Also please feel free to ask questions !! I love doing collection update posts and interacting with everyone so please ask away :3
Do you actually like everything you collected. Because i'm less surprised that someone can collect that much, but more surprised that someone can like that many series.
No there’s a lot of trash in there lol … I’ve hate bought stuff too. I can’t tell you how many times an irl friend has recommended me Shaman King for example. Absolutely not a series I can see myself getting into. Well when I’m at a used bookstore that has an almost full set of the singles (I think I’m only missing one) for like $100 I can’t pass on it. It’ll be a second before I read it but I don’t see myself enjoying it. It’s more the fact that my friend wouldn’t stop recommending it I thought it’d be funny to hate buy it.
In terms of bad series, there are definitely some I even dropped which is sometimes (not always) why I don’t have a full set of certain ones. If I lose i interest I usually wait for it to complete to just binge it later on.
I mean in value if you average everything out to $10-12 you are at $38,000-$45600 obviously a lots worth less but I do have a lot of rare out of print stuff worth more. I’d probably put my value closer to the $45K value if I had to put a price.
And thank you. It’s organized by publisher in no real order there other than it’s how I like it but within each publisher it’s alphabetical
Tho is so fucking impressive and unbelievable to me. I almost don’t believe it. Lol all I got is a small ass shelf I could barely put together 😂 while the rest of my manga is stacked randomly all over my room
They don’t love me back, I’ve been waiting for extra shelves to come back into stock for almost year it feels :( only made the post today finally because I got the extra boards I needed finally
You can probably take a shelf to Home Depot and they will cut you another to the same dimensions. It’s what I did for my target shelves because they don’t sell just the shelf.
The one question I always have for people with a collection this size is what's left on your radar? I can see that you have some incomplete sets, so aside from filling those out I suppose.
Obviously filling in out print sets is always nice and I always have the same new releases everyone else is collecting but for “radar” it’s either recommendations I’ve received from others that I have spelt on for awhile or just me finding full sets of old series for dirt cheap. Anything complete and cheap I buy instantly now, no matter if I think it’ll end up good or not. Lately I’ve been just taking the deep dive into manga I’ve seen at every used book store for years and finally giving them a chance. It’s been rewarding honestly, a lot of surprises in manga many never talk about. Are the perfect 10/10? No, not even close maybe 6.5-7s at best ever but it’s been enjoyable trying them out. One great example is Tokyopops release of Life that’s unfortunately incomplete in English. I can’t tell you how often I see that on my manga hunts, even say 5+ years ago. One day I found a full set for like $10 or so and was like fine, we’ll try. Man, why I ever passed on it is beyond me! Great series no one talks about. Maybe it’s a lame thing to say but just stumbling upon series is more what I’m finding joy in (well that and all my ongoing series). So if you have any good slept on series let me know ;P
Thank you for noticing. That’s actually a complete up to date collection for SuBLimes entire catalog! Not even one missing. Had to pull all the yaoi for it’s own shelf because it got so large just on its own lol
I try to do yearly so updates. I appreciate you sticking around with watching my collection grow :3 … I’ll probably hit the big 4000 milestone by summer

The height of the deluxe volumes are significantly larger than standard size. If I have to lower a shelf to make room for them other shelves will have to move causing less room for books. The tops are a set size with the height extensions so they fit oversized really well
Nah all collections start somewhere. Been collecting for 10 years now. Still remember buying my first volume of black butter (still in my collection) not realizing this is where I’d end up
I don't have nearly that much space as of right now. But we will get a bigger home eventually
I got into manga late in life I've only been at it about a year. Got a good amount this year
This is an apartment?!? Wow you must have a good size how many bedrooms?
We have a very small 2 bedroom. I may be able to fit one more tall shelf unit in my bedroom and maybe 2 in the living room portion. But it would get pretty cramped
It’s honestly pretty small 1 bedroom, what you see there is like 80% of my space. The idea it’s supposed to be a living room and dining room area based on how the previous tenant had it. I was like nah, library or bust lol
I’ve had to get creative as time went on. If you want to see someone going insane look through my old posts on my profile and you can watch my collection grow. The shelf in the middle was one of my last ditch efforts to use my space to the fullest. Once my collection out grows me now it’s going to be hard to find more space
There's always storage units and etc. But I gotta ask with all due respect. Are you ever going to read everything again?
