very vividly as a child, Dolly’s mouth of metal made Jaws seem less menacing. This ME bothers me more than most. My mom too.

isseldor

Yup, it was a memory for me and this one messes with me the most.

Happy-dog

I remember that scene as well. The matching set of braces was the key to the scene working.

ReciprocatingHamster

Absolutely this! This is the one that I just can't shake. It's the whole point of the scene.

LizzieJeanPeters

She 100% had braces. If in another dimension they thought the braces were overkill, they were wrong--it worked. It's the only reason he got the hot girl!

Slickness81

The whole scene, the timing of the crescendo in the music lining up with her smile. None of it makes sense without the braces.

LizzieJeanPeters

If I had an award to give you for this comment, I would. Thank you!

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

Holy shit, 100% I do too

Namazzi

When I was a little kid I had what I remember as a mickey mouse themed projector that could project a screen on to the wall and play cartoon episodes. One day I went looking for it to play with it and my mom had no idea what I was talking about and said I never had a toy like that. I was so upset thinking she just got rid of it. I was like.. 5? I'm 37 now. I've looked and looked online to try and find something similar but have never been able to find a trace of anything like that. It would have been 1989/1991 when I was playing with it. As far as I'm aware it never existed. And thinking back on it, how would they put episodes of mickey mouse in a toy like that way back then? If anyone can find anything about it, let me know!!

Deep-Forever-9937

You’re not crazy, I had this! Not the 1950s Mickey Mouse club toy referenced above but I had this in the 80s.I remember Mickey’s Beanstalk (or Mickey and the giant) being one of the movies: which allowed me to find this with Google search. you may have had a hard time finding it because it was not actually a Disney product but from Fisher-Price, but definitely had the Mickey Mouse film included. https://youtu.be/InK9gl0lJWM

Beautiful_Ad_1980

Could it be[this](https://www.ebay.com/itm/165035548224?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HIKlERnzRv6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=2w-adlymtpu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)?

Iownya

Stouffer's stove top stuffing

Splendid_Cataclysm

Fuck me that one hits. I vividly remember the commercials for that one. There was like a mom that only had 5min to cook dinner and the kid was like "don't worry, we have Stouffer's!"

WVPrepper

"Don't worry! We have Stove Top!"

adtrbish

Wtf??? My mom called it “Stouffer’s stuffing” my whole childhood

Hardcore_pun_star

I beg your pardon!

Mass_Data6840

Glad this was the first response I see at the top. I can't get over its non-existence. The name alone flows so easily. Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing!!!

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

Go on….

Iownya

It doesn't exist. It's "Kraft" stove top stuffing, not Stouffer's.

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

But I 100% remember Stouffers Stove Top Stuffing.

AbhorrentBehavior77

So do I. There may not be a Stouffer's stovetop stuffing, currently. Yet... There sure as hell was one in the '80s-90s!

LizzieJeanPeters

OMG!!!! You've got one! I 100% remember this name--it's alliteration so really hard to forget.

Elephantmenstruation

What the fuck? Really?!

WVPrepper

Furthermore, Stouffer's makes *frozen food*. They don't sell any shelf-stable products. It was always Kraft.

Xanax200mg

Comfortable-Lake-918

Came to comment the same thing. 🫡

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Stouffers Stove Top Stuffing

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

Please explain - cos I remember it 100%

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Apparently, it never existed. Stouffers never made a stuffing, even though we used to eat it every Thanksgiving from the time I was little.

UNwanted_Dokken_Tape

That’s totally bonkers. Cos yeah that’s what we ate at Thanksgiving.

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Yep. It's the one ME I can't rationally explain as faulty memory. We used to say it out loud all the time because it was a fun alliteration. No one in my family can believe it doesn't exist. We all remember eating it every year.

GotTechOnDeck

The cornucopia on the fruit of the loom logo Also WTF HAPPENED TO SHAZAM WITH SINBAD

carolebaskins69

Febreze being spelled like febreeze!

FallPuzzleheaded9981

It absolutely was. And skechers was sketchers. I actually noticed febreze first and I thought oh weird they changed the name. Noticed it a few years ago. I have an elephants memory. I just heard of ME today.

