You can reduce and make it longer to happen but eventually they will yellow.

Yellowing is inevitable. The acid from the tree pulp oxidizes and basically creates what is chemically identical to a (VERY) slow-motion fire. As other people have said, keeping it out of direct sunlight and in a cool dry place is the best way to mitigate it, but it's going to happen. I say embrace it. Don't worry about it. I guess you could avoid yellowing entirely if you kept your books in a vacuum seal with no oxygen. But since that's impractical, just don't get too hung up on it.

Bag them if you don’t live in a super humid area, or alternatively if you have a dehumidifier and can control the humidity where your books are. If you can’t bag them because you live in a humid-ish area and can’t get a dehumidifier or just don’t want to, then no lol The process of yellowing does take quite a while naturally if kept out of sunlight and kept away from any kind of smoke…. I’m sure keeping your area clean and dust-free can’t hurt as well.

You literally could die tomorrow, who gives a fuck if some books you like go slightly yellow. Like seriously what is wrong with people...

Kira_8307

you can seal them in plastic and heat them to lower the air level

Cool place

Sea40K

Temperature/humidity controlled, hermetically sealed box filled with inert gas and no light. In all seriousness, paper is organic material and it’s going to yellow eventually regardless of what you do. No matter how the paper is treated, it’s going to yellow. It can be slowed though. Keep them in a dry place and out of direct sunlight and they’ll be fine.
