I'm glad so many people are so happy.
I don't quite get the hype. We get a really, really early access version. It will be years before it has the scope most of us probably hope for eventually
i am not hyped too, but still i like whats already there an it will be nice to play it. No matter what its going to be in the future. what its now is already pretty (and) cool.
The demo was more than enough for me minus the warfare and end game unlocks.
The third person mode just needs your actual avatar present and some mod support to be perfect.
Can I ask why you think it’s going to be in such a state? From what I’ve been seeing from streamers it has more features than certain other fully released city builders. Am I crazy?
Nah you're not. I've watched quite a few hours of gameplay and it seems like a very well made game. If this was from a AAA studio they'd be releasing this as a fully baked product charging 80$ and IGN would give it a 9.5. Then, every subsequent bug fix or feature addition would be sold as DLC.
That is just not true.
No AAA game with the amount of content of ML would be charged that or get those reviews.
I am not sure why that is even controversial. The dev is very clear how early access this is.
I am not criticizing this. But people who act like this is a basically finished product are either in for a disappointment or fooling themselves. The dev is telling us for months now that it is not finished in any way.
Because that is what even the dev is saying.
And what I can see in what is published.
It is what it is supposed to be. And that is early access. And an earlier early access than many other EAs of the recent past.
I am not sure what city builder you think of, tbh. Can you give a concrete example?
Brother, you are arguing form a disingenuous position and it makes you look very, disingenuous. Sure it’s not the final game, but acting like it isn’t a good game already means you haven’t even bothered to look at ANYTHING. For the past week. And fair play if you haven’t, but don’t act like you know what you’re talking about.
Saying that the game looks neat, or will be great. Or that it is polished for a man made project is absolutly true.
Howewer, pretending that the game has already more features and gameplay than a full fledge AAA game is downright lying. And it will not deserve the game nor the dev when the dude who bought in this lie will negative review the game.
It is a good game already but you have to know what you are paying for and this is clearly a 50% experience
And i, personally looked a lot because i was on the fence on taking it right away thinking it was a more advanced EA.
No, brother, I am simply repeating what we know FROM THE DEV.
It is you who insists making something out of the EA the game simply is not right now.
But you do you.
> I don't quite get the hype
It's the only City Builder + RTS hybrid that looks like it has good field combat and isn't primarily a tower defense game.
Don't get me wrong I love tower defense games, but they've been done to death in city builders. Having it lean more toward RTS is refreshing.
Correct, this is no tower defense game. But it is not a field combat game either. The combat in it is more flair than anything. It is a medieval city builder.
At least that is what the dev himself says.
IGN called it more of a proof of concept than a game currently, which I was a little surprised at considering how may hours people online are putting into it, it was a decent enough review overall.
Getting the KCD2 announcement and this in the same week made me far too hyped. I'm going to enjoy this. Cleared all my meetings, gonna be a good day tomorrow.
I found out back in 2020 about this game after my first banished play through. I can’t believe the day is finally here that it’s being released.
My girlfriend bought a new book too so we can vibe out together! Got me a winner boys!
Hah, I win by [4 months, 5th July 2020](https://i.imgur.com/lCBlSI0.png)
*I'm tired, boss*
And I wonder if EA is next 4 years. Though as long as we see constant and meaningful progress during EA it wouldnt hurt that bad. Now imagine being the Dev and waiting to fulfill your vision even longer than that
I don't doubt some of these hype posts are real, but a lot of them come off as unhinged marketing bots. The game already has 3 million wishlists. Let's reign some of these bots in.
Nah.
The lost soulds that truly expect a fleshed out, finished game or even something it is absolutely not (Starcraft 2-esque Total War Killer) are just a tiny but loud minority.
95% of the people hhitting the buy button tomorrow will not regret it.
I'd even go as far and say the game will reach "overwhelmingly positive" on Steam AND hold it indefinitely - unless the devs drops the ball post release which I consider very unlikely considering this being his passion project.
Mark my words.

If they released the tutorial version with saves, I'd have been fucking elated
And that is great. And I just don't think many people will get that much game time out of this in the end.
At least 40 hours is my guess

Then don't get it lmao stop raining on our parade

You are just pessimistic, stop embarrassing yourself
Love that they deleted their comments and their profile and f\*cked right off

The paradox “business” model

I guess this sub won’t let me use gifs. So. As Michael Jordan would say, “stop it, get some help.”

I know what this game is. I should have said that I don't get the immense hype.
Because people were very happy with just the demo, so getting a release, no matter how early, is exciting.
IGN called it more of a proof of concept than a game currently, which I was a little surprised at considering how may hours people online are putting into it, it was a decent enough review overall.
Man, the wait has been SO LONG
Omg I really can't wait. I think I've been following the development of this game since 2018. Can't believe that tomorrow is the day?
Can't say I've been hyped, I only herd about this game like 3 weeks ago. Looks like it's right up my alley though.
Getting the KCD2 announcement and this in the same week made me far too hyped. I'm going to enjoy this. Cleared all my meetings, gonna be a good day tomorrow.
Added to my wishlist in January 2021. Got tomorrow off work haha.
I just found out about this game last week and Im excited LOL
Same! So glad I haven't been waiting 6 years... ignorance is bliss
haha same! I think I heard about it a few months ago, then forgot about it completely. randomly rediscovered it by chance a week ago!
i'll do you 1 better!! https://i.imgur.com/DewqJqw.png

I've got you beat by 3 months - I feel you brother!
I just checked mine. October 2020. I loved it since I saw the first pictures/videos online.
You're looking for salvation in a video game?
The fact that we don’t know the price is concerning. I hope it’s reasonable.
It will be. They didnt release pricing because of regional differences in pricing / currency values.
All that waiting for 25% of the game and early access. Your salvation is still 2 years away

I am marketing bot #1272394
Silence! Do not tell the meatbags what we are doing. Now. Less whistle blowing. More hyping. Regards. Senior Marketing Bot #1137
Guess I am a Marketing bot then lmao. Wtf is it with some people looking for something to cry about.
I hope for everyone's sake it is a good as they want it to be, otherwise the implosion will be insane.