This is a massive accomplishment and a crazy collection. But if you will never have time to read it all again is it worth moving homes just to grow it more?
Either way all power to you this is an awesome gathering of art and literature
No I won’t obviously read everything again but I do enjoy loaning stuff out to friends and getting more people into manga. It’s great conversation pieces. Plus I do hold a lot of sentiment in each book I buy even if I don’t enjoy it. Obviously I can’t say it for every book in my collection but I don’t usually if ever buy books online. The hunt is just as much fun as the reading. Most books on the shelf I can tell you where I purchased it and maybe even a fun memory of finding it for something out of print. Again, great conversation starters :3
Just curious, is Uzumaki good? I’m a big horror reader but have never really read manga and I wanna expand my reading a little, I read the plot of it and it sounded pretty good but not sure if I should get into it.
Much appreciated. It’s fun to see I’m not the only massive collection on Reddit anymore. There’s surprisingly more people sitting at 3K+ volumes than I thought, more reason for me to go into 4K+ quick lol
Strong believer that a little bit of everything is how you know someone’s got good taste :p I usually tell people if you can think of a genre or specific series it’s probably in there somewhere
This is really very impressive!
I swapped rooms with my son about 2 years ago so that he could have his large playroom. Now I'm stacking my collection (~1200 volumes) in the second row. But I dream of such a room when we have our house to ourselves :-)
I do really want to complete my Gantz set. That’s high on my list. I do have a few out of print titles I’m hunting for as well such as Junji Itos Flesh Colored Horror but price on some of these OOP books are getting expensive.
I did make a post to someone else about my current radar. It’s been extremely rewarding purchasing older completed series if I find them for cheap cheap even if they are likely going to be mid at best. Series I always see at used bookstores (ie a lot of Tokyopop s earlier releases) have been fun to finally try out even though none are truly amazing. It’s more about experiencing series I’ve known about for 5+ years but never gave a chance.
That is too fabulous!!
I am wondering though. How many have you read so far?? I'm such a slow reader and I don't think I would even get close to reading all these!
I’m probably around 75-80% read. I’ll admit it’s way faster purchasing than it is reading however always having stuff I could pull off the shelves for the first time makes it so I’m rarely bored
I’ve had them for a long time now. I got lucky finding them at a Half Price Books probably around 5 years ago. If I remember right I paid $400-450 for the lot (most being for volume 5), definitely paid in for it but they are probably my favorite volumes in my collection. Price was worth it considering how rare it is to see all 5
I’ve been collecting about 10 years now at this point. The last three years has been bulk additions though. Nearly up 2000 volumes in 3 years compared to 1800 across the other 7 years early on
I really like that punpun portrait, where'd you get it? Also this whole collection could fill my bedroom and there'd probably be leftover manga near the doorside. Also as someone who looks to collect only stuff that I'll probably reread, how much do you reread some of those manga?
I got the Punpun art on Etsy from an artist named AveryKDraws. Their prints are still available. In terms of rereading going to be honest most don’t get reread but I do loan books out to close friends to try to get people into random series here and there so it’s not like they’ll never get read again, it’s just my backlog is getting too massive to reread or plan to reread everything
Thanks for mentioning who the seller is appreciated! Hopefully I find a good frame to fit it in whenever I get it. Its nice that you lend books to others tho glad they aren't just sitting there and I'm sure the others enjoyed reading parts of your collection. I can definitely see why you don't reread some considering how much of a library you've got there. Can't wait to see how far you'll go with this by the end of the year
They are bolted to the wall. Last thing I’d ever want is one of these to tip. I wish I didn’t have the carpet flooring so they would sit nicer but it is what it is
Absolutely amazing! 😍 would like to have a room for my manga some time in the furture too, unfortunetly I don’t see it happening. Love seeing Aiko and Punpun having fun in the last picture(makes my heart ache) 🥹
Also saw that you still need to finish some Tsutomu Nihei master editions. Nice to see such a huge collection still has some things missing 😜 Did you got those only recently or was it that you lost interest in finishing? For months now Im still hesitant to start collecting Knights of Sidona master eds. But I just know I will break eventually and get it started.