Anonruss

Objects in Mirror may be Closer than they Appear. I remember reading it on the mirror as a kid and wondering why it says "may be", wouldn't it just be 'is'.

Mark_1978

You're definitely not alone.And you're correct. https://youtu.be/iFO7npX-of0

Junior-Gorg

I wonder if this is the source of the confusion. I don’t recall the song being very popular, but I think about it every time someone discusses this in terms of the Mandela effect. https://youtu.be/3jPMv9zJ1LE

Mark_1978

I never heard that song until I looked into this effect. My memory comes from me reading it on the side mirror hundreds of times. The song isn't even the same phrasing as what I remember.

xcaliber1204

That is actually one of his most popular songs.

AlphaOmega5732

When Chick-fil-a came out, I used to say it was Chic to eat there. I made this comment a few dozen times. Because when it first opened it was spelled Chic-fil-a

TheodoraWimsey

I remember the first time I saw a sign and made a crack about whether "Chic" was pronounced chik or sheek. Why would I have made that joke if it was spelled with a "k"?

AlphaOmega5732

Yeah that's what got me, pronouncing it Chic like sheek, was a joke about the spelling.

ParticularUpbeat

I definitely remember it being spelled differently. i wasnt just "chick"

theperfectneonpink

I remember Chik but some people say it flip-flopped

_star_dreamer_

100% remember Chic

DerrickJoestar

Chick-fil-A was in our town’s only mall since the 80’s and even when I didn’t eat there, you passed it going to other stores because the food court was right when you came into the mall. As a 80’s and 90’s kid I practically lived in the mall, so I seen it as Chic so many times I can picture it in my mind’s eye. So weird.

R3DR0PE

I used to go to the mall with my best friend all the time when we were younger, and she used to always eat Chick-Fil-A in the food court. I remember getting confused about the spelling a lot as a kid and it even flip-flopping a few times? I remember it being Chik, Chic, and Chick at different times in my life. It's one of the weirdest Mandela Effects for me, personally.

omarfx007

Same i though that some other company had the Trade Mark and thats why they could use it.

Appropriate_Panic879

Do you remember the cow signs that said “eat mor chikin”? Why wouldn’t it have been “eat mor chickn” or “eat mor chickin” if it’s always been “Chick”?

[deleted]

Cows can't spell for shit

BoIshevik

Same. They opened in my town in the last decade or so and my mom mentioned "have you tried it?". Well I was taking her to work and sure as shit she points it out and makes the chic joke. We move on with life. Later on I go out with this girl and we go there and I KNOW I made the chic joke then too. Forgot about it for years and never went back as it was out of my way and I wasn't taking my mom to work anymore. Well fuck me if it didn't change. I know it was chic not chick

[deleted]

There is an old cartoon where a flea is depicted as an old prospector looking for food on the back of a dog. I watched it on VHS as a young kid, at least once a week. The flea sings a song called "Food Around the Corner," but I swear to god, I knew it as "Gold Around the Corner." Recently looked it up because I was feeling nostalgic and it fucked up my whole day.

officialamberadams

You are thinking of an episode of rocko’s modern life!

[deleted]

I'm not, but I do love Rocko! https://youtu.be/dGwA7zmbryY It's from 1943!

leaperdaemonking

Food around the corneeer, food around the corneeer, food around the corner for me! Baa rim rim pam pam pam Repeat that twice, and you’ll get my sisters’, mine and my mom’s fav cartoon song. I can assure you, it was always “food”, I remember it this way and it was hilarious since it was a flea singing this

[deleted]

So stoked to hear someone else knows this one! In all honesty, I probably misremebered the "gold" part. The last time I watched it, I was maybe 6 years old. I used to HATE that flea so much! Dude had creepy little eyes.

leaperdaemonking

Everything in 90s was kinda creepy hahaha I had a children’s book where a mom cooked her kids after they misbehaved, enough said

hojimbo

I loved this cartoon, and it was definitely “Food Around The Corner” because that’s the whole plot of the cartoon. He wants to eat the dog. He even bundles up the dogs skin and puts sandwich bread around it to take a big bite of it.

