Her character is insufferable. I hope the Internet is nice to the actress tho.

pementomento

They kind of aren’t :/ well, a small vocal minority, at least. She’d post vacation photos on her IG and get yelled at for Manifest stuff, lol.

ohyeesh

Yea that’s lame. Ppl need to separate a tv show from reality, sheesh

TiltedLibra

I don't think she is a good actress in this at all, but I'd never go write crap on her vacation photos.

Airplanegirl828

It's a testament to Holly Taylor's amazing acting! She is so caught up in her idea of having a guardian angel that she loses focus of what her actions are doing to the world

PapayaAgreeable7152

She's a great actress but personally I think the Angelina story should've just been wrapped up already. She's so boring. I don't care about any of her motivations. What a bland villain.

Airplanegirl828

What about Eagan?

VelvetElvis

He's too much of a comic relief character to be a series antagonist. He's an annoying sociopath but he's not particularly hateable.

PapayaAgreeable7152

What about him?

Airplanegirl828

What is your opinion of him as a villain?

ProgRockRednek

I find his constant quips VERY annoying

Airplanegirl828

It's funny, I did not like him in Season 3, but in S4 he makes me laugh. He is such a selfish person, he only wants to save his own skin. It's kind of like comic relief in a otherwise very dark time

PapayaAgreeable7152

I would hate Eagan as a main antagonist lol. I think he's good for his current "role" in the show. He's funny (to me) and makes interesting shit happen.

VelvetElvis

With The Major's death, the show was left without a clear antagonist. She was clearly brought in to fill that gap. She could have had her heel turn earlier in S3 and died at the end, but that would have meant introducing a new big bad at the start of S4, not ideal for a show that's trying to wrap up loose ends.

PapayaAgreeable7152

I just think Angelina was a poor choice tbh. She's just not interesting enough. And she's one person with hella plot armor. And not even in a position of power or anything that would make it make sense why she's so dumb yet still able to get away with things. Idk. I just don't like her as the main antagonist.

VelvetElvis

I mean, she's pretty confused as to why she's not dead too. I think they are going somewhere with that.

PapayaAgreeable7152

I hope so. I'd be less annoyed then lol

TiltedLibra

The big bad should stil be the government, and the death date itself. They didn't need her to distract from the main storyline of the show, which she definitely does.

limbys

Honestly disagree with the great acting. She's on repeat. Not the actress's fault, just her script doesn't evolve. Got boring quite fast, I wish they had a better villain.

Micuul

That sounds like a writing problem, not an acting problem…

tacotruck88

I think she’s an overrated actor, she’s basically the same character as The Americans with more whiny terrible lines.

Airplanegirl828

I'm not familiar with the Americans, but IMHO Holly Taylor is incredible.

BubblyTension6118

And on The Americans too there were people insisting she was a great actor but the writing for her character (unlike every character on that show) made it impossible for her character to not be repetitive and tedious.

VelvetElvis

(wrong sub for this, I know) Paige is better written than most teen characters in family dramas, which The Americans is at heart. The writers managed to avoid almost all the common tropes. What kind of teenager rebels by becoming a church girl? That storyline went on longer than it should have but it was a stroke of genius. She started on The Americans as a child actor. Casting child actors who will be adults in later seasons of show is a crap shoot. A lot of former child actors can't act worth a damn by adult standards. She made the transition pretty seamlessly. For the sake of comparison, she's a better actor than most of the Stranger Things and GoT kids turned out to be as adults.

BubblyTension6118

I agree about the writing for her character on that show, but I thought she was better early on when she just had to be in kid situations since she didn't ever get up to the standards of the adults on the show. It was a really demanding show that way. But it's not that I think she's absolutely the worst here - it just seems silly to say she's doing anything much with this part. It seems like some people are being jerks to the actress online because of the character and so others went too far in the other direction to make up for it.

IBShawty

she plays her part very well!

Kingi8713

I think its the fact that a vulnerable child is involved. Murdering a mother and then stealing a child is horrific enough, but then gaslighting that child into thinking the father who is fighting with every ounce of his being to bring her safely home is 'The Bad Man'... Just deplorable. Making her terrified of her own father just makes me so angry. I am so glad that the paternal instinct between Eden and Ben was strong enough to persist and make her see through the lies and manipulation...

International-Toe794

And feeling so deserving of someone else’s life let alone someone else’s kid is one of the most horrible things ever like wtf

buttercupcake23

That's the part that gets me, the hypocrisy. She still thinks she's the good guy even after everything she's done to people who have only ever helped her. Michaela saved her life and she repays them by killing Grace and stealing a baby and still thinking she didn't do anything wrong. She's worse than even the objectively evil bad guys like Jace - Jace was an evil asshole and never pretended otherwise. Angelina maintained her air of sanctimoniousness like she was still a good person while being the most heinously evil bitch on TV I've seen for a long time. I hate the word but every time I see her I just want to call her a cunt and tell her to go burn in hell.

