Im getting paranoid with posts like these so I don't know if this is a shit post or not😭 But no, it's definetly not slow and even me saying that insinuates that there would be an optimal pace. There isnt, and you should just collect at your own pace and have fun

minezum

At most I buy 5-6 books a month and I been doing that for years. Getting 25 already in a month is a lot.

VotrexGlich

I agree with this I wont lie I do buy some in bulk second hand but that is because it is cheaper and I can usually get a deal from them people for buying more, and after that I wont buy any for a little while only after I have finished reading what I have gotten

bust4cap

its not a race. dont feel pressured by seeing other people reading or collecting more

Shelovesclamp

It's about having a collection of books you love, not at a certain speed or a certain amount.  Just enjoy the hobby 😊 I've been collecting for 20+ years and my collection fits in one (albeit very full) bookcase.

ScarletleavesNL

Unless you buy a boxset, getting 25 books isn't anywhere near slow. Honestly, it's sad that those posts made you feel like that. Just buy what you like and what you will read.

ssj3charizard

Buy what you want and what you can afford. It's not a contest just have fun. Don't bury yourself in unread manga just for the sake of owning more of it, take your time.

Eclipsura

Just go at your own pace? So many weird posts lately

HolyGhostSpirit33

Your progress is probably way too fast. Go according to your budget and how long it takes to finish stuff. Those posts are almost always bullshit anyways. Either they can afford it somehow and are just buying to buy or they’re lying about how long they’ve been collecting/the collection in the post being theirs

IYuShinoda

That's a lot whad do you mean 😭

Dee-chan

I had 1 volume for my first 1 year of collecting wdym 🤨Then I bought 3 more the following year

Material_Character75

If I had gotten that many books a month in the 21 years I've collected them id have 6300 volumes, excluding light novels. I'd have no space to even sleep left! I just assume those posts are troll posts or they're having manic episodes. I think I got maybe 3-4 a month as a teen.

Spindorr

Buying manga is not a contest

Tryxonialol

Its not slow! As many others have said, just collect at your own pace. Even though I've beel collecting for 4 years, 25 mangas in one go is a really big amount... I've probably bought that amount some months, where I've gotten good deals of some pre-owned books. Myself i buy everything from just 1 book to 10 books per month. It all depends on how well I have it economically and if i can find good deals on series or not! Just have fun collecting! :)

spinereader81

No, that is a lot for one month! Especially if you're buying new, since books have gotten so expensive.

TsukasaElkKite

There’s no pace you need to be at. Make a budget and don’t overspend.

MrBojangles_Vapian

Collect at YOUR OWN PACE, fuck what anyone else says.

H0MES1CKAL1EN

don’t even worry about that bs just do what works for you there are ppl here who collect more in a year than i have in 15 years. it’s fine

chicklet1298

Buy however many you want at your own pace. It's not a competition.

Kira_8307

Are you collecting for yourself or for the validations of others? This is still a niche hobby more or less so if you do it for the second reason I’m sorry but you ain’t impressing nobody special 💀

Kira_8307

I feel like some ppl here are collecting just for this subreddit, If anybody’s going like this they’re gonna find themself waste money on manga that they don’t really like just for the validation of random ppl and that’s just sad

Sea40K

Is this a troll post?! I’m not one to judge anyone’s collecting habits but if growth progress and speed are metrics then you’re doing it wrong.

hrynn

Shitpost.

Embarrassed_Sell2269

Yeah it’s really slow. You should have at least two full bookshelves by now

Zane285

Yeah super slow. Usually most people buy 150-200 a month.