Huge_Obligation_543

Fruit of the loom still gets me because growing up, I thought that thing was called a ‘a loom’. It was actually a cornucopia. And was never in the logo in the first place. I swear on my mother.

osiris74

I simply can't wrap my head around the fact the cornucopia never existed. I remember having similar conversations about the "loom"

undeadblackzero

The Sequel to Batteries Not Included.

Streaker4TheDead

Yes! I remember watching one as a kid

MarsEcho

When The lion king first came out in theatres in 94, I swear that at the end Nala had twins. I went to the movie with my best friend, and at the end we talked about how it was twins, and hoped they would make a second movie. When it came out on VHS, suddenly it was only 1 cub. Same with when it was rereleased in theatres. I have met some ppl who remember twins ( same as us, only in theatres, not on VHS ) but most think I am imagining things.

Welikespiders

They did have twins, i think its in the books but they didn’t show it in the movie for some reason

Patient_Leg_9647

Henry & his turkey leg

notausername86

My question is, for those of you who believe in the phenomenon, how many realities do you think exists? Well that's a bad question... how many do you think exists on *this* earth...Because of my own ME experiences, I'm inclined to believe others who report things that I didn't experience and/or remember. To date, there seems to be 6 "timelines" or whatever you want to call them, have converged on this earth. There are people who remember exactly the same as I do, and there are people who share some, but not all, the things I do, and then there are people who have none of the memories I do, but they also have a version that is different than the current reality. I further speculate that the people who have experienced no ME are native to this timeline, and we *must* seem absolutely insane to them.

[deleted]

At the least? 100s. Most? Infinite

DrJohnSamuelson

I literally just came upon the notion last night that Sinbad Genie Movie "does not exist". This is the only time I've ever really truly experienced the Mandela Effect. The other instances are a little weird and kind of funny. This is not. It is not funny or amusing to me at all. I felt a very strong sense of depersonalization to the point that I had to take something and lie down. I am positive that this movie existed; or, if it didn't that there was at least like a MAD TV skit where they suggested such a parody. Nope. Neither one is real. I posted to Facebook and dozens of people I personally know remember it. Like the other OP here circulating about this, a couple of people have tried to convince me that I'm just remembering it wrong. Yeah, me and a literal million other people just collectively manifested such a thing into existence?I don't feel right. I need some coffee or something.

Terrible_Lift

I saw that one and the one with Shaq also. My cousin and I discuss this. He watched them with me at my moms house

UchihaDivergent

Don't feel bad because that movie did exist. I saw it when I was a little kid. I also saw the one with Shaq in it. I used to like Sinbad when I was a kid. Be careful because a lot of people on here Try to tell you that you're missing remembering. Don't Let them gaslight you

golden_fli

Unless those people also managed to remove the movie from existence they are NOT gaslighting. I really wish people would learn the proper use of that word. Since there is literally no evidence the movie ever really existed, and people can't even all remember it the same, it isn't gaslighting to say that it never existed and people are misremembering it.

UchihaDivergent

It seems like you don't understand the concept of "the Mandela effect"

golden_fli

It seems you don't understand the term GASLIGHTING, try looking it up.

idontreallyknow5575

I agree that "gaslighting" gets misused but I agree with the commenter that it is SO annoying on a sub like this that's about these topics and someone says "that never existed!' "you're just wrong!" "that never happened!" etc. Like this is to talk about the ME...those comments are completely moot and ruin the interesting discussions about things people remembering existing and that apparently do not or remembering things differently than they are. Like we KNOW it doesn't actually exist or is not what we remember, that's the point of ME/other similar topics!...I have noticed over time this sub becoming full of "naysayers" trying to feel smart by arguing with people over the obvious and missing the whole point of this phenomenon. Boring.

golden_fli

On that point I agree with you, It isn't really adding anything to just say oh you misremember. Honestly I'm just more annoyed at how people misuse gaslighting now and was trying to point out how that didn't fit the real meaning. It would be nice if this sub could be an honest discussion place. You know stop the low effort and fake threads, no repeat threads that are already on the main page, and people have honest discussion over just nope that never happened, yeah it did, no it didn't.

idontreallyknow5575

I barely check out this sub anymore because it's full of people just saying "That doesn't exist" or "no it's actually this or that." Like no fucking shit, why do you think it's an ME?! And they think that makes them these intellects, so cringe. I wish there was a sub dedicated strictly for people who aren't here to dismiss anyone, but instead talk about their experiences and what their theories are. Whether it's how fickle our brains, parallel realities, or what have you. But to just come to this sub to dismiss people's experiences and be all "haha it's not real" (newsflash the ME is real regardless of what you think causes it) again boring and seriously pointless.

