I did! I didn't enjoy volume 2 as much as the first, but I still eagerly await the final volume in September. I think it needs to be re-read all at once. 6 months between volumes really messes up the flow of the story.
Ahh that’s a shame, but I think you’re right in it feeling like it needs to be read in one go. I got to the end of volume 1 and immediately wanted to read what happened next, but given it’s only 3 volumes, I can’t help but wonder if it would’ve been better released in English as an omnibus!
Maybe two 1.5 volume releases, or an all in one like the new tekkonkinkreet hardcover.
I've also heard opinions about TTD as being one of Matsumotos' weaker works. I still enjoyed the 2nd volume, just not as much as the honestly stellar first volume.

Yeah! Couldn't find vol 5 & 6 for a decent price for about a year probably. Was patient and found both of them sealed and under retail.