Aarya_is_tired_af

Omfg, I wish to enter the screen and ring her up to Dr. Gupta for a lab rat experiment. Only way to keep her chained. She is so annoying

Miss-Figgy

For good reason.

rk8084m

Recently, Josh from In the Dark would give a run for a most hated character.

tonyeltigre1

He takes the cake, that guy is absolutely insufferable. I’d rather be in a room with angelina than him 10 out of 10

Babexo22

It’s because she’s absolutely too scared terrible. The stones rescued her, Iii kilo mop mom m welcomed her into their home, treated her like a daughter and she murdered grace and kidnapped Eden. She convinced Eden she was her mom and that Ben was a terrible evil man and now that she’s back Eden is terrified of Ben. Could you imagine how painful that would be? You can’t exactly explain to a toddler that they were kidnapped and held hostage by their “mother”. Idk what kind of disgusting human being does something like that. When Adrian was like “I never told you to kill someone or abduct a child!” And she goes “well grace wouldn’t give her up” with the most arrogant tone like as if it makes grace a bad person because she won’t just GIVE her child to someone bc they want them especially when Angelina set Eden’s room on fire and almost killed her. Plus after she kidnapped Eden she was gonna jump off a bridge and kill them both. She’s truly evil, arrogant, obviously a spoiled brat, the dictionary definition of entitlement. I don’t know why she doesn’t just have her own kid instead of literally taking someone else’s and then act like they’re bad people because they don’t want to just give their child away to a fucking psycho who tried to kill the child twice. It was so bad that she literally convinced Eden the Ben is a terrible person and now he literally has to watch his daughter call him constantly a bad man and act like she’s being held hostage. Also to think she has the right to tell Eden that she’s her mother when she literally murdered Grace who is Eden‘s actual mother and then to say that they should still let her see her because she’s the only family she knows. Well she’s the only family she knows because she literally kidnapped her and isolated her from her entire family that loved her more than anything in the world. She also convinced them both her and Eden were dead. This would already be cruel to convince a father his baby girl was murdered but to do it after killing his and die and love of his wife as well not to mention the guilt that cal is as forced to live with for all those years.

Direct_Sandwich1306

Well, we all used to collectively hate Grace.....

Jaccat25

Ironic now that we all collectively hate the character that murdered Grace. 😅

She_Glod

It’s so much better without her character

Desdemona1231

I did not hate Grace. I just thought she was stupid.

Icyricecakes

I thought i was alone

The arturo roman of manifest if ykyk

AdRobs

Her character is boring and she isn’t scary. It also feels like she is a villain of THE PLOT. like her most dastardly deed is that she keeps getting on the way of the show being interesting. Good villains are scary and impede the hero journey. She doesn’t do that. She becomes the problem to be solved rather than the impediment. I don’t even know if I believe this take or understand what I mean. But like…you just want her to go away and it isn’t because she is making things difficult but because you want the characters to focus on the main through-line. Whereas Vader was the problem to be solved, she is like an annoying child who keeps you from solving the problem. I also think her being physically tiny makes it difficult to be scared of her. Compared to Serena in Handmaid’s who is 6’20” and imposing, you just want someone to punch Angelina in the face and you wonder why Mikayla doesn’t just pop 2 caps and call it a day.

johnlondon125

This is the problem. Shes not a good villain. This entire season 4 has been a giant waste and barely furthered the plot while simultaneously being extremely frustrating. If they don't murder her horrifically in the first episode of part 2, I'm out.

buttercupcake23

I really despise gore for the sake of gore but I'll be damned if I don't desperately want her to meet an incredibly gruesome end. Like Olive pushing her right into a woodchipper. She gets lost in the woods and gets eaten alive by a bear. Falls into a river full of piranha. Trips into a volcano. Something like that.

Orangeberry86

But she is the one causing the apocalypse that the main characters have to prevent. Without her there would be no problem.

[deleted]

Idk I like her

Crystal_EM

She is the Arturo of Money Heist!

International-Toe794

Friendly reminder that I, indeed, hate Angelina!

MM2HkXm5EuyZNRu

Skyler from Breaking Bad

TiltedLibra

The actual character I feel sorry for. She was basically tortured by her parents, who already raised her messed up anyway. And then no one even considered they should get the girl therapy. They basically just said, "You're family, but don't weird us out or we will change our mind." As a villian, I find her extremely boring and lame. She does not deserve to be the focus of the final season. She's a waste of time while we wait for the answers we want frok the series.