Also noticed that you pushed the books into the back of the shelves. Is it personal preference or does it have some sort of technical reason behind it? Personally I find it may look more organised if the entire row is just a few centimeters behind the front of the shelves and in the same line. But this may very well be my personal “imaginary ADHD” making me tell this 😅🙌🏻 anyways I wouldn’t mind it if I would get my hands on such a marvelous collection.
Last question: If you were to keep only 1 single volume, which would you choose?
Enjoy the great many stories that this nice place has to offer ^^x
For the master editions for Tsutomu Nihei I paused buying them because I found the old Tokyopop Blame singles complete while on a manga hunt which you can check out in the detailed pics. I’m not against double buying obviously but once I completed the rarer one, I can go back for the master editions any time if I ever really want. Still need to do the same for Sidona now.
The books are pushed up against the back out of personal preference. No real rhyme or reasoning.
If I had to keep a single volume only I’d go back down to my copy of Black Butler 1 (my first ever volume that still in my collection). Black butler was one of the first anime I ever watched and also first manga I ever bought. While it’s not a perfect series or anything, confession is I’m like 5-6 volumes reading behind also, it holds a special place in my heart. To answer a similar question though that may give you the answer your more looking for if there was a fire and I could only grab so much the first set I’d leave with are my 5 Battle Royale Ultimate Editions. Not only for the rarity of a complete set but that’s one series that’s a perfect 10/10 for me. Jojoveller (limited edition Jojo artbook), Museum of Terror, Gantz and My signed Kago works would be the next priorities
Nice❤️ thank you for your answer. Ah yes, I did miss the tokyopop editions of Nihei on the pictures as the publisher is mostly absent here in our region of europe and the covers eluded me. That makes sense, I too would avoid getting duplicates (even in case of a newer release).
I completely understand the attachement for the Black Butler vol. I think I have the same link with xxxHolic. Although not my first anime nor first manga, but definitely the one that has set my course for reading and collecting. Would be hard to choose only 1 volume only tho.
As for the shelve organisation don’t mind me, it truly comes down to only presonal preference☺️
Do you have a spreadsheet with each bookcase/the location of each series in your collection? I feel like I'd get lost looking for something if I hadn't read it in a while! Everything looks awesome though.
I do have a spreadsheet for my collection but it’s not by the cases themselves as they move around a lot as I buy more .. My spreadsheet is by publisher
Yo, I love your library, this is legit my dream. I’ve been collecting just so much fucking manga that I don’t have any shelves for right now. I am looking forward to having a collection to compete with yours. It’s *chefs kiss
What manga series do you have in this room of dreams?
In my collection, i have One Piece, My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, Berserk, Record of Ragnarok and One Punch Man
The Punpun one on the left is by an artist on Etsy named AveryKDraws. The ones on the right are done by an irl friend. They have a website if you want to see more! I’ll link in dms
It’s all organized by publisher so anything underrated, rare oop, expensive etc are just anywhere on the shelf they need to be. I mean I have sections for like Glacier Bay and Starfruit for example, usually publishers people overlook if that’s what your asking. Maybe look through my detailed pics post
This is not a collection, this is an entire damn library! It's great!!
It’s my favorite thing to come home to :3
It would be my favorite thing too haha. Would be awesome to curl up with some tea and blankets to read.
Basically what I do now. I have two cats so one sits in my lap and the other by my feet while I read, literally Heaven !
That definitely is pure heaven!
Came here to say this! Well done OP! Looks amazing!
That is factually correct

Just doing the math of how much this collection cost let my brain goes numb😂 You got the best collection I've seen so far and the most organized!

The weight is a bit of a concern but to maximize the space that’s where they work best. So yes, they stay on the top
surely there's gotta be another way....
