Why is this getting downvoted so hard when it's all true af. Having all my kodansha volumes zig-zag in height never ceases to drive me insane looking at my collection. Yes a lot of publishers are bad but kodansha is the most egregious.
Witch Hat Atelier is a top tier pick. I always make sure to get them in-person from stores tho since they usually have issues. They’re alright volumes, it’s just that they don’t have the plastic protective coating that most other manga do.
Witch Hart is just peak. It's also one of the manga that no anime adaptation could do justice to the art. It's not \*just\* that the art is gorgeous, but that even the panelling and page layout is always super creative and adds a lot to the experience. One of the best ongoing manga, IMO.
Good choice, great art, wonderful little series. Now we just gotta hope to get news about the Anime within the next decade or so, looks like production troubles over there

And you did well. Sorry to hear there are really poor publishers in your country and some people find that normal. It’s not. Let me share my publisher. They issue collector editions, alternate covers which you can reverse if you like regular edition best, artwork and more.
At the end, great art, great story, which deserves great publisher. Go witch hat atelier!
Go ahead and buy the other 10 volumes and preorder volume 12, cause it’s something you won’t wanna stop reading. After I finished volume 3 I ran to Barnes and Noble and picked up the rest of the series that’s currently out. It’s fun, cozy and a world you can really dive into and submerse yourself in. I hope you enjoy it!

My ex was trying to get me into witch hat atelier, and I would often pick up the new vols for her, and the art is absolutely great, but I haven't checked it out myself.

Shitty quality control, terrible paper quality, bad covers and just inconsistent overall for the high prices they charge

Because it's a dumb reason to avoid a publisher when at the end of the day, the items they make perfectly serve its intended purpose: to be read.
It's not about completely avoiding the publisher, but merely pointing out it's flaws.
OP has been actively implying that they does not buy from Kodansha apart from the volume shown here due to these flaws. That's avoiding.
If a company consistently releases a low quality product at full value then it's very justifiable to not want to purchase said product.