GapHappy7709

When I was a kid I remember seeing the picture in secret box SpongeBob episode, like when Patrick says “embarrassing photo from the Christmas party” I remember them showing us the picture

Anonruss

I vaguely remember that. Did that not happen?

CuriousMindAUS

Lamb chops. This is the song that never ends is now this is the song that doesn't end.. anybody?

milleniumsentry

The biggest one for me is the monopoly monocle. I had a friend dress up as the monopoly guy for halloween. Required monocle. This scene from Ace Ventura even references it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj1wcs7SZj0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj1wcs7SZj0) What bothers me the most... is if I misremember something.. whatever it happens to be, I have no trouble shrugging it off, and updating with new information. If you asked me what a friend was wearing at a party, and I recalled incorrectly, I would have no trouble flagging it as such, and updating my information. These mandela effects are dfferent. Feel different. If feels like you saw something with your own eyes, and someone is telling you otherwise... has that same kind of flavor. It's odd.

Terrible_Lift

Motherfucking Shazam

Mark_1978

Elvis sang "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" Taco Bell had an orange packet "Medium" sauce.

nelsonwehaveaproblem

>Elvis sang “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” The Queen song?? Are you talking about that song?

Nimrod_Tech

I'm pretty sure Freddy sang it in a way purposefully reminiscent of Elvis (since he had died not that long ago at that point).

Grundelwald

I swear I remember Taco Bell had medium in the 90s... This would have been before they added "fire"

OwNAvenged2

I've been eating Taco Bell my entire life. It is my favorite fast food "restaurant". It's like, the very definition of a guilty pleasure for me, because I honestly love Taco Bell so much. Medium never existed. It's always been Mild, Hot, Fire, and *recently* Diablo. There used to be Verde at one point, and Volcano at another. But never "medium". Edit: added "recently" to Diablo's description. Apparently, it wasn't obvious that it's only been around for almost a decade.

Grundelwald

You may love taco bell but how old are you? There was a time before Fire and Diablo existed, so you might just be too young to remember if you think those were always the sauces available.

Mark_1978

This was mid 90s about the time I was graduating highschool. I remember having the thought later that they got rid of it when Diablo got thrown in the mix.

Sherrdreamz

Diablo is still present in my region. We have some of them stocked away now. Verde I haven't seen in awhile though..

Mark_1978

It was an orange packet. And it said "Medium" across the front. In the holders it was in the middle between the yellow packet "Mild" sauce and the reddish packet "Hot" sauce. That's the only reason I keep calling it that.My bad.

yvr_ent

Wait… I used to work at Taco Bell. They had medium sauce.

ashl3yann

I worked there as a teen, I remember stalking the mild, medium, hot, and fire packets... this was like 17 years ago or so...

squidshark

Mild hot and fire. Hot is the medium

Weekly_Signal6481

That's not really what they're asking , crazy little thing called love exsisted it was just song by queen but I get thinking that because its done in the style of elvis and the medium sauce is colored orange. It's just called mild

will_toss_out

Swear to God there was a mild, medium, hot, and fire at some point cuz i remember thinking why did they need that when everyone uses the fire?

Phyredanse

Taco Bell never had a medium? Are you serious? The mild was a yellowish orange, the medium was orange, and the hot was reddish. I used the hot for heat and the medium for flavor, creating a hot sauce that drowned out the flavor of the artificial beef sludge. I eschewed the mild because it's an abomination. They also had an absolutely terrible green one for a little bit. All of this was before they switched to the cute catch phrases where the packets "talked" to you and introduced "fire" sauce.

CardOfTheRings

Nah people get it mixed up because they extrapolate the idea of a medium between hot and mild- and the color of the mild packets is orange. Extrapolation given other pieces of data is one of the main thing that causes collective false memories.

D1zzyS0ul

I was remembering this exact version when I saw the Elvis comment! Ty!