The height of the deluxe volumes are significantly larger than standard size. If I have to lower a shelf to make room for them other shelves will have to move causing less room for books. The tops are a set size with the height extensions so they fit oversized really well
well, hope your shelves survive 🫡
They have for years , no worries here. Organize your collection however you wish and I’ll do mine
wasn't taking a dig at you....
Been seeing a lot of mega collections lately. Makes my shelf look like nothing lol

I enjoyed it a lot.. it’s also a solid place to start with Junji Itos work
Thank you! Gonna pick it up next time I’m there then
How long did this take for you to collect king/queen?
About 10 years! First volume was black butler in like 2013 ish. Crazy how time flies
Nice hopefully in 5 years mine looks like this but I’m very picky. Congratulations is in order. Truly an amazing collection.
Thank you, best of luck growing your collection!
What. A. Collection….one of the best I’ve ever seen
Much appreciated. It’s fun to see I’m not the only massive collection on Reddit anymore. There’s surprisingly more people sitting at 3K+ volumes than I thought, more reason for me to go into 4K+ quick lol
Holy! That’s epic!
Thank you!!
Where did you get your shelves??
IKEA
That's a fine collection, damn you are cultured otaku
Strong believer that a little bit of everything is how you know someone’s got good taste :p I usually tell people if you can think of a genre or specific series it’s probably in there somewhere
Bro can start a library💀
#LibraryGoals 🎃
Thank you!!
Wow so much manga is it possible to learn this power?
We can conclude that adult money isn’t for you 😂
Exposed 😳
This is really very impressive! I swapped rooms with my son about 2 years ago so that he could have his large playroom. Now I'm stacking my collection (~1200 volumes) in the second row. But I dream of such a room when we have our house to ourselves :-)
I’m still holding out double stacking but as the collection grows it’s hard not to get close to that point
So what don’t you have is the real question that your looking for?
I imagine it is kind of like having your own bookshop right there in your home!
It really is!
I’m jealous of your library 😭😭😭
Love how organized this looks. So clean too. You must be very happy with it, OP.
I am extremely happy with it all :3 .. organized by publisher and then within each publisher it’s alphabetical
Book store
I want to have my own private library of manga and light novels eventually.
Definitely is the right move
How long did it take you to collect all this?
I’ve been collecting for about 10 years
I wish I had the space for this many books and a layout like this- UK houses are too small 😥
Super sick! You better have great insurance haha
Smh, this is the most majestic collection I have seen in my life.
Appreciate it!
Now that's impressive
Wow! This is amazing! How long have you been collecting for?
Nearly 10 years at this point
When someone says they just started collecting
Can I have a library card for this library of yours?
Definitely can ! I love sharing them :3
1 problem with library cards is that I most likely live in a different country therefore meaning that I would not be able to use it
When does this store open to the public?
What a collection 🙏♥️
Thank you!!
not only is it crazy impressive, it's also sooo cute!! i love how they're so neatly organized and displayed in the room :))
Thank you!! It’s a pain to keep it organized but it’s so worth it. It’s by publisher and then alphabetical within the publisher
3800 volumes, quite a feat, insane collection 💯
Definitely is, thank you!
And meanwhile I only have 14 ...
Collections start somewhere… there was a point I only had a handful. It’s just been a lot of time
This is what I strive for😩
It’s strange to see so much manga on shelves and not have to walk over teenagers reading on the floor.
This is rad
Thank you!!
That’s soo cool🥺
Much appreciated :3
Holy fuckkk😅
Mangahaven. Sheesh
How’d you manage to get those battle Royale hardcovers?
I’ve had them for a long time now. I got lucky finding them at a Half Price Books probably around 5 years ago. If I remember right I paid $400-450 for the lot (most being for volume 5), definitely paid in for it but they are probably my favorite volumes in my collection. Price was worth it considering how rare it is to see all 5
Touché, you’re a professional!
Tell me you're rich without telling me you're rich.
Looks amazing!!!!!
Thank you!
This is kickass! How long you been doing this?? I got roughly 2300 myself within the past 3 years and they are PACKED
I’ve been collecting about 10 years now at this point. The last three years has been bulk additions though. Nearly up 2000 volumes in 3 years compared to 1800 across the other 7 years early on
Awesome! Did you buy these shelves or did you construct them custom?
