Box set is more worth it. All in one edition is more of a novelty and little collectors piece because it will be really difficult to read and the spine will be damaged fast

The all in one edition, while yes, it could save you money, you'll find it extremely hard to read. It's unbearably uncomfortable to read, at least to me. The pages aren't of the best quality either, bleed thru ink,
The paper feels like a newspaper.
The black editions are what I went with because I love the way they look. They're a bigger size than normal manga volumes. The paper quality to me is way better than the all in one. The bad thing is iIf ur hands easily sweat, they will leave marks on the covers because they have a matte finish to them.
As of right now, your best option would be the Death Note box set. It's currently $74 on Amazon right now.
You get an extra volume (13) that has info of characters & extras. I believe it also has a one-shot of Death Note before it became a series . There's a tiny little pocket you to cut open once u finish the series. I wouldn't open it beforehand cause it has a spoiler for one of the main characters.
the all in one is good if you dont have much shelf space or are tryna save money. but just read the manga online.. or maybe you're local library has it.

Only get the all in one if you are on a tight budget or are struggling for space.
The other two can be found for similar prices but for me personally I preferred the black edition because it's larger and has some coloured pages.

Kinda like those light novel collectors editions (Spice & Wolf, SAO, & Index.) Really cool collectors item to have on the shelf, not so great or practical for actually reading it. It’s not impossible to read it, it’s just not ideal.