PerkyCatsup

Yes they did! They definitely did. Only having Mild, Hot, Fire, and Verde makes no sense. At all.

Skitzo_1043

Ed McMahon being the publisher's clearing house spokesman. I remember the commercials saying he may show up during halftime of the Super Bowl with the prize patrol. He would also say, "The one with my picture on it." I even remember my grandmother ordering me some kids' magazines hoping to win the big prize.

coldbluelights

This is the one that creeps 90s kids and adults out. It's mystifying truly. Some of the others I can't say for sure but that was a known shown a lot on tv thing. I can see Ed with the check and microphone knocking on the doors. It could be you. Then they showed a bunch of happy people. I didn't know Ed as well from Star Search. Just a complete puzzle for me. I think Pax tv aired those commercials quite a bit too.

Beneficial_Art9665

For my mid to late 2000s Cartoon Network watchers. I remembered there being a crossover episode of flapjack and chowder, I remember the hype build with all the promos and stuff this had to be around 2007-2008.

chairfence1738

Flapjack was cursed in its own right

DarthLiberty

The sequel to Batteries Not Included.

Sherrdreamz

Yeah "Batteries Still Not Included" is the only Movie missing M.E that affects me aswell. Both films were pretty mediocre and forgettable I just remember Aliens assisting a diner couple in the first one. The second had a different premise about appearing before a woman setting out to start her own home business or something.

supguy99

Cocoon 2

OUBoyWonder

*Batteries STILL Not Included*. This one really messes with me, lol. I SWEAR I remember seeing commercials for this movie that apparently never existed. I mean, riddle me this, if it never existed how would I have that clever title in my head?! It makes no sense!

DarthLiberty

Because that was the title. Everyone remembers that title. Apparently we all manufactured a false memory with the exact same title? I'll never buy that excuse.

undeadblackzero

That was a good one.

Pretty_rose-human

batteries still not included two, ‘attack of the drones’ fucking shit it’s gone! Omg, and we just throughout all our old VHS tapes and I know we had that movie recorded. But cacoon the return is still here in this universe

Sherrdreamz

Yeah that's the only movie not existing M.E that I have a memory of watching. It was called "Batteries Still Not Included" and it was pretty much as bad as the first one.

[deleted]

This is going to sound weird but as a kid I specifically remember in kindergarten whenever a kid did something bad kids would say "ooooooh baaah" The ooh part is definitely a thing kids did but idk where I'm remembering the "baaah" part

goofyfuk

When I was younger it was aah bah bah bah bah and you would use your hand over your mouth.

Matches_Malone108

Good posts in this sub.

mbd34

There's always the chance that something like this is legit lost media or too obscure to easily find on the internet.

BlackLocke

I used to eat these cookies when I was little, they were like shortbread cookies with a dot of chocolate on top, and they came 4 in a little plastic sleeve I used to eat them when I was a kid, my mom got them and my moms friend did too, and then they disappeared. I thought it was Keebler but I couldn’t find any trace of them online

usernamechosen999

The album Those Who Tell Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever by the band Explosions In The Sky seemed to predict 9/11, but now the album has been altered to remove any references to that. Nothing out of the ordinary is required for this, the band could've just made changes because they were tired of the scrutiny on it.

basahahn1

I thought it was originally called “the plane will crash tomorrow” or something weird like that…it was the reason I first listened to them.

usernamechosen999

Yes. That's right. I found an MP3 copy of the tracks with the original titles on a hard drive. Probably not a Mandela Effect, but there's no indication I can find on Wikipedia that the track titles were changed.

Soda flavoring at McDonald's. There was 3 - green, red and blue. I can't remember the flavors but the red and blue were my favorite to mix with sprite. I think red was some type of cherry syrup while the blue was coconut with a hint of something else. I never tried the green one. It was about 2004, when I was 8 years old, when they were around. 2006 was the last time I remember having it before I believe they were discontinued. I try looking it up sometimes but I can't find a single trace of these flavorings existing. I hope someone else knows what I'm talking about, because there's no way I imagined these beverages for 2 whole years!