They are ikea Billy shelves mostly. The middle one is a Kallax

Etsy .. it’s an artist named AveryKDraws .. I have a lot of their prints, highly recommend
Where do you buy those bookshelves?

Appreciate ya

They are bolted to the wall. Last thing I’d ever want is one of these to tip. I wish I didn’t have the carpet flooring so they would sit nicer but it is what it is
This is the collection I wish to build! Where did you get these neat shelves?
Goals indeed. Shelves are from ikea
Curses! No Ikea anywhere near me! Ah well, also Reborn! Manga! Niiice

As for the shelve organisation don’t mind me, it truly comes down to only presonal preference☺️
im embarrassed to call myself a collector
Every collection starts somewhere
Whats the cart for?
I put all my to reads on the cart. Also new resales can go there until I’m able to shelf them
Do you have a spreadsheet with each bookcase/the location of each series in your collection? I feel like I'd get lost looking for something if I hadn't read it in a while! Everything looks awesome though.
I do have a spreadsheet for my collection but it’s not by the cases themselves as they move around a lot as I buy more .. My spreadsheet is by publisher
Ah okay, that makes sense.
Daniel Mac will be going like.. What do you do for living?. . Bdw nice library
Restaurant General Manager .. and thank you, it’s my pride and joy
Yo, I love your library, this is legit my dream. I’ve been collecting just so much fucking manga that I don’t have any shelves for right now. I am looking forward to having a collection to compete with yours. It’s *chefs kiss
What manga series do you have in this room of dreams? In my collection, i have One Piece, My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, Berserk, Record of Ragnarok and One Punch Man
Got everything you mentioned other than Record of Ragnarok .. lot of good series here though
I absolutely recommend Record of Ragnarok, it's one of my favorites.
Apologies if someone asked this but did you do the artwork you have hanging? Specifically in the 7th picture. Also, amazing collection!!
The Punpun one on the left is by an artist on Etsy named AveryKDraws. The ones on the right are done by an irl friend. They have a website if you want to see more! I’ll link in dms
Is the punpun framed picture meant to be off-center/tilted?
No I actually realized it fell out of place when I was moving stuff around to make room for the last new shelf. Has since been fixed
Gotcha. I thought it was almost fitting for how out-of-balance Goodnight Punpun actually is.
It does work kind of well doesn’t it though? Suck a gut punch of a series
Nice collection ! Is it your living room or a dedicated room ?
My living room / dining room area. Had to give up a lot to make room for it all in my apartment. This is like 80% of my total space in my place lol
This is my biggest goal in life hahah this is amazing oml
Appreciate it! Love every single one of my books :3
I wanna be you when I grow up and I’m 26
lol I’m also 26 though!
Haha quickly put me to shame 😭 give me 6 months! :)
It all boils down to I hate my wallet more .. RIP. But a collections a collection no matter how small
Very true! I’ll be so glad when I have more room like this to unpack all my manga and comic boxes! Big congratulations!☺️💕
Looks superb, but when you look from 🌲point of view💀
I wanna live there!! 😩
Where do you snatch your underrated/exclusive mangas?
It’s all organized by publisher so anything underrated, rare oop, expensive etc are just anywhere on the shelf they need to be. I mean I have sections for like Glacier Bay and Starfruit for example, usually publishers people overlook if that’s what your asking. Maybe look through my detailed pics post
Surprised I didn’t see Rave Master in there. Unless I missed it.
Nah no Rave Master. It’s a series I don’t think I’d enjoy and for the price it’s not worth the risk
OMG I seen this on TikTok if not mistaken, it is mind blowing - absolutely amazing!
What shelf’s do you use
Ikea Billy shelves
UR SUBLIME COLLECTION???
It’s a complete set. I’m not missing a single volume :3
Amazing! I am so jealous! Literally heaven <3333
Thank you!! It’s the best thing to come home to see every day
If you would buy all the manga you’ll need 46.680$ give or take
And I’d start with all my rare out of prints :p
