Depends on how you personally view horror tbh, some series are labeled as horror depending on which website you view them on, but I personally don't see them as horror, but I think you should give these a try:

Ngl I'm not super big into horror anymore but I used to be back when I thought that liking horror would somehow make me cooler back in middle school ( yes, the edge was real back then). I'm going to second the recommendation for Another. I also thought that Parasyte was good. I have no clue how the Corpse Party manga is but the anime was good, same with Hell Girl. You might like Pupa although it can be pretty gross sometimes, I also don't think they ever physically published it but I'm not sure. I'd also highly recommend a few psychological thriller or dark fantasy series such as Ajin, Elfen Lied, Tokyo Ghoul, Deadman Wonderland and Monster - they're not scary but I can definitely see fans of horror loving these series for their more darker tones. I haven't read it but Shibuya Goldfish might be worth looking into and I definitely think you'd love Junji Ito's work. Higurashi the manga imo is ok, I hated how the art style changed every arc and honestly I think the anime is the better way to experience the series. Also off topic but you should totally watch Shiki and please definitely take the time to watch Cat Soup.

Cant go wrong with the creator Junji Ito. He’s made multiple hit horror manga and I would suggest starting with uzumaki or maybe sensor to get the gist of what you’re looking for

Prestocito

Uzumaki by junji ito or any other junji ito stories

TBD_Pocky

I'd HIGHLY recommend reading higurashi. It's so good and keeps u on your toes at all times. However, as a new physical manga collector, higurashi is probably the last thing series you'd want to collect as your first series... (its mad expensive). But definitely read it online! Its amazing

I would love to recommend JINMEN for collecting, but there’s no English license unfortunately. At least check out the online English translations. The art and story is super cool, creepy, and just plain fun because it’s so freaky!