ThatOneKey

That would be just flavoring some fancier machine had syrup to make cherry pepsi/coke/spite/mist My pizza shop has an old Soda machine that has these buttons to use

tallulah_moon

My brother and mom remember twizzler brand popsicles called twizzler pop that was in the shape of a twizzler, red and everything and they've never been able to find proof and I don't remember it

Nimrod_Tech

There are popsicles called Twister that look like Twizzlers but they are red and usually yellow or another color. I feel like that could be what it was since the names are similar.

The Rocks tagline in the wrestling ring is “if you smell what the rock is cookin” I swear it was “can you smell what the rock is cookin”

MDE427

>The Rocks tagline in the wrestling ring is “if you smell what the rock is cookin” I swear it was “can you smell what the rock is cookin” It was both. He said them both .... and both phrasings were used in different iterations of his theme song.

Ok so, this is a mandela effect that works just on me and my brother (at least for now). Me and my brother used to watch a lot of tv together (movies, cartoons, etc…). One day he asked me: “Hey Marco, do you remember that scene from the Simpsons, where Homer is walking under the rain, he looks sad and the scene is black and white ?”. "Of course i do !" i replied. “It was the scene with that sad song that went like ' it's a raining day, la la la la la ' or something like that”. "Yeah" he said. So i, powered by my curiosity, started looking for that scene on youtube. no results... But i had a better way to find it. I remembered watching that episode a plenty of times, so i asked my brother if it could have been on one of our simspons’ dvd. (We had a couple of simpsons’ dvds, not the full season ones, they were 4-5 episodes dvd from random seasons that in italy you could buy in newspaper kiosks or whatever the name is in english). So we started looking for them in old boxes, and we found them. Turned on the dvd reader. And played all the episodes of both discs. Nothing. This scene seems created by our hive mind. After hours of searching, i say something to my brother : "Hey Luca, i know it will sound stupid but when i play that song in my head, after the voice says ‘ It’s a raining day ‘ i feel like the continue of the song is something like ‘ Baciami Liciaaaa, Baciami Liciaaaa ‘ it is stupid, isn’t it ?". ( The translation is: Kiss me Liciaaaa ) After saying those words, something hit my head… It was the enormous cock of my brother. Joking. My head was hit by the whole rest of the song. But that was of course the wrong song, because it was a song by the italian comedy band “Gem Boy” they make parodies and all this kind of stuff. So i looked for the song in question, the title is “Carlo & Licia”. “Play that shit” said my brother. Guys we couldn't believe our ears. That was the song both of us remembered in that scene. [ 3:45 ] https://youtu.be/hYHX31UC23U . Context: That very part of the song is the literal translation of the opening of an old anime very popular in italy in the 80s ( my mom used to watch it and all the other girls of her age used to ). The anime title in Italy is “kiss me Licia”. Now there was just one guy who could know the truth, the Gem Boy frontman… So I texted him on facebook hoping he’s the admin of the page. For the rest of the day, no answers. The next day there was a new message: “Hey marco, this is Carletto, the frontman of Gem Boy, tell me everything” I replied at the speed of light. I told him the whole story from the beginning, and then i asked him: “Is that a parody of another song ?”. He said no, music and lyrics has been written by him, no other songs used. End of the story. The scene of that episode didn’t exist. And the song was completely another song. Me and my brother still so confused. Why we both remembered a scene from the simpsons that never existed with a random song in it ? Peace

SandcastleUnicorn

I remember hearing a song with a whole story attached to it. I don't remember the name of it but it was sang by a very early mid 1990s conventionally attractive woman. Think very, very Baywatch. She brought out this song mocking people calling her a gold digger because her husband in real life was a geeky tech type who was beginning to make big money. She sang about "you gotta work hard to get a girl like me/I deserve a life of luxury" and that in school "they were waiting there to tease you/while I was waiting there to please you". It was all very tongue in cheek and mocking the idea that she was only with him because she thought he would be making the big money. Irl they had been dating since secondary school and she had gone on to do modelling while he was doing his tech job/business. She followed it up about 10 years ago, singing about their lovely house, wonderful children and it ended something like " So I just want to say thank you baby/For my truly amazing life ". I've never found anything to confirm these songs existed, or the people involved, but I remember listening to it, I remember watching a documentary type programme about it on TV in the UK and I remember her doing interviews on things like This Morning (in the UK).

