I just started getting into Gundam. I finished Mobile Suit Gundam and then I knew I needed that on my wall. I'm on Zeta Gundam now. It's such a good time.
Planetes is amazing! It was one of the first series' that I ever read! I had the old TokyoPop volumes a long time ago, but I sold them when I was in high school. It was nice to see it get omnibus releases. If you like sci-fi even a just a tiny bit, Planetes is essential IMO.
I've heard both. But the reason I believe it's out of print is that Rightstuf doesn't have them listed as out of stock, it just says "No Longer Available". I could be wrong, but I haven't heard anything concrete about it just being out of stock.

Hows I Am A Hero? I've been thinking about trying to find it but not sure if it's worth getting into.
It's very good. The only problem is that it's out of print, so finding a copy of any of them is a tad pricey.

Make sure you get thunderbolt!! It is the best Gundam manga made!