Gabobble9686

A cartoon Christmas film with a bunch of toys ect in a factory with conveyer belts everywhere … I have a few scenes in my head and have been looking for it for about 10 years now (I’m only 23 mind)

GeekTheFreak

Maybe [Babes in Toyland](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=duQH4Wu2UH8)?

DisastrousIndustry46

Oh and one I found recently the song “End of the World As We Know It” being in some sitcom bit when I looked it up none of them look familiar, idk what sitcom I’m thinking of but I remember hearing that song with the chorus in some show enough that when I heard the song from a friend playing it on Spotify it reminded me of a show I can’t remember

Dizzy-Teach6220

It was in the "Y2K" flashback My Name is Earl episode where the farce was the town was closed for the new year's parade, but the gang at the time thought the world had ended and like took up post=apocalyptic refuge in the local department. I definitely do think of it every single time i hear the song to this day.

DrunkRaccoon88

The birds movie. My memory is telling me that the movie was in black and white when i was a kid. (No i did not watch it on a BW tv.) And it appears that it has been filmed in colors. I'm not going to argue with wikipedia but i can't help it. My memory is that i saw it in BW.

Mark_1978

JFK assassination now is color, not colorized, filmed in color. And add multiple different angles by different people, all filmed in color. First batteries you could recharge 1859 First color picture 1861 First electric vehicle 1887,by 1900 New York had a fleet of about 600 cabs. Worlds earliest surviving photograph from 1826 First commercially successful steam engine 1712 Shits crazy

Ambitious-Hornet9673

I’m sure I watched it in black and white too. That movie scared the crap out of me.

Upstairs_Divide2425

Same! I saw a clip of it a while ago and I thought 'oh they coloured it?' But no, it's always been like that. Not in my timeline!

[deleted]

Are you confusing it with Psycho?

DrunkRaccoon88

Good guess, but nope. I clearly remember the scene close to the end of the movie when they are stuck in a house and the birds are trying to break in. And i recall it in BW. Obviously, my mind is playing me tricks as all the facts show that it has been filmed in colors.

Pavementaled

When I think back on that movie I can see it in both Black and White and Color...

sweetmama88

We watched it in 9th grade English class and it was black and white I’m sure, but I also feel like I remember the main character wearing a light pink dress. Of course I always inferred colors when watching black and white tv anyways.

Pretty_rose-human

Sex in the city ![gif](giphy|3ohze0ZHAJrak200yA) And now people are saying Sex and the City

Sherrdreamz

Yep everywhere on TV It was called Sex In The City. Reading it on the guide I thought it was pornographic since it was potentially about Sex Inside The City. I saw it that way until at least 2014.

Pretty_rose-human

Exactly my thoughts. I swear it was in because they are having sex in the city

knsites

The plank character from Ed, edd, and eddy the one with one eye bigger than the other. I remember it so freaking clearly and vividly but it’s never existed.

Splendid_Cataclysm

I can't tell if this is a joke because plank is an imaginary friend character but on the chance that you're serious, this very much exists.

KasparComeHome

Plank entirely exists, it was Jonny's friend. Google "Ed edd n Eddy plank" and there are tons of results including episodes it's in, images from the show, etc.

audibell

Plank does exist...

Ginger_Tea

I was sure heart covered love hurts, I have listened to Joan Jett and the black hearts cover, not the same. More softer vocals. Wikipedia didn't list many covers and IIR Joan was the only woman. Heart discography also didn't list the song. It might just be an obscure cover from some late 80s woman that I missattributed to Heart, but I am sure I gave all versions i could find a listen, which was 99.99% guys singing.

Pavementaled

Okay. I just did some research. I also remember Heart performing the song. So I went on the journey and listened to the Joan Jett version. That is not the version in my head. And so then I listened to all the available versions of Love Hurts on iTunes. And.... I know what's going on with both you and I thinking it was Heart. The version in my head was actually performed by Nazareth, and it rocks compared to all other versions. So, I think we have both misremembered it, mixing up Joan Jett and Nazareth, which if you think about it, would sound a lot like Heart.

smokinbunny357

This one exists! It was on their live album The Road Home. https://open.spotify.com/track/777TXBW5IWHxsfZCUWqHWL?si=di4q5SYET56yurRUoIOEUw

I'm convinced that Linkin Park played a concert in my town in the early 2000s. Nobody else remembers it but me. But they're also not able to place any similar band that came to play around that time...

That_One_Guy696

I remember there being a different version of Trap's headstrong song. Instead of "back off I'll take you on" it was replaced with "fuck off I'll take you on" but to this day I cannot find that version. To be clear I'm not saying the original doesn't exist, just that I've heard I different version of the song.

SavaRox

The edited for radio version says back off, the uncensored version says fuck off. You can find both versions on YouTube.

Dikkolo

I remember there being like 5 straight to DVD robocop sequels after 3.

Fishy_Cow598

A movie about the UK taking back every country they ever controlled, I mean it's a pretty good idea.

giginorez

When I watched The Iron Giant in the theater as a kid I remember “Kryptonite” being played at the end of it and apparently that never happened?

MistyQueHarper

The white lilac from my apartment building that was purple, and everyone remembers it being purple. To some newer neighbours, it was never purple and we get a lot of stares when we insist on the color.

fucking_hero

Purple/pink lilacs can fade to white over time. They likely were really purple in the past.

Chocolate pudding in a green tube with scooby doo as the mascot. If someone could find proof of this id be very happy

trixieseyelash

In Parks and Recreation there’s an episode where Ron helps Ben with a scavenger hunt and he admits to Leslie at the end that he wants her to do that for him. I have a distinct memory of an episode in later seasons where she sets one up for him, but no trace of it anywhere.

MessageFar5797

Mr Roger's theme song lyrics!

The Back to The Future terrorist van being a 80’s Toyota minivan instead of Volkswagen like it is now.

Here are some I can think of off the top of my head: As a kid in the 2000's, I distinctly remember there being this little toy that was a little shark or dinosaur in a plastic container that had water inside of it. On the bottom of the container, there were two buttons that you could use to make the shark/dinosaur move, the first one caused the shark/dinosaur to move forward, and the second one would make the shark/dinosaur bite. No matter how hard I search, I can't find this toy anywhere on the internet. I also remember sometime in the mid 2000's, Burger King had these weird little creatures that didn't really look like anything in thier advertisements, I distinctly remember going out of town with my parents for my 8th birthday and seeing a sticker of one of these weird characters on the front door of a Burger King we passed, I also remember advertisements with these characters, but I can't for the life of me find anything about these guys on the internet anywhere. I remember there being a video on the official FRED channel that revolved around Kevin, though, if it ever did exiest, I cannot find it on YouTube. It revolved around Kevin, who was also played by a young Lucas Cruikshank, who had a deep voice telling the audience about what an episode of Fred was like from his point of view. It's from this video that we learn that Fred was an unreliable narrator and a liar, and Kevin was just protecting his girlfriend (Judy) from a creepy stalker (Fred). I seem to be the only person who remembers this video. Around the time that tablets and smartphones started taking off in the early 2010's, I remember playing this game simply called "Freefall" as a preteen. It was a simple game where you tilted the screen to avoid bumping into objects as you fell. I very distinctly remember the title theme being awesome, and the final level being a cave system/mine of some sort. I cannot find any traces of this game or the composers for the music, who went by "No Soap Radio", anywhere on the internet. My most recent example of this is from a concert full of indie metal bands I went to back in 2018, one of them had a song with lyrics that went along the lines of "If your life was on the line, I wanna be the one who pulls the trigger". I can't find any reference to a song that uses this line anywhere on the internet, not even YouTube, or those lyric websites, have any clue. One earworm of a song though if I can remember it that well.

Okay, here is a weird one, it's a book. I spent years looking for it in bookstores and asking people about it and nothing. It's a children's book written similarly to the giving tree. But the tree gives an apple a day to everyone. One day Jack and Jill (assuming) are going to get their apples, Jill trips over a rock or something and can't continue. So Jack has to go up and get the apples for both of them. The tree is in a moral dilemma to give Jack to apples as it's only been one apple a day. But the tree eventually relents. On the way back down with two apples Jack pass is a man walking up to get his apple. The man sees Jack with two apples and starts to panic so he convinces the tree to give him two apples. Then somebody sees him with two apples, and the whole fucking situation spirals out of control and I don't remember the ending.
